VEHICLE: GMC Sierra AT4. Overall, happy enough... NOT SO GOOD: At check in, I presented the service writer a short list of things I wanted them to address. However, I was informed that I was scheduled in the 'Express Lane' for a 4-hour computer software update. It would be 5+ days before I could have someone look at the other items. When I scheduled the appointment I was told I could not wait for the upload, I had to leave the vehicle. Nothing ever mentioned about the 'Express Lane'. GOOD: I received a text message that the service was completed. The Service Manager(?) met me at the counter, explained they had looked at one of the items I asked about, and he provided a plan to address the rest. I'm getting older. I do have a lot more time on my hands to pick and choose who I can have do my work. Just got off the phone with GMC service. I don't recall his name because I'm getting old. I'm needing to get a break job and GMC was the last place I had done it. They were the only place I've had it done. I remember the service agent previously saying that I had a lifetime warranty for the brake pads and all I would ever have to do is pay for the service. Again, I'm getting old so that's all I remember. Today, GMC very quickly said they don't do that and that I must've got the brakes from a parts store with that kind of warranty and I thought that was a little odd for the man to say that without looking at my information first. But that's what he said that I must've got him from "Advanced" (auto parts). So when he did look it up, he found out that I did get the brakes there five years ago. I don't do much driving. He said that it was only a one-year warranty for the parts. The last time GMC worked on my car it was for the differential. And they ended up paying for the $1000+ repairs after I drove my vehicle just a short time after their service. I really don't like GMC service except for simple oil changes and tire rotation. So I'll say that they're very consistent in their service and their repair work. I'll just stick with using them for oil changes. read more

I am writing to formally document a highly unsatisfactory and unacceptable experience with the Gunn Service Department. This situation goes beyond inconvenience it reflects a lack of accountability, and disrespect for customer vehicles. I returned to the Gunn Service Department due to a thumping noise coming from one of my tires. On my way back to the dealership, that tire suffered a blowout. Thankfully, I was close enough to make it back safely on a flat tire. Given the heavy construction in and around the dealership, this could have resulted in a serious and dangerous situation. That alone raises concerns about how the issue was handled during my prior visit. The tire was eventually replaced, but not without unnecessary resistance. I was told by the service manager that Gunn would only cover the remaining balance--approximately $9--after my tire and wheel insurance paid the majority of the cost. While the amount may seem small to Gunn, I returned due to an unresolved issue from my morning routine maintenance, that resulted in a blowout. More troubling than the billing issue, however, was the condition in which my vehicle was returned to me. The attached photos clearly show that the technician failed to clean excessive grease from my rim after installing the new tire. The grease was left to harden, leaving my wheel visibly dirty and neglected. This is not a matter of preference--it is a clear failure to perform even the most basic level of professional care. This demonstrates: - A lack of pride in workmanship - Poor quality control - Indifference toward customer property It likely would have taken no more than a few minutes to clean the rim properly. The issue is not the time; it is the message it sends--that the Gunn Service Dept. does not respect its customers or their vehicles. Considering the cost of today's vehicles and the trust customers place in authorized service departments, this is completely unacceptable. I am taking this directly to ownership, corporate and social media because this experience points to a larger concern with service standards and oversight at that dealership. Customers should not have to inspect their vehicles for careless workmanship after routine service, nor should they leave feeling unsafe or dismissed. Worst experience -Made an appointment to get my oil changed and software updated due to not being able to connect to CarPlay without connection anymore, and heads-up map display freezing, asked for a loaner. Appointment was confirmed through email, in the notes I asked for the exact items. I explained to the First Lady About the things needed, and she said ok, but no loaner was available, said that's fine and continued the appointment, second guy I explained what needed to be done on my vehicle. He said no problem it would get take ln care of, on two occasions I have explained what I needed and inputted it into the system while creating my appointment, I call to check on my vehicle and was told the last of the software is updating it would be 20 min, I go to pick up my vehicle and didn't see software or diagnostics on the recipet and I ask of this was done because this was the true nature of the appointment to include the oil change as it is very frustrating, I am told, Ma'am you need to make another appointment for that to be done, at NO time during this whole process or during the 5 hours that