Update on the campground, the owner Sandra passed away last summer and did not leave a will. The property is now in probate. Campground did not open for this year. Only place around here with full hook ups. Old school, campers been coming here for 30 plus years. Sandra was a bit rough around the edges but you have to be a tough sob to run a place like this by yourself. The government will most likely take over this campground, good luck finding a reservation. Been camping here for about 12 years. Pine Cliff resort has been an outstanding destination of ours for several years. My wife and I absolutely appreciate the kind, courteous and very helpful staff. They have RV hookups, laundry and showers that are always kept clean and well stocked. They also have a nice little store that to my amazement has a great selection of sone of my favorite fishing tackle. I honestly wouldn't write this due to giving up one of our secret get aways but the staff here definitely deserve to be recognized. read more

I see a lot of negative reviews here but my experience has been great. It's old school for sure with mostly retired folks working here at min wage. The facility is 50 years old and runs on a lease from US Forest Service. Reservations can only be made by calling. They are not on recreation.gov or elsewhere. Once you get here you'll find tent and RV sites. Full hook ups including sewage. Bathrooms are old and worn but they work. Showers and laundry require coins. Oh and this is cash only place. They do have a small store and atm. The best part is it's close to the beach, all sites have shade from tall pines, and campfires must be out by 10. Quiet hours at 10:30. Some reviews really don't like that but I really appreciate it. So many campgrounds turn into party central for big groups/families so it's really nice to have a campground that enforces quiet hours. Other campgrounds claim to have quiet hours but actually don't. read more

The customer service was a 0/5. Every campground in June Lake was full and my bf and I stumbled across this one. The campground itself is really beautiful, but the customer service was not it. First of all, they charge a tax. Every other campground has had a flat rate of $28.00 but this place is $28+TAX. The tax wasn't posted anywhere and was only mentioned when we were trying to pay. Also it was cash only and there weren't ATMS. Honestly all of this would've been fine if the lady helping us (can't remember her name) was friendly but she was rude and trying to rush us. We have been camping at Pine Cliff RV Park for most of the past 55 years... actually almost every year since 1967. The campsites/RV-spaces are OUTSTANDING! Where else can you find RV spaces literally cut out of a beautifully mature and dense pine forest providing full hook-ups (water, sewer & electric) as well as a safe campfire ring (old washer tub) at every RV space. Using washer tubs is genius... the holes in the tub allows the heat of the campfire to radiate to everyone around the ring while keeping the actual flames safely contained inside the tub. When you visit be sure to bring graham crackers, marshmallows and Hershey bars so that you can make s'mores with your neighbors, new friends or old friends reconnecting again as you sit around the campfire. This has been our favorite get away place for our family for a couple of generations. For health and age problems we can no longer spend time at our favorite summertime destination. Just got back from Pine Cliff Resort and loved our first visit to June Lake, however will NEVER go back to Pine Cliff Resort until I know for a fact that it is under new management/ownership. Very rude, and the way reservations are handled is very disorganized. To be honest, the grounds are somewhat confusing as well; even with a map, trying to navigate through several trees was a little confusing.... I guess that's the way people feel they can treat people when it's a "privately owned" resort. I sure have not experienced that any other places i've been; and we are a frequent outdoorsy type family! So beware all..... just hang on a couple more weeks until the reserve america or federal campgrounds open up.... it'll be worth it. read more

First off the only reason this place is receiving a 2 star is because it was the only campsite we could find available. I would only camp here again if I was desperate. Go to Oh Ridge! The man running the campsite there is so nice and it's closer to June beach. *Perks* There is water pumps and outlets in some of the campsites. We paid about $33 a night for those to be included. 3 min to June Beach *Negatives* First off the staff was sweet and sour. One taller blonde lady was super nice! Another blonde lady with a bob was rude to two of my friends. There was multiple encounters with her that showed us she was truly rude. She even walked away from another customer because the customer was expressing how she didn't like to be treated. She yelled at my friend for going into the campsite and said she was not welcome when all she did was come in to drop something off and was on her way out. The lady was standing guard. She also yelled at my friend saying "you didn't check in with me." Yeah no we did not check in with her, we checked in with another lady. We were also yelled at for coming in past 8pm when it was only 7:30pm! The man in the golf cart was helpful but also very rude. He told my friend his dog would eat her dog with no problem. I've never experienced a campsite where I felt like I was a child. They go around at 10 pm to make sure your campfires are out! Like you can't even enjoy your time together. I've never ever experienced that in my life and I have been camping a lot. Idk if thats a new thing or what. They also charged about $5 extra for each person camping and each dog that stayed, plus your nightly fee. We even got yelled at for having an extra car when we were the ones being honest going in to pay for the extra car! It's $5 for extra cars per night. read more

