Gusto! is one of my favorite places to grab grub that's healthy and delicious when I'm in Atlanta. While zipping up and down the Beltline, I took a brief detour to search for a quick dinner. I found gusto! on Ponce and was so pleasantly surprised. Let me start with the menu and ordering process. Gusto!'s menu shines in simplicity. It consists of three decisions. First, choose your flavoring (e.g. chipotle, tahini, chile). Then, choose your protein (e.g. chicken, shrimp, avocado), and lastly, pick how'd like to have it served (e.g. on rice, flatbread or greens). It's super straight-forward and fit for a lot of dietary needs - including gluten-free eaters. My favorite combination is tahini cucumber feta flavoring with grilled chicken on brown rice. It's oh-so very delicious and blissfully healthy. I honestly can eat this for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day of the week. Yum! Your selection is made to order and ready in minutes. As a bonus, you receive a small bag of fried sweet potatoes chips, which are totally a guilty pleasure. If you want to keep things healthy, feel free to pass it on to your neighbor. This place's branding game is really impressive, super clean and impressive for a local chain. I think they're really onto something with their format both in terms of food and presentation; they let you build your own wrap, bowl, or salad in a way that's pretty fun and customer-friendly; the food wasn't amazing but it was good for fast food, which it really pretty much is (chicken was a little dry, there was a lot more sauce than the wrap I ordered needed, sweet potato chips were a little bit stale and salty). Definitely still good enough that I would eat here again though. It almost feels like a better, more interesting take on what a place like Chipotle or Subway is supposed to be, kind of just fresh customizable "healthy" fast food. Gustos is my favorite healthy "fast" food place in Midtown! I'd choose this place any day over chipotle or moe's...IT's JUST THAT GOOD! I've been visiting here for a few years and always get the same BBQ Bowl with rice and salad and chicken and shrimp! This is my go to dish here. Gusto's food is always fresh, hot, and you get a great amount of food for your $$$. They always have lots of options, drinks (wine and beer) and desert available. The ambiance here is amazing as well! Located across the street from the Claremont Lounge and a short walk to Ponce City Market. They have recently renovated their patio and it's super nice! It is dog friendly as well so I highly taking the pup out to sit on it. Overall, this is a great restaurant when you want healthy good eats with plenty of options. read more

I mentioned that we should get some yesterday after our work out but we weren't close enough and were outside of the city (tear, tear). We actually walked into gusto! on a whim last weekend. The restaurant I originally wanted to try didn't have takeout, so we walked over to gusto and boy am I glad we did! The gusto! system is very similar to Chipotle, you pick your protein (or not, they have vegan options too), you pick your carb OR salad OR both (say what?!), you pick your drink, and voila! gusto! has something for everyone. Chipotle mango avocado, ginger lime peanut, and chile sesame bbq are just a few ways you can gusto! I had the chile sesame bbq and omg that sauce with my salad and rice, and shrimp, just hit the spot. Every meal comes with sweet potato chips (are they bbq guys? I can't tell.) I'm not sure if I'm a fan of those chips. I'm on the fence because I love sweet potato anything pretty much. I'll update next time. The menu also has quesadillas, tzatziki or hummus snackers, alcoholic beverages (beer and wine) and most importantly - they are so efficient in prepping your order and the staff are quick with it. I've been here plenty of times and the service and food is always so consistent and yummy. My gusto is the Chile Sesame BBQ 1/2 brown rice and greens with a flatbread on the side. With extra sriracha drizzled on top! They off local drinks and desserts and I just love it! I was at Hotel Clermont for a game night event and noticed Gusto was across the street. It had been on my list of restaurants to check out so I figured this was fate smiling on me for braving the winter chill. I headed over afterwards at about 7:30 and the restaurant was quiet. There were only a couple people there. It's an open space with white walls, aluminum counters and table tops, distressed wood and, concrete floors. Upon entering you'll see posters of all of their different sauces. Since it was my first time the cashier gave me a rundown of the menu and how ordering worked. Basically you pick a sauce, a protein, and then a vehicle (salad, bowl, or wrap). I ended up choosing the sweet soy sriracha bowl with half mixed greens and half brown rice and the spicy grilled chicken as my protein. The bowl was very good. The grilled chicken was tender and juicy and the sauce was sweet and tangy. I was quite satisfied after finishing but not stuffed and ready to pass out. I'd get this again. The bowls/wraps come with sweet potato chips. I love sweet potatoes so this was a bonus for me and the chips were really good. After I checked out I noticed their white chocolate macadamia nut cookie and decided to get one. While I was waiting to pay the manager who knew it was my first time gave it to me on the house. I really dig this place. Reminds me of Chipotle or Chopt, or any build your own bowl or salad concept. I had the Sweet Soy Sriracha with