I've been coming to Shinta Japanese BBQ for years, and it's one of those places that never lets me down. The food is consistently good, the service is always prompt, and the whole experience feels reliably satisfying every time. The all‑you‑can‑eat dinner is a great value if you love meat, but I really appreciate that they now offer a lunch combo--perfect when I want something a little lighter but still delicious. My rule here is simple: always go for the beef. You won't regret it.

Great service by waiter Kaylee and I thank her for her kindness. I would highly recommend this place for you if you're a steak person

Really liked the vibe of the place--clean, comfortable, and inviting. The Silver Wagyu AYCE offered a great variety of beef cuts, and the marbling on the meats made them especially tender and flavorful. they were quick to bring the food and platters out after ordering with the waiter.

Amazing experience here on a freezing Monday. The food was fresh, high quality, and every bite was delicious. The meat quality was excellent: fresh, incredibly flavorful, and grilled perfectly. Every cut was tender and juicy. The other dishes were well-seasoned and complemented the BBQ beautifully. Even the sauces and appetizers were thoughtfully prepared and nicely balanced. Great value as well~ $42.99 per person for the all-you-can-eat BBQ, with generous portions and plenty of variety. Definitely worth it for the quality and experience. A special shout-out to Steven, our server, who truly made the night exceptional. He was attentive, friendly, and helpful, always making sure we were comfortable and enjoying our meal. His recommendations were spot-on, and his service was professional yet warm. Highly recommend Shinta, especially if you're lucky enough to be served by Steven!

Had lunch here recently and was pleasantly surprised! The place is super clean and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Love the location which gives you a nice view overlooking the parking lot and roads through big windows that let in a ton of natural light -- it gives the space a really bright and open feel. I went for the lunch special buffet and it was a solid experience overall. The pepper beef was definitely the standout -- flavorful, tender, and perfectly cooked. The creamy corn was also really tasty. I wasn't a big fan of the fish options, but everything else made up for it. Would definitely recommend checking this spot out, and I'll absolutely be going back myself!

The ice storm definitely didn't keep my friends and I indoors over the weekend here in Toronto. I'm so glad my gf brought me here as a foodie adventure. We opted for the "black ayce menu option" there honestly was plenty of variety considering it was the cheapest ayce option. The appetizer menu wasn't massive but hey we were here for all the protein ! Normally i'm not even someone who is too crazy about grilling cuts of beef as that's not really my fave protein but surprisingly all of their cuts of beef available for this ayce was soooo good. I'm pretty sure it's to do with how they cut it so thinly! I literally didn't even need to dip any sauces on the side because the flavours just coming out from grilling it was absolute perfection! I obviously logged out on the lamb, had plenty of shrimp and ordered alot of king oyster mushroom and zucchini. Had multiple orders of the clams too. Something that i really appreciated about this place was they give you a full blown 2 hrs to eat comfortably unrushed. This place does get busy so you would need to make resos. They only take cash or debit. They have a pretty big parking lot outside, washroom is a bit small but clean!!! Staff is exceptionally really friendly and their english was really good too!! Make sure to order the melona dessert after !!! It's part of the ayce too so eat as many as you can . I would definitely recommend others to come here and i would definitely come again when im in town again !!!

3.5 STARS I was at Shinta over the weekend for a birthday dinner. We opted for the cheapest ayce menu. Some meats were a bit tough, but some were pretty good like the kalbi. The sides were mediocre. The cold noodles were soggy, and the bibimbap was not good like before. The kimchee and pickles cucumbers were actually decent. The ready to eat item was the deep fried bun in condense milk. Even with the seating limit of 2 hrs, I felt the grill was very weak, it cooked the super thin cuts of meat quick, but thicker cuts like steak, sweet soy kalbi, and thick pork belly took forever to cook; or any item wrapped in aluminum foil. Service was very good, our server was quick and was always coming back to see if we needed anything or to remove any empty plates. It was not busy on a Sunday dinner service, maybe since there are more popular Japanese bbq places around the area.

1st and would recommend... will definitely come back, waiting time is fast and service is fast

I'd recommend Shinta for anyone craving a quality Japanese BBQ meal. This is one of my favorite spots for Japanese BBQ in the city, particularly because they offer great wagyu options, and an overall wide selection of menu items. However, the dessert selection here was just limited to a choice of either soft serve vanilla ice cream or a Melona popsicle. While not terrible, a bit more variety would have been nice. They have three all-you-can-eat menu tiers: Gold, Silver, and Black. The Gold option offers the most premium cuts of meat, which is perfect for those looking to indulge, while the Black being more basic, but still offers a solid selection. Like most AYCE places, prices are a bit higher Friday-Sunday & Holidays. The service was good despite some dishes mistakenly being brought to the table a few times. The staff was efficient, and we had our grill changed regularly without needing to ask, ensuring a great dining experience. I visited Shinta Japanese BBQ on a Thursday evening and was fortunate to be seated right away with a table for two. It's worth noting that reservations are usually recommended, especially for larger groups. There's plenty of free parking, and the restaurant is wheelchair accessible.

My new favourite spot for Japanese BBQ and trust me I've tried them all. Meat selection and presentation 10/10 Service and ambience in the restaurant is really good too the staff are all friendly and quick!

Food is yummy and lots to choose from. Service is ok. We have some issues with language as I think they speak Mandarin but I don't speak Mandarin. Ambiance is good. Spacious and good control of the smoke.

