Blood sausage soup is amazing here. This is such a hidden gem. They use apple juice instead of extra sugar for their side dishes. It's one of the most authentic Korean soup you can buy in town.

Tucked away and not very prominent albeit located on a bustling Colima Blvd, this home style Korean restaurant has some nice dishes to offer. Galbi gal that I am, I've gone twice for the smoky, sweet, caramelized short ribs and their side dishes. Ok, kind or one particular side dish that I really crave but can't find normally is this Korean spinach banchan, I think it's called sigeumchi-namul. It's cold, crisp, and refreshingly delicious. Their ssamjang and kimchi are really good too, the ssamjang a lighter sweet, savory flavor and kimchi is nice and fresh. I left after trying them the first time last week and was hungering for the spinach side dishe again days later but held off until it was Friday, ugh. I've tasted their Ox tail soup (think they are also known for this), broth was light yet rich, if it wasn't for the ribs and cold noodles, but I'll get it next time. Definitely coming back as the collagen in that broth is a must! Good hot barley tea to wash down the food, some come for the soju too. Service is attentive and friendly, very family style cozy for sure. Don't expect fancy but expect good Korean soul food.

The most delicious dinner ! Atmosphere is cozy yet spacious, lots of space to chatter with your friends on a busy Monday evening. Service was so quick and incredibly warm. We ordered the Combo (really great deal) with Tofu Stew and Bulgogi. Omg that bulgogi was to die for. Legit most delicious I've ever had. Tofu stew was also epicness--it was my first time having it and it will most definitely not be the last. We also order spicy cold noodles to share. It never gets old, sooo yum. I was practically making plans to come back as I was grubbing, def recommend!

I'm not as familiar with Korean food, so this was a nice experience. Restaurant itself gives a feel of authentic Korean food. Many pictures of dishes in the wall and the servers here, though somewhat limited in English, are very friendly and polite. I got the morning soup which was hot and satisfying. The broth was flavorful and it's probably a good dish to start the day or after a long night of partying. lol Note that the parking lot isn't very big out front, but there is additional parking on the side of the building.

I went to this place specifically for their Sul Leong Tang soup. They have a morning special for this particular soup for $12.99 from 8am-11am. I seeked out a new place because the other places that I've been going to for this soup has been skimping out on the side dishes. The soup was pretty good. It had quite a bit of ox flavor to it without having to add any additional salt. The service was good. If I needed something, it was a simple holler to the waitress. Although this place is a bit small, it is how I like it as it isn't pretentious.

    9. Dogani Tang (도가니탕)/ Ox Knee Bone Soup

Very family style Korean cuisine, food waiting time is a bit long, big portion for soup and noodle we ordered. Very worthy to try again. Price is reasonable as well.

    30. Mul-naengmyeon (칡물냉면) / Buckwheat Ice Noodle Soup 23. Suyuk (궁중 수육) / Boiled Beef

One of the worst Korean food deliveries I've had. The noodles were strangely sweet, and the bulgogi combo was misleading--the beef was boiled, bland, and nothing like real bulgogi. Total waste of money.

Sulrungtang is bomb here, However their sundaegook was not. But overall the experience was good with nice seats, and ambiance.

Good food at Gungjung! We got the soullangtang and it was very good! My only complaints about the establishment would be the price for what you get. It's good food and great atmosphere, its just a little pricey for what you get. The service is good and friendly, and the atmosphere is like you are walking into a restaraunt in Seoul. The Banchan was also really good, with some picks you don't normally see. They also served barley tea, which is a huge plus!

Everything we had tasted so delicious and flavorful, even the side dishes that consisted of kimchi, fish cakes, and some chives. We kept asking for more and the employees were more than happy to keep them coming! For food, we got the bossam, sulungtang, and yukgaejang. The bossam arrived on this grill that kept it warm throughout the meal, which I can appreciate. The sulungtang and yukgaejang were both phenominal and hit the korean comfort food cravings. Get the purple rice!! Not to mention they had deals on alcohol too. I believe $5 for beer and $7 for a soju bottle -- cant beat that in this economy! Definitely will be adding this to my rotation for korean food.

The pork is consistently tender, and the banchan (side dishes) are always fresh and high quality. The braised beef was good, but it didn't quite live up to my expectations. It could have been braised longer, and I felt the sauce didn't really penetrate the meat the way it has at other places, so the flavor was a bit lacking. The only real downside was that the older woman working that day was a little short with us. Other than that, the food is consistently solid. Overall, 4/5.

The meat is not too sweet like a lot of other places. It's lightly caramelized, really tender and seasoned just right. My favorite way to eat it is with a spoon of rice, some tofu soup, a little bit of side dish and a piece of meat all in one bite. The flavor is just so good. You get the sweetness from the meat, umami from the soup and everything just goes really well together. I always refill the side dishes at least twice whenever I come here. They taste fresh and doesn't taste overly salty or too sweet like some places. Another thing I like is their combo actually comes with a regular size tofu soup. Most other tofu soup places only give you a much smaller bowl with the combo, so you definitely get more here. The ajummas are always super fast and really nice. The beef tofu soup was comforting and flavorful with silky soft tofu, chunks of beef, and an egg you crack in yourself which made it feel extra fresh. The bibimbap was loaded with assorted vegetables and beef, and I liked that you can customize the amount of gochujang. Every bite had a good balance of savory flavors and different textures. Our other combo came with galbi that was cooked really well -- smoky, tender, and slightly sweet. We also got the spicy cold noodles which had a nice chewy texture and the flavor was well balanced. Overall, a solid spot if you're looking for Korean comfort food with good portions and variety. The combo meals make it easy to try different items, and I'd come back to explore more of the menu.

One thing I didn't like was when it came to paying there was no clarification on if we wanted to half it or pay in full and the server had brought the card reader immediately and placed it in front of me while standing there waiting and watching the tip amount. Don't love when places do that. While the food was good they didn't check on us throughout the meal, which can be fine, however we had to ask for sodas mid meal. While the restaurant was busy it wasn't loud to where it created a difficult time of conversing between groups. I would say the check in service needs to be worked on because there had been a group in front of us that stated their party number and didn't move so we were waiting for a bit just for seating. Otherwise would go here again for the food.
