We couldn't be more pleased with the service we received from Advantage Mechanical in the installation of our heat pump/furnace system. JR is highly skilled and qualified in all aspects of the HVAC trade. He was able to remove our old system and install the new one in one day. The attention to detail was outstanding with no corners cut in the installation. Ductwork was fabricated and precisely fit to adapt the new furnace/air handler, and carefully sealed at all the joints. The refrigerant system lines were purged and cleaned with a solvent prior to a full deep vacuum being drawn prior to final charge. Once the system was running all adjustments were made to both gas pressure to the furnace and blower speeds for the air handler fan. They placed a runner to the outside to keep from tracking dirt inside the house, another attention to detail. They're pricing was also very competitive. They are run in an "old school" manner placing quality and ethical service first. We highly recommend Advantage Mechanical for any HVAC related work.

The first visit didn't clear the clog, but the next day another technician came out and patiently explained everything. Both were courteous, on time, and really knew their stuff. And while Yelp loves photos, trust me -- nobody wants to see what was blocking my drain. That's a whole different genre. Bottom line: Boothe's brings personality and professionalism to plumbing. Both systems were functioning just fine, EXCEPT for some reason after the technician left the Honeywell Provison Series 8000 thermostat started to malfunction. The next day it just went blank. (Hmmm.....coincidence or causation?....just saying) The technician came back and said the thermostat was defective and he could change it out then and there as he had one ($590) in his truck. I figured it was under warranty so why not and the technician said I would "get my money back, well most of it". RED FLAG - I should have asked for an explanation. So my card was charged for $590. The office just called and said they credited back to my card $343! and they pocketed $247!! (for "shipping and labor"). So be wary and very careful if you have hired them, but if you are not locked into a Maintenance Agreement I suggest you call another HVAC company.

First time out a year ago to perform some routine service on an old carrier infinity series unit, made some simple repairs and we were up and running in short time. While they were out service tech suggested thinking about replacement in the future as unit was 16 years old. Requested an estimate to replace, Eric came out and did a site survey and provide a proposal to replace unit. Fast forward to year later the unit was under high stress due to prolong heat wave. Eric stuck by the proposal he gave me a year earlier and the crew was out in quick time to replace. Not a typical project as it involved a crane to get condenser unit to the roof of a four story building. The install team were professional and extremely knowledgeable. Performed the work at a high quality level and were done in a day.

John was very polite and immediately told me my HVAC closet smelled because a mouse died in there. He also called a relative while at my place and on the way home to give me their suggestions on dealing with the smell, which has nothing to do with HVAC and is above and beyond in my opinion. Yes, I did have to pay the $100 fee to come out. I paid in cash to not have to pay the 10% processing fee. I was fine with paying this to have someone come out so quickly, and on a Sunday. He answered my questions via text Immediately even on weekends. He is honest and recommended a dehumidifier be attached to the AC unit. It was installed by his team members and they were outstanding. The cleanup was above and beyond my expectations. When complete, they asked if I had any questions and explained in detail what they did. He coordinated the contract with an electrician. I…read morehad Jim Winters come out and he recommended an added trunk line under the house to feed the far rooms. It wasn't cheap, but wow, they did a great job. A couple years later, I was adding a cold air return from our master bathroom, and I needed some duct pieces. I called them up and they fabricated the necessary pieces while I was standing there. I have had terrible service from Southern Maryland Heating and Air, and had to fix nearly everything they touched, but Winters technicians are sharp and they do great work. Do yourself a favor and have Winters do it right the first time. Highly recommend!
