A new Hmart to visit? Count me in! This location is located in Schaumburg not too far from Woodfield mall. We came by after running some errands and needed to stock up on some Asian staples at home. We decided to start with the food hall because we were starving. We tried the carbonara tokkboki, and some dumplings. It was a bit too sweet for our liking but the dumplings were delicious. It was so interesting to see the drinks sold separately too. But loved just being able see all the different options. Once we were ready to shop we started walking over to the store. Such a bummer that there wasn't an entrance by the food court. We had to leave the store to walk over to the other entrance to enter the store. Now once we did that, we were excited to see how organized and clean this location was. We stocked up on some fresh fruits and veggies and the fruits were so fresh and sweet. A bit higher priced than the average stores but so yummy! The hot pot prepared goodies is a hot pot lovers dream! We're so excited to come back and get more goodies. Overall a decent experience, the staff weren't very helpful because a lot of them didn't speak English well but overall we were able to find what we need after searching a little. Looking forward to our next visit!

We found all the delicious fruits we were looking for. A wonderful gift to give to family. The bonus was the bakery, Tous Les jours that was connected to the H Mart. They had so many delicious delicate sweet treats. I absolutely love Korean bakeries. This one had everything we were looking for including the delicious cloud bread.

We really like this food court. We don't expect food court spots to be at full restaurant level, but the variety and overall quality here definitely make it worth a visit. We especially enjoyed the Korean fried chicken spot, the tteokbokki place, and the tofu & BBQ Chuang spot - all solid choices with great flavors. The Tous Les Jours location here is a bit on the smaller side, but still a nice option if you're craving something sweet.

We were in the area on a Friday night and decided to stop in. This place is huge specializing in Asian style foods. They have a huge selection of both fresh and frozen foods as well as a bakery and food court. We did buy a few items but would love to go back with a person who knows more about Asian cuisine.

This H Mart has one of the best food courts around. There are a lot of options (Korean, Japanese, Chinese) which are great. What takes this place over the top is that you buy your beverages from a drink store in the back corner. They have more beverages canned and bottled) than you can imagine and they sell them at grocery store prices. Sapporo and Asahi beers were $0.99.

Walked in and immediately noticed the home goods and beauty section, then made my way into the grocery area with a massive selection of fresh fruit. There are so many aisles filled with different spices, rice, noodles, snacks, and a wide variety of frozen and refrigerated items. They also have a fresh fish section where you can choose from a great selection. On the other side, there's a food court -- I ordered the BBQ chicken and it was made really well. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. Super cool store overall with so much to explore. I'll definitely be back to try more!

My fam and I visited the new Hmart for the first time this past weekend. It was a bit crowded for an early Saturday evening, but we still managed to get parking. The store itself is well stocked with lots of variety similar to the one in Niles. We bought a few items that mostly were from sales. The food court had a lot to choose from but long lines, but they move fast. I would visit again if in the area and eat here.

02/14/26 - My wife & I went to the new H Mart @ 34 E Golf Road in Schaumburg after we ate @ Lao Hu Tong. This store is huge but it was Saturday, Valentine's Day & still on their Grand Opening. The parking lot & the store was a zoo. When we entered the aisles were jam packed w/too many bodies. The store itself is amazing & they had some great deals. I bought some sliced king mushrooms, Enoki mushrooms & thin sliced beef to make a dish I recently had @ Dolo in Chinatown. They also had a 15lb bag of my Nishiki Premium brand rice for $14.99 instead of the normal price of $27.99 for the same 15lb bag. The also had many of the things I use for cooking like Oyster sauce, fish sauce & sesame seed oil either on sale or for good prices. Because of the crowd they had traffic barriers to direct the flow of people w/a line 2 carts wide of to the checkout. They were also directing people into the store both in & out (Crazy mon). They also have a large food court on the east end of the building that has multiple restaurants that run the full depth of the building on both sides w/seating/dining area in the center. I saw this one dish on passing & if I hadn't just eaten @ Lao Hu Tong I would have dived right in. There was this plate that had a large fried looked like weinerschnitzel or katsu w/coleslaw, macaroni & rice. Oh snap that looked so effin good There's also a Tous Les Jour inside this ginormous H Mart. I love their baked goods

