My experience with Steve and Alden at North Shore Auto Rebuilders has been by far the best experience I've had dealing with Body Shops for over 30 years. I had a major single car accident that was MAJOR. From the initial appointment quote and finished product on our Mercedes Benz - the process was flawless. They communicated proactively, know the industry better than anyone I've spoken with and more importantly have never been the highest quote we've had to get. If you own a german luxury or performance car - (Mercedes, BMW, Porsche) protect that investment with a family owned operated and hands down most knowledgeable and efficient operation. They fixed our Mercedes impeccably. NOT JUST FOR BODY WORK - DETAILING AND APPEARANCE MAINTENANCE IS THEIR HIDDEN GEM. Most importantly - North Shore provides seasonal detailing services - which had thought ceramic coatings were expensive and overhyped and was educated on what an inexpensive and valuable protective layer that provides showroom shine AND if you're a weekend detailer like me their ceramic coating keeps cars cleaner longer. And if you DON'T detail but take it to a machine wash or assembly line hand wash - Talk to Steve about Ceramic coatings - he dispells the myths and the service is worth EVERY PENNY. Who likes to get their car repaired? Nobody. Do people trust auto repair shops? No. So, a repair can be stressful if there is no trust. I had clipped our Mini and a plastic sidewall got loose and had to be repaired. I called North Shore Auto Rebuilders and David answered the phone. I sent some photos and then drive the car over and was met by Alden. He looked at the damage and said the part should be replaced and why and how much it should cost. A few days later, I drove the car into their very organized shop and waited in their office while they repaired the car. The office is clean, organized and I heard them talk on the phone with respect and empathy. Their bathroom was clean and instrumented with on off lights. They take their business seriously. My repair was fairly small and straightforward. If you cannot do the small things well, how can you do the big things? Consider this local business when your car needs TLC. read more

From start to finish, I felt taken care of by NSAR. They checked me in promptly when many other shops were booked out... and it's not because they aren't busy. They have a warehouse full of cars and yet were able to get me an estimate and move my car repairs forward expediently. I first encountered Alden who got back to me very quickly and explained the process in working with insurance and the likely timeline for repairs. My car was a special situation that required a Mercedes certified repair shop (which they are.) I always felt that they were more concerned with me getting the best outcome than with making a quick buck. They referred me to an attorney that specializes in auto insurance disputes in the event that the settlement and repairs were not fully covered to my satisfaction. At the end of the day, the car damages caused the insurance to total the vehicle. I did get everything I needed from NSAR and the insurance company. I even got to have a chat with Steve (the owner) when I stopped by to clean out the vehicle. If you need a shop in Chicago, look no further. I will definitely use them again if I am ever in need. I HIGHLY recommend North Shore Auto Rebuilders for any bodywork needed. I have brought two of my vehicles here after mixed experiences with Euro Collision, Mancuso Glenview, and Autohaus Northbrook. I am a German car enthusiast and have owned EVERY marque available in the United States. As a Mercedes-Benz and Porsche owner, I appreciate North Shore's certification from those manufacturers. More importantly, they live up to that standard. Repairs to both my 2017 Porsche Cayenne and 2019 Audi Q8 have been flawless. You would never know that there had been any prior damage. Even with supply chain issues, they are timely and are focused on getting you your car back as quickly as possible. Steve and Aldin are very friendly, personable, prompt, and honest. I have brought them too much work for my taste, but they always make me feel like my vehicles are in good hands. This was my first experience at North Shore Auto Rebuilders. I took in my 2005 Mitsubishi Evo 8 MR to get some work done including right side rear side swipe repair, rear keyed scratch, a couple of door dings on both sides, respray of the rear and front bumpers and also paint correction. --- ZERO Stars - Deception - Dishonesty - Lack of Professionalism On July 28, 2021, Aldin Nusinovic at North Shore Auto Rebuilders took pictures of my car and provided an estimate for $3255.23, and over the next few days I called to discuss the estimate with Aldin; during our discussion he mentioned that I would also have to pay more than my deductible once my insurance company make their payment. However, once I talked to an insurance adjuster through my insurance company I was told that the estimate from Aldin was not only extremely above industry standards but North Shore Auto Rebuilders were charging for repairs that did not need to be completed and also adding additional hours for labor that was not needed. After discussing this with Aldin, he immediately became defensive and said negative things about my insurance company and even mentioned that his family has had the same insurance company for over 25 years, which he has been trying to get them to switch to another insurance company.  After this discussion I was not comfortable doing business with Aldin or North Shore Auto Rebuilders. I decided to research several other body shops and talk to my insurance adjuster again.  