Went for a second time and we stayed away from their aweful wings (from our 1st trip). This time we…read moreordered strictly dry tenders and they were good. They are really like mass produced tenders you buy in bulk at Costco, but they deep fry them on site and then toss them in the spices and flavors that you order. It's nothing compared to Dave's hot chicken, but it's cheap and hits the spot. This time we got the hot honey, lemon pepper and garlic parmesean flavor wings and fries. My fave was the hot honey, followed by garlic parm and then lemon pepper. All were good and tastes exactly how you'd imagine it would. No surprises, really. The fries, despite us dining in and consuming them right away - were barely warm, but somehow it preserved it's crisp. I wish they were warmer/hot...it would be sooo good. We probably got a stale batch. Note that their website offers more ordering options for the tenders. The combo I wanted was not listed in the store, but when I showed the guy what I wanted, he had no problems helping me with the combo I wanted at the listed price. This place has no trashcan outside so when you leave, you have to toss things over the into the trashcan inside the kitchen area on your way out. Pricing is reasonable and the front desk guy was friendly. I'd stay away from the wet flavors as it makes the food soggy, but that could just be personal preference. This place has to stay on their A-game as Dave's hot chicken and Canes Chicken is literally outside of this place.

Hanging out in Boston on business and it's #WingWednesday! So I did some research which lead me to…read morethe Shine Square Pub in Cambridge, MA which is a little east-northeast of Boston. Here's how it went! Atmosphere/Appearance: It's a bit of a dive bar and there's nothing wrong with that at all. There's lots of seemingly random swag that covered the dark wooden/brick walls of the open floorplan style restaurant. There are lots of TVs and this place just gives off nice sports bar vibes! Service: Ron the bartender/owner himself was taking care of the entire restaurant so he was killing it! He still was quick, efficient, did things with a smile and still made time to chat! Food: I'm here for the wings and I was able to try out 4 flavors! There are 14 sauces to choose from, but I only had enough room for 4. Lol. First up were the Cinnamon Chipotle Dry Rub. They were a decent size, super juicy, crispy, cooked perfectly. The seasoning was a bit on the salty side and I didn't get a whole lot of cinnamon, but it was there to cut the sauce and give it a extra layer of flavor. Next up was the Honey Honey which had great sauce coverage. They gave me a bit of a grilled/caramelized feel. These had a good kick to them and the honey was blended in nicely. Next up were the Roasted Garlic & Aji! These had a more traditional flavor profile that reminded me of your favorite straight-up roasted chicken. Very class and very good. Lastly, was the hottest sauce on the menu, Chernobyl. These were a BRIGHT RED like a poison dart frog warning you not to eat it. Lol. It didn't smell too intimidating, but Ron did say it was a ghost pepper based wing. Upon tasting them, there was an immediate sensation of heat. Good, pepper-rich sweetness up front. These were very good, but not as spicy as I had predicted, which is totally okay! Value: You get 6 wings for $11.00. A little on the pricey side, but it's Boston, sort-of downtown, but it's okay! It's not bad at all and the food was totally worth it. I loved this place and I'm so happy I finally found a good wing spot here in the Cambridge area. I'll surely try some more flavors and other things from their menu!

Fish cakes were small and perfectly uniform - almost like they were frozen rather than prepared on site. Green curry had some spice but was mostly one note, there just wasn't much depth of flavor. Vegetables were all cut in huge hunks - both dishes had giant pieces of red bell peppers and onions. Fried rice was pretty bland and barely had any Chinese broccoli in it. Ambiance was bare bones - you order at the counter and they bring you your food and plastic side plates. Half the tables were stacked with boxes and bags of takeout orders. To top it off there's no bathroom, we were told to use the bathroom at another local business. If I'm gonna spend $60 somewhere, I expect to be able to wash my hands before eating and use the restroom. Perhaps there are some specialty dishes that we didn't try but this was my 2nd time ordering from here (I got take out once before) and both times the food was pretty bland. A truly underwhelming experience - especially when there are so many better restaurants in the area.
