    Daves #4: 1 Tender w/ Fries 9.99

Although there have been a few establishments that have come and gone, we are always curious and excited about what this unit will bring next, and Daves Hot Chicken does not disappoint. While we have mostly ordered through the drive-thru, this last time we dined in. Service is friendly and the food comes out decently fast for chicken. The chicken is always juicy and we love their sauce. If you are into the heat, Dave's has all the spicy you can handle. If you are in the Mo City area and you want an alternative to your regular burgers, definitely come on by!

This was my first time visiting this restaurant and I can honestly say that Dave's is overrated. The food was good but it tastes like every other chicken place just with a little more kick. The service was ok it took about 10 minutes to get our food. The cashier read us back our order 4 times. There was no ambiance because we drove thru drive thru.

Dave's Hot Chicken is one of the OGs when it comes to hot chicken. I've been on a hot chicken kick so I decided to finally check Dave's out and compare it to my faves. I do it for the people! This is the closest location to me and easy to get to. We came for a late lunch and it wasn't busy at all. Customer service was great. I even got a free drink (or shake) when checking in! My only complaint was how long it took to get the food. I came for the hot chicken so I got it in it's purest form, I got the tenders basket. It comes with two tenders, fries, pickles, white bread, and their signature Dave's sauce. The tenders were massive and with all the sides, it was filling enough for me. The long wait translated into hot, fresh food. The tenders were crispy, yet juicy inside. The chicken was seasoned great throughout. Not like some of these places that only season the breading. I got the hot level and it packed great flavor and heat. There was a slight hint of sweetness that I was not mad at all. This level had me sweating slightly, but was very enjoyable. I might go up next time out of curiosity. The fries were my favorite crinkle fries and they seasoned these well too. I washed it all down with some peach tea. This place was great and is definitely up there for one of the better hot chickens in the area. Their menu is small, but they do it right. I will be back!

I've tried Dave's hot chicken several times in San Diego. I happen to be in Sugarland visiting with a friend so when I saw this location without a long line of figured it be worth to give it a shot. Food: the food was absolutely amazing and really good. You can tell it was cooked right when you ordered as it was very fresh. The medium sauce is probably the way to go. Last time before this visit when I was in San Diego think I got hot and extra hot and it was absolutely too hot. So with all that being said medium is very enjoyable and very tasty as well. The fries are pretty good too. Value: two sandwiches with fries around $15. I think that's a bit overpriced. This meal should be around $10-$12 max. Or if they're going to charge $15 it should at least come with a drink. However they still get five stars as the food was absolutely amazing! I will definitely come back and try more of their locations in the houston area.

Sooo tasty. The seasoning was on point. Perfectly fried and seasoned. You can choose from different levels of hotness, or none. I wanted it again the next day Yummo!!!

I am so glad this business is here. I've seen many restaurants come and go in this spot, but I hope this one stays. First of all, I like the simplicity of the menu. There's not too many options so the customers in front of you won't take ever to place their order. We have always been greeted by a staff member and the staff has always had a great attitude. If we dine in, someone always comes over to see if we are enjoying our order. The restaurant is very clean, there's always an employee cleaning tables after guests. We typically order Dave's #2 - one slider will be hot and the other mild. The crisp is to perfection, nicely seasoned and it's consistent each time. It also comes with a side of fries, which are always fresh and never stale or soggy. They provide ketchup, honey, and their signature sauce. That sauce is great with the sandwich, tenders, and fries! Price - $14 - $16 per meal but it doesn't come with a drink. You'll need to order it separately so overall it makes your meal about $16 - $18, a little on the pricier side for fast food.

Not bad at all but it looks like food that I can make at home. The taste is okay and the hot level is not as hot as I would have gotten it. Customer service is decent but service is interesting. I saw one lady scratching her nose the people do not have on masks and I don't know... I can't say that I'm going to visit here again. It's actually my fault. I thought this was the wings place that we had at our Yelp event. Lee James hot wings. Turns out.. it's not.

    Waiting in drive through

The service was horrible I was stuck in a drive the for over 30 mins just trying to place an order before 10:00pm. When I arrived to the window to place my order they just told me to pull forward .