my car sat in service was I ever told this, I explained to them how this should have been communicated on all the instances that I expressed my concern with each technician. As this has wasted my entire day and the problem is still or corrected, they then ask the manager to come outside which I tell him the entire story of how I communicated all Day on the things needing to be fixed for my vehicle and no one ever communicated this would not be done, he told me about the loaner situation which i explained I was not concerned about as I had my husband drop me off I just wanted my car operating correctly, at that moment he said that he would give me a call to try to rectify the situation, get my vehicle updated and try to get me a loaner in the recess, I have yet to hear from Anyone as of this moment and my vehicle still Has the same issues I took it on for for 5 hours, prior to this I took my vehicle to San Marcos for the recall updates which still did not update the radio issues, this is extremely disappointing. read more

TERRIBLE DEALERSHIP EXPERIENCE Please read this and be careful when doing business here if you so choose to. I am open to answering any follow up questions about my experience. I purchased a Jeep Wrangler 392 from this dealership and shipped it to California. At first I felt like they were responsive but that quickly changed and I had to chase after them for them to get me the information so I could purchase this vehicle. I asked for videos of the car and for them to let me know of what damage/flaws the car had and nothing was brought to my attention. I went ahead and had it transported to California. Once the car arrived the battery was starting very weak but as it is a new car to me I was not sure if that was normal or how it was supposed to work. I drove the car on the freeway for the first time and hit a small bump in the road and my steering wheel started shaking violently. I had done my research so I knew it was the infamous "Death Wobble" this happened 5-8x on my drive and each time I pulled over. It was starting to rain hard that week and for safety reasons I could not drive it. I was told by this dealership to get it checked out but little did I know they had no intention of reimbursing me for the repairs because if I wanted the repairs to be covered it would have to be at their dealership in Texas...while I have a car that shakes violently in California. I went to a local trusted jeep shop and they fixed the death wobble as it has not came back since and it was roughly $1800 and I was also quoted for a battery as they tested it and let me know it was going bad which was another $400. I paid the local mechanic and submitted my invoices to Gunn's team. After weeks of no answers and constant follow ups they said they would cover the battery and that the Death Wobble issue was still under review. I followed up on the $1800 Death Wobble issue and all they said was "this is why we offered you a warranty" the warranty offered was a 3rd party warranty that would have fought tooth and nail to not pay out due to a preexisting issue. I was and continue to be very disappointed in their lack of customer service and willingness to take some accountability. I would have been more than okay with a 50/50 split but they basically said it is my problem. I received a reimbursement for the battery but that is all. I hardly drive the car (10 miles a week) so with time I spent more time with the car and noticed the car had a rip in the driver seat that was not mentioned, the car had pet/dog hair in the interior and stuck tk the carpets, the car was shined with what looked to be armoral on all the leathers which is very greasy(I still need to pay a good detail company to fix that) Most importantly, I went looking under the fender lining there are many parts covered in duct tape holding parts together. I messaged the finance manager about this and of course no response. I am honestly tired of this dealerships lack of service and communication. I was interested in another vehicle but once I saw it was at a Gunn Dealership I quickly told them no thank you I will shop elsewhere. Posted will be the invoice to fix the death wobble that I had to pay in order to safely drive my vehicle. Also, I will be having my local jeep mechanic remove the duct tape shown to see what the duct tape is holding together. GUNN should have not sold this vehicle in this condition. read more

First time bringing my vehicle into Gunn for service after a bad experience at another dealership. I took my vehicle in for routine maintenance. My service advisor Kristen was professional, knowledgeable and personable. Upon arrival she met me at my vehicle. Kristen kept me informed on my vehicle's status. I attempted to make a small purchase in cash at the parts counter. However the parts counter had no change so I was compelled to use my credit card. My only complaint would be that the dealership charges a 3% service fee when paying with a credit card. I recommend using their services ....just be aware of credit card payment fee. read more

