It was covered in fresh, tasty toppings, nice sauce and had an excellent crust. My 91 year old Mother enjoyed it so much she ate a full half of the 16" pizza in one sitting. Being from Chicago, I was excited to find a pizza restaurant in Joplin Missouri and couldn't wait to sink my teeth in a Chicago Style Pizza right here in Missouri!.... After ordering a large deep dish with extra CHEESE sausage and pepperoni, my husband and I drove to the location on 7th street to pick up the pizza. Question: how is this establishment able to call themselves "Chicago Pizza??" The LARGE Pizza we ordered was the size of a medium pizza you would get in Chicago. The pizza sauce was too salty The sausage wasn't like Chicago at all! It came in the form of "sausage pellets" not the chunks of juicy, mouth-watering quarter sized pieces of sausage you would get at a real Chicago Pizzeria. I asked for EXTRA CHEESE, was charged for the extra cheese but the pizza hardly had any cheese on it that you would find on a authentic Chicago Pizza... The weirdest thing about this Missouri version of Chicago Pizza, is that they put the over salted tomato sauce they call pizza sauce ON TOP of the pizza! The crust was "cracker-like" and didn't have the crispness on the outside combined with the soft chewy inside and the taste of the crust didn't have then yeasty taste a pizza crust should have. I'd say it's a bit better than pizza chains like Pizza Hut or Papa John's if you're wanting to order to go or have it delivered, but not a place I'm going to go for pizza if this makes sense. This was for pick up, so I can't really speak to the "in-restaurant" experience. We ordered a calzone and spaghetti with meatballs. Let me say the meatball was one of the best I've ever had. The spaghetti itself was cooked well. Now as for the sauce they use, maybe it's just me, but it is harsh! It has a very strong, bitter flavor to it. The seasoning was fine, but whatever else they put in it is just horrible tasting. I was able to tolerate a few bites of the spaghetti, but the calzone was a no go for me, my son, and my husband. Trust me, we can eat the cheapest frozen pizza with no problem, but this calzone was just not good, mostly because of the sauce. Now the crust is more like a saltine cracker, which we didn't care for. We prefer a soft, yet chewy crust with a nice initial crunch...if that makes sense. The veggies in the calzone were also raw, rather than cooked and softened. I had high hopes for this place but unfortunately we won't be back. NO, I do not recommend them. We decided to get a delivery of pizzas. Not only was the wrong size delivered, but the delivery driver sat it on our porch and never knocked or rang doorbell. I called and spoke with "the owner". He was very unprofessional. He said they just started delivery this week and still needed to tweek some things. I agreed saying maybe let the drivers know to knock or ring doorbell before they drop n go. it wasn't like doordash where we could track our meal. So I spent $46 on 2 personal pan pizzas. it was supposed to be 10 inch pizzas but clearly was a personal pan with 4 slices. The "owner" made the comment I would have spent the same amount on McDonald's. You know he is right but at least my food would have been warm. He asked what I wanted him to do. I told him it is his job as a manager to handle customer service when customers call with a complaint. He quickly said im not a manager but the owner. Even worse!!! Ordered delivery so gave them Grace for the late delivery. The 2 Hawaiian Turkey bacon sandwiches bread was hard as a rock. The sandwiches come w ranch dressing. I paid for extra homemade ranch dressing. I got NO ranch dressing at all. This is the second time I was not sent ranch. I called the store and told the manager this. Usually, Gusano's is very good. We frequent the Bentonville and Fayetteville locations. Tonight we tried the Pleasant Grove, Rogers location a try, and we were not impressed. I would say the "deep dish" was not deep and the crust was burnt and it didn't have many pepperonis. We let the Waitress know and she took our pizza to the cooks and then brought it back and said, "the cooks said it is cooked how it should be." Just letting everyone know what to expect. read more

This was quite literally the worst pizza I've ever had. It was over cooked and undercooked at the same time. If you want to go into a restaurant and wait 15 minutes before your presence is acknowledged this is the place for you. The food is hardly edible and there's enough grease on the pizza to fill up one of their beer pitchers. Clearly someone with zero experience or any common sense is running this excuse of an establishment. It's nearly pitch black inside and on top of that it's overpriced for the mushy cardboard they call pizza. I wouldn't feed this food to my dogs 0/10 don't recommend. Thursday half price appetizers from 5-9 ( this special may just be for football season). Their pizza dip is so very yummy!!! Layered with cream cheese, sauce, pepperoni, peppers, onions and mozzarella!! Served hot with---wait for it---Frito Scoops. Try it out. Got the pizzas home and was very disappointed. They were saturated in sauce and the chunks of tomato were overwhelming to the point of being soupy and could hardly taste any of the toppings. Avoid this place like the plague. I've been here a few times and it only gets worse each time. The bartenders only care about the regulars. The regulars are loud and annoying. They were way over served on the booze. I waited an hour and a half at the bar for a 10" pizza and salad. The salad was hot and the pizza was cold. Very sad state of affairs. It's unfortunate. It could be a great place to go since options are limited in this area on bar service. And I get all the way home and they didn't put any dressing with the salad. This place SUCKS!!! read more

We ordered an 8 inch that was a total of 4 small slices of pizza for 10.00, 9 inch pizza Chicago style now yes it was bigger but only because of the crust and it was 15.00 so you might want to make sure you have a small appetite but a hefty wallet. Now I will say the Pizza dip for the starter was really tasty but yet it too was 10.00. We like the Rogers location because its close and rarely that busy. Maybe not the best endorsement but sometimes you want a comfortable place with a good wait and bar staff and decent enough food. This isnt the place to get gourmet but its solid when you stick to the basics. The thin crust pizza is always good. Fresh with lots of toppings and a decent crust. When we have been disappointed was when we went with deeper dish chicago pizza or the calzone. Chicago crust and cheese never seems quite done and the calzone just didnt work. The crust is too thick and again seems a little under done. Now the thin crust pizza is really good and they have several apps that are hearty and great for snacking (cheese bread). We like the bar area with plenty of TVs for games and really good bartenders. Saw where some people complained of service but we have been here many times and cant remember a bad service issue. read more

Came with a large group and reserved the game room which worked out really well. Service was below average. She also did not offer the monthly discount on the item that we ordered. Good solid regional pizza chain. The pizza is fairly pricey but unless you're getting a Pizza Hut or dominoes anymore they're all fairly pricey. They do have a Chicago style which is pretty good. The sauce is fairly unique ... They use the same marinara whether it be on the Chicago style or the regular style pie. This is a good sauce...
