I purchased two guitars from Guitar Center Hallandale (2015 Gibson Les Paul Studio and a Takamine GD30 Acoustic Electric. Along with the purchases I have been taking guitar lessons there for around 9 months. Patricio my instructor is extremely patient and an excellent instructor. Granted seems like most of the reviews are negative. I found at this particular store people let you check out the instruments for as long as you like. If you have any questions they are more then happy to help they don't attack you like a used car salesman. read more

Hi dear, I hope you receive my message, it is about the attention that is not for the first time, but already followed times that I have a very bad attention of a person in the spanish customer service, the name is Bianca and # 2488. As a customer of many years I feel entitled to claim very little predisposition and lack of knowledge in professional equipment, repeatedly I had to ask another assistant and have to hang up because he does not know brands of guitars or other gears and is very difficult. to be able to deal with people who lack advice. I think it is a place for experts and people with very good attention to clients (like me) that we spend thousands of dollars in gear every year. Regrettably, it leaves a lot of attention in Spanish, other companies such as sweetwater have an attention, follow-up, they go out of their way to leave the customer satisfied and to buy again with them, here it seems they do not want you to come back and do not mind doing something so that you are happy ... I am a client of Guitar Center for more than 20 years and unfortunately has changed a lot and not for good. Unfortunately I have to let you know how bad they make me feel every time I buy something online with attendees or at the store, instead of solving situations they complicate them more, having to return products in poor condition, they tell you something on website and by phone, the prices are higher, + tax and they say they fund like other companies and when you pay only 6 months, the coupons that you send do not qualify, etc ... I have credit and sometimes I am forced to buy since the Halendalle store is very close to me and I do it for nesecidad. This week I had several insidents, I bought a PA JBL boxed like new and came lined in the front, and one of the accessories, I bought a Cordoba thin body guitar, I went to the store so there were no problems and I never received a tracking number, call and nobody attends you, they tell you to wait and they leave you more than 20 minutes online so that you cut and do not bother anymore ... last night I tried to buy an online software and the website never worked, today I call spanish and they answer me once but this assistant Bianca and I consult him if he can frisk the price with the promotion that is valid in waves and other sites, which give the option to pay more months and he said he could not, I told him that other times they gave me that option and he answered that in no way and that he was going to write a note to let me know that they did not give me any kind of promotion because they could not and that they were going to change other purchases that I made previously, a badly educated one, with attitude and lack of respect I asked him for his identity He told me that if I did not like him to talk to a supervisor, he left me waiting in line, the call fell, they never called me again, I called them again and they told me that supervisor Carlos was busy. Once again I waste my time trying to buy them, giving them a new opportunity to claim and still the same people who do not seem to want the company to work excellently for their clients. I hope it will serve some manager and take action on the matter as I am forced once again not to buy anything back at Guitar Center or leave them as a last option. Most unprofessional company I've ever dealt with. Confirmed an order I had online saying they had it. Week later (when it was already suppose to arrive) sends an email saying that it's back ordered that they never even had it in stock. Week passes by nothing updating my order just spam emails trying to sell me more stuff. I call customer service they tell me it's being shipped in two days. I call after 5 more days and they say they have no idea when it's coming that it could be a week or two more. As if these answers I'm suppose to just accept. Also assuming I'm going to be available where I'm at for months when I have a trip I'm going to that I needed it for!! I tell the customer service if there's someone I can speak to that can give me an answer she says sorry we don't have contact information for any of the other departments?!? (Makes no sense right) then I ask her if she's even in this country and she says no the customer service center they're calling from is from the Philippines?!? So not only are they not hiring people from this country who desperately need jobs right now they're going the cheap route and outsourcing people that have no idea what's going on. I felt bad for the customer service lady because it's not her fault. But for me as the customer is absolutely insane. That's like me handing someone over 300 dollars they tell me they're coming right back with what I ordered. I'm standing there for weeks waiting not knowing what's going on. Haven't heard anything so by that point I'm coming to the conclusion that I have been scammed and robbed. I ordered the other pieces to my set from Sweet Water, it was the best customer service I've ever experienced. They even sent me a goody bag with my order and it came in less than 3 days! read more

Am writing this second hand, it was not my experience. The $ figures are correct. Friend went in there to sell a nice vintage nice original 1961 Fender reverb amp. After taking it apart and haggling a bit along with a 3 hour wait, they offered him no more than$500 which, not knowing any better, he took. They told him"they are for sale all over the place for $650, the market is really soft etc." the usual lines of BS. Folks, I know a bit about amps and I know how to punch in EBay on my puter. The piece is minimum $3000, prolly $3500. i realize they need to make a profit, even a nice profit. But they out and out F'ed him. Awful and they DON'T CARE! I went in just now to purchase a Fender Guitar. Some guy standing at the front door wants to treat you like your in kindergarten telling you to wear your "mask at all times" and obstruct your entrance to the store while he performs Dr. Fauci on you. Mask was already on! I really want to patronize LOCAL business as a result of Covid, but this guy went too far! Yelling at me to return as I'm heading back to my car to get out of there. We get it buddy, we've all been doing this Covid thing for months and we are NOT children. Can't believe they pay that guy to drive business away. Be cheaper to just close the doors and quit paying him. The solution to that - Amazon. No hassle, good or better prices, no fool treating you like a baby, no gas expense, easy returns. Be my guest and go out of business. I tried. And of course, the obligatory "sorry you had poor customer service....." from Kenneth T busines owner which is just an automated response and another demonstration that this place does NOT CARE! I use to go into this store, when I had no money, well actually it was the Miami stores but hell, Guitar center don't change. They are the best of the best, when I past buy, I always ask myself "do I need anything from here?" my head always turns in traffic when I see this store.Because it makes your blood rush and you think, I am finally a rock star, whenever you enter it. read more

