Love coming to Gyubee whenever there's an occasion to be celebrated. Came here to celebrate Father's Day. Joined the waitlist and waiting for 3-4 hours before we got a table. We were greeted by the host, and taken to our table. Our server was nice and got our orders in pretty quickly. The meats were good as usual, but the rib eye steak was on the chewy/tough side. They added sushi to their menu and it was okay, I wouldn't order it again as I'm really here for the ayce meat. My kids enjoyed everything and ate everything up. Got really thrown off by hearing about the Yelp wait list after my hubby stopped in a couple of months ago to see if we could get a table - we didn't and we didn't stick around stick around to wait. Few weeks back we were nearby and on a whim stopped by to see if we could get a table for 3. Must have been our lucky day because we were able to get a table immediately. First thing you notice when you walk in is the counter and a waiting area to the right. The space overall is fairly small compared to most Korean BBQ spots. They gave us a table but the fit was very tight - appeared to be more of a table for 2 than 4. We asked for another table but were told by our server (without checking) that there were no other available tables. Then saw them seat someone after us as a party of 2 at a larger table. Our server no said they had reservations, however, they don't take reservations and the Yelp wait list was closed that day, they were just accepting walk ins, which was explained when we initially arrived, so not sure why our server said this. Hubby got up and walked over to the front desk and asked for another table. They easily moved us near the back to a larger table so the 3 of us could sit comfortably. Let's get to the food! I have to say, I was really impressed by the variety of cuts of meats, but more so over the seasoning and sauces for each cut of meat. The cuts were all very tender and seasoned very well! However, not the ribeye when we were there. For a premium cut of ribeye this could have been much better. A bit disappointed with ordering the All Day menu as it included Ribeye. We would ask for 3 cuts, they were thin and small and our server would only bring out 1 piece at a time, despite the fact that we were a table of 2 adults and 1 kid. Each time we reminder her, she would smile and say yes, but never brought more until we cooked the 1 small piece we had. If am paying for a premium all day menu, not sure what the issue is here for this. We waited until another server passed by and then finally got more. Which brings me to the ordering process. I prefer having an app to order from as the server did not bring everything we asked for and even brought items that we never asked for but she heard us talking about while reading over the menu - this was extremely awkward at a place that charges you if you order too much and don't eat. Went back here twice so this will cover two reviews. First time was over a month ago when they still had the Wagyu menu. It was good but not entire site it was worth the extra price. I probably would do it again but it's gone now. Went back a second time and realized this is likely the main gyubee in toronto as new things or unique things start here or only happen here. They were the first to have sushi which has since been rolled out to the other locations. Same for the crispy fish. Of note, we are huge miso marinated steak people and we order 15-20 each time we come. They marinate it less sweet here which I don't prefer. Gyubee is one of my favourite bbq spots! The meat is good quality and as an ayce spot it's really good value. The kalbi and steaks in particular are good, but as a garlic lover I love the garlic beef. There's a decent selection of other items, and I would def get a creme brulee to end the night. Atmosphere wise, it's a pretty standard bbq setting, nothing special I'd say. Service is also really good some nights, but since they're so busy it can def get backed up. Try to join the waitlist super early cause it fills up fast. Despite the long wait though I always am happy to come back, so five stars read more

There have been a few times the online list said no wait time, but when you walk in, it's an average 30-40min wait time for a table (party of 3+) Hard to find surface parking during business hours, but there is an underground parking in same plaza. Gyubee is easily one of my favorite spots for Japanese BBQ in the GTA. The food is always flavorful, consistent, and satisfying. I do wish they had iPad ordering like some other AYCE spots, as it can sometimes take a bit of time to get a staff member's attention. That said, once the food starts arriving, it's great. Our server, Aria, was very sweet and accommodating. Great service. She brought us one of their new menu additions to try: pickled radish. It was light, refreshing, and a perfect palate cleanser between heavier bites. We ended up ordering it every round afterward. My personal favorites include the pumpkin soup, bibimbap, prime kalbi, sake steamed clams, Nagoya style chicken wings, and of course, their iconic crème brûlée to finish off the meal. It's a popular spot so be prepared to wait for a table - for our party of 6 on a Saturday night, the wait was almost an hour and a half. Also make sure to have cash or a Canadian debit card otherwise you'll need to pay a visit to the ATM, which wasn't working when we were there. Fortunately, there is a TD bank right across the street. While they took down my number, they didn't contact it to let us know the table was ready. Fortunately, we were waiting in their waiting area, which has plenty of seating. But even though I answered yes, when they called my name, they kept yelling it - not sure if they could hear us. All the cuts of beef and pork we got were great quality. The squid, mushrooms, and rice cakes were all also delicious. Our server Ryan was very nice and helped check with the kitchen on some orders that hadn't made their way to our table. We ended up getting mostly everything except the last order of lamb, which we just gave up on. They came by to change the grill decently often, but almost always at the awkward timing of us having recently placed some new cuts of meat on the grill. The service was fast and swift. The meats were nicely marinated and the portion was good. These food are highly recommended to order, so yummy: Crème Brûlée, Soy marinated Short Rib, beef brisket, ice cream. I went there during Halloween season, and they had some cute decorations. Food: Food was great! Honestly, if you're coming to the GTA, going to Gyubee is definitely a staple must-go. I've been to the downtown locations quite a few times but I definitely prefer this location. The food is the same yummy meats BUT the service is what made it great :) I believe they offer a 5% discount if you're bringing cash, so make sure to pay via cash! Otherwise, it was $41.99 cad (before taxes) during a weekend dinner. The only thing is that if you're going to dinner, I can't stress this enough: CHECK AND JOIN THE WAITLIST! They get super busy and wait times are often 2+ hours for a dinner table during peak times. Also, don't forget to come and check in with the hosts around 15 minutes before your time period actually hits to make sure you're actually keeping your spot! Service: Amazing service! Everyone was super attentive and our food came out super quickly. The staff was professional and nice, answering any and all questions that we had. Gyubee is definitely one of if not the best Japanese bbq in Toronto! Especially considering the quality of meat, the service, and the variety. I've tried pretty much every item on their menu, and ill never get sick of it. The meat comes quick and the staff is very attentive, will change your grill 2-3 times without you even needing to ask. On weekends it'll run you about 60 per person, but honestly considering how good all the dishes are definitely worth it. Thankfully I was paying attention and was okay with a later dinner. We went to celebrate something g with our daughter. It was a feast, with rapid changing out of grills and constant replenishment of whatever we wanted. We found the beef to be the best overall. The pre-cooked chicken wings were a hit too. Salmon was disappointing. The mushrooms, corn, lettuce and pineapple were nice additions. There is a one hour and 45 minute time limit. They only take debit or cash, with a cash discount. It's a very popular AYCE "yakiniku" restaurant chain in Toronto. If you're a meat lover, you'll definitely love this restaurant! Unlike some dishonest AYCE restaurants, which will provide the food slowly or lose some orders on purpose, Gyubee brought us the food we ordered very efficiently. And they wouldn't "forget" to bring some ingredients we order. In addition, the quality of food was very high. I particularly enjoyed the "garlic beef" A clean net is also essential for health.
