I live in Kennedale, Texas, and I genuinely wish I could give this company NEGATIVE 10 stars. Hiring this company after our home flooded in August 2025 was one of the worst experiences my family has ever gone through. We were originally told the repairs would take approximately 8 weeks. It ended up taking OVER 8 MONTHS. Throughout the process, we dealt with constant lies, excuses, gaslighting, and complete unprofessionalism from management -- specifically Sam and later Cory. Both repeatedly gave us false timelines, misleading information, and empty promises. Not only was communication terrible, but the quality of work was absolutely unacceptable. The contractors this company hired were careless and unprofessional. They left our front door wide open overnight on one occasion and repeatedly left our garage open while leaving the property unattended to run errands. At one point, one of the contractors even brought his entire family into our home while working -- something we witnessed on our security cameras. Children were running around inside our house during an active restoration project. Completely unacceptable. The workmanship itself was a disaster. The flooring they installed began buckling shortly after completion, requiring them to come back out and repair it. Now the flooring is buckling AGAIN in multiple areas of the home. When I contacted Cory about fixing the issue and asked about a warranty, I was told they "do not provide warranties" and that too much time had passed -- even though the problems are clearly the result of poor installation and substandard contractors. To make matters worse, because Cory continued giving us inaccurate completion dates, we were forced to move back into an unfinished home after our rental extension could no longer be extended. For FOUR WEEKS, my family lived upstairs in our media room without a functioning kitchen, countertops, stove, or basic living necessities. This company caused my family unnecessary stress, financial hardship, and emotional exhaustion during an already difficult time. Their lack of accountability, poor workmanship, dishonest communication, and complete disregard for customers is beyond unacceptable. At this point, I truly question how this company continues operating. Based on our experience, I would NEVER recommend them to anyone -- not even my worst enemy. Worst rebuild contractor experience I could've ever imagined. Not only did they destroy my kitchen, but have since been nonresponsive and unwilling to take any accountability or any actions to resolve our issues. They originally failed to show me or send me any of the previews/ drawings prior to installing the cabinets in our home leading to massive build discrepancies and cabinets that straight up do not fit the spaces in our kitchen. I could not rate this company any lower and wish they that they would give me a full refund so that I could move on. It's my full intention to take them to court and get our money back. The Gurr Brothers were to replace the underlayment on our roof in 2021 and I understand warranty work, but in 2026 we sold our house and the inspection came back with several rows of tiles were not even nailed down and the underlayment material had a combination of old and new. We contacted Gurr Brothers and we were ghosted, so we ended up paying for the roof twice. read more

Aaron came to our house to set up a quote for our walls, stucco, and carpet the first week of September. The process has been an absolute nightmare! The repair for just the walls was completed 11/13. Since this was such a terrible experience, we are using a different company for the stucco and carpet. The rep who put in the insulation put R13 in our attic/ceiling (instead of the R30 or R38 we had), he didnt put insulation between 2 of the 2x6 beams, he used R13 on a sheet instead of blown in. In multiple slats, the R13 was cut in half, so really we had R6 in our 2x6 walls that face the sun all day. The wall texture was added, but not sanded. I pointed it out, was told it would be taken care of before painting. It wasn't. It was rough and stuck out almost 3 times farther than our original texture on the walls. The paint job looked like a 13 year old was handed his first can of paint and told to paint his room by himself. They used the bathroom to rinse their brushes/tools and left paint and a white film caked on the floor, counter, and mirror. Dan was great. Super responsive. Unfortunately, twice I was told someone would come and they didnt. The last week of this process, Dan sent Rolando who was amazing. He repaired the paint disaster. If it was just Dan and Rolando with this experience, I feel it would have been a completely different outcome. But the 9 weeks of headaches for putting up insulation, drywall, texturing, and painting, is ridiculous. read more

We hired Gurr Brothers Construction LLC for a full interior remodel starting January 29, 2024. We paid $43,198.82, and the project remains unfinished more than a year later. No work has been done since February 2025. Our kitchen is incomplete with cabinet and island issues, cabinets are missing in multiple areas, bathrooms and paint are unfinished, the garage was never completed, and there are workmanship problems throughout the house. Communication completely stopped. Our last contact was May 23, 2025, and despite repeated calls and messages, no one has responded. We were told Gurr Brothers hired K&E Construction LLC to handle rework, but they also never showed up or returned calls. At this point, the project feels abandoned. We only have basic functionality in our home because we had to install appliances and hardware ourselves. Extremely disappointing experience, especially given the amount paid and the length of time involved. I would not recommend this company. read more

