Decent food compared to others in the area, including seafood and sushi options. Wish there were more alternatives than red meat, only 1 chicken option. Spacious. Service was a bit slow. There were pockets of time where a bunch of staff were chatting, maybe team meeting. I waited and asked the next staff I saw for the bill and they seemed to have forgotten about it. I had to ask a second time. The desserts (non ice cream options) are not that good. The red bean is the only part that was good.

3.5 stars. Came here for a birthday lunch ayce. $30.99, my friend's bday and so we got 10% off the menu. The lunch menu is very limited and the meat was too thinly sliced. Thick hot pot style beef, so it felt like we were eating beef bacon. It was okay for what you got. The sushi rolls were good, but the torched sushi had a ton of rice. If you post on your social media right now you can get a free mocktail, it was lemonade with blackcurrant syrup. It was super sweet, I kept adding water. The service was really good. The waiter and waitress kept checking on us and knew when to bring the birthday cake. I did not even have to ask and they cleared the table for us. It was nice inside too. Maybe the lunch set menu has nicer meats. Will try next time. Hopefully the meats are better and not so thin.

First time coming here with my parents. We came here on New Year's, and I can say it's pretty good and comparable to Gyuhito. (For me, both places are great, but here they have sushi and sashimi.) This made my parents fall in love with the place. The service was satisfactory; however, as they got busier, our orders got delayed or missed. I recommend not coming on special occasions, as you can't expect the service to be 100% or even 50%. I would also recommend making reservations to be on the safe side. If you have a baby and plan to bring them along, it is difficult as there isn't space for strollers. As for the noise level, it is decent, not too loud. I would definitely be coming back again.

My friend came to Gyumomo once and took my husband and I here tonight. The beef were marinated nicely! The best part was they don't all taste the same flavour as some other places. Not too salty, just right. The salmon sashimi were very fresh. The spicy seafood foil is a must try! The spice level was just right -mala style! They serve cold noodles, handmade brown sugar rice cake. The tako was tasty and the salmon tataki. The staff were nice and friendly. Ambiance was nice and comfy. Even on a Friday they don't rush you to leave. Overall, a very nice dining experience! Already telling my parents about this new spot!

Great service and food. Variety and quality, you get the best of both worlds with sashimi and grilled meat. Also really enjoy their salad.

It saddens me to write this review because this was one of our favourite sushi spots in Pickering…read moreand one that we kept on our regular rotation during Covid to make sure we did our part to help them get through it. Unfortunately, over the past year, we have come here less and less because of "shrinkflation". I understand the price of everything has gone up and I can somewhat stomach that but when I'm paying more and getting less, I struggle to justify it. Sadly though, when we came here last night to get a takeaway, we were really disappointed that the quality of food has also taken a steep decline. The fish was not fresh and the rice had a musty smell and flavour to it. Even the spicy salmon rolls and california rolls left a lot to be desired. Overall, everything just lacked freshness and flavour. Needless to say, I did not enjoy my meal and I will likely be looking for a new sushi spot. The owners are such wonderful people though and they have fed us so well over the years that it just breaks my heart to see this decline. I hope it can get turned around.

Since it was a weekday, it wasn't too busy and our order was ready in about 20-30mins. The owners were so nice and gave us lots of variety and even gave us extra pieces! We really enjoyed the different types of sushi like the seaweed salad rolls, eel rolls, surf clam sashimi, octopus sashimi and sushi. Everything was fresh and tasty. The restaurant probably has around 10-15 tables that can fit 4 people (more if the tables are combined). Prices are great and the customer service is excellent! Owners are super humble and were thankful for us supporting their business. So glad to have found a sushi spot in the area. We'll be back! Thank you Sakada Sushi for the great experience.

Finally a Japanese Sushi Restaurant that serves proper Sushi Rice…read more We were getting frustrated with ordering from Chinese/Korean run Japanese restaurants or worse Grocery Store sushi. At best they would rate a 2 star. There were no good sushi to be found in Durham Region. Bold statement but true. Kobo has been around forever. We used to go here weekly when it was a fish market. Fresh salmon daily. I'm not sure why we stopped when it turned into a restaurant. For years I thought it changed ownership. But it hasn't. We tried their sushi yesterday and it was delicious. Definitely a perfect score. This is what I always remembered what sushi tasted like but couldn't find. We can have sushi and Japanese food more often now! So excited.

Most of the dishes ordered for the night is passable... not bad.. but will I order those again.. not really... and Would I ask my friends to come and try... oh not really... The only thing I enjoy is Kobo Omakase Sushi as I am always a sushi fan. Those sushi they serves here at Kobo are bite size which is smallish...the fish are fresh and tasty. I am not too crazy about the deco...as I do believe that where you eat does enhances the totally experience... and if I pay Kobo prices, I do expect some ambiance! The services though really sweet and attentive.
