An authentic Lebanese food place. This place is consistent and is very close to Arabic food as it gets in US. You have various options like shawarma, kebabs, falafel, pizzas, salads, and small desserts. They also have a good menu for flatbreads aka mana'eesh. There's just one thing - they prefer cash and at one point only dealt in cash. Anyhow, I tried the lamb shawarma in the restaurant and some take out. The food is excellent. The restaurant has 3 booths seating, a bunch of tables. And parking is located next to their grocery store right below the restaurant. A bit tricky to locate at first. Probably the restaurant I visit the most frequently (about 1x/week, depending on my travel schedule). I'm still partial to their Chicken Schwarma sandwich, as well as the Chicken Schwarma plate. Wonderful fare. If you run low on hummus, you can stop by the Goodies store downstairs to pick up a small tub (along with other goodies (pun intended)). Recently we ordered their Flayfleh and Cheese flat bread. It's got some nice spice. On our last visit, they also told us about their Jibne, which is just plain cheese. But, although it's not on the menu, they can supplement it with a layer of honey. OMG! So good! CASH only! Always has been, probably always will be. You can call your order in in advance even if you're eating there. I prefer that, since there's no wait. They're also great at to-go orders. read more

THE BEST CHICKEN SHAWARMA I HAVE EVER HAD!!! One important thing to note, this place is cash only! They do have an ATM but if you do not have cash, you can also order online. If you do have cash, there is a small discount! I ordered one chicken shawarma plate and one veggie shawarma plate, along with the zaatar bread. The plates both came with rice and bread on the side. My partner order the veggie plate and I had the chicken plate. Everything was soooooo delicious and I could not believe how tasty the chicken shawarma was. Perfectly seasoned and tender, I was very impressed. The portions were quite large and I was struggling to eat even half of the plate so it is easily shareable or you are in for a great 2nd meal! The restaurant is a bit hard to get to but they do have a small parking lot near the grocery store that is run by the same family! Also a great stop and where I got drinks to go with my meal. I come here twice a week and bring everyone I know. Today I tried the lentil soup which was freshly made. It was glistening with color and you could see the fresh chopped carrots and ingredients floating to the top of the soup. It had a nice balance of spices and mild hints of cumin. Unlike, American style soups that may feel like a gut bomb of cheddar and potato, or gnocchi minestrone that's reminiscent of Pot Belly or Safeway canned soup, this lentil soup is made with love and care. The ingredients were not sitting at the base of the cup or drowning in cream. You could taste the good olive oil, parsley and the fresh squeeze of lemon cut through any of the fat for a refreshing flavor profile. The soup paired so well with the chicken adana and salad on a cold rainy November day and I love making mini style wraps with the fresh pita and various ingredients in front of me. I am biased because I love the food and see the staff and family putting over 100% of love in making each dish. It is a huge departure from any of the "house" made lentil soups I've tried in town because it is fresh. Some of the many lentil soups I've tried have a previously frozen and reheated aftertaste or you can taste the added water which messes with the salt content. I hope this soup review can bring in more business. If you're like me, you will want another bowl. Compliments to the chef! read more

After years of trying to make it here, we finally did. The food was great. I really do recommend trying out the different types of man'oushe. We opted for three different versions, one of them was the spinach. Fantastic! It is a little expensive but the stuffed breads are a good size and very fresh. One star off for being cash only. Also, do not miss out on the market. The market is fantastic. Great bread choice and the turkish delight was fabulous. I'm a huge turkish delight fan and particularly love the fancy kinds that come topped with rose petals, pistachios or other things. They have all kinds here. The only other negative I would say is that the parking situation is a bit hairy. They have their own dedicated parking, but trying to find and get in there is really tight. There really is only room for one car to come in and out at a time. Just be careful. read more

