This is small hole in the wall gyro place with a limited number of seats and decent enough food. I had the a classic gyro which was alright (I am a gyro snob I will admit it). Moreover the gyro came with a large portion of fries that were very nice. But what was striking about the Gyro Hut was that it was densely peopled. Maybe this is because we came in late at night, but the desire for seating and overpopulation made me feel very rushed to eat quickly and then go about my evening. And I never enjoy a meal when I feel like the establishment wants me to leave. A friend of mine lives rather close to this hole-in-the-wall, and I can't tell you how many times I've been in the area, have seen this place and said, "meh". Well I had the pleasure of coming here not too long ago, after a lot of convincing, and I am glad I went. Like I said, hole-in-the-wall, not the biggest place, and wouldn't be my first choice, but much to my surprise the food was good. The lamb gyro, delicious. I think my experience would've been better if I hadn't ordered to go, because my greek fries were soggy and seemed maybe a little under cooked. Still good though! If you need a quick bite, this is a place to go...they are super fast. Beware, the seating is SUPER limited so you might be enjoying your meal in your car! OH, and if you live nearby, they deliver. This is my favorite place to get gyros and other Mediterranean food. It takes a while but it's quality food. I usually just get the lamb gyro value meal and replace the regular fries with Greek fries, and it fills me up all the time. They also deliver which is great and since it's tucked away in a little corner it's not always overpopulated like the gyro places at the malls. The Gyros here are also a little larger than most of the places at the mall. The menu is very hefty but not too big to be overwhelmed anything here will not do you wrong. They made our order quickly, which then sat due to slooooowww Amazon delivery service. An employee called me to let me know it had been made, but unfortunately had been sitting long last Amazon's promised pick-up date, and therefore wasn't going to be as good as it could be. Went in yesterday for the second time. The guy gave me an extra baklava, just because - win! These guys pile on the food. I feel like other places charge you the same or more, and skimp on the product. Not these guys... I asked for extra meat, I got it. I had the fries last time. The falafel was fantastic, as several of the reviews have already mentioned... Flavorful with a good kick. What doesn't seem to get mentioned and really deserves more attention is the combination plate... The three meats each are cooked to melt in your mouth, with their own unique textures... Ordered delivery twice and was impressed by the taste and portions both times. Not sure if something can be done about how food is packaged. The first time, everything was dropped in a big brown paper bag, which caused dishes to leak on one another, sauce to spill out the side, etc. The next time, it was clear that the meal was carefully placed (on the passenger's seat?) upright, ensuing the meals arrived in great condition. Sampler app was great. Chicken kebab and shwarma were good enough to get again. Not too generous with lamb meat, but it at least tasted like high-quality meat. I have heard of this place and had to check it out for myself. I am so glad I did. Just like everyone else has said in many other reviews, they pack a ton of meat on those pitas! We got ours to go and when we unpacked the bag, I thought it was going to be a big old mess all over the place. To my surprise everything was neat and mess free. I discovered they held the gyros together with a toothpick and roll it up in the paper super tight. I usually go to Alladin in the U-District for gyros but Gyro Hut kicks their butt in a couple ways. First of all, they take a card. Meat portion is probably more than double at Gyro Hut, and you can park in the parking lot. Granted Alladin has its advantages, like authenticity. They also have completely different tasting meats. The sauce at Gyro Hut was of a smaller quantity than other gyro restaurants. It actually worked out to make less of a mess. The special house dressing that they advertise tastes exactly like the tzatziki sauce with cucumbers that I bought from Costco. This is not a bad thing because that sauce is delicious. Since I never carry cash anymore, the Gyro Hut will be my new go to gyro spot when I am on the north side of the city. read more

Generous portions for the price and good value overal. The food does taste good but it wasn't fresh (you know, like those places where they slice it off the upside-down rotating grill). I ordered a lamb gyros which was huge but the best part was the way they wrap it which made it easier to eat and less messy. With that I also had a drink and fries which was part of the "meal" price. The fries were actually good just by themselves but I was intrigued by the garlic mayo fries so I ordered those. Sadly, I was expecting a garlic mayo on top of fries, instead I got fries with mayo with garlic salt on top. Everything else would have been nice except for that fact. Overall, ditch the mayo+garlic, make some real garlic mayo (it can't be that hard) and I would have given it 4-4.5 stars. Good value though! read more

