Sweet and sour pork with sauce on side
    Joan C.

Worth every mile of the drive! Yong Moon Lu has officially become our go-to spot for Korean Chinese food. We ordered quite a bit and everything hit -- nothing disappointed. Loved that the sauces for the sweet and sour pork and shrimp came on the side, which is exactly how it should be. The black bean noodles were delicious, just keep in mind the noodles are thicker and chewier than what you might be used to -- personally, we loved the texture. Service was fast and attentive from start to finish. This place absolutely lives up to the hype. Ambiance was great! Must visit!

A bit pricier than I anticipated but the food was great and services were good. The sweet and sour pork was EXPENSIVEEEEE but tastes very standard. I do like the noodles they use for the black bean noodles since it's a bit ticker and chewier (kinda like udon!)

The food here is delicious! The sweet and sour shrimp had a light fluffy batter with sauce on the side, and the spicy seafood noodle soup had plenty of veggies and seafood. At the end they give you a glazed Korean sweet potato for free which is nice :) there's also plenty of seating inside with some private rooms as well. good news is the food rocks, bad news is the parking doesn't :( I need to come back and try some other items on the menu

SO good. Run, don't walk there. And also prepare to wait. We ordered the set menu for 8-10 adults and it was too much food for 8 adults. But it was SO good, and the variety we got to try was delightful. We were in a private room because of how big our party was, and the rest of the restaurant had the chaotic energy of a typical Korean-Chinese restaurant. An absolute delight. So excited to go back and try other items! (And get more of the same)

A couple of friends recommended Korean-Chinese food for lunch, and this place was a great choice! We arrived around 12:30 PM on a Wednesday and were able to grab parking spots right in front, though I can imagine parking being difficult during peak lunch or dinner hours. It felt like a cozy, classic restaurant. It was getting busy when we walked in and filled up soon after we were seated. Service was efficient that we were able to order and get our food pretty quickly. They offer weekday lunch specials from 11:30 AM to 3 PM, which was a great deal to let us try everything. We split two combo meals among the group: sweet and sour pork with jajangmyeon, and fried shrimp with jjampong, plus an order of shrimp toast to start. - The shrimp toast reminded me of something you would get at dim sum. It was nicely crispy and dense. I highly recommend dipping it in the mustard to help cut through the oiliness. - Both combo meals were generous and satisfying. The jajangmyeon was one of the best I've had. There was no lingering aftertaste from the sauce, a decent portion size for lunch, and the noodles had the perfect texture without being overly chewy. The sweet and sour pork was thinly sliced with a nice crispy batter. It was slightly dry, but the sweet sauce balanced it out well and added flavor. - The jjampong was loaded with fresh seafood. The broth had a mild flavor base with a pleasant kick of spice that was not too overwhelming. The fried shrimp were jumbo, crispy, and paired perfectly with the tangy sauce. We were so full by the end of our meal, and we had plenty of leftovers. It was a little pricey, but worth it for the quality and portion sizes. Can't wait for my next meal here!

Stopped by here on a Sunday evening and it was busy..we had a party of 6 and luckily the wait wasnt too bad. The customer service was great- everyone was really nice and attentive. We ordered a variety of things. The sweet and sour fish was my favorite. It was crispy and the sauce came on the side which kept it from getting soggy. The food was all really good. It is a little pricey but the portion are a good size.

I have been here a few times since the holidays looking for dishes with sea cucumber. All dishes come with complimentary hot tea, fresh cut onions w black bean sauce, pickled daikon radish, and if you ask, some very fermented kimchi and a small bowl of rice. - Always pour vinegar over your onions, daikon radish and kimchi - Sounds strange but it works Service is very prompt and they get you everything you need. Seafood combo with huge seafood, and unusually large bamboo slices, a touch of shitake and just a few pieces of sea cucumber. $47. - It is a huge platter, could be shared by 4 people - Seafood such as scallops, shrimp, mussels, cross-hatched squid are all pretty large in size - A touch of bokchoy greens mixed in Then came in for lunch, and had the #4 combo which has pork slices, seafood, sliced sea cucumber (more than the full sized $47 dish). Very tasty. It's like a half portion but very satisfying. $27 - It also comes with a choice of either jiajang myun (black bean noodles) or jjampong (seafood noodles). - I chose seafood with no noodles (they kind of overloaded it with cabbage and a few pcs of seafood but very tasty still) Then a more recent visity, it was MLK day (a holiday) so no lunch specials. I had to order the full size of the #4, as an entree it's #2 under seafood. - Very very good - There was so much left over I took it home and had 2 more meals from it The authenticness of of these dishes is incredible. This place comes the closest to my childhood memories of going out as a family for Korean Chinese. Seriously the chef knows what he is doing! It is quite busy all the time, so try to go in off peak hours. Lunchtime menu is Mon - Fri 11:30am - 2:30pm. Highly recommend!