Positives: Last minute booking over a weekend. Staff was fine, looking at past reviews I'd say they're definitely working on their customer service. No one was rude, they were all pretty kind. Short walk to June Lake. Lots of beautiful trees. Convenient store was well stocked. It's really old school. Cons: We couldn't use our air conditioning due to electrical restrictions. It's was 80 something while we were there. We couldn't use our generator at all. You're not allowed to leave your pets in your R.V. We love our pets but there are shorts trips where we'd rather not take them on. This restricted our families exploring. It's really old school. If the staff kept the customer service up, updated the electrical and didn't call shots on what was in our personal rigs, I don't see why this place couldn't be just as great as Oh Ridge! We didn't have to use the restroom or laundry facilities, so I can't comment on that. read more

This the best campsite around. The view is the best and it is conveniently located to mammoth, Yosemite and many lakes and streams for fishing. I have been coming here for about 5 years now and now other places beats the ambience Reason for giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the rude staff and lack of organization with reservations. The owners are old and crotchety but it is what it is. If you can get passed that, then your golden! The best suggestion I can give Is rent a trailer and have it dropped off for you at the campsite. NO POSTED RIDICULOUS RULES to read while you wait forever to check in. So you can leave this Nazi run private "resort". Do not tell you Campfires out at 10pm. No motorcycles or Razors, even though you ride in on a Harley & put your helmet on the check in counter, this is your mode of transportation and has all your gear. MUST PUSH THEM to campsite and then PAST ENTRANCE THEN START. Or park them at office parking lot and walk your gear to campsite. They patrol the campsites around 10pm and make you pore gallons of water on your fire at 10pm. Tell you it's a fire LAW! (Lie) . BTW Sunset is about 8:45 in June. When you ask politely ask questions, the owners response is yelling "I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK" then baits you into a confrontation. You remain polite, try to get an honest answer, but responses are bitter banshee lies. To top everything off, she came to our campsite the evening before our departure date with the police! She yelled all of the above in front of the officer. Asked us how we got this campsite for our trailer, told us we weren't suppose to hook up to the water. We were flabbergasted, Hello! The office assigned us this electric/power site we picked after verifying our trailer length, etc. BECAUSE when we made our reservation for our 27' trailer they assigned us a 24' foot site. She kept on rambling, screaming in her banshee voice. The police officer observed all of this, and it was agreed upon we will be out of here in the morning by the 10:00AM check out time, never to return. Owner & her golf cart driver left. The officer was pleasant & respectful We were glad the officer was there. ALSO, unsanitary bathrooms without soap & toilet paper. They only put 4 rolls on in am. Have to bring your own toilet paper & a Clorox wipe to clean the toilet seat. Disgusting & Filthy unsanitary showers. Etc etc. There is so much more just plain WRONG about this shady place and I don't mean the trees. read more

They demean, lie, and harass our guests who rent trailers from us. All the trailer rental businesses no longer bring trailers to this campground because of the rude owners. My friend came to meet us at our campsite and the tyrannical owner ran to her car and yelled at her that she needed a permit and proceeded to kick my friend out. We heard her yelling at many campers throughout the day. It is also very dirty and not well maintained. The bathrooms were disgusting and showers were gross. We came into town in a holiday weekend and had NO luck with MANY other RV resorts/campgrounds. Pine Cliff had one last one available, so we jumped on it! The office and store staff were very nice. We liked the location as it's close to a lot of places (Yosemite, June Lake beach, mammoth...). Has laundry, which we needed as we are currently living in and traveling in our trailer. The full hook-ups were nice as well. Tight spots, a little confusing to locate and tough to park in, but very doable. read more

Awesome place for amateur campers in June Lake, CA. Had a lot of fun camping here with family and friends. The camping spots were cheap $28 per day, Parking fee was $5 per day, shower and laundry cost $1 each and the general store was convenient and was open until 8 pm. They have ice , camping necceties and groceries. It's located close to the lake and not far from the main highway. The only negative I saw was the bathrooms were not that many and it wasn't clean as much . Other than that we had so much fun and will definitely come back for more. read more

