Not to mention that she looked like she just rolled out of bed and needed a shower! I was relieved to find out that she was not making my food. While I waited for my order, I was the only indoor customer at the time, I noticed that there were four tables that needed to be bussed and wiped down, but Carla went outside to smoke a cigarette with her boyfriend instead of cleaning up the lobby area & tables. The salad, with no meat, was good but not worth the $7.50. If I wanted any type of meat, the salad would have costed $10.00. After I ate my salad, still hungry, I then ordered a Gyro to go for $8.90. I had the #1 combo, lamb and beef gyro with a salad instead of fries. I had baklava for dessert. The Good: The salad was good. The veggies were fresh and it was a good combination of lettuce, feta, olives and onions. The gyro was also good. They were very generous with the meat, the tzatziki was very flavorful and I didn't find the onion to be too strong. The baklava was great. The cinnamon really came through and was one of the better pieces baklava I have had. The staff was friendly and the food was fast. The Bad: I wouldn't say any part was bad. My only critique is that the gyro meat could have a little more sear on it and that is being picky. Conclusion: I would definitely go back and recommend it to others. I love Gyros had my first one at 10 years old in Athens (cost about a dime imagine that :) ) Anyways, was over by my favorite asian place China Jada and saw Gryoz.. Decided a sandwich was in order. Staff super friendly and the Gyros.. practically perfect. You have to roast the meat and NOT dry it out and it is quite a balancing act. My sandwich was perfectly balanced meat, fresh onion and pita toasted just right. The bit of fries in the sandwich was surprising but worked really well. Kudos for not contaminating a proper sandwich with American ideas of lettuce etc.. Meat Onions Sauce... Thats the ticket Gryos worth it in Denver: Sahara Yanni's Gyroz Try it its worth it. The Gyros at Gyroz are absolutely delicious!! Some of the best around for sure! I would give it a 5 star just based on the food but unfortunately that is not the case. I fully understand that Gyroz is considered a fast food restaurant, how ever that is not a good reason for all the tables to be sticky and the floors be dirty and filled with straw papers. My husband and I just moved to the Denver area and I'm so glad we stumbled onto this place. We ordered take out. He had the gyro and fries and I had a chicken gyro, and we shared a side of falafel and a side of hummus with pitas. All of this for under 20 bucks!!! We love Greek food and we were both impressed with the high quality of this casual restaurant. The pitas were grilled and tasty, the gyro meat was excellent, the chicken was juicy and well seasoned, the hummus was good, and the falafels were hard to put down! Next time I'll be sure to order extra tzatziki sauce as well. To top it off, the friendly owners sent my husband off with a complimentary baklava. Worth a trip just to try those! The menu is small, mainly sandwiches and a salad, with a few sides and kid's options. The food is fresh, hot, and delicious. The staff is awesome! The usual menu item which is the gyros, average 7 out of 10 for me with the toppers being another drive thru south of Evans at Colorado Blvd (Crown Burger) or the King of them all ordered at a genuine Greek grocery store called Pete's north of Alameda at Cedar Ave. So this time around I ventured into the unknown and ordered a Greek salad expecting a back burner menu item with semi fresh ingredients. Thank goodness I was way wrong! Totally great and filling with a side of pita bread- totally nutritious for a drive thru in like a 2 mile area maybe. Holy gyro! This place is amazing! From the perfect meat to the creamy ztatziki to the lightly seasoned hummus and toasted pita bread... I can't say a single bad thing! The baklava is warm and dripping with honey and nutty flavor in flaky little layers. My husband and I each had a beef and lamb gyro and it really was just the best. I've been craving it since! The meat is so tender and seasoned so perfectly, they use the perfect amount, delicious tzatziki sauce and their fries are just really good thick cut and seasoned. Went thru the drive thru tonight... And was quite disappointed. I have come here in the past with my family often because of the good food and good service, but today the service via drive thru rubbed me the wrong way. As soon as i was told "order when you are ready", i began my order, pretty normal. What rubbed me the wrong way was after every item i ordered (i had a pretty large order) i was immediately cut off with "is that all", and not in a smiling nice way... sounded more like the female employee was annoyed that i was even ordering anything! After about 7 "is that all"s, i finish my order and pulled up to pay. My order was right and food was good... Absolutely delicious with authentic taste. If you're in the mood for a Gyro,this is the place to go! They do load them up with meat and French fries. There was grilled chicken pieces oozing out the pita so I saved it for my pup. Too much meat for my taste but He enjoyed it too! The texture of pita is crispy on outer edges, fluffy on the inside. Soaks up the juices of meat well and compliments on the Tzatziki sauce. My SO prefers without onions and tomatoes. The crispy shoe string fries are delicious and made to order. Which is so important for that quality freshness. Not too oily. Perfectly cooked fries that stay warm til a 15 minute ride home which is nice. The falafel is so great. The #1 beef and lamb Gyro is pretty awesome. Also, recommend the chicken sandwich with the lemon seasoning. The Greek yogurt with nuts and honey is also delicious and big enough for two. Menu is limited but it is fast, delicious, and cheap!! After the meal we met Yanni, the owner who is a recent transplant from Greece. Wow! Honestly, I was not really prepared for how yummy this was truly going to be. Sure, I had read some reviews and figured that it would be pretty good, but I have found that most Greek restaurants kinda miss "hitting the mark"...boy was I wrong! While it would be prudent to order a traditional gyro your first time in a restaurant called "Gyroz"...I found myself ordering the steak sandwich with fries. My husband quickly followed suit unable to tear himself away from the idea that I would be enjoying sirloin on my sandwich, he had to have it too! First bite - OH MY GOODNESS! The first morsel to past my taste buds was the warm, chewy, buttery pita. Next though came the salty/garlic beef that was casually laying next to my ripe tomato (side note: these sandwiches also come with white onion on them, but I opted out of it on my sandwich). Add in the tzatziki sauce and a few hidden gems (aka seasoned fries!!!!!) and you've got a masterpiece! Order this sandwich and I promise you, you will NOT be disappointed! My tongue simply danced with all of the flavor and texture combinations. I highly recommend this place and am looking forward to trying other items! I should also note that having been here twice now, I have noticed a salt issue. My first sandwich was out-of-this-world good. My second, was considerably saltier. Really good! I've had falafel from the easy to the west coast, and it was great! Although I think the falafel was pre formed patties, perhaps frozen, I still thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The pita was great, the tatziki sauce cool and refreshing. My brother got the gyro and loved it. Although there is a drive through, we went inside and sat down. There are booths, low tables, and high tables. It was a cute little spot although no one was in there. The people working were friendly and helped my brother figure out what to get.
