It looked like there was only one employee working when we visited, so the service was pretty slow. But once the food came out, we were happy we waited. We were served the banchan spread first. This consisted of kimchi, kelp noodles, fish cake, and spicy cucumber. Every side dish tasted pretty good. The cold noodles were really refreshing, with a nice tangy and savory flavor. They were light to eat but still delicious, and definitely hit the spot for lunch. I also really enjoyed the potato pancake, which was very flavorful and crispy. It even came with a dipping sauce on the side that added even more flavor. The food was tasty and satisfying, and I'd definitely come back to try some of the other dishes. Visited with my wife on a weekend (lunch) and we were seated immediately as there were available seating. First impressions is that the staff here is quick...when it's not busy. Why? There's only one staff member working the tables. We didn't get her name but she was compiling every table possible as it got packed during our meal. Food wise, my wife and I ordered 2 bowls of their naengmyeon (cold noodles) along with a potato pancake to share. Our food came out moderately quick (10 minute wait time~~) potato pancake first, then our noodles. Banchan here is standard to most KR restaurants, kimchi, cucumbers, fish cake. They also have this noodle vegetable type banchan that is unfamiliar to my wife and I but it was pretty delicious and very light. The cold noodles were exceptional, portions might be bigger than the standard cold noodles you get else where. With that said, the noodles weren't tough at all, very savory and refreshing. The vegetables + the half egg you get is just a bonus to the bowl of noodles, 10/10 would recommend. The potato pancake is something that I've tried for the first time. Usually we would opt for the seafood pancake but this time we decided to try something new. To my surprise, it's very well made. The pancake is sliced into 4 equal pieces, and it comes with a dipping sauce. I recommend trying out the dip as it adds most of the flavor to the pancake. Without the dip, it's similar to eating a sticky bun. My wife and I experimented with dipping the pancake into our cold noodle broth and surprisingly, IT WORKS. It creates that cold refreshing taste along with the savory of the pancake, could be a new thing ;) Overall, it was a wonderful experience, food is top quality and is consistent. It was both our first time visiting this Korean restaurant, and we enjoyed the food on a weekend evening. Located in Rowland Heights Plaza, this is one of several eateries sharing a relatively small parking lot. The place is a little small, and we waited about ten minutes outside until a table opened; we looked at the menu plastered on the window in the meantime. We got the spicy cold buckwheat noodles ($16.99) and cabbage gamja-tang (spicy pork neck bone stew with potatoes) ($18.99). Both orders were generously portioned. They provided banchan (kimchi, pickled cucumbers, fish cakes, and white seaweed salad) at the same time as the gamja-tang. The spicy cold buckwheat noodles tasted really refreshing with a great blend of savory and sweet spice. The server cut my buckwheat noodles so that they could be easier to eat since they're long. Mustard and vinegar were also provided. Cucumbers were just the right vegetable to have with this dish. I tried a little bit of the gamja-tang, and it came with a lot of hearty pork. However, there were a lot of bones since the meat comes from pork neck. Overall, this is a solid Korean restaurant, and I'd want to visit again. They have lunch specials on the weekdays that allow you to order a combination of items. Service was also good as our server checked in on us a few times, and we were able to get more banchan. I took my mom here for lunch and we tried a variety of dishes. My mom is a direct, straight-forward person, and she genuinely enjoyed most of what we ordered. Pork Belly Wraps with Garlic Sauce ($45.99) - Wow the most colorful selection of accompaniments with the pork belly. Yummmm. This was glorious and my mom loved it. Beef Galbi ($29.99) - BBQ Beef Short Ribs. My mom doesn't normally like beef, but she really enjoyed this galbi. Very flavorful. This dish took a lot longer to come out than the others so we were pretty full by the time it came out. The one thing we didn't love was their ban chans. At any other Korean restaurants my mom would eat so much and ask for so many refills I would feel borderline embarrassment. However she barely touched it here cause she didn't like it. We had zeroooo refills. What a record. Service was very nice, but the lady seemed busy being the only person who was front of house staff. I came here this past Friday with my dad and brother. We were looking for something Korean and I found this spot on Yelp. It was a little restaurant that was minimally staffed. I believe there may have only been 3 employees at the most, 1 at the front and 2 in the back. Maybe even 2 only in total. Seeing the menu it was a fairly small assortment but all looked appealing. Some of the typical stuff like tofu soup and bulgogi but also their signature is gamjatang, one of my favorite soups. It is a somewhat spicy stew made with pork neck bones. We got the casserole version (gamja jeongol) in a large size which was just enough for 3 people who eat quite a bit. They gave four banchan (side dishes): kimchi, fish cake, some sort of crunchy white thing that looked noodle like that had a white sauce, and seaweed I think. All were decent. The stew itself was a beautiful mixture of stewed pork neck bones, mushrooms, whole stem perilla leaves, potatoes, and some more. The flavor was familiar and reminded me why it was my favorite soup with its homey feel. We did the common thing to mix in our rice to make fried rice at the end with the leftover stew. I saw they also sell marinated shrimp and crab as well, but apparently you have to pre order them on the second week of the month. I'm not sure if my poor experience was simply because I got this food as takeout as opposed to dine in, but the cold noodle dish was very difficult to eat. The buckwheat noodles were clumped together. I kept teasing at it, but I could not separate the noodles even after mixing it with the broth and pulling the noodles apart. I ended up discarding most of this because I couldn't separate the noodles. The broth was flavorful though 3/5 The potato pancake was the most disappointing thing. The texture was pretty awful. It was oily, lumpy and chewy. I expected something a bit crispy. Maybe that's my fault. I didn't finish this either. 1/5 I'll end with the positives of this experience. I enjoyed the variety of complimentary banchan. It was different from what is typically offered in my experience. It was an individual bowl of tender pork neck bone soup and a small platter of spicy squid with several banchan on the side with a small bowl of white rice. The spicy squid came with plenty of chopped onions, carrots, zucchini with pieces of squid. The portion was a good size and the heat was not too much. The gamjatang had several tender pieces of pork neck bone with a good amount of meat on them, chunks of potatoes, soft pieces of napa cabbage, and ground wild perilla seed gave a nutty taste to the rick broth which was savory.