I love this place! Hands down the best Jiangjianmen I've had. It's honestly become my go-to spot whenever I'm craving it. The service is always great and the ambiance is super chill and welcoming. We also got the shrimp toast, and it was absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend adding that to your order! I also tried the sour pork. The flavor was good, but it was a little dry for my preference. Still, everything else was so solid that it didn't take away from the overall experience. I'll definitely be coming back again!

This is hands down the best Korean/Chinese food I've eaten. It reminds me of when I was visiting Korea! Their flavors are spot on and portions are perfect sized. Also very fairly priced compared to other restaurants. I entered a flow state when eating this food because it was just that amazing. The staff is pretty nice and serve pretty quickly. The ambiance is pretty nice as well. Gives a nostalgic type of vibe. If you have this spot saved, you should already just come and try it ‍!

I have had this spot bookmarked for months but haven't had a chance to try it out until recently! I've definitely been missing out over the years!! My boyfriend and I decided to share: fried shrimp toast, mongolian beef, and jjajangmyeon. We were blown away by how flavorful everything tasted! The star of the show for both of us was definitely the fried shrimp toast.. crunchy, delicious, and paired well with the sauces (sweet and sour+ spicy mustard). We definitely felt like the portions were very generous and were not able to finish it all. Mongolian beef was seasoned well, slightly sweet (to me) which was surprising but in a good way. Bonus points that rice was included with the entree at no additional cost. Jjajangmyeon hit the spot for me.. the noodles were bouncy and the sauce was savory. As a server, I was truly impressed by the service. The smallest details left an impressionable good dining experience as a first time customer. The workers were friendly and maintained their smiles while engaging with everyone. Our server particular knew the appropriate amount to check up, without being bothersome and not once did we have to ask for additional items; multiple servers just knew what we would need and just dropped everything off to us (extra bowls to share, scissors, napkins). What I appreciate the most was after receiving the check and paying, one of the servers helped pack our food for to go.. the smallest gesture was much appreciated. One important note to mention is that there is ample parking located in the back, but despite having a Corolla, parking spaces felt really cramped with a full parking lot.

Atlanta has the best Chinese-Korean in the world, no contest. But if you live elsewhere in the Korean diaspora or in Korea itself, you might think you have best. In southern California, Yong Moon Lu is the best example of what you can find (or used to) in Atlanta. The hwagyos who run this place still speak Mandarin and Korean. They have all the classics and are confident because they know how good they are. These are timeless Chinese-Korean dishes with no modern twists because they understand that good is good forever. The quality of the fried offerings bring me back to my childhood and the swiftness of the service is something you just can't find nowadays. Seriously, start a timer after you order. This place is packed for a reason. I highly respect places that nail a dish or cuisine and just refuse to change. May Yong Moon Lu be around for 100 years. Frozen in time is the whole point.

Their Korean-chinese food is the best in town for sure. This is my goto place for jjajangmyun. One downside is that they are always busy, and one of the servers kept convincing me to order something i dont want. I understand the process of preparing food can be smoother for them, but it was not great experience.

