I loved the simple menu which made it easy to choose what to order. Both my husband and I ordered the number 3 which came with a slider and tender. I ordered a medium flavor while he ordered mild. I started with the tenders and drizzled some honey. It was absolutely delicious! Perfect blend of sweet. I do wish the medium had more spice though but I know for next time to increase the heat. It's cool to see a chicken place selling beer but the prices are ridiculous for the quality of food. 6-8 Chicken bites and 4 waffle sticks for 9.99. Dave's Hot Chicken is one of the OGs when it comes to hot chicken. I've been on a hot chicken kick so I decided to finally check Dave's out and compare it to my faves. I do it for the people! This is the closest location to me and easy to get to. We came for a late lunch and it wasn't busy at all. Customer service was great. I even got a free drink (or shake) when checking in! My only complaint was how long it took to get the food. I came for the hot chicken so I got it in it's purest form, I got the tenders basket. It comes with two tenders, fries, pickles, white bread, and their signature Dave's sauce. The tenders were massive and with all the sides, it was filling enough for me. The long wait translated into hot, fresh food. The tenders were crispy, yet juicy inside. The chicken was seasoned great throughout. Not like some of these places that only season the breading. I got the hot level and it packed great flavor and heat. There was a slight hint of sweetness that I was not mad at all. This level had me sweating slightly, but was very enjoyable. I might go up next time out of curiosity. The fries were my favorite crinkle fries and they seasoned these well too. I washed it all down with some peach tea. Let me start off by saying their chicken is delicious, and I'm someone who doesn't fancy chicken nor fried food. I'm not too sure what they're doing, but they're doing it right! I decided to treat myself today to some chicken sandwiches for the kids and I. I ordered online and when I got there I was handed someone elses' food. I told the employee that's not my order, and he was hesitant and confused and insisted it was my order. I told the employee what I ordered, he still didn't believe me and said "Your name is Jennifer right?" I said yes, but that's not my order. He opened the bag to read the order to me and I told him that's not my order. He finally accepted my answer and went to the back to find my order. When he came back, they never made my food and told me to wait as it shouldn't take too long. Sure, no problem. I get my food, go back to work to eat my lunch and on my third bite I see a black strand of hair. I go to pull the hair strand and it's cooked into the chicken crust batter. When I finally managed to pull that strand of hair out, I spotted another one--I pulled that out of the cooked crust batter as well. I called the location 2 times to let the manager know and no one picked up. I went to the website and tried to contact them that way, and the site wouldn't load. I'm not going to let my kids eat their sandwiches and I don't think it's fair for me to pay for these sandwiches if we can't eat them. However, I can't get a hold of anyone to help resolve the issue. I either take a loss and throw the sandwiches away or go out of my way to drive back DHC on a day I am available so I can speak to management about this. Is there a reason why a place that serves ONLY chicken tenders and fries has a wait that is like 45 minutes?

I've tried Dave's hot chicken several times in San Diego. I happen to be in Sugarland visiting with a friend so when I saw this location without a long line of figured it be worth to give it a shot. Food: the food was absolutely amazing and really good. You can tell it was cooked right when you ordered as it was very fresh. The medium sauce is probably the way to go. Last time before this visit when I was in San Diego think I got hot and extra hot and it was absolutely too hot. So with all that being said medium is very enjoyable and very tasty as well. The fries are pretty good too. Value: two sandwiches with fries around $15. I think that's a bit overpriced. This meal should be around $10-$12 max. Or if they're going to charge $15 it should at least come with a drink. However they still get five stars as the food was absolutely amazing! I am so glad this business is here. I've seen many restaurants come and go in this spot, but I hope this one stays. First of all, I like the simplicity of the menu. There's not too many options so the customers in front of you won't take ever to place their order. We have always been greeted by a staff member and the staff has always had a great attitude. If we dine in, someone always comes over to see if we are enjoying our order. The restaurant is very clean, there's always an employee cleaning tables after guests. We typically order Dave's #2 - one slider will be hot and the other mild. The crisp is to perfection, nicely seasoned and it's consistent each time. It also comes with a side of fries, which are always fresh and never stale or soggy. They provide ketchup, honey, and their signature sauce. That sauce is great with the sandwich, tenders, and fries! Price - $14 - $16 per meal but it doesn't come with a drink. You'll need to order it separately so overall it makes your meal about $16 - $18, a little on the pricier side for fast food. read more

