Serving popular items from Japan, Hawaii, and Taiwan. If your an Anime lover you will definitely feel like your in your element. You can sit down and watch your favorite anime show, while having some noodles! Something that's cool is every table has colored pencils and sketchpads. They have board games and Japanese arcade . This truly is a fun place, and I can see where this would be a good hang. This was our first time here. It's been a rainy day so this seemed perfect. Whats for dinner? Shoyu Ramen Chicken: Chicken with broth flavored lightly with sweet soy sauce. Topped with protein, egg, green onion, sliced seaweed, garlic oil, spinach with a Vanilla Boba. Everything was great, and I plan on returning in a few days actually! Very clean, staff was nice.

I would like to start off this review by saying I wish I had gone here sooner. The establishment is well run and the food comes out almost immediately. They have a fast menu of drinks, Ramen, and poke bowl. We had the Poké bowls and they were phenomenal and reminded me of a place in town that used to have them. You can order exactly what you want on a sheet and give it to the cashier or you may order a premade menu item. we did not order any other items but will come back with my daughter who loves Boba and Ramen. When we sat down, we noticed that the tables all have sketchbook colored pencils to draw while you wait on your food. When your food is ready, they will buzz your buzzer and you will go and acquire whatever utensils you may need. The setting is a little overwhelming at first as the menu has a lot to offer, but otherwise the setting is down and cozy.

Thoroughly enjoyed my poke lunch! I ordered delivery so I can't speak to the atmosphere, but my delivery driver was awesome! The food was great. I got several different sauces with the spicy salmon and spicy tuna. It was a generous portion with fresh ingredients. I especially loved the spicy mayo and creamy wasabi. The peach sauce was too sweet for my liking, but since it was on the side, no problem! I do wish there'd been more cherry tomatoes, but there was plenty of edamame and black beans. I did enjoy the milk crush, mango with chocolate boba. At $7.99 for delivery, I don't think I'll order it again though, but it's probably cheaper when you don't order through GrubHub. I did discover I don't like the boba, but that's on me. My order was exactly as ordered, and for two proteins and portion size, it was fairly priced. I definitely want to try more items!

If there is something I am not "Gung Ho" about this place is the tip. On what planet does the service provided at Gung Ho justify leaving a tip. You order at the counter and then is given a beeper. You pick up the food at the counter when it's ready and then find a table to eat. This is 99% self service so DO NOT feel obligated to tip. Should there even be an tip option? If there is, it SHOULD NOT exceed 10%. The best feature about Gung Ho is it's hip and trendy. I love the Japanese anime and the artwork decorations inside. There is a sketch book available at each table and various games available inside. If you're a fan of Japanese anime, you will love this place. The ramen is good, not the best but good enough to recommend. The boba tea is comparable to SOME other boba tea shops, pretty average. Poke bowls are also available as well which I haven't tried.

We recently tried Gung Ho for the first time, and it is a hit in my book. In fact, we found ourselves back here for a 2nd trip within a week or so of our first visit, because the kimchi fries are that addictive. The service has been very friendly and helpful each visit. The workers are personable and take the time to give you some guidance and recommendations for the Boba or tea drink flavor combos ( there are a lot of options.) The look and ambiance of this restaurant is a lot of fun as well. I love all of the anime art and the bright colors juxtaposed with the bamboo looking wood. As mentioned earlier, the kimchi fries are amazing and would be fit for any pirate king! I would be happy just eating those. It is a good sized order and enough to share for an appetizer. We have also tried the ramen, which was tasty, especially love the way they do their fried chicken here. You can also create your own sushi burrito here, which we did, and it was delicious. It kind of fell apart after a few bites, but it was so good, you don't really mind. Just grab some chopsticks or a fork and enjoy it. I think this is the first place new place that we have tried that I have been excited about in a long time. And now...I'm craving those kimchi fries after writing this!

Everything we get here is always fresh and delicious! The GF ramen is so good. And the poke bowl is amazing.

Still love the food and service here. So yummy and pretty healthy, some lean protein salmon with veggies galore. I'm also a fan of the sauce options. Everything just goes well: savory with variety of textures with the slight warmth of rice mmm Fun time with a friend for dinner! SpyxFamily playing on one tv and showcase of art doodles on another. Cute!

Tonkotsu Ramen - spicy pork...so delicious

I love having a place like this in south Tulsa! I first tried the ramen on one or wicked cold spells and it hit the spot. I chose the spicy pork ramen and it was delicious. The staff is friendly and does a great job getting orders out quickly. Their kimchi fries are yummy too...no pic, I dug in to quickly. It's a clean and nice place. Every table has sketch pads and pencils which was a nice way to pass time while waiting on food. Five stars because I love having fresh food options like this and the food/service has been consistently good!