Man'ouche Express is a gem of a place on LCW. Situated in the same building as Goodies Mediterranean Market, they share a parking lot (a plus!). While I originally came for the chicken shawarma, I keep coming back for the flat breads (or Man'eesh). The Zatar is a good place to start, and the sujuk with meat was nice and savory as well. It was cash only before Covid, and it remains so today, which is sort of neat. There's an ATM inside too if you forgot to bring cash. You order at the counter, and service is friendly and quick. So several factors here, We waited for 45min for two items that really should have been done in 15 I love love love manaeesh, reminds me of home and all the yumminess that entails BUT it looked like they had one small oven that did most of the baking for them which means when an order for 10 comes in and there are another 2 ppl ahead of you... For me it's like this, tell your customers before they place their order that you are backed up and it's an insert amount of time wait. last week i was trying to find a halal butcher. after trying two different spots that google maps said were open (turned out one was closed for renovation & the other was completely just... obliterated), i found goodies market. while walking down the hill there, i walked past this place. i was starving, so i said "after i shop, i will get lunch from here." i didn't realize it but this place is primarily cash. they take doordash and uber eats orders tho so if you don't have cash you can just order pickup thru the app. you can even eat it there if you want. the inside is decorated cutely with pictures and articles about beirut & lebanon in general. it's also very neat! the owner kai was super nice. i was telling him my escapades trying to find halal meat in seattle... he agreed that it's rough out here. after that, he got to work on my food. i got the veggie plate. goodness gracious it was so delicious. i had one last-minute errand after i received my food so it was kinda cold by the time i got to it, but it was still so delicious. i immediately went for the warak 3nab and even cold they were mouth-watering. i ate about half of the plate and saved the rest for my lunch. so worth it. next time i will actually try the man'oushe! if you're in lake city, check this place out. read more

We went to Goodies Mediterranean Market to buy some rose water. We soon found our way upstairs in their restaurant, Man'oushe Express... what a wonderful surprise!!! I have been searching for a good Mediterranean or Persian restaurant, and I guess I finally found it! We ordered the two-kebab plate, one lamb kebab, one beef kebab, rice, salad, hummus, and fresh bread. Now, I'll eat lamb, I'm not crazy about it, but I'll eat it. In fact, most of the time it's only beef for me. Now I'll tell you, when I go back to Man'oushe Express, and I will be back, I am ordering the lamb kebab!!! The chef is a genius!!! Hands down, the best lamb that I have ever eaten in my life!!! I've had lamb at high-end restaurants that wasn't as tasty or tender!!! The beef kebab was pretty tasty, but the lamb kebab blew me away!!! The rice was perfect, the hummus was creamy and delicious, and the salad was fresh and yummy. If you like great food at a great price, I highly recommend checking this place out. They're a little hard to find once you arrive but take the alley/ramp down into the parking lot and you can park for free. BRING CASH, as they are an only cash business. They are attached to a middle eastern grocery store which I recommend you also check out for some awesome goodies. Being Lebanese, I've tried many manoushes and I can say this one is phenomenal!! Man'oushe is a small, but nicely appointed Middle Eastern restaurant situated in a somewhat obscure location on the west side of Lake City Way. The menu offers typical Middle Eastern fare: Beef, Lamb and Chicken options served as Shwarma or Gyros, in sandwich or plate form. They also offer flatbreads which I didn't sample but looked and smelled very good. Their pita was quite good toasted in the large gas-fired pizza oven. I opted for the gyros plate. The thin sliced beef and lamb was well seasoned with plenty of garlic, salt and oregano, served on a mound of nearly perfect yellow rice, topped with a creamy tzatziki, accompanied by a tasty tomato and red onion salad on a bed of lettuce and a generous portion of hummus topped with a slightly spicy olive oil and Kalamata olive. Prices are relatively modest in the current restaurant scene. When taking into account the quality of their product and the sizable portions, Man'oushe offers good value for a tasty meal. read more