SHINTA is the BEST all you can eat bbq in my mind!! We won't get disappointed with them:) They have three different sets of food options, we choose the black set ( the cheapest set : $42.5/ppl). We still have many choices for the meats, snacks, desserts we love the beef tongue and beef short ribs the most! Their service is so amazing too, they serve food so quick and won't miss your order! They will change the bbq net when see yours are dirty! The restaurant has lots of seats and we can walk in every time:) but of coz please reserve your table when you go on weekends or busy hours

From being welcomed to our server providing above and beyond professional and friendly service, my family of 4 all loved this place! Very clean and bright interior design. Noise level was enthusiastic. The food was delicious. The service was great. Our waitress, Jenny, was superb! She is knowledgeable of the dishes when we forgot what type of meat it was on the table. She gave her feedback on selections for us. Aside with the service, the food was fresh and flavorful. Handful of selections to choose and eat. My husband decided the Gold package and we both were very satisfied with the quality and quantity of food we ate. If I ever return, I'll be sure to revisit this place! Side note, this place only takes debit and cash! Thank you for accommodating visitors like me.

Came here with some friends for the omakase special meal…read more Such a lovely overall standard omakase experience and meal. The highlight for me was probably the set of four starter appetizers, they were flavourful, delicately prepared and perfect way to start the meal. I liked the slightly pickled dish with cucumbers the best. We also had sushi prepared with fresh seafood. The rice was probably my favorite compared to other places I've been. It was perfectly seasoned rice, warm and cooked to have just the right texture, not overcooked and not undercooked. The rice held up well when picked up by hand and complemented the flavours of the fish. Finished the meal with a matcha flavored pudding flan type dessert which had deep matcha flavours. If you're a fan of matcha, you'd probably enjoy it too. All in all, the meal was enjoyable, the torched tuna sushi was probably my favorite sushi of the set and my least favorite was the egg/eel, I was expecting a sweet egg at the end so it unexpected.

The restaurant is super quiet and they offer great quality of food with great service, and the price is expensive if you choose to order sukiyaki set (expect $80+ per person). You can choose between sushi sets at different price level or sukiyaki from the menu. This suits the need of our group given some people prefer sushi but some couldn't eat raw food. They also offer a couple of limited appetizer dishes such as tempuras and unagi don. If you booked the sukiyaki table and want to order sushi, you need to call them in advance to notify which sushi sets you want. We tried the sashimi and sushi courses at $55, which included miso soup, 5 pieces of sashimi, 8 pieces of sushi (squid, toros, salmon, scallop etc.), handroll and matcha or black sesame icecream at your choice. The sushi is smaller than average, suitable for small eaters. The course is totally worth the money. I love every piece of sashimi and my favourite sushi include the scallop and the squid. Everything was super fresh. The dessert was also having the perfect sweetness level for me. In addition, we also tried the sukiyaki for two ($110), which includes mushrooms, cabbages, great quality of Angus beef, yummy tofu and udon. Again, all the material was with great quality and super fresh. I especially liked the sweet sukiyaki soup, the tofu and the udon. We also ordered some shareable dishes including chawanmushi, unagi don and cod. Cod was cooked to perfect (soft and flavourful), and unagi don had quite decent portion. It would be better if the unagi could be softer from my personal opinion. Chawanmushi was mediocre. Overall, I strongly recommend this restaurant to fan of Japanese cuisine. It meets different people's needs by offering both cooked and raw food options, and the sushi set definitely has great value for money.

Ordered tempura vegetables and shrimp with 6 pieces total was only around $9. This tempura tasted truly delicious compared to other pricier restaurants! They were very accommodating with changing spicy salmon roll to dynamite roll in the dinner sushi sets for me since I don't eat spicy food. I would love to try their signature rolls next time to see if they're the same. I would come here again for lunch and check them out. -1 star because: The sushi to rice ratio is a little too much so I had to take some off unfortunately. The rolls were not just basic rolls, they were packed with flavour, texture (tempura bits) and had an excellent rice-meat ratio. The salmon terriyaki portion was amazing. Just loving the atmosphere here…read more As for the food, don't expect it to be a "traditional Izakaya" here, but that's not a bad thing. They do the "traditional" dishes with a twist / fusion. For example, the black cod is usually feel heavy with the miso based sauce, but they added some acidity to the sauce and they made the black cod taste rich and light (not to mention the black cod was perfectly cooked); traditionally the Brussels Sprouts would be finished by tossing balsamic vinegar over it. Sometimes that would still feel heavy. Instead, they tossed it with strawberry vinaigrette. So the acidity is very light and not too sweet. We finished our meal with the Yokai Signature Maki. Yes, they SHOULD be proud of this Maki enough to put their name on it. They hit it on the nail with the taste profile. I have a zero tolerance with spiciness, so they put the spicy mayo on the side, and I encouraged my wife to dip the Maki with it. She confirmed my suspicion that the spicy mayo took the maki to another level. We definitely will come to try other dishes. Edit: they comped us a slice of Matcha Cheesecake. While it is still not my cup of tea, but I was very impressed with how good it taste. My "dislike" is with cheesecakes because they feel heavy. Though it is still on the heavy side for me, but as soon as I spoon in a bit of the strawberry sauce, it just lightened up the whole thing. They have successfully amazed me with how well they play with taste.