Extremely disappointing experience. We had a washer flood and were referred to this company by the mitigation team we used. It's been over a month since they came out for the initial estimate, and we've had zero communication since. There's been no update on the timeline, no clarity on the status with insurance, and they've been completely unresponsive for nearly two weeks now. I still have no idea if they're even moving forward with the job. If this is how difficult it is just to get started, I can't imagine how frustrating the actual work process would be. I've toiled over this review for months as I generally give businesses the benefit of the doubt even if I've had a bad experience. I also wanted to give myself time to cool down before sitting down and writing an angry incomprehensible rant. We decided to work with Gurr Brothers based on a recommendation from another company as well as the positive reviews and want to make sure future customers don't have the same experience as ourselves. I will also try to make this easy to digest since I do have a lot to say. Situation: Drain pipe cracks under the foundation Main project: Demolition, new pipe installation, concrete pour over new pipes, retile entire home Additional project: Kitchen remodel (new kitchen island, new cabinets, replace countertops, rewire electrical, new backsplash) Date of loss: 1/13/2022 Project completion: 3/15/2023 Red flags: -Project duration was 1 year and 2 months when we were given an initial estimate of 4-5 months. We understand that due to the nature of the world at this time (early 2022 and post-pandemic) it might have been difficult to find people to do the work, but they should still communicate openly without us having to call two-plus times a week. -On 2 separate instances we discovered Gurr's contractors left our front door unlocked or the key sitting in the door. -ITEL tile review took over 2 months -and was only resolved because I called ITEL directly myself to resolve the communication issue. -Our home was fully retiled twice due to a majority of tiles with hollow or lippage issues the first time. Background: Over the course of the year we had 5-6 different project managers/point of contacts. Unfortunately we were new homeowners and did not know we should manage the project manager to make sure our home was repaired properly and timely. Insurance was only able to supplement a hotel in Phoenix for 6 months of the project and with the added rollercoaster of life, made it difficult to easily check on our home. We put too much trust in Gurr at the beginning and gave them far too many "second" chances so I do blame myself and this whole process has left me jaded. Silver-lining: Our last project manager, Trent, was the saving grace and pulled our project over the finish line. (Fifth time's the charm, right?) Trent was the first project manager who contacted us consistently with updates without limited follow up from us. When Trent told us a team would be out at our home, he would follow through and if if his team couldn't make it he would schedule them soon after. He was able to have his teams demo and retile our home the second time (after the first iteration was determined to be unsalvageable) within 2-3 months. read more

I cannot recommend this company. We hired them to install drywall, paint and repair flooring that had been damaged from a leak. Their employee came once, installed drywall (poorly I might add), cancelled his next visit, rescheduled then pulled a no show. After Gurr Brothers was having trouble finding someone to complete the job, I asked them to refund us for the work that was not completed. The amount that they held onto for the work that was done was too much. I contacted them regarding this and never received a response. They are not reliable. read more

I had a pipe bust in the wall that caused black mold in my wall and had to have several tiles removed. The tiles were unable to be matched so they replaced all my flooring in the living area. The baseboards were replaced. They removed my furniture in and out of the house. Serina was awesome to work with and kept me updated at all times. I recommend them to others! read more

Edwin and this company are "representing" themselves as Gurr Roofing, Heating, and Sheet Metal, our local Reno company who has been around for years and has a stellar reputation. When Edwin came out to give me an estimate on my roof repairs, he listened to me telling him how nice it was to work with a small, local company, etc, etc. He never once made mention that he was a different company out of Arizona. Edwin did not complete the job I originally called him to do, but he was quick to sell me repairs that he found I needed. read more