Stayed there three nights a couple of years ago. Fire "pits" were old washing machine tubs, pretty hockey. NO BEAR BOXES in the eastern Sierra! Each night a bear came into the camp for snacks and left satisfied ( not our camp though, we know what to do). Filthy bathrooms and showers. This year, I tried to drive in and see if things were any better. Before I even reached the office/store, I was set upon by the famous dragon lady yelling at me and refusing entry. We asked for a site that accommodates 2 tents, 2 cars and 7 people. We paid for everything while on a.previous trip for our next trip. When we arrived the site they gave us wasn't even big enough to fit 2 tents, let alone cooking/eating and no room at all for either vehicle. When I went to ask to be moved I was initially greeted with an if you don't like them leave attitude. After going back and forth and just pleading our case for 20 minutes they decided to give us a larger space. That's not the worst part though. They would not use the money we paid for the first spot and I had to pay for the second spot because guess what? We had no other options since we thought we had a spot and everything else all the way to silver lake was booked. We made the best of it but will never go back there we usually camp in reversed creek or silver lake and it's our mistake trying these old ass mafia dons for a trip. Sucks they still get as much business as they do, but it's because there aren't many options. read more

Just came back from camping at Pine Cliff and it was great. I was leery of the reviews I found online, but from experience I do not prejudge. Found the place easy to find. Gas station in front of General Store, entrance to store and one for reservations. Walked into the reservation office and found one person helping someone on the phone and one helping another camper. Both at different times let me know they would help me in a minute. Good customer service cannot be rushed. Once the person was off the phone, she began to assist me. Found our information and gave us a map. She told me that if we had any problems, just come up to the office. Tables and fire pits often get moved around and we may need notify the office have items brought in. Arrived at our site and were a little confused on our site for minute. It happened that the group next to us borrowed our table, which was very close to the water we were suppose to have. We went to the office so they could send someone to help us with the layout of our site. Steve came over and helped us figure things out. Steve was a very nice guy, we never found our outlet but we ended up borrowing the neighbors. Even swap, Steve brought us a table and fire pit. Let us know about the ice cream social that evening and not to miss out. We got our tent up and tarp up within minutes. We were very impressed, including Steve. After shopping in Mammoth we came back and enjoyed the ice cream social. Waiting in line for 10-15 minutes and found Steve and a few other employees serving ice cream. Rocky Road, mint and chip, spumoni, chocolate, and quality ice cream too. I asked how many scoops we could get and they said as many as we wanted. People came with bowls, but they gave out cones as well. All for 50 cents, what a deal. We met a few nice people while in line. As we walked back to our camp, a lot of people were out walking around, it must have been the church group camping at the same time, so it seemed as if anyone was out. We went back and forth to the general store, everything there was reasonably priced. If you see something you like and its a bargain, you best get it, you won't see it later on. Restrooms were cleaned several times a day. If you are messy overnight and they see it a mess in the morning, they will lock the restrooms at 9 pm that night. Fair enough, it teaches people not to be inconsiderate of others. Restrooms were not closed at any time of our stay. Showers were clean, $1 for 5 minutes. Long enough for me, I turned it off before the water ran out. They do not have any bear boxes, that is one thing that I have to mention. You need to keep your food and coolers in your car covered. We heard coyotes, bears, and seen deer. The bears went to each dumpster and tipped them trying open them. They go to each one around the park. Usually my husband would be freaking out, but he was pretty chill on this camping trip. The bears did go through the campground every night we were there, no cars were broken into. We did hear that the bears are getting into homes, so be careful. There is so much to do here, play basketball, hike, fish, go to town. We will differently come back to this place. I stayed in a tent and not RV for two nights and a few people with RVs and one renting an RV from the site complained about utilities not working. The site I had was good- in the back of the site and kind of out of the way. I read reviews stating how rude the staff is- not sure if they are rude but rather not happy with their job. They are short and abrupt in their interactions. The store is well stocked BUT the location is dirty, especially the restrooms, which were not cleaned during my stay. We were all literally together and I think that was Amazing!! The staff was friendly in my opinion. I have no complaints, there were showers, laundry areas, a store with almost anything you need. Fire pits and tables were provided. The camps is very clean. Some spots are a little bit bigger than others but still spacious. The beach is about a 5-10 minutes walk or a 2 minutes drive and the views are breathtaking with plenty of beach space. I would highly recommend this camp. read more

We came to June Lake on a Thursday- Monday and was lucky to get a full hook up site here. The lady that checked us in was extremely pleasant and helpful! All the other staff we encountered were nice and fun to chat with. We had a great site!! Some are closer together-then others, but many are spaced well! Campground was clean and quiet. The restrooms were clean mid week, can't say how they were on the weekend with lots of tent campers as they use them mostly and from what I saw, don't pick up after themselves very well! (Gotta do your part people) I appreciate the staff that rode around at 10 to remind others to put out fires and turn off load music! Wish they would have told people to turn off outside lights on trailers when they went to bed so you can enjoy the amazing star gazing. We had to walk down to the lake so we weren't blinded by the bright led and twinkle light some inconsiderate people left on all night. We had a site where it was quiet with no tents close by. Overall we would definitely come back and enjoy this hidden gem! Loved you could walk down to the lake to enjoy it. read more