I have been to many guitar centers across the country, with good experiences. The Hallandale, FL store, however, is pathetic. I needed a simple set up done on my strat, so the very nice guy at the counter said, sure no problem, we will do it right now while you wait if you have an hour or 2. I agreed, and went on to do what we all like to do...check out new stuff. I was in the market for an electronic drum kit anyway, so off I went. Not one sales person in the drum department even tried to help me, they were busy talking to each other about drumeo and a few drum off competitions, definitely not interested in selling a drum kit. Fine, I left to check on my strat, only to find out that no no no...no one will work on my strat until tomorrow, the tech left already. Ok, no biggie, we agreed that they would call me when its done. A week later and after several unsuccessful calls from me to them I decided to go get my guitar no matter if its done or not, I'm going to take it somewhere else to get it done. When I got there, I found out that they actually did finish it days ago, but supposedly had no paperwork on it...then they proceeded to try and charge me 180 bucks (100 more) for some repair that was never performed (nothing needed to be repaired, it just needed the setup). I asked for the explanation of what repair they were talking about...of course no one knew about that (how could they since no repair was performed). Anyway, I agreed to pay 90 for the platinum set up and strings (I was told they were included when I dropped it off, but whatever), grabbed my guitar and left. I will never go back to this location again. Oh Yeah...I did buy a new drum kit too...just not form guitar center. My recommendation...do not frequent this store unless you have to. read more

Big, loud, corporate music chain where everyone knows how to butcher a Metallica song. Guitar Center features a huge assortment of solid state amps and a decent amount of all expensive, all tube amps. Despite the preponderance of sales throughout the year, Guitar Center doesn't offer many quality amps at low prices. Musicians, be warned. Use them only if you have a hankering for playing or listening to wannabe Malmsteems jam on loud stacks. On the upside, they do usually have an abundance of footswitches to try at any given time. read more

Terrible Customer service. I am a 54yr old male. I have been drumming for 40 years. I am finally shopping for an electronic set. My adult daughter and I went back to the demo area and found little kids beating the life out of these multi thousand dollar drums. It was obvious their father was using the drums has a babysitter. Anyway, we wait till the kids finally step away and get a chance to sit down and try out the kit. Low and behold, a snotty young lady has the nerve to come over and rudely say...5minutes on the demo's only. Now, I am in commission sales and I can say that she has got be the dumbest, worst salesperson ever. Not a, "Hey! let's send you home with this today!" Not even, "May I help you?". Just an attitude. Of course I asked to talk to a manager that looked all of 23yrs old. I am sure he went to her an chastised her for her terrible salesmanship. I will never, ever spend another dime here or any GC. If she's an example of the employee's they are comfortable hiring and retaining...no way. Btw, I bought a set from their competition a few miles away. Bad customer service and shady business practices are the two best terms to describe this store. I had purchased a new audio interface online to be picked up at the store and was given one with the seal broken and piece of equipment missing. when I went back to the store they so happened to have that exact piece lying around. keep in mind I bought NEW not open box. Then on top of that, when I went to inquire about getting a guitar repaired I was rudely cut off by one of the employees trying to pawn me off to someone else and waited over 20 minutes to be seen even though it was 5pm and the store was practically empty, just to be told that there was nothing they can do at the store because they don't have a guitar tech. i would have called to find out this information, however, whenever I do call, im put on hold for over 10 minutes at a time. I'm very disappointed in this store. For their employees being rude, for selling me used gear while calling it new, and having to wait because they were understaffed to handle more than 2 customers at a time. such a shame considering the fact that this is one of the VERY FEW music shops in broward. I have had multiple bad experiences here but after the third time, I need to let people know about this abysmal excuse of a business. The first time I came here wanting to know how much my 1979 Gibson Les Paul Custom was worth. They gave me a price which was low but since they are a big chain, I cam understand that. What I didn't like was how another customer was teasing me and telling the employees that it is so dusty they should offer me 20 bucks. The employees also had a laugh at a customer who has purchased many items from them before. My second experience I brought in a PRS and the female employee offered me a price which I declined, then when I came back 2 days later another employee offered $200 less and when I asked why it is less now. He told me the other employee didn't know what she was doing. I went to Sam Ash and they gave me a fair price. My worst experience however was when I came in to sell my Godin LGX guitar. I called them beforehand and they told me to just come on in and they'll help me out. I waited 2 HOURS!!!! for somebody to finally take a look at my guitar and tell me they're not interested. I am not mad that they didn't want the instrument. That's business, but to make me wait for 2 hours because one guy had to run out the door to lunch and the manager was apparently dealing with a bathroom flood. Forgot to mention when I sold them my Jem guitar a while ago and after accepting it, told me to hold on and they will get me the check. Again, waited for an hour and a half. I don't know how most guitar centers are but this one is a joke and should be avoided. read more