First of all, my wife got a beautiful truck at a great price. However, the way we got there was deceitful, at best. We told Sergio that we had financing through our Credit Union, he asked if we would go through their financing if they could beat it. I said of course. My wife filled out the credit app, they said "done we beat it". We asked for the rate, Sergio said he didn't know but to come down and it would be good. My wife gets there and suddenly they advised they had to check with their bank. We were confused as we were told it was a done deal. Well, sure enough they couldn't beat the rate, obviously they just told us that to get us to come in. Very very disappointing and very dishonest. I have the text messages to prove the above. I have bought several cars throughout the course of my life and it is one of the things I loathe most. I have never interacted with a salesman where I didn't feel like they were a vulture who pretended to have my best interest at heart but in reality they were just playing me to earn a buck. Then you have the negotiating part which is equally as horrible and the financing where everything is an up sale. I never have any desire to interact with people who are not genuine unless I absolutely have too. Two nights ago I was in search of a new truck. I messaged several dealers throughout the day and the particular truck I was looking for wasn't available anywhere but everyone would try to convince me why I wanted something different only because it's what they had available on their lot. At 10:30pm I found something I was interested in and submitted an inquiry. Because it was really late I didn't expect a response until the morning. To my surprise, within a couple of minutes, Carlos Polino text me letting me know that the truck was available and he would love to show it to me the next day. The next morning he followed up and we arranged a time for me to go. My schedule is hectic but I showed up early because I was free, not expecting him to be available. To my surprise he was standing at the front of the store and immediately greeted me. At the young age of 21 he lead with humility and grace. His knowledge of the GMC brand and specific products was very impressive. You could tell that he wasn't just passionate about trucks and cars but he also took a lot of pride and loved his job. He frequently offered water and snacks as we went through the process and at the end of it all we walked away purchasing two vehicles for our family. He introduced us to Steve (management) who was equally as friendly and. had a genuine interest in who we are and what we do. This was hands down the greatest car buying experience I have ever encountered by an amazing team of individuals. Do not buy a certified used car here as they sold me a lemon. Transmission quit with no warnings, no light on dash, normal looking fluid. Defective transmission most likely according to different transmission shops I spoke with. They do not help and do not read the emails sent. Where to even start. I bought a 2020 GMC Denali 2500 "Certified pre-Owned" the buying process went relatively smooth. Our Sale associate was great I have nothing against him. Once the sale was completed and I left I noticed the Low Def fluid alert and my fuel filter was at 56%. When I called and voiced my concern they told me that the fuel filter alert should have been cleared because they changed it. At this time they still had my trust. Shortly after buying the truck (2-3 thousand miles later) I had a check engine light come on,when I brought the truck into service they claimed they couldn't find/recreate the issue. When I went in to pick up my truck the door had damage, before driving off I pointed out the damage and took videos and pictures. They claimed "their photos of the time of drop off are blurry and they can't determine if the truck had the damage prior to drop off) I was highly upset at this time but needed my truck for towing. Round two of check engine light: After another thousand or so miles my truck would start or even turn over but had power. I got it started and brought the truck in to the service department, after very little communication across 7-8 days I went into the office and they claimed yet again they couldn't recreate or find a problem. After speaking to the assistant director he asked me to give him a few more days. I filed a complaint with Gm and the very next day they claimed my batteries were the issue. At this time I've lost trust in the dealership but my first oil change was on them so after 6,000ish miles I took my truck in for service. They came to me with a list of things due pictures below. Some recommended every 10,000-15,000 miles ( that fuel filter was one) they also asked for my wheel lock.. come to find out I never received it with the purchase so I spoke to the sales team as recommended by the service department. They couldn't provide a wheel lock cause they didn't have one. I also still haven't received a receiver insert that they told me they would get for me. At this time Gunn does NOT have mine or my families service. Our Yukon Denali will be purchased somewhere else. Bought a $80,000 truck and Got overall rude service (minus my sales associate) My door is still damaged. I have no wheel lock. I have no receiver insert. Purchased my vehicle in March and I got this email today saying my strut is leaking from a visit May 23rd (note the replacement cost). The SUV had barely been driven 1K miles at that time and it was never brought to my attention before purchasing or during the May 23rd drop off. I believe they knew about the issue and just didn't address it because of the cost to fix and left it to me, the customer, to inherit the maintenance cost. Simply and fairly put, car there 11 days to change a/c condenser. That does seem excessive to me.

