I've been always wanting to try this place out and finally my friend treated me here for my birthday. It was a mixed experience. First, you'll be led into the treatment room and was told to strip down your upper half. Lay on your belly first so the staff could massage your back, then flip over and turn 360 so that your head was on top of the treatment sink. Pros: 1. I like the fact that the spa is located at a strip mall with spacious parking spaces. 2. The inside was clean with many stations for touching up (with high-end cosmetics and hair products) for you to use. 3. Restrooms were spotlessly clean as well. 4. They did great job massaging your neck, shoulders and back. 5. I love how I could see my scalp before and after the treatment. Since I have relatively clean scalp, I opted for the beginner one while my friend picked the deep clean one. 6. It was relaxing at least for me. 7. They blow dried and styled your hair for you. Cons: 1. Attitude: they're a bit condescending toward us because we're Asian. You can totally tell when someone is talking down to you and believe me I'm not too sensitive. That's how I felt. 2. Instructions were unclear and we were so confused which way to turn. No robes were provided though there were some hanging there in the room. They just told us to lay half naked on our belly with a see-through sheet on top. I felt very exposed and uncomfortable, especially when I had to sit up and turn around. One of the staff just kept staring at me after telling me to strip down my upper body. I was like "Yes I understand but can I have some privacy to change my clothes?". 3. The staff who serviced me pushed my head too far to the right to force me to see the screen. I had to tell her that it was very uncomfortable for me and this angle was good and that I could see the screen from here. 4. As soon as they knew my friend was the one paying, they catered to her and offered only her water after the treatment. Only after she refused and said that she had her own water bottle, they pushed the water bottle into my face and asked in a condescending "You want it then?", like giving me a leftover. It was indeed mixed experience for me. My mom works in service industry so I always appreciate service staff. I ended up tipping them $80 for both of my friend and I. I'm not sure I'll come back here again but glad my friend gifted this as a birthday gift so I could at least try it out. read more

I left feeling misled and confused. The process wasn't explained, and communication was filtered through a single "host," making everything feel secretive. I booked a same-day couple's appointment, but we weren't told what to expect and barely interacted with the staff actually doing the service. I do appreciate that they were able to book us at last minute (well with 4 hours notice) and it was seamless as I booked on Yelped and then received confirmation and communication. The room was clean, but I was puzzled when asked to remove my top without explanation. This was certainly an experience to be had. I'm the type that often cannot relax but the moment that I laid down and started my treatment, I felt so relaxed. I made a last minute reservation for my husband and I and was 30 minutes late due to the traffic that San Jose has to offer (in which I was not privy to). The receptionist was amazing in dealing with this issue and once we arrived we were greeted with the best hospitality. The room was clean and organized. There was a curtain divider between mu husband and I but I was totally okay with that since I was completely embarrassed with the build up on my hair follicles. The massage was everything I could of ever wanted. The pressure points were spot on and I absolutely enjoyed the shoulder massage. At the end of the procedure, my scalp was so clean and felt so soft that I couldn't imagine that I had so much build up from the beginning. My friend and I came in for the beginner head care service, but after the employees checked our scalps under the cameras, they recommended the special scalp care as this was our first time coming here. I honestly liked the massages more than the hair wash, even though the main part of the session was the scalp/hair. Unfortunately, I did not fall asleep during the spa. But I did enjoy the herbal hair wash and the "waterfall" portion of the wash. The employees were not careful when handling the equipments/tools, so it disturbed the ambiance of the room during the session. The employees also didn't let us know what they were doing and when, so it came to a surprise once they were done with one section and on with the next. Will be adding scalp care to my self care routine after visiting h2o head care!! I absolutely loved my time here. I came in with my friend today and we had the best treatment!! They started with a back massage and then began the scalp and hair care treatments. Everyone who works here is so kind and helpful, and the treatment was so thorough-- they washed my hair like 3 or 4 times and deep cleaned my scalp before steaming my hair with a moisture mask in. Throughout the whole process, they massage your head and neck multiple times. My hair and scalp are so clean now, and my hair is shiny and feels strong. We wanted to try the H20 at Walnut Creek but they had no time available for 3 people, they offered this location and I am very glad they did. The service was great starting with the call to schedule and confirm. When we walked in we were immediately greeted. The woman at the front sat with us and explained how the service we booked works and what our options were. There was 3 of us so my MIL went first and my friend and I waited 10-15mins be taken back. Once in the room we undressed and started with the massage. We booked the Expert head care which included body massage, head spa, and facial. The massage was great but I do wish they would have worked the full body. She focused a lot on my back and nothing on my legs. One thing I do have a concern with was how much they went in and out of the room with me half naked on the table and no notice of the door being opened. For modesty reasons we picked a place with mostly women and we would have liked a bit more privacy during the service. The facial and head care came hand in hand. They were great but not what I expected. The facial was more of a moisturizing process than any extractions. The head care was a lot of washing my hair but not much else. I felt relaxed and pampered at the end but there was definitely room for improvement. My MIL could not stop raving about her massage but felt the same way about the facial and head care. Love head spas. Have tried them in SoCal, NY, and everywhere in the Bay Area. This place was very good from the start of the spa service to end. You get undressed (unlike other head spas) and start face down for a quick massage. Then you flip over with your head over the bowl which is where the magic begins. Intense massage with steam, deep moisturizing conditioner, and then a blow dry at the end. I also will mention the camera before and after treatment. My scalp apparently was disgusting and when leaving, super sparking clean. I asked the max guests and they said 8 at a time. Love this place. read more

