I love coming here especially after a hard workout from across the street at 24 hour fitness. I'm not sure if that's counterproductive, but hey a girls gotta eat. The seating is very limited, but if the weather is nice I would suggest to sit outside if possible. I don't recommend that you take out like plates of food because if you don't eat it right away the cardboard container that it is in will become wet and flimsy because of the steam. It's also better to eat it right when you get it! I usually always get a lamb shawarma plate that comes with basmati rice, delicious pieces of well cooked lamb, salad, tzatziki sauce, and flat bread. They are always so generous with the bread they give! The amount of food they give is very generous as well! The food is consistently tasty and it doesn't take long for it to get to you. The food was good -- I would have given that a 4. The service was horrible -- I actually would give that a 1. We ordered online, and the order wasn't done when I arrived. When I saw that although we ordered 2 extra sauces and 2 extra breads, that there was only one of each, the man at the counter gave me a hard time and tried to argue with me--in front of other patrons--that we only paid for 1 extra. I showed him the receipt, and added the math for him, and he tried to say the extra we paid was tax. It wasn't -- I showed him the tax below. Very good food! My family and I decided we would try something new and were pleased with our choice. I tried the shwarma (sp?) and it was delicious and HUGE! I couldn't even finish it in the first night. Hubby got a gyro with extra meat and loved it, the kids got regular gyros and even our biggest eaters had a hard time finishing! The only thing was the price...a bit pricey for a family of 7 ($70 for dinner! Eek!) but we would definately go back when the kiddos are at grandma's! read more

The gyro was pretty basic. It was good and had a ton of meat on it. The veggies could be better- my lettuce was rotten and the tomato was mushy. Also the fries tastes freezer burned. I wouldn't say it was the worst gyro or the best, but I've had way better and so can you. read more

I have had my fair share of Gyros, and this place has the best ones in town. I almost called them up just to tell them how great the Gyro was personally. New to the neighborhood, my husband and I popped in here one night after the gym. We were greeted with friendly service and delicious food that didn't leave us feeling like we had ruined our workout. I lived across the street and ate here maybe 30 times. After that many visits I have two recommendations. Avoid late night, the food is old and the lettuce and tomatoes seem like they have been sitting out all day. Avoid delivery. They screwed up the order and we had to go back over there to get it fixed. Most times it's great,the people there are super friendly. Overall a decent place, actually, I will go there again. However, I give 3 stats because the prices don't quite justify what you get. Yes, it's not much of a sit-down place, but you can dine-in it wait for your pickup. I feel like they could put a little more effort into making the sitting area a little more cozy and customer friendly. The employees could be a little more friendly too; they aren't rude, but they just seem like they don't want to be there. Same goes for food. One of the better lamb shwarma sandwiches I've had lately, and I'm becoming a repeat customer here because of it. Nice tender lamb and good spicy sauce. Get the meal with the fries, their fries are pretty good and the combo is really filling. I recently also tried the lamb shwarma plate rather than the sandwich, but didn't enjoy it as much as the sandwich, so I'd say stick with the sandwiches over the plates. Gyro Hut is tucked away in a strip mall by Northgate Mall which is kind of a shame because I think if they were in a place that had more foot traffic, they could be more popular. They make probably the best falafels I've ever had. Hands down. The Greek fries are pretty great, too. They're accommodating for vegetarians, which is a plus for me. read more

This is one of the better gyro shops in the general area. The trend with most of these shops is to cram as much meat on a small piece of bread as possible and then they skimp on the vegetables. Unfortunately, Gyro Hut is no exception. The meat is good flavor and the food is fresh. However, if they wanted to take it up a notch and earn that 4th or 5th star, then they'd use a larger pita, add fresh cucumber, more tomato, greek olives and more feta on top. Make it a more balanced sandwich. I can understand the folks that feel like the staff is rude. I think in general they are curt and efficient. There's definitely a cultural difference. I did have an experience there once where I ordered baklava and never received it. When I let the manager know (he also rung me up), he said I didn't pay for baklava. I indeed had paid for it. He spent several minutes or more looking through all his receipts trying to find mine. Eventually he just gave me the baklava and acknowledged I had paid for it. I admit I felt like he could have apologized or offered us a second one for so incredulously questioning me, but in the end, it was not that big of a deal. I think I saw some comments about the $6.99 gyro meal not including a fancier drink (i.e. you just get a canned soda or bottled water.) But, honestly, I'm glad it's included. Many other places would charge separately and possibly more, so I think it's fair. I'm sure a customer could pay the difference if they wanted one of the $2 drinks. read more
