My husband and I drive a Subaru Outback and Honda CRV that are 10+ years old, so we need real work done on cars that don't have a lot of value. S&S Auto Tech are great at maintenance and big fixes. However, eventually I complained enough that they "unretired" a general manager who seemed the only one to understand how to address warranty issues and they agreed to repair my vehicle. It took a year to get the warranty honored and to be heard. Let that sink in- a year. And they had to "unretire" a person to get customer service to happen. Crazy. So I scheduled almost a month in advance. It still took them three days with minimal communication and maybe I'm just bitter but I am very surprised the unretired general manager (Mr. Kenny, if you're wondering who it is) never contact me again to see why I was frustrated about the length of time it was taking. Or to see if the problem was finally resolved. Or to see if I'd change my reviews. So, I am happy to report they honored the warranty but I would never recommend these guys unless you're desperate. Additional context (prior service): * The week prior, I had them work on two different vehicles. * One vehicle was repaired correctly. * The second vehicle only worked for a couple of hours before the issue returned. * I planned to have that second vehicle looked at again during this scheduled visit. * During that prior service: * The technician arrived approximately 3 hours late. * Even though they knew in advance they would be replacing an oxygen sensor, they did not bring the proper tools and had to leave to purchase the correct socket before completing the job. * No test drive was performed afterward to verify the repair. Key issue: This is not about job authorization. Come noon the next day I had not received a phone call from A1-Auto informing me that the tires had arrived. I called the shop several times but no one picked up. I went down to the shop and arrived at 12:30 P.M. Dan stated to me in a very rude fashion: "I told you to be here at 12." I informed him that he did not tell me to be there at 12, but instead that he stated to me that he would call me when the tires arrived and that I should then come to the shop after I received his call. Dan then informed me that the closest appointment for rescheduling was 3 days away which was too long for me to wait. I then asked for a refund which I eventually received but still had to pay a $60 tire restocking fee which I shouldn't have had to pay because it was Dan's fault for not calling me to inform me that the tires had come in, which is what he said he would do when I initially paid for the tires. This place is a ripoff & they steal their customers' money. I instead took my business to Midas of Catonsville and received prompt, courteous & competent service.

I was charged over $400 or $500 to correct the issue just for me to leave and immediately continue hearing the rattling before I left the lot. I was so mad that I didn't even turn back around nor called about it. I just decided I wasn't returning and took the loss, and that's on me. I don't know what the resolution would have been if I took action. However, what I do know is that I went elsewhere to have the issue fixed.