The chicken was bland, and even the Layne's sauce lacked flavor. I understand that Layne's Chicken Fingers is a Texas-based chain, but after this experience, I'll continue giving my business to its competitor, Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers. I had high expectations based on recommendations and reviews from friends and colleagues, but the food and service simply didn't live up to the hype. I love that this location is bright and cheery with a clean exterior and interior, as it is in a newly built area. Parking is aplenty in this plaza. The drive thru is also much welcomed, as the times I've driven thru the service is fast. Being a fast casual concept, they have plenty of seating inside and counter service. I typically take my order to-go and ordering in-app or at the counter have been good experiences. I like that you can order anything from a single scoop of chicken salad to a full meal and even tubs of your favorite flavor. I've tried almost every single flavor on the menu, and have come to a conclusion that my favorites are the Cranberry Kelli (with cranberries and almonds), the Fruity Fran (with apples, grapes, and pineapples), and the Classic Carol (with celery and secret seasoning). I can't say I didn't enjoy some of their savory flavors like Barbie Q (sweet yet smoky) or Sassy Scotty (ranch, bacon, cheddar), but do find them a bit too salty. They always include a nice amount of crackers to go with all the food so that's a plus. As for their quick chicks (tubs of chicken salad), they have been great for making meals out of it at home or for work. However, I've noticed that they have quite a short refrigerator life and have gone sour multiple times, over the course of just a few days. I also have seen bits of chicken that have a lot of off-putting texture (stringy, chewy, inedible, stretchy, white). So yes, you'll know its real chicken and it is fresh made/packed, but too much gristle or cartilage is gross. There are also bones in the mixture that are roughly an inch long...ouch. If you're serving some to your kids, be careful! Service at this location is super friendly and efficient! Great customer service and they'll have your order ready in minutes.

I also ordered a side of potato salad. Let's start with the positives. The potato salad was pretty good. It wasn't heavily seasoned, but adding a little seasoning made a noticeable difference, and I enjoyed it. The fish was another positive. I like my fish fried extra crispy, and they absolutely delivered on that. The texture was exactly what I was looking for. My only complaint is that the fish itself wasn't seasoned, but the hot sauce they provided definitely helped elevate the flavor. Now for the downsides. The shrimp was the biggest disappointment for me. It's coated in a different batter that's more similar to a tempura-style batter, and I simply wasn't a fan. The batter was very fragile and kept falling apart, leaving plain shrimp underneath that had virtually no seasoning. Also, I personally wouldn't consider these "jumbo" shrimp. They looked more like large shrimp to me. The fries were an even bigger letdown. Unfortunately, I don't have anything positive to say about them. They were extremely hard, tasted stale, and weren't enjoyable at all. I'm not sure if they had been sitting for a while or if the grease needed to be changed, but they were inedible for me and ended up in the trash. Thankfully, I ordered the potato salad because that ended up replacing the fries. My other concern was the value. The fish and shrimp combo alone was $19.99 before tax, and that didn't include the potato salad. For that price point, I expected better seasoning, fresher fries, and an overall higher-quality meal. Overall, this was my first visit, and I truly wanted to love it. I think my expectations were high because of all the positive reviews, but the meal simply didn't deliver for me. The fish had a great crispy texture, and the potato salad was enjoyable, but everything lacked of seasoning, the shrimp was disappointing, the stale fries, and overall value left me feeling underwhelmed.

I'm not sure if they were trying to catch up on other orders, or why it took so long to place an order. There were three screens displaying the menu. The most important one, displaying their Jolly Classics and the Pies & Sides, kept flipping between that and a promo ad. Slightly annoying, so I ended up taking a picture of the menu so that I could view it without the time pressure. Once I placed my order, I was given a pager. Even though I had a pager, they yelled out my number once my food was ready about 5 minutes later. It was fairly quiet inside - there were a few other people dining in, which appeared to be mostly contractors taking a lunch break. The Chickenjoy itself was very good. While not the best fried chicken in my book, Jollibee is certainly up there. We got one 10-piece bucket of original and one 10-piece bucket of spicy. Their spicy flavor actually packs some spice. The breading is very crispy and the chicken itself is always juicy on the inside. I always like to dip the chicken in the included gravy. The spaghetti is on the sweeter side, as I believe it's made with banana ketchup. The adobo rice was actually good and made a nice side accompaniment for our chicken. Jollibee is always a solid choice for fried chicken. While this location was a bit slow, other experiences I've had are usually fairly efficient.