They are still working on the house and the damage happened in July 2023. I am beyond frustrated with their lack of urgency and lackadaisical attitude. I don't even feel like writing this review but I feel that others deserve to know to avoid them at all costs. I chose Gurr Bros. because of their great reviews, so I think I owe it to the community to explain the single star. 1. It took them 7 months to do a relatively small job. 2. They often didn't show up when they said or had workers show up without notice. 3. They never cleaned up a thing and left a huge mess. 4. The work was not great. 5. They included over $1,000 worth of charges for work they did not do. Surprisingly, the single star is not because they took 7 months to replace a couple of cabinets and a countertop in my kitchen (yes, 7 long months, mostly without a kitchen). Nor is it because part of the same job involved some plumbing work done so poorly that I had to hire Kendall Plumbing to come out 2x to fix Gurr Bros. work. (Thank you, Fernando at Kendall Plumbing, you're the best) The reason they get 1 star (I would actually go with zero), is because after over 7 months of them promising they would come out and not showing up time and again, their final invoice was full of stuff they didn't do. I pushed back with a detailed list of all the disputed charges, but somehow, even after removing all those charges, the total I owe them is almost the same. (This is based on the outstanding balance one person from Gurr told me over the phone before I received the final invoice.) I get that a lot of people have had great experiences with Gurr, and you're probably thinking I was a total b word, but I wasn't. Honest. My family was experiencing a super scary medical emergency at the time and I simply didn't have the bandwidth to be bitchy or watch Gurr like a hawk. I'm guessing they took advantage of my weakness. I hope not. They really have made me much less trusting of workmen, though, and it makes me incredibly sad. Anyway, I wish I had done more due diligence before I chose them. I'll leave an update after the final invoice is settled and post some pics of their workmanship when I can. Good luck, everybody. UPDATE: So I had a conversation with Topaz (general mgr?) today and she took more charges off for work that wasn't done, but I still owe more than insurance is paying, even over my deductible. And I still have to pay for someone else to do the work they didn't finish. Plus, I'm out $300 for the plumber who fixed Gurr's mistakes. Overall, I still feel like I'm getting screwed although I find the invoices difficult to understand, so maybe I'm not. I'm finding it hard to trust them. I may just pay them so I can stop worrying constantly. It's no fun. I have a knot in my stomach all the time over this. I'm guessing my poor decision not to interview more contractors is going to cost me over $1000 plus 7 months of misery. I'll update this when I decide what to do. :( read more