They LOST our reservation paperwork and instead of apologizing for the inconvenience they ARGUED with my family and I and repeatedly decided to tell us that it's our fault and they are never wrong. After hours of anger and confusion I finally decided to talk back and they looked distraught and surprised that I had the balls to talk to them that way. They FINALLY found our reservation exactly where it was supposed to be and still didn't apologize, tried to RECHARGE US ANOTHER 250 dollars claiming we hadn't paid yet. Wow. These people do not know the definition of customer service. Most of the employees are rude and sour. The showers are a scam. They promise 7 minutes of shower time but at least one of those showers turns off after ~3 minutes. Additionally, the RV parking spots are horrendous. Backing into the tiny spot between two trees was an absolute nightmare for my parents with their 37 footer. Laundry is way overpriced at 2 dollars/load to wash and 2 dollars to dry. Additionally, why the fuck is the camp store cash only? It's 2017! People use debit and credit for most purchases. I'm not a damn drug dealer. And I'm not trying to pay steep ATM fees all the time. God damn! We still had fun and didn't let these things get in the way of our enjoyment. Still though, there are a million ways to improve this place and the old, bitter idiots running the place should get their heads out of their asses and implement some modern amenities. My family came to this "resort" to spend an enjoyable time at the lake. What we came across was a place packed, like so packed that we had to squeeze our huge RV into the smallest spot ever. We had another trailer park next to us for the rest of our group. But the trailer came hours late my family was eaten alive by mosquitos while waiting. Then we asked to move spots to accommodate the size of our vehicles. There were plenty of open spaces but the costumer service told us they were full. That was a load of BS. The costumer service sucked and they give no regard about how your stay is. All they want is your money! Then our sewer line broke. Why? Because everything here is from 1959and any repair has been a bandaid job. However, the gentlemen that did work on the sewer were fenomenal and got the job done by working relentlessly. Which brings me to my last point. Everything is old here!!! You cannot use a bunch of appliances because each spot only holds 20 Volts! You are forbidden to use air conditioning. And there is not Wifi here at all. If anyone tells you that this place is a good place to stay, they are lying through their teeth. Everything about this "resort" sucks. And if it's not, you will be told rudely to put it out even though you have perfectly good wood burning. Who puts out fires at 10 pm while camping?! This was our 1st trip to June Lake. We, my husband and I reserved one of the "trailers" that we were were warned were not nice, but cheap, and better than a tent.... so ok here goes. The day we arrived, upon walking in to this trailer, we were instantly forced out by the strong odor of natural gas. Something was leaking. We walked to the office and someone was called to come take a look. The nice man came, said he "couldn't smell it" but went through the motions to make sure we were not going to explode. Told us it was ok, and went on his way. We went fishing, came back, gas again! This time a different maintenance man came to look. He was very helpful and polite. He then what it seemed fixed the issue. He did a lot to make sure there was no more leaks. So were started unpacking, looking around, only to find mouse poo everywhere....I get it WE ARE IN THE MOUNTAINS... but to who ever thinks it's OK in any way to sleep on a bed with mouse poo, cook on a counter with mouse poo, breath in mouse poo dust, or shower with mouse poo is disgusting. As soon as i cleaned the kitchen counters and walked away, there was new poo. NOT OK. I didn't know this place was in the business of renting out disgusting, dilapidated, rodent infested, creepy trailers as a destination for us just trying to have a nice vacation. Again, we get that we are in the mountains, but this is unacceptable, and no one should ever stay in the trailers. Don't bring your kids there, totally unhealthy. We had to sleep in our truck the 1st night as there was no one to help us with the returning gas leak after hours, and were would have died in there if we slept inside. So scary, and such a bummer. They came the next day to try and fix again, and I asked them to just turn the gas off in fear of an explosion. It was not getting fixed and I was tired of it. So now, no stove to use for cooking, the heater didn't even work in the 1st place (they brought us space heaters) so all cooking had to be done over the fire pit which would have been ok if we had brought supplies for that. We were not prepared to grill all our food. They brought us down a small charcoal grill, we had to buy coals, and could not cook much of what we brought on the grill. The only cool part about this place was the super nice camp host that tried over and over to help us (the other men who worked there seemed frustrated with our request for help with the gas leak! REALLY???) the beautiful scenery, the not too expensive prices at the little store they have. Oh... and if you would like to kick it by your fire after 10pm, stay somewhere else. A rude guy will come up, and smugly tell you to put out your fire with a smile while he stands and watches, with pleasure, and acts like a jerk.
