I had a combo with chicken, lamb and falafel. came over rice and some salad. would prefer the sauce on the side next time... otherwise it gets mushy. Also, I'd have preferred my salad to one side, it was served on top, like a big bowl of stuff. I went in this past Friday night in hopes of ordering food with my girlfriend but what I got was a nice surprised that I had expected. Couple months ago I was there with my girlfriend dining in and I accidentally left my fat where I sat. A hat that my girlfriend got me... 2m later I go back in too look for it and it was GONE. Wowwwwww this place is like your regular platters but better. The food has a nice Indian twist to it. For $8-9 you get a TON of food- it lasts me like 3 meals sometimes. We got a catering order from here and everyone at the party was very happy with the food, we had roughly 40 people. The catering platters come with a great variety of delicious chicken, beef and lamb all over yellow rice. Gave this place another chance and what a mistake! I ordered something very clearly and the guy on the phone confirmed it after I spoke. My wife gets home and the order is not correct. I bring the order back to the store and explain that half the order is incorrect. The worker pointed at himself and said "you think this is my fault". I said the order is not correct. He then proceeded to say again "your think this is my fault but it's not my fault you should check the food before you leave". I said you did not make my order correct please refund me and keep the incorrect order. A second employee started yelling. WE WENT BACK AND FORTH FOR A FEW MINUTES! I almost yelled back as they were raising their voices but I kept my cool. I then said either refund me or I will dispute it on my credit card. He refunded me a partial refund because half my order was correct, but by this time it was cold and I did not want it. They did not offer to re-make the order correctly not did they offer to make the half of the order correct that was wrong. I encountered a lack of food and beverage knowledge, and frankly employees who were blatantly DISRESPECTFUL WITHOUT CONCERN FOR OTHERS! BEWARE!!! Fortunately, I am a confident person who does not scare easy. I am sure these disrespectful employees intimidate people over and over again when they fail making orders. If I didnt have to give it a star, I would not. This place has terrible service. Order was supposed to be ready at 2:25-2:30. We arrive at 2:30. Walking in, there was no acknowledgement for 5 minutes by two of the workers. Mind you the kitchen is an open area. We were the only ones in the restaurant. After they acknowledged us, it was RIGHT THEN they started to preparing the food. They stated that it would take another 10 minutes. Fine. We left and came back more than 10 minutes later. Our order was still not ready. Customers were still not being acknowledged by staff. And orders that were being taken down as a walk in were getting prepared before ours. We left a little after 3 with no food. They won't refund our money. They can't get their story straight when we asked for a refund and blamed us for everything that they did wrong. read more

Went to Gyro King in Dumont last night with the intention of ordering 3 Gyro's and a Large French Fri. First Gyro I asked for was a Lamb Gyro and asked them to put a couple of slices of cheese on it. The employee that I spoke to said no. We do not have cheese. I then asked if they had cheese for a cheeseburger and the employee says yes they do. So I then ask why they couldn't just put a couple of slices of cheese on the Lamb Gyro. I told him that I'd be willing to pay extra for the cheese. He said no. We do not put cheese on a Gyro. I then explained that I've asked for this in the past, with no issues. He said whoever did that for you was wrong and did not own this store. There were a total of 4 employees and one of them approached me and seemed like he was going to help me when the original crew member started lecturing him in another language and at that point they were not going to help me with my order. I even said that I'm going to order over $30 worth of food. Are you willing to lose that sale? Yes, you can leave. So I left. I was surprised because I've been to this location in the past, with no issues. Don't think I'd ever go back because of the poor customer service. read more

I found myself trying to give gyro king a chance. They have great lamb, their wings are good , so is their white sauce but if you want a original lamb gyro be prepared as they add onions and peppers to the meat. If I wanted a lamb cheesesteak gyro this is the place to go but they refuse to give me a traditional gyro pita with only meat, LTO and sauce. The name Gyro King doesn't belong as it was the worst service and gyro I have ever tried. My 1st bite was all onion as they add raw onion as well as my 2nd bite was raw peppers I couldn't finish it. All I wanted was a regular gyro and they refused to remove the additional vegetables. There most definitely was no need or reason to add veggies to the meat at all. Dont know how much stock I put on other people's stellar reviews when most of them think Subway & Olive Garden are even edible... but here goes. One of the worst halal platter/gyro spots i've experienced & this is coming from a guy who used to travel to midtown 6th back when the really good Halal carts first kicked off. But that was like over a decade ago & since then, even that area is saturated by mediocre impostors. So figured I'd try it out since my go to spot is a bit of a drive & its relatively new. Went inside and the place was completely empty minus the cook & the guy at the register. Placed an order for a simple gyro & went to the patio to wait. 5 minutes later I watched the cook come up from the back, make himself a gryo platter, pick himself out a beverage (while having some words with the other guy), and then sit down & eat it. The other guy, who took my money, never washed his hands & proceeded to then make my gryo...which absolutely sucked btw!! There was a weird caraway seed & oregano flavor, and the fact that there were green peppers threw the whole thing off. When I asked for the gyro, I asked what comes with it...lettuce, tomatoes, onions...& he's like yeah yeah yeah. So I told him to hold the onions. I was not expecting the majority of the gyro to be green peppers, cucumbers, lettuce & tomatoes. Dont know if that's the way they do it there, or if I got screwed because the cook didnt make it & really dont care. All I know is that THAT was my first, and LAST experience. But yes... they are cheap !! Fyi to those that think this is legit halal... gryo meat should be sliced, NOT cubed like a giant croutons !! read more

Ordered food for the family,it took two hours to deliver after multiple calls questioning the ETA they insisted it was 7 mins away called back after 20 mins as it had not arrived they claimed it was 5 mins from destination. It finally arrived 25 mins after that. I can understand Covid has impacted businesses, But usually around here restaurant establishments give you the heads up of a potential delay they have no indication that this was going to arrive this late.
