Strange positioning at the side of a strip mall, next to a pizza parlor. Inside is rather small with lopsided booths and small tables, mostly for small groups. Busy vintage sports posters, memorabilia, and ads adorn the walls. Glass windows were dirty, greasy streaks over the table and bench seats, corners had crumbs, and the trash was overflowing. Not great first impression. Girl at the counter was amiable enough. Seems like there's only one other person in the back kitchen making all the food. Hubs got the Italian Beef meal with the fries and both were good. I got the Chicago Dog, which was okay. The hotdog by itself was good, but too much accoutrements (pickle, relish, peppers, etc) in it deterred from the taste. I should just ask for them to cut that in half. My goodness this place is Oklahoma's best kept secret. The taste of the food was sooo fresh and delicious. The food is prepared fresh so you have to be patient but it is so worth the wait, trust me. This was the worst burger I have had in years. I'll explain.. it was $14 for what was quite obviously a frozen patty burger on a plain, store bought bun. It was so bad and so overpriced that I thought about contacting the authorities. Seriously, if my experience was indicative of what is normal, don't ever go here. Quite possibly the worst burger I've ever eaten in the last couple decades, but the Chicago Dog is pretty good and what you would expect (except maybe the price). My husband, son and I went to Cal's yesterday at 12:27. My son ordered a cheeseburger and fries, my husband and I got the Italian beef (which he later added sausage to) with a side of onion rings. My son and I had a soft drink and my husband had water. The bread on our sandwiches was hard and chewy like it had been microwaved and it became inedible towards the end of our sandwiches. We couldn't even eat it all and threw the remainder away. He ordered his sweet and I got mine hot. We left and drove 2.5 miles to where we live and I immediately vomited. This was followed by diarrhea, nausea and severe stomach cramping. My husband didn't get sick immediately but it hit him within a few hours. Same issues. This isn't right. We paid $53.65 for a meal that made us ill. read more

We love this place. It's so good and they make everything to order. The Philly is delicious. With the steak, melty cheese, and those rolls! Love it. And for some reason, every single time I go here, I feel like I have to order a Chicago dog. I don't know what it is, maybe it's the fact that you can't get these hotdogs just anywhere, idk, but I always order one. Super delish! One of the other popular things here seems to be the pickle fries. I haven't tried them yet, but I'll probably do that on my next visit. Oh, and they have the good Ranch here. Great variety in menu. The party had everything from a spicy dog, a Philly sandwich, a gyro, and one other. No complaints from anyone. Plus the fries were good. Loved the poppy seeds bun on the hotdog. Prices were fair and at a price that you can take the whole family out for a meal without breaking the bank. The food is outstanding. The service is fantastic! We live in the neighborhood and have only eaten here a few times, and we love it!

Talk about a hidden gem in OKC! With a large menu, you could come here multiple times in a week and try something new. Which is what we did! And I must say, everything is always delicious! This place is AMAZING!! I have to start with the food, it's just that great: my partner and I ordered the chicken Philly, polish sausage, and Italian sausage. All were fresh, the perfect combo of flavors, and delicious. Because the food is so fresh there's a bit of a wait - greatness takes time! They have so many options that we could come back many times and still be excited to try something new. The restaurant feels like a family owned, classic joint. Had a huge craving for a warm sandwich that wasn't your typical sandwich place and decided to give Cals a try. The restaurant is in a shopping center with plenty of parking. The place is a little small so I wouldn't bank on bringing 10+ people and expect to sit together as seating is mostly booths. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak meal while my husband ordered the Italian beef sausage. My Philly was okay. It lacked flavor - especially the meat. It was super greasy but that was expected. I did however enjoy his Italian beef sausage and would definitely order that next time if we ever came back. The Italian spice taste and the meat of his Italian beef sausage was delicious and definitely surpassed what I expected. Let me start by saying these people are so kind and uplifting. I ordered the Italian beef dipped with hot peppers, my husband ordered the Chicago dog and onion rings, our son had a chili cheese dog and fries. I didn't get the meal deal but Lee gave me a drink in the house and my food came with a few fries and pickle fries just because he said. The food was incredible. It's a small place but clean and had a ton of Chicago themed items. We really felt like we were back in Chicago. A homeless man walked in and sat down. Lee said come here, I make you food. He brought it out nicely packaged in a to go container. My heart melted. That was so kind! Cal is Lee's dad and he is carrying on his father legacy with amazing food and giving heart.
