Been coming back for more. High addicted to the yuchae namul here. I have to get the galbi every time or I will regret it as well Came w a friend and we tried the blood sausage and trotters- recommended by the super nice waitress and it's super good! Friend's baby niece even vouched for it. The trotters are so good w steaming hot fresh white rice. We also ordered the ox tail soup and their broth is honestly just amazing and clean tasting. All that collagen....I'm thankful I have a foodie friend to come try new dishes here with, next we will get the duck stew.

I seriously love eating here. Met up with my muslim friend for dinner with her 2 kids and mom. She was scared the menu was all pork. But we got galbi, seafood pancake and spicy stir fry of squid! The galbi meat quality is really good. It's the high quality kind where the meat sticks to the bone, it is not detached. Wonderfully marinated, there is joy in every bite! The spicy squid was so flavorful, seriously addicting. Their banchans were amazing (as usual). They are so kind about the refills. We loved it all. The kimchi is homemade, you can taste it! I also got a sullung tang (beef bone broth soup). I didn't get to eat much at the table, so I packed it to go. Their both broths are so legit. When I refrigerated it, it was packed with collagen, all turned jello like! Other restaurants cut corners using milk or creamer to make it milky, but this place does it right! I seriously respect all the hard work that goes into make such delish food and banchan. LOVE THIS PLACE!

This was my first time visiting after a golf club gathering. Unfortunately, my overall impression wasn't very positive. After we ordered our food, it took quite a long time to come out, and the taste was pretty average and predictable. The staff seemed to be moving quickly, but it wasn't particularly busy at the time, so the slow service was a bit surprising. I also tried the seolleongtang hoping it would be good, but it didn't really stand out. Overall, it was a bit disappointing compared to what I expected.

One of the best traditional Korean family style restaurant. Awesome service! Their soup base is made freshly daily. Pork trotter is my favorite! Must try!

Blood sausage soup is amazing here. This is such a hidden gem. They use apple juice instead of extra sugar for their side dishes. It's one of the most authentic Korean soup you can buy in town.

The most delicious dinner ! Atmosphere is cozy yet spacious, lots of space to chatter with your friends on a busy Monday evening. Service was so quick and incredibly warm. We ordered the Combo (really great deal) with Tofu Stew and Bulgogi. Omg that bulgogi was to die for. Legit most delicious I've ever had. Tofu stew was also epicness--it was my first time having it and it will most definitely not be the last. We also order spicy cold noodles to share. It never gets old, sooo yum. I was practically making plans to come back as I was grubbing, def recommend!

I'm not as familiar with Korean food, so this was a nice experience. Restaurant itself gives a feel of authentic Korean food. Many pictures of dishes in the wall and the servers here, though somewhat limited in English, are very friendly and polite. I got the morning soup which was hot and satisfying. The broth was flavorful and it's probably a good dish to start the day or after a long night of partying. lol Note that the parking lot isn't very big out front, but there is additional parking on the side of the building.

Good food at Gungjung! We got the soullangtang and it was very good! My only complaints about the establishment would be the price for what you get. It's good food and great atmosphere, its just a little pricey for what you get. The service is good and friendly, and the atmosphere is like you are walking into a restaraunt in Seoul. The Banchan was also really good, with some picks you don't normally see. They also served barley tea, which is a huge plus!

I went to this place specifically for their Sul Leong Tang soup. They have a morning special for this particular soup for $12.99 from 8am-11am. I seeked out a new place because the other places that I've been going to for this soup has been skimping out on the side dishes. The soup was pretty good. It had quite a bit of ox flavor to it without having to add any additional salt. The service was good. If I needed something, it was a simple holler to the waitress. Although this place is a bit small, it is how I like it as it isn't pretentious.

    9. Dogani Tang (도가니탕)/ Ox Knee Bone Soup

Very family style Korean cuisine, food waiting time is a bit long, big portion for soup and noodle we ordered. Very worthy to try again. Price is reasonable as well.

    30. Mul-naengmyeon (칡물냉면) / Buckwheat Ice Noodle Soup 23. Suyuk (궁중 수육) / Boiled Beef

One of the worst Korean food deliveries I've had. The noodles were strangely sweet, and the bulgogi combo was misleading--the beef was boiled, bland, and nothing like real bulgogi. Total waste of money.