I went to another body shop on August 9, 2021 for an estimate and it was determined that the estimate of $3255.23 and the amount above my deductible provided by North Shore Auto Rebuilders was not only outrageous, but deceiving. I am beyond thankful to the other auto body repair shop for their honesty and expertise. They were not only genuine, but were able to figure out what was needed without overcharging me.  This body shop did an amazing job and because of their honesty and knowledge, my car looks stunning. North Shore Auto Rebuilders and Aldin should be ashamed of trying to deceive me. I am so happy that I did not do business with them and would NOT recommend North Shore Auto Rebuilders to anyone. Also, I'm not sure why, but on August 22, 2021, I received a survey request from "SCI Customer Satisfactory" asking me to rate the collision repair service I received at North Shore Auto Rebuilders even though I did not receive any repair service from North Shore Auto Rebuilders .  Below is the survey request I reviewed. "Thank you for choosing North Shore Auto Rebuilders to complete the collision repair work on your 2020 Mercedes-Benz C-class. We hope that your experience with the staff at North Shore Auto Rebuilders was truly enjoyable. We are committed to providing you with excellent customer service and vehicle repair quality. We have been involved in two vehicle accidents (both not our fault) in the past two years, and both times, North Shore went above and beyond to repair our Mercedes C 300 coupe. The most recent time was earlier this month, and our car looks exactly the way it did before the accident. Also, North Shore is a certified Mercedes-Benz collision center - super important. This most recent time, the insurance company of the person who hit me was super annoying, saying that our car could be repaired with "basic parts." I really don't understand all the car lingo, but I absolutely trusted Steve to take care of things. He handled EVERYTHING with the insurance company -- explaining to them why our car couldn't be repaired with cheap parts, he did all the back and forth with them on billing, etc. Being involved in these stupid accidents is a huge pain, and Steve makes things easier for you. And you get your car back looking like it was never involved in an accident!! Steve and the other guys at North Shore are all super nice, professional, and great at what they do. My Honda Civic had some minor damage from a hit-and-run in a parking lot. (Grr.) Not serious. but the bumper had become separated from one side of the body of the car. I brought my car in a few minutes after the shop opened at 8:00 a.m. Though I didn't have an appointment, they looked at it right away, offered a very reasonable price (below my best-case expectation), and took care of it in a matter of minutes. Exceptional attention to detail. Steve went above and beyond to ensure that my vehicle was repaired using only OEM parts after the insurance company wanted him to use aftermarket parts. I cannot praise him enough for the work he did and the quick turnaround on my accident repairs. Additionally, I wasn't going to be able to pick up my car before they closed on Friday, and realizing that he was going to be in my area that evening, he offered to drive the car closer to my home so I could get it before the weekend. This is the second time I have used NSAR in the past 6 months to repair damage to my Mercedes CLA 250 and each experience has been amazing. Steve, the owner, is a consummate professional. Cars are my hobby, for my entire life, staring as a kid with Corvettes and now mostly German Machinery, from 4 911's and 5 other Porsche's, to several Audi's and Mercedes, plus a few classics here and there, and a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder.....my dealers tell me I should spend less time waxing my cars and more time driving them. Well, driving them unfortunately gives you the opportunity for accidents, and when I demolished a leaping buck deer on the Indiana turnpike I was ready to just let my newly-purchased Mercedes 350E coupe go away. The estimate was half the (pristine) cars' value. Luckily, I found Steve at Northshore Auto Rebuilders, and to cut to the chase, I could not be more happy with the work and results. I first was introduced to Bernie by the guy at our company who handled all our executive car care (very high end cars BMW, Land Rover, Bentley)... I don't have a fancy car at all but wanted someone who would not take advantage of me and do a good job. They totally came through! these guys need more reviews. people need to know! good body shop guys are hard to find! well correction: reasonably priced body guys who do good work are hard to find. i do some of my own body work on some of my cars but for my wife's baby, i will not touch it. it goes right to them. they basically talked me out of having them doing a $500 full panel job and instead just doing a touch-up for $25. i'd say that that was being honest to a fault, but to be frank they don't need my business because they have all the work they need on all the best cars. still, i wouldn't ordinarily even bother to try it out since i'd still be able to see it, but these guys are perfectionists as much as i am and i knew i'd be happy with their results. they take pride in their work, even on the race cars they do, that they know will probably get smashed up again soon. it's hard to find guys that really identify themselves with their quality of work. other things to note: they aren't the usual Chicago 'Da Bears' type car guys. well spoken and professional. and like other reviews posted, they handle all of Loeber Mercedes' bodywork and other dealerships. read more
