Surprised how good the food is here as this is my first time dining here. Menu is simple as we ordered combo A (2 people) comes with 2 choice of appetizers (rice cake and pancake), two choice of meats (beef and pork). Grill is hot and they replace as often as they can. They were busy and service was tolerable. The interior was fairly clean and plenty of people waiting for tables, which is a good sign that the food here is great. Parking is great. This place never misses, and every visit somehow gets better. We started with two appetizers that completely stole the show, the A7 Tteokkochi, which is one of my all-time favorites. The rice cakes were perfectly crispy yet chewy, coated in a sticky, sweet-spicy sauce with deep, rich flavor that keeps you coming back for more. We also had the A1 pan-fried dumplings, golden and delicious, paired with a super tasty dipping sauce; simple, comforting, and done right. For BBQ, we chose Combo B for two, and wow. It comes with marinated prime beef short ribs, marinated ribeye, beef brisket, and sliced pork belly, and every single cut was unbelievably flavorful and tender. Paired with the dipping sauces, kimchi, steamed rice, and a side salad with Korean dressings, it felt like a perfectly balanced feast. You can truly taste the care and time put into the food. What really sets this place apart, though, is the experience. Every time we come in, it feels like family. Our waitress was amazingly helpful with suggestions, great conversation, and even assisted with cooking the meat, which made everything even more enjoyable. What a pleasant experience! I love trying korean restaurants in the northwest suburbs and I truly was spoiled here. I ordered a spicy tofu soup with beef and it was extremely delicious on top of that, super filled with beef unlike some other locations. To add to that, my server was this sweet elderly korean lady that surprised me with a choco pie alongside another gentleman. She also surprised me with a yummy coffee. I had first come to 92 town when I was 8 years old and moved away shortly thereafter. I had almost forgotten about the place until I recently moved back and was reminded of how incredible this Korean food was. I grew up in a Korean household and spent my last few years in Los Angeles' Korea town where I've had some delicious dishes but none quite to the authenticity and quality as this. The galbi, all these years later, though I acknowledge the high price, remains the most delicious I've ever had, more tender, better cut, and well marinated through each bite. The panchan and dolsot bimbimbop are world class as well, as the owner shared how all are made in house with the best ingredients on the market--and quite frankly I believe it with this level of quality. Yes it may be a meal that leans on the expensive side, but for this quality I happily take on that bill each time I go. The owner and staff were so incredibly kind to both me and my family and because of both the meal and their service, I was inspired to redownload this app and start sharing reviews again. I came here because it was one of the closest locations to me that was serving Nyengmyun for the summer. Upon arrival there were more than plenty of seats but they had us wait until all parties were in attendance (just 3 ppl in total). We all ordered either Mul Nyengmyun or Bibim Nyengmyun. I personally thought the Mul Nyengmyun tastes a tad better than the Bibim Nyengmyun. Costs: I'd say this place is pretty overpriced in terms of costs. I've also heard that they charge for every single thing on overcharge at times so definitely make sure to check your receipts prior to paying. Myul Nyengmyun ($16.99) - It tasted like normal mul myengmyun but not the best I've had. Banchan: of 6 sides is served with the food, it tasted okay. They served plenty of rice, no ice water & no napkins. My chopsticks were the disposable wood, splintering slivers as I ate. Would I go back? There aren't many good Korean restaurants in the southwest suburbs, so we typically travel towards the north burbs to get a better experience. My wife and I decided to try this restaurant based on positive reviews of high quality meat and we are so glad to have found this gem! The pahjuhn (seafood pancake) was light, airy and delicious. Many restaurants make them dense and very oily, so this was a great start to our meal. We went with their most popular Combo B, which serves 2 people with a variety of meats including kalbi, bulgogi, samgyupsal, and brisket (most popular cuts in Korean cuisine). I can confidently say that the food here was of excellent quality, as it tastes very similar to my mother's homemade cooking. Great assortment of fresh bonchon, white rice, and a palette cleansing side salad will come with the meal. The owner was very polite and friendly and had a great conversation with him. Hands down, one of the, if not the best spots for soondubu (aka Soon-Tofu) in the burbs. Soon-Tofu is a spicy silky tofu soup that has egg and seafood (or beef) and is perfect for a cold winter pick-me-up. Here's the thing... this spot is not for tourists or first-time Korean-Food-Adventurers. The service caters best to those who know what they want and don't require too much hand-holding. The staff are friendly, for sure, but the menu is dense with options, so it can be intimidating. We've done the bulgogi and if you're going with bibimbap make sure it's dolsot, because that stone bowl gives the rice a wonderful texture. Also anything with the glass noodles, like the japchae, is wonderful with flavor, so don't miss out. Last thing I'll point out is that the ambience is cool and trendy, and we've usually gone in the evenings during the week and it's been pretty open (pre-COVID).
