Door dashed a few items from here today, as we've been meaning to try it for a while now. Food arrived quick and I love that they use environmentally friendly packaging. We ordered: Entrees: Rice bowl (Gyro/Spicy Chicken) with added chickpeas & pickled onions / Chicken Pita w/avocado hummus Sides: red pepper/regular hummus w/chips Food had good flavor, I was annoyed that the regular hummus didn't come with any olive oil or paprika. The other two had good flavor, but there is a slight after taste. So I'm questioning if the hummus is made fresh daily or prepackaged. It's a little annoying that they up-charge for items you anticipate at a Mediterranean restaurant (olives, feta, chick peas, etc.) Still, I would go in person and give them one more shot, as the meal was decent. This has steadily become one of my favorite chicken and rice spots and easily the better option out of several other competitors. The location is in a booming center where lots of new retailers and restaurants are flocking to open. The space is modern and clean, with more than a handful of tables inside. With highly customizable options, there surely is something for everyone to enjoy. From kid sizes to gigantic platters, they have rice platters or salads, gyritos, and even sides like 3 kinds of hummus or 2 kinds of pita chips! My go-to order whether I'm pre-ordering for pick up online or standing at the counter and overlooking the assembly line, is usually their combination rice platter loaded with gyro and chicken, salad, turmeric rice, and a mixture of both their white sauce and orange sauce. The sauces are creamy and dill yogurt based with a hint of heat for the orange. I find their pita chips delicious deep fried and paired with the classic hummus. The avocado hummus is also quite tasty though more thick. The gyrito comes packed with all the protein and toppings and rolled to perfection as well, for those who prefer a wrap or burrito like treat. If you're into fries, these are crinkle cut and you can get them plain or loaded. Their dessert is A-OK, as choices are a brownie, cookie, or baklava...nothing too special. Very impressed by this soft opening. Huge prizes, great discounts, and very friendly staff. The line was out the door in the blazing heat but they managed it well. The manager handed out free water bottles and despite being 25-30 customers deep, I made it to the front of the line in about 10 minutes. To be honest, I didn't have high expectations coming in since this was a chain restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw all the different options you could choose from. For example, I'm used to gyro restaurants only offering the standard yellow rice but this place had choices between spicy and basmati turmeric. You can also choose between falafel and spicy/regular chicken. If Cava was reborn in the form of Halal food, this is what it would look like. I recommend the gyro/spicy chicken combo. Adding tzatziki sauce and hot sauce on top made for a mouth watering contrast of flavors to the entire dish. You're also getting great value here. A lot of the toppings here are free of charge including olives, cucumbers, and even chickpeas! I only paid about $6 for regular bowl since the soft opening was promoting 50% off everything, but even for $12, it's a huge portion. I have to knock down half a star since I saw a bug in the kitchen. There was a decent sized black spider that fell from the wall into a corner, and none of the employees noticed. The place was otherwise spotless, but I couldn't help but think about the spider accidentally making its way near the grills. I would consider coming back if I'm in Missouri city. I've tried this gyro republic twice so far. I ordered the falafel regular bowl with veggies. First time I tried it I thought it was okay but salty was still edible though. The second time I ordered gyro republic, my husband and I got two different bowls and it came out so salty- there were pockets of salt in the rice and wasn't evenly mixed, we had to spit some of it out and drink a whole water bottle. I think this place has potential they just need to mix their rice and lessen their salt levels. For now I will be going back to halal guys. read more

Not for me. The meat does not taste like authentic gyro lamb meat. It's a Mediterranean fusion Sub Sandwich Place with not a real Gyro no matter how I tried to mix and match the ingredients it just tasted processed. read more

Came here for a quick lunch. I've never been here before so I wasn't sure what to expect. But it as definitely a chipotle style but with Greek food. I ended up getting a pita sandwich with gyro meat and all the regular veggies fries. They sandwich was not bad. The fries were very undercooked. For what it was it wasn't horrible. Not 100% sure if I would be back. But it did what it was suppose to do and curb my hunger. read more

Price is good for amount of serving. Everything seems fresh. I just hope they that they are upfront on the ingredients that is extra pay, like $0.99 for feta cheese. Messy tables and food prep area!! I was excited to see this place open I love gyros and eat them all of the time I went into the restaurant on the 8th late afternoon well after lunch time The restaurant was not well kept at all. Floor was messy ..many of the tables had not been cleaned ...no customers at the table when I arrived. The food prep area was a mess. All of the lids for food storage were covered with food. It all looked very messy. Since the area was so messy I was concerned about how long the gyro meet had been sitting in the serving bin. After my sandwich was made I told the lady I changed my mind and didn't want it I told her that the restaurant was messy that I was scared to eat the food You would think a new restaurant would do a better job. Glad to have a new food option in Missouri City! We went for the soft opening, so they're still working out the quirks. Tried out the bowl and the pita wrap. They also have a gyrito option which is like a burrito and a loaded fries option which changes the base to fries. For the bowl, I did the spicy rice and salad. Also, chose the gyro meat for the bowl and the pita wrap. For toppings, hummus and cheeses are extra. Other toppings, are included. I liked the white sauce and the orange mild hot sauce. Went here for the first time try it out. Clean store. Food was ok. They are stingy on the portions and especially the sauce if you get it on the side. They don't even fill up a single ounce container. Taste was alright. I prefer Gyro Hut for less money and more food. read more