We decided to work with Gurr Brothers based on a recommendation from another company as well as the positive reviews and want to make sure future customers are aware of the problems I encountered. So I decided to hire Gurr Brothers to do work on our house due to flooding. In the beginning they seemed good but as weeks and months went I encountered many problems causing hardship and stress. Gave them many chances to make it right but never came thru to my satisfaction. Big issue was lack of communication with contractor and workers. Would either show up unannounced or a no show. Myself and our insurance company were promised the house would be finished or livable by a certain date for the insurance was no longer going to pay living expenses. Never happened. My mom and I already paid over $8,000 on rent from April to August and the insurance was no longer going to pay for the Pod to store our things. So we ended up spending thousands out of our pocket in order to get the work done so the house was livable and could move back in. On top of that things were missing or damaged which to this day have not been reimbursed for any loss. Walked in the house one day and the painter was spray painting with Amish furniture, pictures and other items still in home and nothing was covered. Was promised to compensate for the damage but apparently that went out the window hoping I would let it slide. Also my expensive kitchen blinds were rolled up and thrown outside for weeks. Found some parts lying on the rocks. This material can't be cleaned only vacuumed. So this has to be replaced due to wrinkles, dirt spots and even seen some paint on it. Another issue is they never cleaned up before leaving and if I was there I would say something. Apparently they couldn't keep workers either such as painters. We must have had at least 3 change overs. This company is licensed and bonded so they are insured to pay for any damages, repairs, compensation, or stolen items but apparently don't care. I have a long list of issues I dealt with from having to hire someone else to re-due work because the work was done unprofessionally and workers were very careless, on top of taking too long. Also they were paid to do work that was never performed and refuse to refund money due to us the insurance company paid them. This is fraud. Paint is peeling and trim is not all sealed. A lot of items and projects were left undone so I paid out of pocket to finish it. Had to also unpack and put away everything myself including setting up beds etc. This is not the homeowners responsibility. Another issue is when the tile was removed items were still in house and not covered causing thick dust and dirt on everything. Had to haul bedding, towels, cloths whatever that needed to be washed to where we were staying, wash roughly 80+ loads plus soap, electricity, etc., fold, pack and haul back to the house where it was stored in the Pod. This took 3-4 days to complete. The tile that was removed in the house a lot of pieces were stuck inside the windows to where I had to hire someone to come out and open the 2 windows in the living room and remove the pieces. Paid someone to clean windows inside too which I thought the insurance company would pay for all the cleaning inside once done, and same as unpacking and putting away all your belongings. This should not happen if things were done right. If I had to do it all over again I would have hired each project individually and not go thru the contractor. It seems they have more rights and think they can get away with it hoping it will go away. Because of the headaches I have gone thru I highly do not recommend this company to do any work or you will lose a lot of money and also not be happy with the end results. They do not take their work seriously, poor customer service (customers come last), and all they care about is rush thru and get it done. The Gurr Brothers Team helped us with some major renovations after some issues with our house's pipes. As people who have never gone through the insurance process or done any work to our house, we had no idea what to expect. Our initial plumber helped us through the beginning stages, and then we got to the part where we needed to rebuild our home. I turned to Yelp and saw the amazing photos and reviews of Gurr Brothers and decided to go with them after checking that they were approved by our insurance. That's when we got connected with Taylor and his team! Everyone we worked with at Gurr Brothers was kind, thoughtful, and respectful when entering our home. They also do some pretty great work. We had our kitchen and bathroom rebuilt by them. Alex did the tile in our home and went above and beyond trying to help us find more of a tile after we ran out and discovered the tile had since been discontinued after we had purchased it. We also got some new wiring done by their in house electrician and they did an amazing job. If you've never gone through a home reno project I do have a few tips: Remember to make time to be there for the contractor if you have a specific vision in mind. Keep in mind things will take more time then you think -- especially with COVID! It will be stressful regardless but the finished product is worth it! I did not have a positive experience at all with Gurr Brothers. I had a water damage issue in my home that involved two levels of needed repairs. They were recommended by a local restoration company that uses them for the rebuild. Someone showed up promptly for a walkthrough and a quote was provided to me and my insurance company a few days later. The insurance company approved it shortly after. So far, so good. An appointment was set up to begin the rebuild. They were a no show. A second appointment was set up. They were a no show. Neither time did they give me a phone call or email to tell me about it. They had a down payment from me and I was told that they would reverse the charge when I called and said I was pulling the contract for their lack of response . That never happened. I had to call my credit card company to have the charge put on hold and then the credit card company's fraud department had to do all the leg work to get them to finally release the funds back. This wasn't a small job where in the past I have been passed over because the contractor found a better opportunity elsewhere. This was simply a poorly run organization. Fortunately, I found a responsive contractor and the repairs were made in a timely fashion without all the headache. read more

I absolutely cannot recommend Gurr Brothers. We had water damage from a broken pipe in-between a wall shared by our Laundry Room, Master Bathroom and Walk-In Closet. Gurr Brothers was referred to us by the remediation company as one of their partners. To be respectful, I'll leave the names out - The project superintendent made his first visit and tentatively quoted us 2-3 weeks for all 3 rooms to be back to 100%. 3 months and 1 week later the reconstruction/remodel is complete. Every step of reconstruction was laden with communication problems and poor measurements. Some examples: The tile floor was measured wrong, and we had to add additional time to completing the floor. The floor installers were also not instructed to complete the baseboard installation. Once another team was scheduled for the baseboards, they were given instructions to complete 1 of the 3 rooms, requiring a 3rd team to be scheduled. The painter wasn't told that we decided to change colors, and had already picked it out - cut a sizable hole in the drywall to color match the old color. This hole required an additional visit to patch. The drywall repair in the laundry room decided not to move pipes, missing a 6inch by 2inch section of the wall with both drywall and paint. This required another visit to remedy. Initially we decided to rebuild our existing vanity. 3 weeks into what we thought was a vanity being built, we were told that they decided to replace it with a new vanity. They mis-matched the color, making the mirror and sink red and brown respectively. They also mis-measured, making our granite countertop and wide sink not fit the new cabinet they JUST installed. After they removed the 'new' vanity they decided again to rebuild the old one, with the superintendent forgetting to deliver the drawers and drawer slides to the cabinet builder. The vanity was measured wrong. The floorboards were measured wrong. Paint was subpar. Drywall was half-assed. Every step of this process had some type of scheduling, communication or measuring issue that I would not expect a professional to make, let alone repeatedly. And finally (but not lastly, unfortunately) every call I made to the project superintendent was met with a full voicemail box, but NEVER a return call. read more

