Came into town on business. The moment I saw there was a Jason's Deli, I knew where dinner would be…read moreevery night...or so I thought. Walked in around 5:30. Looked to be about six tables occupied with guests. Walked up to register. No one there. However, one gentleman, while making food spoke and said it would be just a moment. Then some lady comes up from behind and asks what I need. I ordered the salad bar as I always do. She gives me the amount, I pay, she hands me the change and nothing else. No counting back my change from the hundred dollar bill, no thank you, nothing. Walk to the end. Guy asks what I need. I said I ordered the salad bar. Had the ticket in hand. He puts the plates on tray and hands them to me. No thank you, no have a nice day, nothing. Salad bar was excellent. I will say that. Jason's is one of my favorite places because salad is my favorite food. While I sat and ate, I looked around. Most of the tables were dirty, floors were dirty, tables and chairs in disarray and yet, no more than six tables in there. The employees, with the exception of the above mentioned I spoke of look like a scene from the Walking Dead. Should Frank Darabont ever need to cast again, I would suggest starting in Columbus, GA at Jason's Deli. Complete misery on their faces. No greetings, no smiles, no communication, nothing. I am giving it three stars only because the salad bar was great but doubtful I'll be back while I'm here. Have a great day!!

I mean, it's gonna be like $120," delivered in that tone that's equal parts eye-roll and "30 tamales is beyond our capabilities" revelation. Look, I've slaved over homemade tamales with my family--picture us in the kitchen like a chaotic assembly line of corn husks and masa mishaps, laughing through the sweat. But hey, isn't that literally the restaurant's gig? To crank out tamales whether it's a dainty dozen or a full-on fiesta invasion? I politely inquire why my order is apparently triggering World War Tamale, and she snaps back, "Do you want them or NOT?" like I'm auditioning for a reality show called "Survivor: Takeout Edition." I've haunted this joint more times than a ghost in a piñata factory, and I could pick that female voice out of a lineu...blindfolded. Clearly, business is booming so hard they can audition customers now--must be nice! As a prehistoric patron from the early Chabelitas era (back when dinosaurs probably ordered the specials), I bet if I'd waltzed in person, they'd have rolled out the red carpet instead of the red-hot attitude. Next time, I'll just show up with a mariachi band to announce my tamale conquest. Lesson learned: Phone orders are not for the faint of heart, or maybe Chabelitas just has the wrong Chabala at the phone. Chabelitas, kick that nasty attitude to the curb.