My experience was very disappointing! I put down a refundable $500 for a vehicle that I wouldn't be able to see til the weekend. Got there on the weekend and the vehicle was not ready (allegedly detail crew noticed battery was 3 years old but still works so they ordered a new battery). Salesperson knew I was coming for an appointment and wanted to look at other vehicles so I can make the best choice. He never pulled up any other vehicles, kept me in the lobby instead of inviting me to his office so that we can discuss options. Never even offered water or anything. Seemed to try to work with other people when he knew I was coming. We had been in contact for 3-4 days prior. I told salesperson that I want my deposit back but he kept trying to sell me a vehicle. Eventually (via text) he just gave me a thumbs up emoji regarding my deposit being refunded. Three days later, I still haven't got my deposit. This review is based solely on the service department. I brought in my car, which was 300 miles outside its bumper to bumper warranty, for a warning light and key fob issue. I was able to make an appointment first thing in the morning for the day after I called. Upon arrival I was immediately greeted and checked in. The price quoted was reasonable and half the price of another dealership in town. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. They offered me a shuttle ride to work but I had already arranged to be picked up. I received a call two hours later informing of the issue and that the price previously quoted would stay the same. Once I approved the work, the car was ready an hour later. When I arrived to pick and pay, the car was parked nearby, the price was what was quoted and I was out the door again in less than 10 minutes. Compared to other dealership experiences, see my other reviews, this was a breeze to deal with. It's nice to visit a dealership with reasonable prices, friendly service agents and quick but quality work. Purchased a key fob and had it programmed at the service department. $211 for the fob and $120 to mate it to the car. I did NOT get a key cut - just the fob. When I got home and looked at the bill, I noticed they had charged $12.00 for "shop supplies." Confused as to what "shop supplies" are associated with a key fob programming, I called back the next day to ask about it. Unsurprisingly, the service advisor could not articulate a good reason to charge for "shop supplies" for a key fob programming. She put me on hold to ask her manager, and came back with "we charge that to everybody, regardless of what you come in for. It's the cost of doing business." read more

I would not recommend purchasing a vehicle from here. Let's just say I completely understand there is a shortage of vehicles and employees everywhere but my gosh it's one thing after another here. 1. Features I was told I would have in my vehicle when it arrived was false. I signed all the documents before I actually got my vehicle since it hadn't arrived yet. 2. My vehicle was delayed after I signed several times. The morning it came in I was told it would be ready that evening. By that evening I was told it wasn't done going through cleaning and inspection. I needed my vehicle that night because I had commitments that weekend in which I couldn't move around so they said I could come pick it up. When I picked it up it was dirty with finger prints on the seat from maintenance. These are white seats so it showed. There were nicks and scrapes on the outer part. I was being very picky bc when you pay for a vehicle this expensive, you expect it to be flawless. Here's my issue, I can't get any of this fixed bc they don't have loaners and I don't have days to go without a loaner to get those fixed. They couldn't give me a timeline. Photos are from The initial walkthrough. 3. When I picked up the vehicle, someone else helped me since my salesman was gone. Unfortunately, I was not set up with the intro to my vehicle to set up anything or get taught how to utilize all the functions it comes with. 4. Somewhere someone messed up on the payoff portion of my vehicle. I don't believe it was the gentleman who actually did my paperwork but I believe it happened in accounting. What's my issue? I purchased my vehicle the first week of April. There was a 10 day payoff for my trade in. On April 24th my old finance company drafted the vehicle payment out of my account. When I caught this I contacted the finance company and they informed me they had not received the payoff from the dealership. Therefore it's an active loan. I contacted the salesman and asked him