That chicken was MOIST), Halal, great fries! I Cons: doesn't have much flavor other than spicy (definitely needs some sort of sauce to add some more flavor - the other toppings on the slider have the slider more flavor which is why I rated it higher) Not my favorite hot chicken spot, but is definitely the most convenient. She has been rude to my husband before who was quite taken back about the attitude and we witness her and another employee going at each other. This last visit a few days ago my husband wanted me to pick up some daves hot chicken before I got home from Target. As soon as the drive through was closed I knew I had to go inside and deal with that lady. While I stood in line, she was too busy ignoring all of us in line to order to handle all the doordash and uber eats orders. Its understandable cause they ordered first but she literally kept looking at the line of people and just turning her back to us like we are bothering her. She then looked at all the people waiting and announced "It's going to be a long wait. Everyone called out and we are short staffed" and I can see why. Now it's my turn to order. I saw that they have loaded fries with dave bites. Daves bites and loaded fries are new so I inquired about them. I simply asked "can you choose the level of spice with dave bites" All I got as a response was " you want fries with that" I asked again and she was like "Sure" in an annoyed voice. I said "Ok can I get the top loaded fries with mild dave bites" and she gave me a dirty look going "What? You said you wanted dave bites so do you want fries with that or not" I gave her a blank stare and literally told her "you know what, forget it." and just walked away. Dave's Hot Chicken is a hot chicken chain that a couple of friends started out in LA. Like most hot chicken joints, the menu is relatively simple. Dave's offers you a little more variety than the typical hot chicken joint though. You can mix and match sliders and tenders for example. And they have more than just fries as your options for your side. You choose your spice level and you get some delectable pickles and bread with your order. What stands out to me about Dave's is that while the chicken is hot, it has a nice sweetness to it too. The fusion of spicy and sweet works so well. You also have dipping sauces to choose from including their special sauce. All in all, just a five-star experience. read more

Typically places say their food is spicy but it turns out to be really mild. The second was the prices are way too high. Trust me, I go out a lot and I'm ok with paying big tabs but $60 for fast for four with only two drinks is crazy. 2 strips and fries was $13 per person with no drink. Back to the food. We had a little of every spice level. My daughter can't handle spice at all so she got the no spice option and really liked how it was seasoned. My son went with mild and enjoyed the flavor. Wife went hot and was impressed. I went with the extremely hot and think next time I'll go with the reaper. It had solid spice but I can definitely go hotter. Didn't try the sides other than the fries which were good and well seasoned. There's only two drink sizes, small and regular. Regular is still really small btw. Had to try this place as it recently opened nearby. I was at first hesitant due to the "love it or hate it" reviews on Yelp. My pictured combo cost me $15 (with a small fountain drink). I generally like spicy food so I went with the "hot" spicy level. Unlike the people stating you can't taste the spice, I definitely could. In fact, you can smell it on the chicken when you set your food down in front of you. We waited about 12 minutes for our food, restaurant mostly empty, drive through going though. Everything came out fresh and steamy hot. The fries were good, light Cajun seasoning. When you bite into the slider, which is the size of a normal sized burger, you get the Cajun spices immediately, then the assault continues with the lingering cayenne spice. The heat is mellowed out a lil by the tasty slaw. The batter sticks nicely, and the chicken is juicy. Try the tender with a drizzle of honey. Overall, we left satisfied. read more