This is a 4.5 star but I rounded down a little. I was hoping to stop by soon so I can confirm my rating but I haven't done that :) so I will write a review now and update later. Parking is a little difficult but not too bad. We got the "pizza" and the cheesy fries. I originally wanted to get the falafel and the Greek fries but the cheesy fries sounds tempting so we got that instead. The "pizza" was really good, I really enjoyed everything about it. The cheesy fries was just ok for me. It was a lot but the flavor wasn't amazing. Everything ingredients was good but it didn't work well together in my opinion. I definitely want to come back to try their falafel and Greek fries. Definitely come for the pizza though that was really good read more

It's not often I give 5 stars on my first go at a restaurant, but Man'oushe was a hotly anticipated Mediterranean stop on my list for over a year, and even with the built up anticipation it was stellar. First off, they're CASH ONLY. But there's an ATM by the counter, so don't fret. Just bring your debit card. The woman taking our order welcomed us and let us take our time poring over the menu. I ordered the Veggie Plate (falafel, dolmades, rice, hummus, baba ghanouj, pickled vegetables, tahini, and pita) which was more feast than I could handle in one sitting, but I gave it a good go. How do they make their falafel so perfect?? Firm exterior with an almost creamy inside. They were so tasty. Everything, really, was delicious. This unassuming garage like little place is alright! First time around, there was a huge line and had to wait about 25 minutes for the falafel. Falafels were popular here. I wanted to try everything: Falafel, Hummus, Baba Ghanouj, rice, Grape Leaves and Fresh Baked Pita. So I got the veggie plate. And seems like it's my goto since. I meant to try their zaatar/ meat plates but the variety in veggie plates seem perfect for me to sway. Falafels are some of the most delicious ones! Perfectly fried, crunch, dense and savory. Rice is like buttery goodness. Legit buttery. Love the hummus. And it's very close to my pup's favorite dog park bar. Usually there isn't must in the area for me but this is a convenient find. Dishes are around $11-$13 I believe. Falafel was $6 ish. Cash only!! They also have 2 different spots. You want walk up and order at the restaurant or go down to the walk up window in the parking lot. They always seem very busy: which is a good thing. People that work here seem nice too. And... Legit. Whether I'm craving a Flatbread or a sandwich, Man'oushe has something that has me covered. If you're getting a z'atar or lebneh Flatbread, make sure you get a side of the marinated veggies. Something about the combo of the Flatbread, with the olives, mint and cucumber, it hits the tastebuds just right! I think they changed the lamb Shwarma after the pandemic. It used to be chunks of lamb, but the last one I got was ground meat. The falafel is good too. Place your order online if you don't have cash. They do have an ATM inside if you want to dine in. I used to live in this area (up till summer 2020) and loved this place. The bread was always fresh made, and the lamb or chicken shawarma ($9.95) was delicious. The people were always friendly and enthusiastic. It's cash only but there is a cash machine there now. The restaurant is above Goody's a nice Middle Eastern grocery and butcher with a great selection of products that are hard to find elsewhere. I went back a few days ago (August 2023) and I was really disappointed. The employees seemed a bit disinterested. We stood waiting for several while people walked by without acknowledging us, then a girl came to take our order and it was basically "yeah?" The food had also changed. The bread was not theirs, it was clearly pre-packaged and either stale or heated till it was dry. The meat was dry and crumbly, as if it had been cooked up sometime that morning and had sat around all day, and been reheated to complete the drying process. I won't be going back. What a lovely local gem! I stopped by here in the past, and decided to re-visit this store to stock up on some new goodies. Returned back the very next day for more baba ghanouj. Heavenly, it's heavenly! Smoky, perfectly creamy. I'm hooked. Goes well with the thick pita, some sliced cucumbers and tomatoes, and fresh green olives. Their olives selection allows you to try just about any kind. Some of my personal favorites are the grilled olives. Everything else is ok but the Za'ter and the meat flat bread are truly delicious. The falafels are also good there so I limit my meals there to these three items only. A bit out of hand for me, but I wanted to try this place so badly, I'm a huge fan of Lebanese cuisine and in particular manoush. It did not disappoint. The mana'eesh zaatar and cheese was freshly baked and amazing. The zaatar was a bit different from the one I'm used to, but it was delicious nonetheless. The baba ganoush was very fresh and very good, but a bit too garlicky for my taste. The girl at the cashier put me off a bit, she talked in a very low voice, couldn't hear anything, and the whole interaction was kind of awkward. She didn't even give me or asked for any utensils. I liked the ambience and I support their causes. Overall very good, might be tough to come back often, but it's definitely in my list and you should definitely check it out if you're in the area. read more