Like others, I was fascinated by the concept and the Instagram videos I saw of people getting all sorts of gunk removed - tenderly - from their scalps. Is it good for your scalp? I have no idea. Will it make my dandruff flakes go away? Really not sure. Is oil build up on your hair inherently bad? I don't know. But is it cool to see the before and after, at a microscopic level with a hyper magnified glance at your hair follicles? Yesssss. I got the deluxe - the works - the car wash equivalent of the whole shebang. The one that costs $200 but less if you're a first time client (20% off at the time of this review). There was only one appointment available in November, so I went for it - seems like they book up quickly. I also was sort of stunned how far it was from Stanford - pardon my ignorance, but San Jose is way larger than I realized and it took me an hour to get there. The spa itself is very simple and not super impressive/distinct from the other beauty places in the strip mall where it is located. And there seem to be many day spas in the area. Still, it seemed clean and straightforward. The treatment itself is very similar to getting your hair washed at a hair salon, with the addition of a raking process with what feels like a fine toothed comb, bit by bit, being brushed against your scalp. There is some massage but it felt like that didn't last so long; the purpose was by and large to clean the scalp as best as possible. There is a soak phase in Chinese herbs which I can only help is doing something magical to my hair. And there is a head massage that at times was a little abrasive and woke me out of my semi-on-and-off-snore-with-my-mouth-magically-closed nap. They will blow dry your hair after the service, but I was in a rush after my hour-long appointment so I didn't stick around. My hair feels very light and has a mild shampoo scent. I am glad I had the experience but I think for the same amount of money, I would get a massage somewhere next time. But it's cool to think of all the ways we can give extra attention to our bodies, and this was a new and intriguing experience for me. read more

I've seen this place all over TikTok, so when my friends mentioned going, I joined them! I think my friend made appointments for us about 2 months in advance. It's a popular spot with only 4 (?) rooms so space is limited. I think they have 2-3 single rooms and one room for couples. There are also 2 single bathrooms. Every room seemed very clean. Since there were 3 of us, my friend who had been once before went to a single room and my other friend and I went to the couples room. They still separated us /our tables with a curtain. You undress (top clothes only) and leave your pants on so wear comfy bottoms. You start on your stomach because they start with a brief back massage. Even though it's short, I thought it was still nice and gets you in a relaxing mood. Then I think my massage lady's name was Amber helped me flip over to my back and also switch placement of where my head is because the bed has the sink on one side. Your head is on the opposite side for the back massage at the beginning. She showed me my scalp under a magnified view/camera, and I had a little buildup on my scalp, not too worrisome for me because I hadn't washed my hair for 2 nights. She showed me their menu of service types, and I went with intermediate (one step up from basic), and everything was 20% off. Intermediate added a hair mask but other than that, it was the same as the basic service ($120 vs $150 before discounts). The most expensive option is $298 before discount. So they have a range in between as well. They wash your hair a lot of course, give scalp massages, shoulder /neck massage. And there's a surprise for your neck which feels amazing but I won't completely spoil it. It feels so good though! I almost fell asleep from being so relaxed. After the washing was all done (multiple washes) and my hair mask was on for like 5 minutes and rinsed out, she showed me my scalp again and how the buildup was gone. Then I got dressed and they have 3 blow dry stations in the main area out front (2 by the door, 1 by the bathrooms in back). She used a Dyson blow dryer so it was pretty quick. Don't expect a blowout with a round brush or style after. It's just to dry your hair so you don't leave with wet hair. My hair is so soft because of the hair mask now! They use some olaplex products here, so it all smells good! I like this place a lot but probably wouldn't do it too often for personal budget reasons and since my scalp wasn't that bad. But it was a really nice treat, so relaxing. And big shout out to Amber (I think) who did my hair care because I wasn't thinking and got a new piercing (tragus) the day before my appointment. I've been looking for a place like this since forever due to my dandruff and itchy scalp but thanks to tik tok I was able to stumble upon this place. The appointment you can easily book online which is pretty easy to navigate and then they'll have set packages for you to choose from. On the day of the appointment , I checked in at the front desk and both of the workers were really accommodating . She told me to lay down and gave me a massage then proceed with the scalp treatment . She showed me how much build up I had in my hair before and recommended me the intermediate package because I had a lot going on with my scalp. Ok, so I kind of have mixed feelings about this place. I've only been once, but I would actually give 3.5 stars for now. I wanted to try this type of spa for a while now but have only seen it in Korea or SoCal. My friend recently showed me this place and I was so excited to give it a try because I love scalp massages. Anyway, I went to my appointment with the intention of buying the beginner's