Had supper on Saturday night. Made reservations for 6:45, was seated quickly. Excellent service by the wait staff. I ordered the large prime rib and my girlfriend ordered the lasagna. The prime rib was a knock out. Cooked to perfection and resembled the ole 96'er in size. The horseradish and au jus combo with it made it one of the best prime ribs I've ate. I'm in the minority here, and I know that. I'm mostly in it for the carbs at Guzzardos. Anytime I've gotten the bigger meals of pasta I never think it has much flavor, but the helpings are very large. Having said that, the twice baked potato's are amazing, the salads are great, the cheesy garlic bread is good, the pizzas I've had have also been good. I definitely order off the "sides" menu and leave full and happy. The staff is always great. read more

The wait was very, very long, yet everyone was very very nice, and the food was good. I had the veal Parmesan, and it was very different - a very thick slice of meat, traditional breading which was crisp and tasty, and there were raw onions and peppers on top, covered in a couple of slices of provolone. It was good, but not what I was expecting. My dad had the lasagna, and he loved it. It's nice to be in what feels like a family run restaurant, and to be treated like a friend of the family being welcomed back, even though I had Never been there before. We will go back. read more

The authentic Italian pasta is outstanding and the service is excellent. We've tried the pizza in the past with not as much luck.

The food was tasty and slightly above average, but it was fairly expensive for a relatively basic Italian dish. The restaurant is also fairly hard to find as it does not sit on the street of its address. You have to go between a couple of buildings and then down a kind of alley way. Signs pointing you where to go would be helpful. read more

Ordered a pizza tonight from Guzzardo's along with a few other menu items for delivery. The pizza showed up but none of the other dishes came with the delivery. Server (Wendy) was very accommodating and she split our salad and soup because we shared a meal. The pork ribeye was to die for. Also ordered the French Onion soup as one of our sides. Both meals were delicious and plentiful. You will ask for a box to take home part of your dinner because you can't eat it all! I have to say this may have been the best prime rib I've ever had. And another nice thing is that you can bring in your own wine!!! A great selection on the menu with excellent service. No beer or wine on the menu- BYOB is available from the micro-brewery next door. Portions are huge and ingredients fresh- consider sharing an entree if you can. A note for any adults desiring a romantic or peaceful evening out. To start off, the whole vibe was off. My server was amazing, but I could tell that she had a pet dog at home, and I'm allergic to dogs. I also had a flu at the time, which may have been for the best because the lasagna that I ordered tasted like a sun dried ovary, and I was spared the majority of the taste. If you're looking for consistent, authentic, old school, classic Italian American pizza, with no frills and fuss, this is the spot. My wife and mother-in-law (an OG who's been coming here since 1967) ordered the Nick's Special. And get this... Nick, the man himself, of whom this combo is named, took our order. This restaurant is 3rd generation, family-owned and operated, and the entire staff is polite and personable. I'm not a meat eater, but the toppings on my better halves pie were obviously sourced from quality ingredients, and I heard no complaints; only chomps. I ordered a mushroom, black olive, onion and green pepper personal pie, and the kitchen sent me a medium. Stoked! The veggies were properly sized, crisp, fresh and plentiful. The chefs don't skimp; they pile it on. Very, very generous. To top it off, we dined al fresco in a sweet and spacious open-air courtyard, shared by a hip looking craft beer/wine bar and an artisan ice cream shop. Food is just not that great. Guzzardos gets a good local crowd but not sure why. The good: Service was great. Salad bar is respectable although the French onion soup was only warm vs hot. They don't have a liquor license but you can carryout from the bar next door and bring it in. I went with 4 friends. 2 ordered the lasagna, one fettuccini alfredo, one chicken breast something. And I had eggplant parmesan. All these came with salad bar. All except the fetuccini came smothered in the same dark, thick, sweet tomato sauce and cheese. We just enjoyed a wonderful meal at this restaurant. As everyone has noted, the restaurant is difficult to find. Let me give you a hint that no one else has mentioned. The entrance is located in the courtyard but the courtyard is not on a street. The courtyard is located in the middle of the block between Pulaski and Clinton Streets. I ordered the Villa pasta with mushrooms. It was absolutely incredible. The sauce is unique and incredibly tasty. The portion was huge. It was one of the rare times in my life when I was not able to eat all of my serving. Many people have commented on the salad bar. I have read that it was amazing, huge, etc. I will simply say that it was average to slightly above average. The restrooms are small but they were very clean. The real story of the evening was the service. It was friendly, helpful and as good as I've ever had. Not only did our server check back with us try three times but three or four other servers asked if we needed anything as they passed by. I honestly don't believe that they could reproduce the level of service that we had tonight. It was great. read more

Wife loves the chicken parm which I agree is very good. . The dishes, glasses and decorations are something of a vintage garage sale which is weird because the prices are definitely not exactly cheap. Love this place from the salad bar and homemade French onion soup to the extra large Prime rib. Staff is friendly and very helpful... If you drink you can bring your own wine or even carry in a large cooler full of beer! Only downside the place is a little out of date carpet needs replaced and walls need cleaner paint. A pretty unique little italian joint. They took a location that doesn't seem like it would work out well for a restaurant and turned it into something that you won't see many places, if at all. The atmosphere in the place was lively and friendly. The items on the salad bar were a bit warm, they could stand much more refrigeration. I didn't like the idea of eating bread that other people have grabbed with their questionably washed and cut. The pizza was quite thick, and maybe overly-cheesy, but I was filled up after one piece, along with the salad bar. If you want to booze it up, better bring your own stuff, they do not sell liquor on the premises; you may bring your own in, though. I am not sure what the rules are for this... so don't blame me if they call the cops when you bring your bathtub moonshine in. Worth a trip in to see how you like it. read more