If I could rate this company no stars I would. Our experience has been super disappointing especially when they were recommended. They came out Tuesday of last week advised they'd have a quote to us by EOD. Nothing - called to touch base with them on Friday asking if maybe it was misplaced and was told they get right back to us as their estimator was out ill. Called again on Monday and LVM with Tracey to see if we could get an idea when to expect details since we are on a tight deadline for hosting a large event in our home. Again, no response. Reviews like this come out when you leave your clients in the dark and when you fail respond after multiple attempts. Companies who are true to their word and respond when they say they will earn out business over and over again regardless of price. Gurr Brothers you're officially out... We are no longer interested! If I could give these guys zero stars I would. Seriously. Beware of this company. From not showing up at the times that they promised to taking months upon months to complete a job that should have been done in a matter of weeks (so we were told) I would never recommend them to anyone. They did a sloppy job and we were honestly too tired of it all and just wanted to be done with it as we have kids and a high traffic home which was struggling with all of the supplies that were laying around for MONTHS. Grrrrr..... We hired Gurr to manage our rental house project that involved demo for a re-plumbing of all sewer lines and reconstruction. We began late 2020 and were told the project would go very quickly, they just finished in June 2021. We hired them to lead the project and found ourselves 100% involved all along the way as the workmanship was awful. Talking about flooring being installed poorly leaving gaps between the baseboard and flooring you could fit a finger in. The bathtub surround was asked to be installed with subway tile no offset, found it installed with 50% offset. Baseboard was installed but wasn't the material we chose. Drywall work was subpar. Their ability to manage projects was amateur and reactive. Their subcontractors went unsupervised. I am giving two stars as their only redeeming quality was that they did attempt to fix some things and were fairly pleasant but was just that, a lot of talk but no production or results. Way too much follow up required and very poor communication from the construction lead(s). Oh and they left our front door and back door unlocked more that 5 times at least that we caught after drilling into them this was totally unacceptable as the house was vacant. And they still haven't shown up to fix a couple of remaining items, we are giving up as could not wait to cut ties with this unreliable company. I could go on and on but just let me tell you I don't recommend them for the simplest of jobs. It was overall a very poor experience, we'll be hiring true professionals going forward. read more

Gurr Brothers has done a decent job repairing issues caused by our flooded sink area...though not completed yet. There was some miscommunication: some items didn't get resolved as discussed, such as refinishing the exterior of the cabinet doors. Also, our issue occurred in October and it is only now, February, that the repairs are being addressed and taken care of. This may not have been totally Gurr Brothers' fault as they were booked solid leading up to Christmas and beyond with pre-scheduled jobs. Despite some of these problems, certain individuals at Gurr Brothers have been particularly helpful. A young man named Ivan did an incredible job with his portion of the plumbing area and the painting of the kitchen and family room. He was extremely nice, conscientious and meticulous in his work. His assistant, Andrew, also did a nice job with his share of the painting and furniture-moving. Erin, who is the point person for setting up repair schedules, has also been a great help, as was Bradley, who originally came out to provide an estimate for the repairs. We just want this done and over with so we can have our sink area back to normal! read more

Had to get new flooring and some misc repairs from a water heater leak. We were well taken care of from the start by Gurr Bros. Communication was excellent. Our repairs were prioritized and we're happy with the result. Gurr Brothers did beautiful work rebuilding my kitchen after an unfortunate water damage incident under my kitchen sink. They re-built my kitchen cabinetry and made them look absolutely identical to the original cabinets; the end-piece of my cabinets actually looked better than before. I will now always call Gurr Brothers' plumber, Don and electrician, Jake, who both helped get the job done - they were incredibly knowledgeable, professional and amazing at their jobs. Sam managed my project and he went above and beyond to make sure everything got done correctly and any issues were promptly addressed. Absolutely would NOT recommend!!! Over changed my Insurance and did not do the work they quoted . Took 4 months to change a toilet flange repair. Charged for dwelling damage when there was none . Left the bathroom looking sloppy and made me the villain for asking for it to be cleaned up, work to be proud of ,by replying it was not under quote. Never gave me a time line when they would arrive , people quit during project , no one new what was going on . Literally paid 20k for a 6k project. So burned out at end just wanted it done.