grilled chicken and mixed greens. Very flavorful and tasty! I didn't care for the cookie too much (personally don't like soft, thick cookies), but the lemon butter cookie was delish. I will definitely order more food from here again. Met up with a girlfriend for dinner and I must say this was a cute place for a simple bite to eat. I loved the decor and I almost forgot I was in Atlanta. Glad I get to finally review this place! I came in for a later lunch on Memorial Day, and it wasn't super super packed, but the inside was pretty cute and spacious. I opted to eat in their outdoor seating (about 4 tables w/ umbrella shades) because the weather was so nice:) I ordered the chipotle mango avocado bowl and my bf ordered the chile sesame bbq. I thought mine was very good, felt pretty healthy + filling, and it was balanced with the sauce with a little bit of heat! Didn't try my bf's, but he seemed to enjoy his too, and I tried his sauce and felt it was very flavorful. I've taken friends for a leisure lunch, and found it it a nice quiet spot for some alone time. We have tried almost every dish and they are all so fresh and packed with flavor. I think the tahini/feta and ginger/lime are some of my favorite bowls, though it's hard to choose. I normally eat a salad or the half rice, half lettuce option, but the Mediterranean flavors are also really tasty in a wrap. The service here is consistently amazing. Not only does the staff work quickly and accurately fill orders, they are so happy and friendly they normally boost my mood by the time I've paid for my meal. The first time we ate at this location, someone came by to check on us. He chatted for a little and took a picture for us. It wasn't until later that we realized he was the owner. Another good build your own bowl spot! I've only tried a couple of their bowls so far and both have been good. My go to is always the tzatziki lemon artichoke bowl but today I tried the sweet chili mango bowl and really liked it! I wish there was a bit more volume of food in the bowls because there are other places where I can get two servings out of a bowl vs only getting one but that's just my preference. Service is usually quick and the inside feels open and airy. They could have set it up a little differently to get a few more tables in but there's always limited space in this area of Atlanta. Here's the recap: Location: Easy spot off of Ponce de Leon with a great parking lot situation -- we were there around 8 p.m. on a Saturday night and there were plenty of spots to be had. They have plenty of seating inside and a great patio out front! Food: Delicious! I loved having the options of several different "backgrounds" for my bowl. I went with the Korean BBQ flavor with portabella as my "meat." I would have liked to have more veggies in the bowl to bulk it up a bit, but the flavor was great and I enjoyed the different toppings and sauces it included. (You have the option to pick your base -- rice, salad or 1/2 and 1/2 -- I went with the salad, but would probably pick the 1/2 and 1/2 next time for heartier meal). Drinks: Lots of good local options for beer that surprised me! Service: Great! It was my husband and my first time at Gusto! and the staff were really helpful in giving recommendations and offering suggestions. If you're like me, you struggle on a weekly (daily?) basis with being too lazy to cook dinner, but also not wanting to fill your bod with absolute crap. Gusto! has saved me many times on these occasions. Yes, they have a bowl that tastes very similar to Chipotle as referenced by their "our chipotle is better" sign outside, but they also have many other options. It's a fast casual type of place where you order up front on one end and pay at the other. By the time you are finished paying, your food is usually ready. They don't make your food in front of you, which I actually prefer! I have tried the Tahini Feta Cucumber, Chipotle Mango Chicken, Buttermilk Buffalo Bleu, and most recently, Tzatziki Lemon Artichoke--- and they were all really fresh and flavorful and hit the spot as a healthier alternative for whatever flavor "profile" I was craving at the time. You can also customize your meal to be either a salad, brown rice bowl, half salad half rice bowl, or flatbread wrap. I usually get the half salad half rice. It doesn't look like that much food but its actually really filling. The dressing comes on the side so you are able to put as little or as much as you want. Protein options include grilled chicken, spicy chicken, grilled shrimp, and also portabella mushroom as a vegetarian option. Each order comes with a delicious side of sweet potato chips. I like this location because it's convenient to my place and has plentiful, free parking. It's also open an hour later than the Buckhead one. You'll walk in, choose your base (rice, lettuce, a combination of both, or a flatbread); add your protein if desired (grilled shrimp, grilled chicken, or grilled portabella); and then add your flavor. There are six choices for flavorings: - Chile Citrus BBQ - Apple Curry Peanut - Tahini Cucumber Feta - Chipotle Mango Avocado - Sweet Soy Sriracha - Buffalo Buttermilk Blue I opted for a half-and-half (i.e. lettuce and rice) bowl topped with grilled shrimp and the Chile Citrus BBQ flavor. The portion was quite nice - more than enough for a simple lunch, especially with a side of sweet potato chips. I tossed a little extra heat into the mix by adding jalapeno vinegar (offered on the condiment stand). Everything tasted really fresh and really delicious.