I feel a little like a proud uncle- (ok, a second uncle twice removed maybe) this Lake City gem has gone from a little flatbread operation in the back of a Mediterranean grocery to being a full-fledged restaurant occupying the entire top floor of the grocery, offering not just the famous Mana'eesh flatbreads with their exotic (to most) flavor combinations at equally exotic reasonable prices (the most expensive one is $5.99!) but also gyro, shawarma, falafel, and other Mediterranean nibbles. I must admit some trepidation, because when some companies branch out and start trying to please a greater cross section of customers, the flavors and service that made them great can become phoned-in, watered down, "Americanized", etc. That does not appear to be the case, thus far. Service is still spectacularly efficient- they were in the midst of a mad rush when I came in, and effective and rapid transactions kept the line moving, the food coming out, and people happy. I got the lamb shawarma sandwich with fries and a mint yoghurt drink, to try the newer stuff. Shawarma is one of my favorite foods, and theirs did not disappoint-big flavors, fresh veg, and a delightful and authentic bread. Live the addition of a little parsley, the green flavor popping against the rich spiced meat. The fries were fries- I recommend ordering garlic sauce on the side, or hitting them with some seasoning salt or sumac. Would love to see some cool fry dishes with some of those sane flatbread flavor combinations...zaatar and lebni perhaps? Ooo: how about a mid-eastern poutine, with the spicy sausage and garlic aioli? Just riffing here. The cracks in the foundation may be appearing in the form of American-style pepperoni and garlic chicken pizzas on the menu (the nod to the unadventurous is always a bad sign) but thus remains some of the best food you can get in Lake City! This is an absolute gem. Their flatbreads are so delicious. I love them. I have had - Flayfleh - Cheese - Lamb - Sujuk All of them are so delish. Especially the cheese pizzas. Surprisingly light and fragrant. The lamb and Sujuk can be a little bit heavier because there is meat but with a little squeeze of lemon ....Yum! The acid cuts the heaviness and just creates a perfect medley of flavors in your mouth. Their lamb shwarma is also very very good. One of the best shwarmas I've had in Seattle. So much love for the folks running the shop. Excellent service, very friendly and polite. The food comes out consistently perfect every time. read more

Delicious, quick, easy, friendly, priced right! We ordered a Chicken Shawarma Sandwich and the flatbread with spicy beef on it plus an order to the grape Leaves and everything we had was delicious! The only thing I wish I had done differently is order more! We saw so many tables with delicious looking pita and hummus, falafel, and so many other things that I wanted to try. Next time I'm ordering more. Parking was easy on the street but we went on a Sunday. I noticed there is also parking behind the restaurant but we didn't need to try that because of the open steer parking. One thing I would think about before you go is that they are cash only!! I had very high hopes for this Mediterranean spot, but deeply disappointed. The food was not as tasty as it could have been, and i feel like there are definitely tastier spots in the area. First off, this place is cash only, which isn't a huge deal, but more of an FYI. To eat, my husband and I got the greek garlic fries, hummus, falafel sandwich, and lamb shawarma. The greek garlic fries tasted like frozen fries, and the toppings didn't help - it was underseasoned as well. The hummus was just okay - but way too much oil and seasoning. The falafel & shawarma sandwich was good, but both way too messy. I don't know if it'd be back given we live quite far from here, but if I happen to be in the area I'd potentially give it another chance. If you as intrigued as I am, then check it out, but otherwise pass for some other more delicious Mediterranean spots in Seattle. read more
