On Sunday (May 4th), after attending church in Shoreline, I decided to enjoy a picnic at Richmond Beach--a nostalgic visit after having lived in Bothell for the past seven years. Before heading to the park, I stopped by Sultan Gyro and Shawarma Grill in Shoreline, around 1:30pm to grab a bite. While I was looking forward to the meal, my interaction with the young man at the register left me feeling uncomfortable. When I used the term "lavash," he responded with a smirk and corrected me, calling it a "tortilla," in a way that felt unnecessarily dismissive. I did appreciate the cook's friendlier demeanor and was glad he completed my order, as I didn't feel up to continuing the conversation with the cashier. As I was leaving, the cashier called out "have a nice day" in a tone that felt more combative than kind--an unfortunate way to end the visit. As someone who is neurodivergent, I value environments where staff are mindful and inclusive. Seattle is generally a place that embraces diversity, and I hope that leadership can improve its customer service training to reflect that spirit. Unfortunately, I don't see myself returning, but I do hope my feedback helps bring about a more welcoming experience for others in the future. read more

Came in here hungry , to a motly empty restaurant. Experienced very slow service. Came here wanting a sandwich at noon. No one else in establishment, but three local high school students. unfortunately, they were out of patience after waiting a prolonged period for their food. I got there and estimated my wait ar45 minutes for a sandwich. Their order took a half hour for three sandwiches.Totally unacceptable for the very small service at this Waited 25 minutes for my simple wrap. So slow service,, the young people waiting for their food became increasingly frustrated with the long wait, especially since no orders were before theirs. in my experience, high school students are on a limited time for lunch. How frustrating to have to endure at 45 minute wait for a simple sandwich, when you are the only ones in the establishment. Sandwichof Arabic lamb Swarma, was terrible. Seems they used tortI'lla with rather dry lamb meat. Very little tomato and onion. Side of garlic sauce that was good, but could not redeem the bland components of the sandwich. Nothing like the vibrant Swarma sandwiches I have experienced in many other establishments.People here do not appreciate the beauty of the history of their their food and pass mediocre goods onto others. From out of town and my first time here, I was happy to find a shawarma restaurant even though I didn't see a traditional rotisserie spit. There was chatter in Arabic, which was nice to hear. Ordered the Arabic Shawarma with lamb, lovely traditional flatbread, and the lamb had the texture of kofta with a similar rich flavor. It came with an olive, a peperoncini and a garlic aioli. Good solid flavors, just not quite what I'm accustomed to eating from my shawarma experiences in California or D.C. Metro area. If you like shawarma or just trying new cuisines, I recommend trying this small restaurant. And next time I'm visiting the Subaru dealership I'll make another stop here! read more

My boss wanted gyro one day during our shift and recommended this place as it was close by our workplace AND cheap prices. I did notice this little shop a while back because of the gyro advertisement and because it was located in the same lot as a gas station LOL. It's located next to the Shoreline Food & Gas on the corner of N 175th St and Aurora Ave N. There's a small parking lot in front and some street parking behind it on 175th. I got the Classic Gyro Lamb & Beef. The portions were HUGE for the amount paid. What a steal! Big portions but not much flavor to the gyro... missing something... but the amount of food given makes up for it. I almost couldn't finish my gyro. We also ordered the Greek Fries, and omg. What is this amazing dish?! Soooo much flavor with feta cheese. YUM. The spices and sauce on the fries were delicious! The fries were nice and crispy even after being in the container for a while. Overall, a nice random place to grab something cheap and quick! The Greek fries, though, highly recommend getting. Soooo much goodness in one bite. read more

