On our drive home from my daughter's wedding in PCB, I stumbled on Gypsy's on Google Maps. The reviews looked great and so did the photos of the food. It's definitely a hidden gem! Hands down one of the best Philly Cheesesteaks sandwiches around. And the jumbo fried shrimp was ridiculously delicious. I loved the shrimp because they were not heavily breaded nor overly salty. If you love hand cut fries, these are delicious. But if you like them crispy, be sure to ask for extra crispy. Everything came out piping hot. This is a must stop if you are traveling on Hwy 231 in Fountain. When you stop in, ask for the owner, Deborah and have her share her story. Love how she gives back to her community. Disappointing experience for our party of 10. The Philly cheesesteaks were inconsistent--one overloaded, others skimpy and bland. Catfish underwhelming and flavorless. Shrimp po'boys only six shrimp each and had undercooked shrimp in two, basic hoagie with no sauce. "Gypsy's fries" tasted like seasoned frozen fries, just no flavor. Chicken sandwich order became a basket--fixed with a roll, the chicken was decent though. The Cuban was alright. Charged $1 per ice water and 0.69$ for each tarter and cocktail sauce. Waitress was excellent. Eat elsewhere. read more

My husband and I just bought land close by and he found this incredible cafe that serves amazing food at incredible prices!! We both love the BLT that's loaded with bacon. The fried chicken sandwich is huge and fries are crispy and seasoned to perfection! From the hand painted by school kids light fixtures to the curtains and table covers, you know that everything here is a labor of love. Littrell( sp) was our server today and she told us Gypsy's is her sisters dream come true and it shows in the decor, food and staff. We will be eating here often!! read more

Me and hubby went to eat but didn't stay, not too fond of the change to the menu. Pizza looked great but no fries to go with the burgers and poboys, no wheat bread or low carb wraps. Such a cozy little cafe with the kindest ladies you could meet working there every time you come. The burgers are enchanted, leaving you wanting more until your next chance to come in. I cannot wait to try the build your own sandwiches, the chick-chick salad sandwich, shrimp po boy, and shrimp salad. On the list of other sandwiches I want to try as well are the beef brisket reuben and philly cheesesteak. We love the burgers so much, though, we keep ordering them! My son loves chef salads, but they are hard to find on menus, but Gypsies has it listed so we are both very happy that we have a restaurant so close to us in Fountain, Florida and cannot wait to go back to try more delicious food! The owner made my son and I milkshakes that literally melt in your mouth and did not hold back on the toppings. There is an amazing assortment of flavors to try like brownie, red velvet, strawberry shortcake, peach cobbler and many more. I love supporting hardworking small businesses and this place is unique in the way that the owner cares, and it shows! It's such a cute place to have a delicious breakfast! Everything was fresh and homemade. They don't skimp on servings either! The people were so friendly as well! This was my third visit, and it was terrible all around. I have ordered the Philly Cheesesteak on each occasion. I don't know if they switched cooks or what, but the sandwich was just nasty. Tasteless mushy meat, some cheddar cheese sauce, and soggy bread. No onions or green peppers. And they never have any sort of jalapeño or hot peppers! Dropped off the drinks with no straws, no napkins on the table (we stole some from another table). No salt in the shaker either. When the server brought our food, she knocked over a whole glass of tea into my sisters food basket and completely soaked her burger. She thought she would bring her a new bun, but we let her know the whole sandwich was wet! She brings back a burger on a bun with nothing else added. And she stood at the front of the restaurant, 10 feet away from us, while we wiped up tea and ice with napkins. I'm not sure what's happened to this place, but if you're going to charge $49 for lunch with the service and food I experienced, you won't be in business much longer! It's doubtful we'll be back. read more