Coconut Milk Tea - they use non dairy creamer, yay!
    Courtney E.

We really enjoyed our first visit and plan to go back soon! I ordered the Vegetarian Ramen and a Coconut Milk Tea (non dairy), and hubby and I shared the Kimchi Fries. Everything was excellent! The Kimchi Fries could be a meal on their own, they're super delicious! The Coconut Milk Tea was so creamy and flavorful, I loved it. The workers were nice and the restaurant was very clean. Every table had sketch books and colored pencils if anyone wanted to leave a drawing. The sketch books seemed pretty full so they might need to switch them out for fresh ones. The price of our meal was a little more than we expected but we did have leftovers with the portion sizes so it evened out. We are definitely going to visit again!

This is the second location for Gung Ho and it's just as good as the original in Tulsa Hills. Food is always flavorful. The service is always wonderful and welcoming. I love the anime theme and the ability to draw while waiting for your food

The ramen and service are both great! It's hard to believe we have a ramen place on this side of town. The atmosphere has a great anime vibe.

The server/host did a great job of being super friendly and talkative along with making sure we were well informed on the menu and hearing we made good choices on our food selections. We ordered the stuffed jalapeños - which if you go, You must get!! For rolls we got 1. Tulsa Roll 2. Fire Dragon Roll 3. Tornado Roll (fried) All were so tasty, each in their own way. We were super impressed all around and will be back. I can't stop thinking about the stuffed jalapeños

Speaking of flavor, I'm sure the special blended soy sauce played a major part. On top of that, there's chili sauce at the table & that right there has a Shawn Michaels super kick to it. With the bowl being full of chicken along with the other components like fish cake, seaweed, bamboo shoots, green onion & a soft boiled egg (that's also flavored)... it's not even an overload. It's flavor on top of flavor on top of flavor. I couldn't even finish it & took it to-go. My waitress was super nice & the wait on my food didn't take long (they had a mini lunch rush when I got here). Outside of ramen, there's so much to choose from. Whether you're in the mood for ramen, sushi, bowls, etc... this is your spot. I was having a headache & really needed some food to help get rid of it (I was also in the area). Ramen usually does the trick & it prevailed as I started feeling better. Oishi came in the clutch.

I've eaten at a lot of places in America claiming to serve "authentic Japanese ramen," and let's…read morejust say some of them should be investigated by international authorities. Then I found Jinya Ramen. The Tonkotsu Black came out looking like a supermodel. The pork chashu was cooked so perfectly it practically melted in my mouth. The noodles had me one bite away from checking flights to Tokyo. If nostalgia had a texture, it would be those noodles. The egg? Soft boiled perfection. That beautiful jammy center deserved its own spotlight and possibly a small round of applause. I also ordered the pork gyoza, and whoever pan-fried those deserves a raise immediately. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside--basically what every dumpling dreams of becoming. My only tiny complaint: you've got to season your own broth a little. But honestly, compared to some of the so-called "Japanese ramen" spots I've tried in the U.S., this place is five stars and then some. The service was fast, attentive, and genuinely caring--it felt authentic, not forced. The restaurant itself was beautifully decorated, spotless, and had the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stay for a while.

It is almost as good as Japan's so I was fairly impressed. The tonkotsu ramen was good although I didn't think the bowl had enough broth. No random American fillers so love that. The chicken karaage was fine. I don't think I would get that again. The matcha tiramisu was divineeee though. Highly recommend getting that. I do wish it was slightly cheaper and closer to south tulsa. The tables could be cleaner too. Anyway, Jinya is a good spot and the vibe was on point.

There are claw machines at the front and back and sketchbooks with colored pencils on every table so you can draw while waiting for your food. The service is friendly - you order at the front counter and get a buzzer that buzzes when your food is ready at the pickup counter. The boba drinks are good. They have a decent selection of milk teas and fruit drinks as well as toppings. The boba pearls are done right, freshly made so they are soft and chewy like they're supposed to be. Once I ordered popping boba on accident (honey boba on the menu) thinking it was regular boba sweetened with honey and did not like it. They graciously switched it out with regular boba for me which I truly appreciated. My one recommendation would be to adjust the sweetness level if you prefer lighter drinks. The last time I visited I forgot to ask and it was a bit on the sweet side for me. I've also ordered poke and teriyaki bowls from them before and it was ok. The food was fine, it just didn't stand out to me. I usually come here for the drinks but would give the food another try given the good service and atmosphere. They have ramen, rice bowls, and appetizers like chicken karaage and kimchi fries. Overall I'd recommend Gung Ho as a solid hangout spot that's centrally located with good drinks and plenty of food options.
