Mango Lassi
Belldandy O.

The Momo King is located in the food court of the Tacoma Mall. I rarely get food or drinks at the mall, but I noticed that they had Mango Lassi on the menu when I was walking by. There was no line at the time. I ordered and paid for the Mango Lassi. Before I put away my card, they already had my drink out for me! Plus it was so cheap, only $5.50 after tax. I was a bit alarmed at how orange the Mango Lassi was. I've only had mango lassi twice before and every time it's been a different color. It was yummy though! Not too sweet, but quite refreshing.

Butter Momo (chicken)

Fabulous nepalese momo place in Tacoma. I stopped by for a quick evening snack and ordered their butter momos (chicken) - literally chicken momos drenched in butter chicken gravy (10/10 flavors) and the chilli momos (chicken) - fabulous. Both the momos were fresh and steamed to perfection and seasoned very well and the sauces complimented the momos very well. The next time I want to try their chowmein and basic steamed/fried momos. The lady taking the orders was super sweet and order was freshly made and ready in about 10mins. Highly recommend to satisfy your nepalese momo cravings when in the area. See you soon!

Sweet Lassi

We went here a little after they opened and once more recently, but I have to admit that the quality and taste went down since we first tried them. First, it didn't take too long to receive our order when we first ordered compared to when we ordered recently, despite them not being busy or having another other orders ahead of us. The temperature and taste definitely was lacking as if it was just frozen and maybe heated up? It's disappointing to see that they have declined after some time, as some businesses do. I do want to try their chow mein at some point and their prices are pretty decent for mall food. However, there are better options in the mall and Tacoma for just a little bit more for delicious, better portioned food. The menu is interesting and I remember they had a fun ad playing in the background when we first visited but it seems they stopped doing that as well. Overall, I do hope things improve for them if they want to stick around.

Butter Momo (dumpling) has a mild curry flavor that we dipped our fries in. So good

I don't know what Nepalese food is supposed to taste like but this was pretty good. Learned from the sweet server that momo means dumplings. I had to try a bit of everything so I ordered al Sweet Lassi which is a yogurt drink, a Chicken Frankie Roll , side of fries, and butter pork momo. The sweet lassi was recommended by the cashier. I could taste the yogurt but it was pretty good. The Frankie roll was pretty good too. I was able to share the second roll with my sister. It was chicken, carrots and a lightly sweet sauce. We enjoyed really enjoyed this. The butter momo, i was told the pork tastes best and so we ordered the pork. The momo comes with 10 pieces. We started eating the dumplings after we ate our rolls so as not to burn our mouth. Because every dumpling was covered in sauce, I wasn't able to tell if the dumpling by itself was good. However, the sauce is very mild spice and flavored with a little bit of curry. The sauce was so good that we used it to dip the fries in. Momo King is located in the Tacoma mall food court so there really isn't an atmosphere other than food court. We went on a weekday and so it was less crowded it still loud. All-in-all the food was pretty good and I would definitely come back.

This is one of those places I eat at and forget to check in or update because once the food comes I just eat. The service here is always very good and the food excellent. The menu has expanded and now has some very tasty options but I am currently stuck in the CoCoMo Chicken rut. If you have kids I recommend the Cheese MoMo. You can get your MoMo with or without sauce. Or they have a very tasty soup. All items are made by hand on site. Service: Great Cleanliness: Very Good Beverages: Coke Products

Chicken and rice noodles

This is my second experience at Momo King, and I liked it just as much! I came back for the chicken lollipops but they were out, so I tried the chicken and rice noodles. The chicken was so good and the veg was an interesting contrast. It was a bit spicy for me, but the flavor was so good I couldn't stop eating it! Thank goodness I ordered the delicious lassi to counter the spiciness! It will take them a little longer than the other mall places to get your food, but that doesn't mean it takes a long time, and it's worth the wait.

I was in the area and decided to try the momos since they caught my eye. The sauces had a good flavor, but the momos themselves were quite chewy and only tasted okay. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to leave a lasting impression. I'm not sure I'd return, but perhaps it was just bad timing.

In the Tacoma Mall food court, Momo King is good for a quick bite. Napalese dumplings, steamed or in a sauce, are tasty. You can add your own amount of hot sauce to make them spicy or mild. As a splurge, I ordered the mango lassi. Thicker than juice but less than a smoothie, lassi is a tasty drink and goes well with the dumplings. The cashier was friendly but a food court will never be a favorite eating location.

I've been pretty curious about this place for the past couple of years lol. So I finally gave it a shot. I had ordered the butter chicken dumplings and these were amazing. The price of what you get for the portions on this was pretty worth it. The customer service was great, and I guess overall the vibe I mean it is inside the mall so you can have that option of eating inside the food court or just getting an order to go.

Update: I used to love this place but after reading through all the food inspection reports and violations, I will no longer eat there

Chicken wrap, Chowmein with chicken and spicy momo
Wennie H.

2.5 stars. Ordered the chicken wrap, spicy pork momo and the chowmein. I actually ordered the vegetable chowmein but got rung up for chicken. Unfortunately the chicken in the wrap and noodles was super chewy and tough. The wrap had a sweet taste, like too much personally, felt like a sweet and sour sauce but I liked the egg in it. The noodles had cumin and were pretty good except for the chicken. The dumplings were ok- too saucy and also felt like a sweet and sour sauce.