Checked out the Schaumburg Hmart grand opening on 1/29/26. I learned about the opening that morning. Normally I wouldn't trek out to Schaumburg just for the opening, but I was going to an event at Portillo's just across the street. It was chaos. So many people! I got lucky and found a parking spot quickly. I didn't have much time and had to rush to find everything I needed (plus more). What struck me most was the poor layout. The entry was tight with shelving almost in front of the doors. You walk directly in the housewares. I couldn't tell where the food was. Maybe once the crowds die down and I'm not in a hurry, it'll make more sense. I loved how clean and stocked the store was. The store is big. Lots of sales and specials opening weekend. Good time to stock up. Although I picked up something that had a sales sign, but was charged full price, ugh. If you are looking for specialty Asian ingredients, Hmart is a great place to go. I liked the layout of the food court at Schaumburg. It's big and open with the food stalls lining the sides and seating in the middle. Much better layout than Niles. The Art Box is big and right in front of the registers. I love Art Box. Dangerous to your wallet. Lol. So many cute things. For those that don't know, Art Box is a stationary chain in Korea. Aside from cute stationary items, they have cute home decor, plushies, electronics and much more. I recommend checking it out. I'll have to come back when I have more time. FYI, 30 minutes in not enough time...Ha

Okay I live about a 10 minutes from another Hmart.....but I would totally drive 25 minutes to go to this one! It has been crowded the past few times I went! The grocery side was crowded and the food court side was also packed. I'm not gonna lie, I felt a little overwhelmed. I felt like this store had a lot of things to look and buy. There was everything I needed and more....so make sure to have time to browse! The food court side has a great variety to choose from. I would suggest to find a table first before ordering food....at least for now. It can get so busy! I liked that they played kpop on the big screen on the stage. There's also a section in the back to buy drinks....nonalcoholic and alcohol (beer, sake, soju, etc). I enjoyed the katsu spot, Paik's, and Oh K-Dog. Love that there's a kungfu tea & a tous les jour as well. Will definitely have to wait a bit for the hype to die down a bit to enjoy my time browsing without being overwhelmed.

I went to H Mart with my friend right after work, after my failed attempt the weekend of their grand opening. The first time around, the line was extremely long, and I didn't have the patience to wait out in the cold, so I ended up going to Joong Boo Market, which is only about five minutes away. This time, I went on a Monday around 3:15 PM. Parking looked pretty full, so I was worried I'd have to wait again, but there was no line! I went in, grabbed a cart, and started strolling through every aisle. H Mart is usually on the pricier side, but they had some really good sales going on (We love a good sale). I bought a bunch of veggies, meats, snacks, ramen, and more. The meat quality was excellent, and I loved having the option to pack my own meat into a container and pay by weight. I really appreciate the flexibility of choosing exactly how much I want. The workers were hardworking and friendly, and the store itself is huge. I'm also really looking forward to checking out their food court, which is also massive. I'm so excited to have this new addition to the Schaumburg area!

Cute food court. Loved the string lights draped across the room. It felt busy, noisy and lively. Good food but VERY crowded. Long waits for food and an open table to sit. One stall stopped taking orders because they could not keep up with the number of orders coming in. Be prepared for chaos!

So happy to see the new Hmart finally open! They have everything you need and great prices on top of sales too!! It was packed with people all to wall understandably but they had everything fully stocked and continued to stock the shelves. Bakery, food court, prepared warm food for takeout, huge full seafood counter, meat fresh & frozen and every vegetable you could think of! I love shopping here for everything. They even have independent cosmetic stores and stationary too!

And yes, in case you didn't know, while it's called "International", all those nations are in Asia. We come here mainly for two things - either getting ingredients to make hot pot at home, or just eating hot pot here. They also have dry pot, which my wife and I really like as an option. You grab a basket and fill it with whatever veggies you want, then a separate one and fill it with proteins, then you pay by the weight. You can either get it hot pot style in a big bowl of hot broth, or dry pot where they cook it in the broth but serve your food already cooked. As far as the grocery selection, they have a big seafood selection and a decent butcher area. Also a lot of Asia snacks and frozen selection, and a small liquor section too. Produce is fine. But if you're making hot pot at home, they have the sliced meat, soup base, sauces, and a little frozen fish ball self-serve area. If you don't want to eat hot pot here, they serve other Asian hot dishes, and there's a bubble tea spot and bakery here, but I haven't tried anything else besides the hot pot. Sense a trend yet? It's not as big as Joong Boo, and it's bigger than the current H Mart for now but will be interesting to see how the new one compares. Overall it's a fine grocery store and we'll come back when that craving for mala spice strikes.