to check on this since I couldn't get in touch with finance. He assured me someone would call me but they didn't. I tried to be patient and give it time. I found out that my previous finance company received payment on May 5. Unfortunately, the payoff was outside the 10 day payoff. What this means is my reimbursement for them drafting my payment was less because more interest accrued. The $40 is not a big deal, the issue is this dealership wouldn't call me back to address this. The other issue is I had the old payment come out after this dealership had more than enough time to pay it. I was going to have to wait for reimbursement. Plus my new payment was due. I finally spoke to one guy who assured me he would call me back with more details. No one ever called me back, nor left me a message. This is poor service. . It's the principle behind all things frustrating with this dealership. 5. My license plate only has one screw holding it on. How tacky. So as of today, since first week of April- my vehicle repairs aren't done. I never did get the finance portion fixed. I give it 2 stars bc the guy in finance was really nice and respectful when I signed. But after that never called me back to discuss this issue with the payments. This is a review of the service department only. I made an appointment for 11:00am for an oil change and 7500 mile service. I arrived at 10:20. The service advisor was very nice and said it would be about an hour, maybe a little longer since they were abnormally busy. I let him know that I would be waiting on site. At about 11:45, I went to check on the progress and the truck hadn't even been taken in. I contacted the service advisor, who said it would be another hour, at least. I got my keys and left. Scheduled an appointment at Valmark Chevrolet in NB for the next morning. In and out within an hour. I'll never use Gunn GMC. I'm not sure why they accept appointments if they book more than they can handle. read more

This has been one of the worst dealerships to deal with when coming to customer service. We paid cash for a $100+K truck 2024 GMC Denali Ultimate 3500 and manager on shift treated me like I was dirt when I was frustrated that it was taking 2 hours plus to get a cash deal truck purchase done. Normally these deals take 15-30 min to go through finance when they are cash deals. Truck came with some issues from factory that they said they would fix. 3 months after truck purchase no one has reached out with any updates for warranty work or where the parts are at. Now today I call to find out what happened to my title paper work and they said " Oh yeah it got sent back to us" when were they going to call to say it didn't get sent out correctly? Now I'm asking for a replacement temp tag and the dealer is saying go to your dmv its not our issue even though they just said they messed the title paper work up. read more

During the entire process, she did an amazing job of keeping us informed as to what the service techs discovered. She even called us the next day, on her day off. Yesterday while shopping at Gunn, my salesman Sergio paid zero mind to me as a customer. He didn't seem to know much about the product I was there to see nor did he seem to be trying to sell it to me. After our test drive I wanted a second to think about it considering everything. We went to eat and when we arrived back to the dealership, we went inside but my pregnant wife had to use the restroom. Sergio and I locked eyes immediately after walking through the door but he did not greet us or wave nor offer us a water etc. After she used the restroom we sat in the waiting area and texted Sergio where we were but he never came to us. After waiting about 30 minutes and texting back and forth he let me know I could not BVA the vehicle. I wanted to borrow it for an hour or so to completely decide on the purchase as we drove up from Corpus on Friday and would not be able to do the 48 hour return policy if something ended up being wrong with the vehicle. We felt unwelcome and unwanted after the entire interaction and lack of customer service we left to look at other dealerships. After looking around my heart was still set on the vehicle at Gunn so I again texted Sergio, who then began seemingly deflating me from making the purchase. Again today I have been trying to reach out to Sergio, Sales Manager Rodolfo, & General Sales Manager Richard Roe and no one has gotten back to me. Horrible customer service and we are very disappointed in our experience. I will never recommend Gunn to any friends or family looking to purchase a vehicle. read more