The meat is not too sweet like a lot of other places. It's lightly caramelized, really tender and seasoned just right. My favorite way to eat it is with a spoon of rice, some tofu soup, a little bit of side dish and a piece of meat all in one bite. The flavor is just so good. You get the sweetness from the meat, umami from the soup and everything just goes really well together. I always refill the side dishes at least twice whenever I come here. They taste fresh and doesn't taste overly salty or too sweet like some places. Another thing I like is their combo actually comes with a regular size tofu soup. Most other tofu soup places only give you a much smaller bowl with the combo, so you definitely get more here. The ajummas are always super fast and really nice. I've been coming here for more than 5 years now and they never disappoint me.

But other than that, it's a regular restaurant. We came on a weekday night for a slightly later dinner and the restaurant was packed. We had to wait a couple minutes, but we were seated in around 10-ish minutes. Not bad. You can tell it's a community favorite since people were really friendly speaking with the servers in Korean. For our dinner, we got the: 1) Yumso Tang: -This is their hot and spicy goat soup. - I don't usually get this protein and soup base, but I wasn't the one that ordered. It is a hearty, very strongly goat flavored soup with lots of goat meat inside. -It's no spicier than a Shin Ramyun, so no worries about that, but quite flavorful and has a decent amount of leeks and other veggies inside. Definitely goes great with rice. 2) Soondae Jupsi: -Korean pork sausage plate. -This is a very generous amount of Korean blood pork sausage with some offal to the side too. I can sort of eat the blood sausage okay with the vinegar and salt combo, but need rice with it. And I'm not a fan of the offal pieces after. I was treated out, so I can't complain. Not the biggest fans of what was ordered, but I'm sure it's good for those who enjoy these dishes naturally. It also came with banchan and the purple Korean rice (my fav).

I can truly say with my heart that SoCal KBBQ really got the Bay Area beat. The waitlist showed 45m originally but we got in within 25ish. The meat quality was solid. I got Set B so I could try the LA galbi, which was made perfectly. I also liked the rib fingers. They were juicy and had good flavor. I'm simple though, so most of the time I just stuck with brisket. Overall, I'd probably give the food itself a 4/5. Nothing was bad by any means, it's solid and cant do wrong compared to other spots in the area. As for the service, our waitress, I think her name was Christine or Kristine? She was so attentive, friendly, professional, and just completely on top of everything. I was having a really crappy day after work and her enthusiasm really cheered me up. It's really the small attention to detail things that stood out. For example, I love rice paper and by the 2nd time I reordered and finished it, she was like, "more rice paper?" with a lil finger gun action. It's little things like this that make a difference and keep customers returning, so I hope the other staff members also have the same enthusiasm next time I'm back. I was constantly being checked on, my grill kept getting replaced, waters refilled, etc. You can tell this definitely isn't her first time working KBBQ. She just knew what she was doing and was always one step ahead. The service she provided was honestly better than what I've received at high end places like COTE in NYC or San Ho Won in SF, where I'm paying way more and you'd expect that level of service. They also have a couple things you don't see at every Korean BBQ place, like Korean chimichurri, mala seasoning, and cuts like flat iron (my fave) and pichana. I really liked the house samjang too. It had a lot of depth and worked well with the meat. Overall, I'd give the food a 4/5, but my waitress's service is what bumped the entire experience up to a 5/5 for me. I would definitely come back if I wanted AYCE, the food was solid. I really wish we had this level of service up in the Bay!! I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area. I can't wait to have the rib fingers with that samjang and chimichurri again!

Despite how busy she clearly was, our grills got changed so often, she frequently refilled our drinks and banchan, and often checked in on us if we needed anything else. The service is definitely one of the best in an AYCE KBBQ spot. The banchan were surprisingly really delicious as well! I think it means a lot when a place offers good quality side dishes which equates to every aspect of your meal will be great. It's an often overlooked aspect. The hot food and the meat selections were also great! The pricing and quality really makes sense. The food comes out super quick and fresh, so you are not waiting to make another round as your timer runs down. Also, keep that high-pressure sink in the women's restroom! I loved how strong it was, and it REALLY cleaned my hands!
