For context, I called around to several shops and ended up receiving a quote for $745. When I went in to question the pricing with Nick, the quote suddenly dropped to $1,247. That's a huge difference for the exact same job - 32% to be exact. If there's that much "flex" in the price, it really makes you question how the original number was justified in the first place. At the same time, I was told they don't inflate estimates which didn't line up with what I experienced. The whole interaction felt uncomfortable and undermined my trust in their pricing transparency.

Perillo refused to refund the cost of the defective battery they sold me. They have the worst customer service of any service station I've ever worked with. Will never go back.

In the past, our caregiver has picked up our car and I have paid for the service online. No problem. However, without telling us ahead of time, Perillo apparently changed their pickup policy, such that they no longer accept remote payments. Because they did not tell us about this "new policy," we did not make arrangements for our caregiver to be able to pay when she arrived to pick up the vehicle. This created a problem, because our caregiver was due to pick up our young children from school. We explained the situation to Perillo and asked them to release the car so our caregiver could pick up the children. In a word, their response was heartless. I offered to pay over the phone, and I offered to immediately leave my office downtown to come pay the bill. Perillo refused any of these solutions, instead explaining to me over the phone--"as a courtesy"--the details of their policy change. Two employees told me there was nothing they could do, while they supposedly tried in vain to reach someone with authority to authorize a remote payment. They did not say whether this was possible, and could not even tell us how long it would take to find out. Ultimately, Perillo never did anything to release the vehicle without payment. Our caregiver was able to leave only after I made arrangements through our credit card company for her to be able to pay on site. Bottom line: Perillo blindly adhered to an unannounced new policy, and would not budge to accommodate a longtime customer whose kids were left waiting at school.

What did I just give him $4,000 for it? Ended up bringing it to another mechanic and found out he lied to me he put aftermarket converters the mechanic that I took it to the second time told me to parts or under $300 that he installed so you're telling me I just paid $3,700 for labor and I'm still going to fail the emissions.
