Solid halal food in a town you wouldn't expect to see since we're very...non city like. I usually only see halal food from a cart and open late for the drunkies in the city haha good to know there's one a few mins from me when I'm craving, specially since they open past midnight! That's unheard of in Westwood, we're a dead town after 10pm IF THAT haha Food is crazy flavorful, I always get the lamb and chicken rice platter which is pretty big. I've never been able to finish the whole thing at one sitting. Fair warning, their hot sauce is freaken hot and I can handle hot. Definitely don't overdo it and ask for it on the side. Trust me! Chicken wings are actually marinated before they batter up which is awesome. You get a flavor bomb with the crunch and not just sad plain wings like many places do. Fries? Located in a lot with plenty of parking, Halal Gyro Master is a promising spot with plenty of seating inside. Workers are nice, and prices are reasonable. I got the chicken platter which was good. Chicken was plenty, fresh and well seasoned. I wish I could comment on the hot and white sauce, but it was missing from my order, even though I asked twice. The masala fries were fresh but bland. Ordered here Friday night. Walked in for pick up. They were not busy and took orders promptly. All in spent $25 for 2 gyro platters with fries and a single gyro. Got home and was dissatisfied with the meat and fries. They chop the lamb meat which was then overcooked and dry. This place is underrated for sure. I'm very familiar with Halal Guys, Juicy Platters, etc. This place is solid with friendly staff and an incredible deal. The chicken is different from what a typical shawarma place would serve. It tastes more like diced chicken with a tandoori color and flavor. If you're a fan of tandoori chicken, you'll like it. If you want something that's more middle eastern, then order the falafel or lamb gyro. The hotsauce is made in-house and extremely good. Reminds me of the original Halal Guys sauce but not as potent. White sauce also solid. Rice has a turmeric color and not overly seasoned, which is a good thing imo. Masala fries are wonderful and remind me of cajun fries. We will be back. Wife had the chicken gyro and had the same funk. They gave us a ton of Fries. Got a fountain soda and the coke had a funk to it also. Overall, wasted $25.00 and won't be back. This place will not last very long if they continue serving crap. Got the lamb gyro with fries dinner and it was terrible. If you like dried old chunks of mutton that is hard to chew than you will love this place. The fries are the string type fries that get cold real fast and have no potato taste like thicker fries do. Excellent food with large portions! The falafal patter is enough for two meals, for a very reasonable price. My friend had the lamb gyro and loved it.
