First time experience coming up to June Lake for the weekend and it was such a lovely getaway…read more Shoutout to my friend for taking me and showing me around. I know for a lot of people this is a nostalgic place that they grew up coming to as kids and have kept the tradition alive coming every year and so on. June lake is absolutely beautiful and breathtaking during the winter when there is snow. My friend has come here all year round and definitely agreed coming in the winter is like a wonderland. It was well worth the 5 hour drive to see snow and be in a cold and beautiful environment. While I'm sure it's lovely in the spring and summer, I'm looking for something I don't have close to home (which would be snow) so I'd definitely consider coming back again in those winter months. June lake is such a sleepy and quiet little area, it's very relaxing and calm. I felt safe being there and navigating the downtown. It's super small as far as the downtown goes, only a handful of restaurants and motels. Great for a solo traveler or someone wanting to wander around by foot. The lakes and mountains surrounding this town are picturesque and stunning. Having been to mammoth and now June lake id say if you want something more relaxing and small town vibes I'd prefer June lake over mammoth. It's got less action but if you are looking to just get away, snowboard/ski, and recharge - this is the perfect vacation destination to check out.

Great lake. The one star is for the gate lady. She said lake was full and come back in 4 hours or…read moretomorrow. We asked another nice man if we could park somewhere else and walk to the lake and he said yes. We parked about half mile away and walked to the lake. When we got down there we found plenty of open parking spots. Nobody monitors how many come in and how many come out so how do they know if there is no parking. We didn't mind the walk but what was disappointing is the gate lady did not even suggest that. She just said its full and that we could not come in. She even tried to compair June lake to tahoe and say it fills up and gets busy quick. LOL sorry to tell you lady but tahoe could drop one tear and over fill june lake and tahoe don't tell people beach is full come back. That just doesn't happen at tahoe.

Stayed here for 2 nights over Labor Day weekend at site #10…read more The site has a fire pit, picnic table, and bear box. The sites all seemed to be on the smaller, cramped side and a bit dusty, but overall clean. Deer liked hanging around the campsites as did the wasps. The single occupancy flush toilets were clean and in good condition despite a busy weekend. They had a cleaning chart on the door so people came in frequently to clean it. Good campground near Gull Lake and June Lake if you don't mind a smaller site!

Be warned: if you visit here in 2020, you will hear helicopters all day starting at 7 am. They are…read moreinstalling new power poles and will be all Summer. The good: nice big tables, good fire ring, easy access to water and clean restrooms. Area is pretty, and it's close to the lake. The host is very friendly and informative, and sells fire wood. The bear boxes are big and work well. Sites have pull through parking, so it's very easy to park. Most of the sites have decent shade in the daytime. Short walk to gull lake. The bad: sites are not private at all. Sitting in my site, I can see directly into no fewer than 9 other sites. It's also right off the June Lake Loop, which means cars are very audible at all hours. I was also awakened this morning by a helicopter flying very low at 7 am. It has continued running laps all day. The host informed me that they're replacing power poles with more sturdy ones. This is a good thing, but not for campers in 2020! Be warned. Overall, with the exception of the helicopters, this campground is fine. I'm giving it 4 stars because I really can't hold the helicopter noise against the campground.

And it's so easy to just be able to walk down the hill to the lake and beach without having to pay $10 (if you can even find parking) in the regular beach lots. There was hardly anyone there last week bc it was just a soft opening but you could see that they were putting in a lot of work to get the spaces cleaned up before the holiday. Honestly, clearing pine cones and pine needles from the RV slabs seemed to be most of the remaining work needed IMO. The bathrooms and showers were clean, and the people working were friendly and helpful.

We are so happy to be back!…read more We were longtime customers and were really bummed when the campground closed a few years ago. It's now under new management, and we're excited to see it open again. Dana and Mike are working hard to bring the campground up to date while maintaining its welcoming atmosphere. The campsites are quiet, the bathrooms are spotless, and the showers are hot with incredible water pressure. There's also a convenient camp store where you can pick up any necessities you may have forgotten. I can't say enough good things about this campground. Whether you're dry camping in a tent, staying at a water and electric tent site, or bringing your trailer or RV, this is a fantastic place to stay. We're excited to see where Dana and Mike take this resort in the years ahead. Thank you for bringing this wonderful campground back!

I saw these two young boys by the water. It looked so pretty. Great location, the BBQ is at the playground across from the thrift shop.

Lots of people came, besides the raffle, and eating they had numerous egg toss games for the adults and kids, it was pretty funny.