We ran out of rice at home; a staple for this Filipina! I was pleased with the quality of food here, variety, and helpful store employees, that I plan to return again soon, even if it is a little farther for us to travel. Let's just say, I am avoiding the parking lot mess and longer lines at nearby H-Mart or Jong Boo in Schaumburg. I appreciate that my favorite brown sushi rice cones in a 5 or 15 pound bag. And there is a good variety of sauces and seasonings to make my favorite dishes at home. The food court here is a definite must and the salmon sushi roll with soy paper we had was so fresh, the salmon was "like butter." The ingredients, with a little bit of spice inside, went well with the fruit kissed brews at nearby Mikerphone Brewing. They let you b.y.o. food at the brewery, so Tensuke makes a convenient stop. It's a Japanese market that features an amazing food court (and this is where I spent all my time.) I don't recall the name of the stall I purchased from. But I can tell you it was quick, not expensive and very filling. I had a bowl with beef and noodles; for dessert I hit the matcha dessert stall for some matcha and vanilla ice cream. The whole place meal me feel like I was dining outside the state of Illinois. The service from everyone in the market was very friendly and they even had a sake/soju tasting by the front door (and the vendors allowed you try was much as you wanted.) Not only is there a food court of different Japanese restaurants to try, there is also a grocery store, bakery, bookstore, and stores that sell ice cream, traditional desserts, as well as crepes and boba tea! My family and I visit here often every year and we like to try the different foods and desserts and then check out the bookstore and grocery store afterwards. My favorite foods so far have been the beef udon soup with a soft boiled egg, shrimp and vegetable tempura, miso soup, and Japanese curry with rice, beef, and vegetables (carrots and potatoes). My son always gets the chicken and beef on a stick and my daughter usually gets a garlic pork dish with white rice but I forget what this dish is called. My husband also enjoys the beef udon soup like I do. I swear that whenever my food is finished, I am legit sad! The crepes are good, there is a variety of boba teas to try, and the ice creams are delicious! Lychee has been my favorite so far but I have yet to try the matcha, red bean, among others! You can get a small sample of different ice cream flavors too, which is nice! I sampled the red bean flavor so that will be my go-to next time! At the grocery store, I love buying Happy Turn snacks which are like a sweet and salty crunchy cracker (maybe it is made of rice?) that are individually wrapped and mochi from the fridge area. Finally, I usually like to buy mochi from the store right next to the bookstore. The mochi from this location is the best! I usually buy multiple flavors to take home and eat at a later time! You must try these! My kids love checking out the bookstore and they usually pick something out for me to buy for them - whether it is a book, keychain, etc. There are magazines, anime figurines, soft plushy toys, pens, and stationary, etc. It is interesting to browse through the things they have there! You cannot bring food or drinks inside but they do have a shelf at the entrance where you can place your drink there if you like. The first time visiting here, the majority of the customers were Asians and as the years have passed, there is now more of an influx of non-Asians who simply love the food and appreciate the culture, which I think is neat! The first time I visited here was with my college roommate who was from Japan and she recommended this place back in 2009 perhaps? I have been visiting ever since with my family. We travel more than an hour from Wisconsin to come here but it is 100% worth the drive! Also, the cashiers and workers there are quick, efficient, and friendly. I have even been able to practice a few of the Japanese phrases I have learned with a couple of the cashiers too (I asked if they spoke Japanese first)! Overall, Mitsuwa is my happy place! Great food, interesting finds, different culture, and everyone there looks excited to be there. This is as close to visiting Japan as I can get until I keep learning more Japanese and save up enough money to go visit Japan someday! This is my dream! In the meantime, we will keep visiting Mitsuwa!

Sausages for every kind of person, even non pork sausages. Are you looking for pierogi? Polish condiments galore, tea sets, and even Polish periodicals. We really enjoyed picking up some great Polish goodies that are hard to find. It's bustling and clean. While much of the staff speak Polish, they also have many English speakers to help the non-Polish folks (ehem, me) out.