Stopped here last week for dinner. They were almost closed. But they took my order since it's already late and knowing that I won't find many places to grab food. Ordered Fried eggplant sandwich and chicken gyro. Took around 10 mins foe the food to be ready. The ambience of this place was nice. They had already stacked their chairs; has no place to sit and wait. Once the food was ready they packed it really well for a takeout. Absolutely loved the eggplant sandwich. Was in two minds when I ordered it, but was thrilled to get such a quality and delicious sandwich. One of the best ones. Chicken gyro was ok, not great but not that bad either. Chicken was tender and juicy. Loved the food and service. The location is very convenient. Not far from I-5. Corner of a junction with good number of parking spaces. I see this hole in the wall when I travel down Hwy 99 and wanted to try it. Today was the day. The food was cooked fast, fresh and was tasty. After I got my meal, it came with fries I realized they didn't ask my choice of sides when I ordered. I probably would've got a different side dish. I had the strange can of soda that was cherry flavored (?) and it had 48 grams of sugar.Yikes! The house made hot sauce is vinegar based and not too hot. After a bit I mixed it with ketchup for a spicy dipping sauce for my fries. I had the Turbo Gyro. It was delicious. Chock full of ingredients and the meat was savory and flavorful. Chicken gyro - overcooked chicken by 1.5 mins, under seasoned (needed more salt in the marinade), and kept digging for more sauce as I was biting into my gyro (but not much found, as you can see in my picture). Come here for a quick, quality meal on the go. The Arabic shawarma with beef or chicken is extremely flavorful with good portion sizes. You can even request double meat, which turned out to be pretty huge. The garlic sauce that comes with these sandwiches is super creamy and rich, with a strong garlic taste. Taste excellent with the sandwich, definitely be ready for some serious garlic breath. The grape leaves are OK, falafel is good when it's fresh! The kabob plates are pretty decent, but I recommend sticking to the sandwiches. The Greek fries are awesome. Again, get ready for the garlic breath. But worth it. Noticed that he greeted the same for other customers walking in. Consistent. When I left, the employee said have a great day! Four tables to dine in (suitable of 2) with a counter top with 5 chairs looking towards the gas station and Aurora. As for the Chicken Gyro. It's sandwich with a great mixture of vegetables (40%, lettuce, onions and tomatoes),chicken (60%) with green creamy Mediterranean sauce (has a bit of a curry taste to it and maybe ranch) and pita bread. Nice quick bite and the wait is less than 10 minutes with 1 customer waiting ahead of me. This is my second time coming here and I might be a regular if I don't feel like cooking and it's close proximity from where I live. I would definitely choose this over fast food chains. On keto diet so had to be careful with what I order. I got the gyro salad with double meat. Very generous on the meat, definitely get double meat if you want leftovers. Oh man the gyro is probably the most delicious I've had in a long while. Salty, tender, fresh, yummm. Lovely owners too! My husband got the lamb wrap plate which was pretty tasty. Loved the yellow peppers, olives as side. Would have done the option of Greek feta thrown on fries next time. I think gyro is what they do best though, can't go wrong with gyro! So fresh. We also got a plate of fried cauliflower and eggplant (keto friendly) and it was very tasty. They don't bread it or anything. It's literally cut up cauliflower florets and eggplant slices deep fried. I Worked across the street at Carter Subaru and used to come here occasionally for lunch with my boyfriend. A Reasonably priced, no-frills takeout spot, with some healthy options to choose from, the owner is really friendly and will chat with all his customers as he prepares their food. *Delivery Order This was a disappointing experience all around. My wife and I ordered a chicken gyro with fries, a chicken shawarma with Greek fries and a side of extra sauce. What we got was two chicken gyros a greek fries and side of sauce. One wrong item and one fries missing. The first disappointment, but oh well, I still like gyros I just was hoping to try more of a rang of the menu. Disappointment 2. Everything was soggy and not just like a little damp from the delivery trip, but like dripping with water wet. Our fries had a puddle at the bottom and when I opened the box the box was dripping with moisture. Disappointment 3, even though everything was sopping wet the meat was SUPER DRY. Every bite would just sit in my mouth flavorless and dry. The menu says the meat is marinated in Mediterranean spices, which translates, I guess to a curry like sauce over the chicken, which also was terrible. The flavors were all off and it was very chalky (too much turmeric maybe). My guess is that after the chicken is originally cooked they put it in some kind of container where it sits in this curry like sauce until they get an order which is why it is both very dry and wet. The fires were so soggy I had to eat them with a fork, but they had no flavor no salt, no texture. The only flavor I was getting was from the feta and there wasn't very much of that. I don't know what was going on with their sauce either. It was like sour cream. I've eaten a lot of Mediterranean and Middle-eastern cuisine but I've never had a sauce like that. I was glad I had it after I tasted the fries and my gyro and realized how flavorless everything was, so I pourd it all over both but it didn't add flavor, it just was like adding sour cream. I always give Restaurant a handicap for delivery, a lot is out of their control, like temperature and presentation. I will also say the "unnamed popular delivery service app" I used was very strange as well, it had items listed multiple times and they would sometimes have different options. I know restaurant don't usually have any control of that and it might be the reason for the order mix up which I can forgive, but there was a lot more going wrong here than wrong items and for that I have to give my score of 2 stars. read more

What they do well: the staff is friendly and personable, the portions are fair, the taste is as it should be. They have pretty decent parking since it's next to the gas station. What they could work on: They need to add more sauce! Four stars for the taste, but the fact that they didn't put enough sauce on -1 star!!! I also think that they could add red onions and cucumbers to their options of added veggies. Overall, for my first time there, I am a pretty happy camper. A little spot packing a big punch of flavor! We got the gyro and beef shawarma sandwich! Amazing...so flavorful and perfect portion size to keep you wanting more! The garlic fries are another story so fresh and satisfying and that sauce loved it all and definitely will be going back if in the area again! I miss the former burger place run by a kind Asian couple at 175th and Aurora, by the Valero gas station. Then the burrito place after them was so short lived. But when I saw the open sign this evening (6/18/16) for Sultan Gyro and Shawarma Grill on the way to Fred Meyer... Hurray there's Mediterranean food in Shoreline! This business is so new that I was just the third customer. The debit/credit card still had quirks, but I definitely knew I had to select something to go because I had trunkful of groceries. Who cares about melted ice cream when there's potentially tasty goodness to be had. However, there is inside seating available with a flat screen to pass the time. Additional signage was still being put up and no available business cards or takeout menus yet. I had to use my own pen to sign the receipt. They're that new. Just enlarge the photo of the posted interior menu to get an idea of their cuisine offerings. There is quite the variety and smelled amazing while a pair of gyros were being prepared hot off the grill for takeout. I was also given a sweet treat for their opening day. Unwrapping the gyros to photograph and sample...amazing fresh vegies, flavorful complex sauce, tender beef/lamb slices grilled to perfection all wrapped in a pita. Very generous ala carte serving, there's also a gyros platter. I'm hoping that other northenders give Sultan Gyro and Shawarma Grill a try. This is their second location at 175th and Aurora. Their original site is still going strong in Seattle's University District at 4222 U Way, serving a gazillion college students. Here in Shoreline head west off the 175th exit from I-5, it's also on the Metro Rapid Ride E route on Hwy 99/Aurora. read more

Not sure if this is owned by the same owners who have the business of the same name in the U District. Located on the corner across from Trader Joe's by the Valero gas station. Driving by and noticed the short lived burrito place was gone and now this was here. Came back couple days later to check it out. Kinda sketchy since the signage and organization seems to scream "Stay away!" The gyro was OK, nothing great but not bad either. I'm a sucker for baklava, grape leaves and falafel so I will come back to try other things. read more
