Another wonderful experience at this location! I made reservations for a group of 6 people through their online reservation portal. It's easy to use and I love having all the information in writing, including address and phone number, so I can forward the information to others in the group. So convenient! We met our group for lunch at noon on a Sunday. We were seated right away. Our table was set up and ready with menus. Our server was friendly, helpful and attentive. We started with a couple of their fondue platters, one with bread and sausage, and one with a pretzel. We love their cheese fondue! I believe it's the same recipe the original Gustav's owners used. This is the only Gustav's left in the Portland/Vancouver area. They are now owned by the NW Hospitality Group, who also owns Amaro's Table and Cecilia's restaurants. All of their locations have great service and delicious food! I appreciate that the new owners kept all the cool Bavarian decor. It really adds to the experience! Our group ordered a wide variety of entrees...salmon, schnitzel, sandwiches, soups, salads, etc. Everyone was happy with their meals and drinks. Our server kept the drinks coming and made sure our water glasses were full. She was great! Overall, our group had a very nice time here. I would highly recommend.

What a sensational place! In the lower part of WA state there's a real real German resturaunt! I couldn't believe what I saw when we walked in and we were transported to southern Germany! I give this place a very high grade for atmosphere, ambiance, service and German style food! I'm a German American - an immigrant in fact who has lived many years in Germany with my family. It was by chance we came upon Gustav's and we were overjoyed at our discovery! If you want German style food done the German way this is the place. I've lived all around the states and never have I found such authentic kitchen! Don't miss this! Alles Schmekt gut!

This place is absolutely adorable. Its an experience by itself. All of the food we ordered was yummy. Some portions were enormous and some portions were not. We all liked the food well enough. Server was wonderful. We would be back. The only thing id love is a visual menu because I had to Google half the items to see what they were.

We love this restaurant it never disappoints. The service is always so good. All the people who work there are just very friendly and take excellent care of you our server yesterday her name was Jess, but the rest of the staff. I don't know their names, but they were all wonderful. The food was so good we ordered mostly off the happy hour menu. I love this restaurant so much and the way that you feel like you're in Germany when you're there, it's beautiful inside! Compliments to all the staff and the chef for sure

Sat at the bar for happy hour. I got the die bloom cocktail, it was really good. I feel like their happy hour deals aren't that great though!

Love German food and don't see it around that often. Had to come in and give it a try. It looks like a mountain side chalet inside, high ceilings and lots of often beans. Really cool Service was prompt and friendly. Alex was my server, helped me with my questions and recommended a few things. Started with the Bier onion soup and it was good. Could have used more broth cause the bread sucked it all up but was cheesy and delicious Had the Hungarian jager schnitzel with Spatzle and it was amazing. Breaded thin pork with a nice gravy. Was so good Ordered the apple strudel for dessert with a coffee and it was really good. Had the special beer, wunderbock. Was nutty and full and the perfect drink for a cold day Great experience would definitely come back

Another excellent visit! And, their doing a family schnitzel (take away only) for $59. So you basically get one for free. This is a great deal for meals for the week.

We were concerned when Gustav's sold - BUT - today we couldn't be happier! The service has remained impeccable (thank you Matt and Jess), the food is well executed and the ambiance has remained just as charming and inviting as it's always been. We strongly recommend Gustav's! It remains one of our top favorite places to dine.

Gustav's feels less like a restaurant and more like a cozy little corner of Bavaria -- warm, inviting, and unpretentious. We're always greeted with a smile and seated quickly, which sets the tone right away. The service is spot-on: attentive enough to be helpful but never pushy, so you can actually enjoy your company and your food. The dishes are honest, comforting fare -- hearty, well-seasoned, and satisfying in the way good German food should be. The dining room leans into the theme without feeling gimmicky; the decor and atmosphere put you in the same headspace as Leavenworth, which makes a meal here feel a bit like a mini escape. Perfect for a celebration or just a solid, flavorful dinner out. Friendly staff, good vibes, and reliably tasty food -- we'll keep coming back.

I've spent years traveling to Germany for business, so I let me tell you... Gustav's is serving one fantastic schnitzel !!! Service was very good, and the restaurant has an authentic German feel. Lots of wood tables and big windows! The beer menu is excellent with several hard to find German beers on tap.

The upholstery is looking very worn. I wish you would german music. The music you play destryes the mode you are trying to create. Sad.

He enjoys playing dj with his curated music, which also had merit, but again was too loud for a weekday lunch. I'm not an old fart, (I think he and I were close to the same age) but old enough to have lost some hearing in my youth, and it was still a bit loud. The pork rinds were good, surprisingly generous and tasted very fresh. I liked the Tajin on them, but would have preferred it to be an option (shaker on the table) rather than just full coverage. I would have shared them, but the person I was dining with doesn't care do the spice. I ordered the bbq bacon cheeseburger with the sauce on the side and it was a generous portion, that was well-cooked. Just the way I ordered it! That being said, the beef was relatively tasteless and the whole sandwich was extremely greasy. The bacon on the sandwich was plentiful and not as greasy as the burger and cheese. I don't know the fries would be seasoned. It may or may not have been on the menu, I honestly can't recall. The place seemed well kept and customer oriented, food service wise, but the ambiance could be dialed down for the lunch crowd. If there was an alternate burger available nearby, I might not give Brothers a second chance. But I can't hate on it. Just a few too many flaws for the price, which was not cheap. Paying over $5 for a Mexican Coke was pretty steep since I didn't see any fountain options. But lastly, too be fair, the bartender was VERY kind!

Several outdoor seating options too. Several beers on tap but I love IPAs, so that's what I got. The 5k was my favorite. The Santa Fe chicken sandwich was quite good. Plenty of flavor there. It came with a side of chips that were perfectly crunchy and salty. I'll definitely be frequenting this brewery.

Much has changed here since my last review, so I thought I should update it…read more They have expanded the space inside to include a larger bathroom, which is awesome considering they only had one gender neutral bathroom available when we first started coming here. There are more tables too, both normal height and high tops. They've also added a pool table and cornhole, in addition to the original ping pong table. Their menu has evolved as well. In addition to pizzas, sandwiches and appetizers, they've added a Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese, spinach artichoke dip and ice cream floats. They have a nice variety of beers and ciders. Staff is always friendly and helpful. We love their QR code ordering system. It helps you get your food faster and you can just pay your tab on your phone. Such a convenience! You can also make reservations online, which is great for large parties. As others have mentioned, it is located in an odd industrial area set back from the main road. It's easy to miss if you're not watching for their sign. There's plenty of parking and a large outdoor seating area during the summer. Their food prices have gone up, and some items seem a little steep now, but that seems to be happening everywhere nowadays.