You have to eat the food freshly hot at the restaurant. I've gotten takeout from here multiple times, which was good but eating it at the restaurant is next level! Every time I come here, I am reminded and impressed with how good the food is. Make sure to come with a big party because then you can try multiple different dishes! On our most recent visit, my husband ordered orange chicken and I have to admit I was judging him for this choice. Boy was I wrong because this was one of the best orange chicken dishes I've ever had. It came out piping hot and the way it was glazed/crisped up reminded me of General Tso's chicken with an orange chicken flavor. Our whole party thoroughly and unexpectedly liked this dish. 5/5 We had two other fried dishes and both were freaking good. They definitely have the balance of breading to meat portions down. The tangsuyook and the kkanpung shrimp did not disappoint. Both 5/5 We of course ordered jjajangmyeon and jjamppong since we can't go to a Korean Chinese place without ordering these staple dishes. Both were delicious. The jjamppong had the perfect amount of noodles, vegetables, and seafood! Another favorite dish here is yangjangpi. This has a nice light freshness compared to the other dishes we normally get that are on the heavier end. The portions are huge and the quality of the ingredients are great. We had a much more expensive dinner the night prior at an Izakaya for a birthday celebration and the group agreed that this meal the very next day was way better for less than half the price! Service here is strong. They serve you quickly and check in often. The ambiance is also super family friendly with tables that spin so you can share all the dishes family style. Highly recommend!

Not pictured is the chow mein. All the dishes were really good.

Ask the Community - Yong Moon Lu

Any chance the restaurant will consider adding a couple of vegan options (labeled) in the near future? (I saw the reply on the Jajangmyeon.) Thank you!! 🙏

Hello! Are you open on Christmas Day?

    YES

    Are the noodles housemade?

Yes, the dough made each morning for the day. The noodle is made to order, boiled as orders come in. This is Korean style Chinese food that noodle is made at the restaurant from the scratch

Can I upgrade the noodle with a larger size for lunch combo? It is listed as small size on the menu.

I'm sure you can but they probably have to charge couple more dollars. They are very accommodating people that I know of.. Just feel free to ask.

Is the Jajangmyeon vegetarian? Is there a version without meat?

The Jajangmyeon is not vegetarian, it has ground meat in the sauce. However you could call or ask if it can be done...?! Not really sure...

The bossam arrived on this grill that kept it warm throughout the meal, which I can appreciate. The sulungtang and yukgaejang were both phenominal and hit the korean comfort food cravings. Overall, the food was filling, seasoned well, and well portioned without being overly expensive. The only downside was that our waters were never refilled during the meal, although it honestly looked like there was only one server working at the time. Despite that, the service was still quick overall, and I'd definitely come back again to try some of the other items on their menu.

Great place to get some hearty stew on a cold day, during lunch or dinner. Super generous portions and definitely enough to take home for later as well. Restaurant is quite spacious and with lots of booth seating, but I can only imagine how busy it could potentially get. There's plenty of parking in the plaza since the 2 main stores/market chains are now closed. For our visit we got a medium gamja jeon-gol, which is their spicy pork bone soup with potatoes. There's a slight heat to it, but not super spicy as I was with some Cantonese people who can't handle spiciness, so they had it at mild. Still a rich umami taste with flavor to it. Pork is moist and plentiful and so are the potatoes. There's also lots of greens and I think, leeks in the stew. Lots of banchan to snack on too and all of us got a small bowl of purple rice as well (my favorite!) About 1/3 of the way through, we packaged most of the stew to go and we had our complimentary fried rice which is made inside the same pot as the stew, absorbing the delicious stew flavor. There's nori seaweed strips and sesame seeds added in for taste and flavor too. Good stuff. I'm, unfortunately, not a fan of picking meat off the bone so this was kinda hard when the soup was still boiling hot, but other than that, delicious.

This location is located in a plaza with several other businesses so its usually always packed with people. Parking may be a little difficult but the food is worth it. There was little to no wait and my party of 4 was seated quickly. It took a little bit to get some service as the place was packed on a Thursday night but we ordered right when the waiter came. The food took around 10-15 mins to come which wasn't too bad but I was definitely getting hangry after a long day lol. But the galbi was so plentiful, tender and delicious. The potatoes were also really soft and tasty. The sauce tasted perfect with the rice and although the food was a little greasy and definitely needed to be eaten with water, it was still so delicious. We also got cheese with ours that they melted with a blowtorch in front of us which was fun. I brought a friend who was a first timer and she loved it and even wanted to bring her family who was from out of town here. It is a little expensive at $100+ after tip and tax, but there was also plenty of leftovers for the four of us that we took home which I was able to eat a second helping the next day. I wish the service was a little better as I would've liked more water multiple times and napkins. Nonetheless, food was delicious and I can't wait to come back again and try a soup as well.
