Absolutely abysmal service. Walked in carrying my guitar case and waited no less that 30 mins while two sales associates did their best to pretend I didn't exist. When someone finally bothered to acknowledge me, I told them I needed repairs on my guitar to which he replied "we don't have a guitar tech, go to Kendall or Coconut Creek". Wait...What? Great prices on guitars & equipment. The prices are virtually the same as you will find online except without the wait. I have bought quite a few pieces of equipment at this location over the years. The assistance is decent and the persons working are frequently trained musicians that also "do" music professionally. Regarding the prices - not only is this better than shopping online due to the convenience, but you can also try out the instruments. I got a great deal on a very under-priced guitar here recently that I would otherwise never have thought to buy until I tried it (Squire mustang). Another good thing is that they also have used equipment at even lower prices. I will continue to shop here for sure. read more

Went to the Hallandale store trying to solve the fact that I was sent the wrong item from the GT website... At least you should expect to return an item and get a replacement ordedered by the store, from the store at that moment... But NO, I guess the lady at the pro-audio counter was too busy in her head and chose to lie to me saying that the item I wanted was not available... When I got home I checked and voila.. the item is there, available and ready to ship. But my gear card is blocked with the balance for another week. I purchased what I thought was a new piece of equipment from this store. When I received it in the mail, it was clearly used and in an open box. The power cable was loose and just thrown in the box and there was scratches under the Device also. Again, I purchased it "NEW". When I went to this store, the STORE MANAGER basically told me well it's not new it's "like new" in a condescending way. I said I paid for new not used. New is new. Not "like new". They sold me a piece of equipment at new full price when it wasn't. No wonder this company is failing. This is not a new scam for them based on reddit. I went to Sam ash.com and bought a new one. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. I went into the store and the workers were so rude I decided to buy the guitar online instead. I ordered a Jackson guitar on the 6th of April, 2022. The guitar didn't ship out until the 11th for whatever reason even though it was in stock and it said it was being delivered the next day. The next day rolls around and it says it's "out for delivery" and I wait all day(I work from home) and no one showed up. I figured it would be delivered the next day. It didn't and each day it continued to say "out for delivery" and that someone "attempted to deliver" it at 10:41 PM each night. I called UPS and they told me that was weird since they don't even drive that late, let alone it being the same time every night. So eventually a few days passed of this mess and I go into the actual UPS center it's supposed to be at since I can't get anywhere with the guitar center people or UPS on the phone. They straight up tell me they do not have the guitar and they cannot find it in the warehouse or on any of the trucks. I told guitar center this and they opened a claim, and they told me if nothing was found by Monday, April 18th, they would refund me. Well, Monday rolls around and no one calls me or anything. So I jump on the chat with them and they tell me they cannot refund me until they look into it further, even though I went on UPS's website and put return to sender on the package so it can stop with the "out for delivery" infinite loop, so that was proof I didn't have the guitar nor was it going to be coming to me. I showed them the tracking and told them what the previous reps said and they wouldn't budge. So I finally went through my bank and filed a claim because this was getting ridiculous. Every guitar center rep would cut me off saying they understood, but would give me no information and would just say we're looking into it. It is now Friday, April 22nd, still no guitar, and finally got a refund THROUGH MY BANK. I will NEVER order through this company again. It's been an absolute nightmare. They lost my package, and there was proof in the tracking and they still wouldn't refund me. Worst customer service I've ever dealt with. My bank even said the whole process they put me through was very sketchy and they were shocked they hadn't refunded my money. read more

Visited for the first time last weekend. I was worried since there were some bad reviews but I had a good experience. My son needed a pedal and strings and I am clueless about those things. We went up to someone and he was extremely helpful. He set my son up to try out the pedals and let him choose a guitar to use. He answered all of our questions. Overall a good experience. read more

