This is a historic OKC/Warr Acres mainstay and a very classy hole in the wall gyro atop with awesome posters of Einstein, Marilyn Monroe, Sinatra, Clint Eastwood, Elvis, The Beatles and good old movies on the wall. Service very fast and accommodating and they have awesome gyro wraps and plates available, along with soda pop, chips, baklava, Greek salad and more. Highly recommended!

This is my go to place for gyros and great fries! They are consistent in their flavor of food. Great prices for how much food you get. Can't recommend them enough!

I love gyros and Gyro City Cafe still has the best gyros in Oklahoma. The restaurant is located right off Northwest Expressway. The inside of the restaurant is very rundown, but the food is fresh and tasty. I ordered two gyros to go and just out of curiosity, I weighed them at home each weighed a little over 1 pound. Now that's a huge sandwich and well worth the money. Friendly fast service.

I was looking for something light but with flavor and this place sounded perfect. My Philly Gyro was so so good! Their pita bread is so soft and warm, gyro meat was tender and flavor packed, not too many veggies that it over powers the meat(although I wouldn't have minded them to be more sautéed), and then the taziki sauce...the perfect addition. It was just the freshness the sandwich needed. I will admit that it was a little rough inside but to me in this case, meant that they knew what they are doing and my tastebuds agreed.

I don't know why, but I just don't find myself along this stretch of Northwest Expressway often, especially around meal time. That's a shame because Gyro City Cafe has some of the best gyros in OKC. The posters on the wall are probably as old as my now adult children. There's something faded about this place that just tells you the food is good. Well, that and the crowd of people. It's a husband and wife who run the place - he on the spit and she at the register. Despite the crowd, my to-go order was ready in no time. It's not far to home, and I'm glad I was alone when I unwrapped my gyro and exclaimed, "Oh my god!" This was the largest gyro I've ever seen. I had to eat half of it with a fork just to be able to kind of fold it. The meat has a good flavor with a few crunchy edges. I'll be honest, I like beating the rush so you get more of the crispy edges that have been cooking for a while. Once again, it's a testament to them and their food to have a Monday night crowd. There are more than a few places nearby to get a good gyro, but this place is near the top of the list.

Classic gyro, no flash -- hefty, fresh, tasty, 4.5/5

Wow! Now that is a gyro! Overflowing with meat, fresh tasting, classically simple and delicious. It has nearly twice as much meat as some of their competitors! And for around $6, it's easily one of the best deals around. Gyro meat perfectly seasoned and made in house, freshly carved from one of a pair of vertical rotisseries. Pita nice and soft. Just enough vegetables for my liking. And mark me up as enjoying their tzatziki, not too strong or sour. Skip the grumpy attitudes and mediocre food at nearby Let's Do Greek. This is where it's at. I only wish I'd discovered them sooner when I lived nearer by. Gyro City gets so much well deserved word of mouth, how are they not expanding around the metro by now??

I ordered the Cuban panini with a side of Parmesan-encrusted button mushrooms. It's so hard to find anything close to Cuban bread, but this wasn't bad, and the panini was toasted nicely. There's only one problem: This isn't a Cuban sandwich. It's ham and turkey with pickles. I'll point the finger at myself for not looking at the menu closer. A Cuban HAS to be roast pork and ham, and the meat shouldn't be cold. I know this isn't Miami, but stop trying to pass this off as something it's not. As for the Parmesan-encrusted mushrooms, you might expect some bit of crust or breading with Parmesan. Nope. These were sautéed mushrooms with a glop of Parmesan (not entirely sure it wasn't Swiss) in the middle. If you wanted both, you had to get a mushroom, then bite off a bit of the no longer melted cheese. I'm not going to tell anyone not to come here. As ham and turkey paninis go, it was OK. But I can't help but think if they're trying to pass things off as something they're not, what else might not be as it seems?

They also wouldn't heat up the savory bun, which was disappointing. It would've been much better warm, but the cashier said no and clearly didn't care. Service was speedy, but our cashier was unfriendly. The coffee was overpriced and too sweet, and it needed stirring--but you can't stir it with the boba lid. On top of that, we had to order coffee separately and pay twice, which felt inconvenient. Even after ordering at the kiosk, our hot coffee somehow came out iced... oops. (Yes, it clearly says iced on the receipt - so obviously we missed something.) We also had to clean our own table, even though it wasn't busy. There seems to be a lot of variety at first glance, but if you look closely, it's mostly the same bread--lots of red bean. On the plus side, there's lots of natural light and plenty of seating (at least when it's not busy). Overall, a bit disappointed. The prices lured us in, but this won't be a routine stop for us. It doesn't hold a candle to Tous Les Jours.

You can really tell everything is baked fresh that morning. The textures are spot on--soft, airy, and just the right amount of sweetness. Their drink menu is near-perfection. Both the Milk Tea and Thai Tea taste incredibly authentic, which is hard to find around here. They aren't just sugar-bombs; you can actually taste the quality of the tea. The only reason I'm not giving a full 5 stars is a safety concern for those with allergies. Unlike Tous Les Jours, which clearly lists ingredients/allergens by each pastry, 85°C is a bit more vague at the display. As someone who has to be careful about what's in my food, I'd love to see them adopt a more transparent labeling system so I don't have to guess or ask for every item. The Verdict: Delicious, fresh, and a must-visit for your pastry fix. Just be cautious if you have specific dietary restrictions!

I've even "cruised" past ordering spuds or cookies in the past because I didn't always think the value was there. With this newer location, though, I may need to rethink that. On this visit I grabbed a to-go order of two spuds and two cookies. My wife wanted the Turkey Spud and I tried the Baja Spud with chicken. The first thing I noticed right away--the potatoes were huge! Honestly, some of the most impressive sized spuds I've had from City Bites in quite some time. My wife's Turkey Spud was loaded, easy to see the generous amount of turkey piled on top. She was happy, which means I was happy. My Baja Spud, on the other hand, looked good but didn't quite deliver the same way. It felt light on the chicken and a little heavy on the sour cream. The flavor was fine, but the balance of ingredients wasn't what I expected, especially compared to how well-topped my wife's potato was. Thankfully, the spud itself was large enough that I could share with her and still be satisfied. Now, the cookies. I've been vocal in the past about how City Bites cookies have gotten smaller with less icing, which was disappointing since their Pumpkin Cookie has always been a personal favorite. This time I was pleasantly surprised--the Pumpkin Spice and Snickerdoodle were closer to the classic City Bites cookies I used to love. Bigger, better, and more in line with what they should be. A perfect sweet ending to our meal. Overall, I left impressed with the portion sizes and especially happy with the cookies. The Baja Spud could use more chicken, but between the generous potatoes and the nostalgic return of the cookies, this location gives me hope that City Bites is stepping things back up.