If you love butter chicken, the dumplings are a must try for you! It is heavy on the spices, super creamy, abundantly flavorful and absolutely amazing. It is a delicious dish and I highly recommend trying it. This gem is located in the Tacoma Mall and I was quite shocked because I think this place could thrive having their own place. I was eager to try it and enjoyed my plate in the mall food court. Definitely a dish I would recommend splitting with someone or you can expect to take half home. I ate all of it and it was delicious, I have no regrets, but I was definitely full for the rest of the day. They are filled to the max and I probably should have paced myself but again, they're really good! It's creamier than the creamiest pasta you've ever had and a lot more satisfying. A perfect comfort food.

Delicious, flavourful, and fresh dumplings! Nepali cuisine and momos aren't super common here, so I was super excited to try The Momo King! The food exceeded my expectations! The meat inside was well-seasoned, and the sauces were full of flavour. The lassi was good too, tasted as I expected. We followed the staff's recommendation and got the chili momo and butter momo. If you're good with spice, the chili momo is a good amount of spice (not too hot, but definitely a noticeable kick). The butter momos were my favourite. The butter curry sauce was so flavourful, our party ended up eating all the extra curry sauce too. Overall decent portion size for the price. Would definitely grab momos here again! Hoping to try the plain momo or cheese momo next time.

The butter pork MoMo melts in your mouth. It comes with 10 dumplings. The sauce tastes great and there is plenty of it. A must try

I definitely shouldn't have thought jajangmyeon as my first option but I was also super hungry and it was the cheapest thing on the menu, while I was also thinking it wouldn't take that long. Plus they were open early which was great as we were in the area around 10am! When we arrived, there was a older gentleman who greeted us then looked like he was prepping for the day. He can speak Korean and English just fine too. Once we were ready, we placed an order of jajangmyeon and egg rolls and he brought us out banchan. I did ask for more daikon but he seemed to have forgotten or maybe left as his daughter was there delivering food, tea and taking orders. She was a lot more attentive, she would check in on customers and was very friendly! Also it turns out that my boyfriend's friend who he has known since high school was that female employee, so for those saying the owners have changed, they have not. There is plenty of seating at this food court as well as other options from sushi, Korean food and and this spot that serves Korean-Chinese food. The lighting here is a bit dark but it is light enough to take different photos. It's not too cold nor hot either. You can also leave your plates, utensils and trash on the table and someone will come get it. The jajangmyeon was really good, I was surprised as I feel like there aren't too many places that have good jajangmyeon in Lakewood but I can say it is way better than the other places that serve in the area. I usually don't scoop up the sauce but it was actually really good. They offer kimchi, onion and daikon for their side dishes which I think is perfectly fine. They do offer refills and when I asked for more daikon, the kind female employee even gave me extra vinegar. My boyfriend said the egg roll was pretty good too. We look forward to coming back!

Parking is shared with the mall parking lot; easy to find when it's not busy, but can be challenging to maneuver when it does get busy. Seems like there is just one entrance at the front to the store, where the line is set up from the door so it doesn't feel like there is much room, especially if you're ordering takeout and have to wait for your order. I like to order ahead with the Jollibee app since it offers rewards with a points system and also to limit social interactions. My order is usually ready by the time I arrive, so no complaints there. What's great about Jollibee fried chicken is that it's fried perfectly, even when it's not fresh. I'm not going to question the magic behind it, I will just say it tastes crispy and yummy and tastes great with rice or the gravy that it comes with. The portions are fair for the price. My pre-teen son likes their spicy chicken sandwich; for the "spice," it comes with Sriracha mayo and jalapeños but we usually exclude the jalapeños. The chicken tenders taste a bit mediocre and chewy for me, so probably won't order that again. When it comes to sides, the mashed potatoes and the spaghetti is good! The spaghetti is a bit on the sweeter side for me, but I like all the ingredients mixed into it. I can taste some meat (beef or sausage?) and cheese. I tried it for the first time yesterday and might order it again. I haven't tried the fries here since the pics don't look all that impressive to me. You can't go wrong with the dessert pies if you're craving something sweet. They do have the ube pie here and the peach mango pie. Drink options are fairly limited though.. I mean, you have your classic soda options but the only specialty drink they offer is their pineapple quencher drink. I was expecting this location to offer similar drink options compared to the Mack Rd/South Sac location in California (I frequented that location when I lived there but recently moved to Washington). They had a coconut dream freeze and lychee iced tea and other drink options I really enjoyed, but there's nothing like that at this location. Hence the 4 stars since I'm mainly just coming here for the fried chicken. Another reason is because some items appear out of stock. I wad able to order adobo rice for my previous visit a few weeks ago but when I went earlier this week, that option wasn't available on the app (which was why I decided to try out the spaghetti). They currently are doing a limited time collab with Final Fantasy XIV where you can get an exclusive "Eat Chicken" emote with purchase of the FFXIV box meal or 6 pc bucket bundle, but personally, I feel that it's overpriced and you're paying about $7 for the emote. If you haven't had Jollibee before, I'd recommend trying their chicken at least once. Definitely better quality than Popeyes and KFC (with the exception of the chicken tenders).

The spaghetti was easily the worst I've ever had, and the fried chicken was rubbery rather than crispy and juicy. The experience in the restaurant didn't help either. The digital menu boards kept changing while I was trying to decide what to order, which made ordering more frustrating than it needed to be. The soda machine was also out of service, and the pineapple quencher cost extra, which felt like an unnecessary upsell when the standard fountain drinks weren't available. I also happened to see a food delivery while we were there and watched employees preparing frozen fries for the fryer. I understand that's standard practice at many fast-food restaurants, but it reinforced that the food wasn't what I was hoping for. Overall, I don't really understand the hype. Based on our experience, we won't be back.