I can't express how grateful I am that this store exists. With so many stores going online, I'm happy this brick and mortar store is still around. I went the other day because I had a gig in two days and when my adapters/cables went bad I started to panic because ordering them from Amazon would not get the adapters on time and Radio Shack doesn't exists anymore. I called the Hallendale store and their friendly employee had exactly what I needed and more at a good price. I started looking around at their keyboards and I really liked their selections. I went to the store yesterday to buy a bass amp and a cable for my bass. I don't know how to play but would like to learn...so I HAVE to have these items. I went to the first person available from behind the register, but he informed me he was about to go on break, and gave me to another associate. Fine, that makes sense, although I would hope he'd just seal the deal and grab my items....a man's gotta eat. The next person gave me a nice intro to amps, but disappeared shortly after for the remainder of my trip. I grabbed the amp and the cable and stood by the register....nothing happened! No one talked to me, looked at me, anything! I walked to the disinterested greeter (security guard?) who said I was indeed in the correct location and she would get someone to assist me. I walked back...and...NOTHING HAPPENED!!! No one talked to me, looked at me, a smile...anything... So I left, and now I have a bass amp and cable arriving Friday from Amazon. I expected a little less friendly service given how busy it was, and how big the store was. I was promptly helped with both of the items I bought. I'm getting tired of coming here. I've spent around $2000 in the past 2 months here and literally every time I step Inside this store I'm lucky if I get greeted. You would think that if you buy a couple things you would be treated nice and acknowledged when you walk in the door. I just left after trying 4 times to get the attention of an employee that I have spent well over $1k with in the past month, he didn't even make an attempt to say hi or acknowledge my existence, and he ignored me every time I tried to get his attention after 30 minutes I gave up and left. I'm on the edge of taking my business somewhere else. Cause maybe I won't have to deal with people that don't want to help me. I think I'm going to start shopping at Sweetwater cause they really value their customers. In October, 2017 I went to the Hallandale Guitar Center to buy an acoustic guitar. The selection was pretty good in my price range although they didn't have a few of the most popular Ibanez or Epiphones in that range. I was looking to spend no more than $600 out the door including a hard shell case. Some of the tags stated if cases were included. I settled on a Fender Paramount OM-1 solid mahogany. It's beautiful and plays well even with the Fender strings. The price of $599 did not include a case but that's the choice I made. Here's the typical Guitar Center problem that other people report: I asked the sales guy if there were any guitars in the back still "in the box". He checked and he said no. As the transaction was being completed I asked for a truss rod wrench or warranty paperwork, anything to come with this $600 guitar. He told me that guitars don't come with that stuff "anymore" and that the warranty is available on line. As he handed me the receipt, I saw two items printed on the receipt. One was for the guitar at $473 and the other was for a hard shell case custom for this guitar at $126.99. The sales guy was shocked and came back this time with a beautiful custom Fender Paramount case AND paperwork AND a wrench. Later I saw Fender promotional materials stating the case was included however this Guitar Center didn't know that. My sense is that the salesman couldn't wait to claim his commission and close this sale and get me out of the door. There was no customer service or attention to detail. Moreover, I felt the staff didn't want me to have this case, for some strange reason. I won't go back. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever encountered in my life for any business... Not only are they not knowledgeable, overall this borders on incompetence. All I wanted to do was play a keyboard that I had already researched online... They couldn't even find the plug. I feel as if I should go to the DMV to capture that warm and fuzzy feeling that is missing from this particular store. This was my worst experience buying a guitar. I got there on a Friday night. After trying different acoustic guitars, I chose a Martin 11E Road Series. Service was ok... just that... The model that I had chosen was only available as the floor model. It was scratched. They offered a $50 discount (nothing compared to the price of the guitar). They told me they would ship a brand new one. I left. After a couple of days I received a shipment notification but to my surprise it said it was shipping from this Hallandale store which called my attention as I new there were no more guitars there like the one I wanted BUT the floor model WHICH I HAD CLEARLY SAID THAT I I DID NOT WANT. I called and to my surprise AGAIN they were shipping the same guitar I had rejected. I tried to cancel de order but they said they had already sent it. Now... I'm waiting for a guitar that I HAD EXPRESSLY REJECTED and I have to go all the way to Hallandale again (I'm not close to it) to return it and also I have just found that all Martins like the one I had chosen are available only as floor models at the soreand if I want a brand new one I have to wait for more than a month. I feel so frustrated and mad because these people just underestimated me in a way thinking that I would never realize?????? I've been a customer of Guitar Center for a while now, bought a lot of things there for my Music School and recommended lots of students to go there. Now I know I'll never do that again. Update: I received a call from Randy from the Customer Care department. He did a great job and found a brand new guitar in Utah which promptly shipped to my house. I received it in perfect conditions and before that I had already taken back the one I didn't want. I felt I was a valued customer again specially with Randy's efficient and kind action and also thanks to the great team at the Coconut Creek store where they set up my new guitar and listened carefully to all my endless questions and comments. I recently had an issue with an order that I was feeling frustrated about up until the point I spoke with Doc, a manager here at Hallandale. He worked with me to get what I wanted and I couldn't have been more impressed with his care and professionalism. I'm all the way in Maryland and he treated me as if I was a daily regular at this store. I was a little apprehensive going to Guitar Center based on the reviews because I knew I needed guidance. Bruce helped me find what I thought I wanted on Saturday, a solid body electric guitar. Next day I realized I didn't want that style at all. No problem, I was able to exchange my purchase for an Epiphone semi hollow body guitar with no problem. Of course it co$t more money but I got what I wanted with no hassle. While I was in the store, especially on Saturday, I saw they were short staffed and one had to wait for a salesperson, but when your turn came up you got undivided attention. read more

I can only imagine that this would be a guitar players dream store come true. They have an amazing selection of guitars, organs, drums and the likings. Tons and tons of everything you music players might need. When you walk in the store everyone greets you very nicely and they are ready to help you or answer any questions. Finally hubby found something he wanted and went to pay. We had Jose checking us out and then hubby decided to ask him a couple of things and off they went into organ world...lol!!! Years ago i used to bring my younger brothers with me here. The staff was always cold to us. Maybe because my brothers were in a much lower age group. They do conduct themselves extremely maturely and our visits here were always to try to improve our set up with whatever little budget we had at the time. We lived very close and the more and more we went they seemed to warm up to us. I was never really comfortable there. When i shop for an instrument or piece of equipment i like to enjoy my time there while i try stuff out, be treated nicely, and make a purchase in a good mood. Went here on a whim because we wanted to get our nearly seven year old son a guitar. I also wanted one, but since I am a southpaw this turned out to be more complicated. Staff went out of their way to try and found me a second hand Fender for a hundred bucks.