I'm kind of a pig when it comes to gyro meat. It's sooo good... that I'm usually still a bit hungry after eating your "standard" gyro. Enter the Gyro Hut's JUMBO GYRO! I'm not sure if it actually has extra meat, but it comes with feta and either hummus or baba ghanoush (I got it with hummus). It was delicious, and filled me up. It got a bit drippy and messy, but that's kind of hard to avoid. The interior of this restaurant is small and feels a bit cramped. We sat outside because it was warm, so I didn't feel quite as rushed. It's a good option for lunch. read more

So this place seriously won me over with their falafel. I'm really picky about my falafel, and I've rarely found it done right in this city. Gyro hut is spot on for a falafel that doesn't mess around with spice and flavor (it's not that hot) which hits all the taste buds just right with a strong combination of cumin and black pepper. The exterior of the balls are crispy, with a satisfying crunch and the interior is robust, with nutty bits of chickpea that is neither too dry, nor mushy. The only thing I could fault in an otherwise flawless sandwich was the use of tadziki instead of tahini as a dressing. An easy fix, but I'm not sure if they offer it. My gyro was simply okay. I had this place delivered through uberEats, because I was too lazy to walk to my usual Gyro place. Next time I'll make the trek. The Greek fries were soggy by the time they got to me (not their fault, I think) so I can't tell you how those are. The gyro was pretty bland, and it made me a little uncomfortable that the chicken was in large thin slices rather than in cut up pieces like it usually is. There were no spices other than tzatziki sauce, and I think I could've made a better gyro at home. The pita was absolutely delicious though! Gyro Hut is the newest addition to the Northgate vortex of restaurants, located at the Northgate Village Plaza (next to Taco Del Mar and TJ Maxx). We've been awaiting its grand opening and stopped by today. The restaurant is small, with a few tables and photograph-based menu. The space is still being set up, and the owner was jovial and pleasant (and thanked us for coming). Price-wise you can't go wrong - falafel sandwich for $4.99 (the falafel snob husband says it's great, though would be better with a side of hummus added), hummus appetizer for $3.99 (good and creamy), $5.99 gyros, and plenty of sides/plates such as chicken shwarma. Tabbouleh, horatiki, baba ganoush and many other traditional mediterranean sides are available as well. Seems like a good start to a much-needed business in the Northgate area (sure, you can drive to Greenwood to get a billion options for this kind of food, but if you live in the Northgate area this is much closer!) This was the one of the few restaurant that opened on Easter evening! I've been living in Northgate for almost 10 months, but just found this place! The location is not that great. It's hidden behind other stores. The lamb gyro was great. A lot of meat and the bread (I don't know what it's called) is soft and warm. The staff was friendly. I already knew this was a good place after it's high reviews, but I am going to be convinced till I try it myself. I order the Beef Gyro, French Fries and Drink Combo. It was $6 or $7, not bad. Opened it up and wow! It had lots of meat carvings. The fries was very tasty too. They must have put special salt or something. The service was fine. Close to home, cheap and dang good - Gyro Hut is a welcome change for the usual burger or fast food fix! I usually have the chicken solvoki (their spelling, not mine) and it's seasoned just right, chock full of meat and delicious. A $2 side of fries is plenty for two or even three people and, while they're nothing super exciting, they still taste great with a gyro or sandwich. I don't like crinkle cut fries. I don't like shoestring fries. I don't like them soggy. I like them crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. These guys make good fries. I like their regular fries and their Greek fries -- I'm dying to try the garlic mayo fries. My husband likes the jumbo gyro with extra hummus. Good new gyros place in one of the really depressing strip malls just east of Northgate. The gyro sandwiches are stuffed and tasty, the fries are usually hot and crispy (and served in a brown paper bag), the falafels are pretty good (I assume, since my girlfriend keeps ordering them), and they have a wide variety of Middle-Eastern side dishes that I never bother to try. They have a few small tables there, but we usually just carry out (since we live like two blocks away and can drink wine if we eat home). read more

Their gyros is the best I have ever had this side of town.. well any side of this town.. the lamb gyros are the best, not to mention the tasty falafels.. It is pretty reasonable too- 2 gyros+ falafel appetizer + nice tip is under $20. The owner is also really nice and apologized to us once we had to wait around 20 mins to pick up the order.