package. First, they have you lie face down to give you a quick back, neck, and shoulder massage. Then, you flip over to the other side, where they test your scalp and show you on the screen. This was pretty neat. Once I saw how much build up I had (plus an itchy scalp), I decided to go with the $198 Special Scalp Care package to see if it would help with my problem areas because that's what the specialist recommended. To make this as short as possible, yes, it did help. I walked out with really soft hair, my scalp felt better/cleaner, and the itchiness was gone. I'm writing this review on my 3rd day hair (will wash tonight) and my scalp doesn't itch at all! Usually, my scalp would start itching already on the 2nd day. Was it the Chinese herbs that helped? No idea, but maybe. Where I think they (or maybe just my specialist, Abby) could use some improvements: *Walk through what they're doing or at least explain how it helps with my problem areas. It was my first time, so some information would have been helpful. *Offer tips or advice on how to better care for my scalp/hair at home. *Ask questions about my routine, and then offer some suggestions. This would have been nice because I'm obviously doing something wrong. Another thing, the experience wasn't as relaxing as I expected, but it might have been because I picked a different package. Are you one of those people that wishes they could just keep their head in the shampoo bowl when they get haircuts because it just feels so good to have someone massaging their scalp? Or are you just one of those peeps that loves to get their head massaged? Well, if you said "yes" to either of those questions, you *must* come here. I will call this place Scalp massage heaven. There was a time not too long ago where I would watch youtube videos of women getting these hour long scalp massages in Japan and Korea. I would sit there mesmerized wishing and hoping that one day they would open up a spot like that here. Can you imagine my excitement when I found out that they finally opened up shop here in the Bay Area? I was on the phone instantly booking an appointment because I couldn't get here fast enough. Joanna (their reservationist) was so sweet. Everything is 20% off right now and given that this was my first time, I knew that I wanted to get something more than just the "Beginner" head care services. Go big or go home right? Here's what I got: "Advanced Head care" (1 hour 15 minutes-- $180 + 20% off right now) which included everything in the "Beginner + the Intermediate Head care" services. This included: Scalp and Hair Quality Tested; Deep Cleansing and Scalp Care; Back/Shoulder/Neck Massage, Moisturizing Repairing Hair Mask + Hydrating Face mask. I was chaperoned into a private room where I saw a similar setup to what I had seen in those youtube videos. There was a massage bed and a shampoo station at the foot. They also had a shower in there (available if you're getting a body scrub or full body massage) and comfy chair if you needed to sit. I was so excited and had to ask if they had a tripod so that I could film. It turns out, they have a tripod for their customers who have requested to do the same. Perfect! They happily obliged and helped me to set it up. Judy was my Scalp therapist for the day and I loved her. She was able to do scalp analysis with a camera that enlarged my hair follicles so that i could see whether or not I had extra buildup from dandruff. Luckily, my hair was super clean and so was my scalp. Healthy hair overall. I laid down and she gave me a run down on my body to do a pressure check. Since I opted to have the hydrating facial mask, she gave me a mini face massage. I actually loved the face massage portion of this and would probably go back just for more of this alone. Once the mask was done being applied, I repositioned myself on the bed so that my hair could fall into the sink area. That's when the magic happened. She pulled out the metal claw head massager first to just run it through my scalp. Her hands + fingers started to go to work and then she started massaging my scalp before turning on the water. I was already so relaxed at this point so I couldn't keep track of how many times she actually washed my hair or when she added in the hair masks + steam. I just know that everything she was doing felt amazing. From the little jet streams of water to the brushes she was using to comb through my scalp and the countless times she was using her fingers to scrub away. When she would come down my neck and my shoulders to massage, it was such an added bonus that I couldn't help but keep thinking to myself how much I could make this a regular type of thing. Once I was done, Judy chaperoned me to a separate vanity area where she blow dried my hair. This isn't a "blow- out". This was done just to get your hair dry so you didn't have to leave with wet hair. The vanity is full of high end serums and moisturizers from brands like La Prairie and Estee Lauder so that you could use them on your face. They also have some select perfumes to spray on as well. I also wanted to mention that all of their haircare used during your scalp massage is from "Olaplex" -- also a higher end haircare brand. This is self care at its best. First - I'd like to say I'm a big fan of med spas and all spas. So I'm very sad to be writing this review because my cousin booked us appointments as a birthday present for me. I was genuinely impressed by the results of my hair, but I am questioning how sanitary the process was and how much training the employees had received because I have developed a rash on my hairline and pink eye in my right eye. I chose the special package which included everything in beginner and intermediate package, which meant it included a hair mask steam situation. The employee who helped me put a head wrap on me and then what I assumed was a steam bonnet (i'm assuming this is what it was because my eyes were closed with a heated mask on, and the employee was minimally communicative). After she was all done with my hair, I heard her gloves come off and for some reason she massaged my forehead lightly without her gloves on and managed to make contact my eye. I thought that was really uncommon because at hair salons no one has ever touched my face. pics attached of my hairline before seeing them and after. i'm constantly taking progress pics of my skin because I'm working with my aesthetician on my acne. Left this place with a very clean scalp! For the price point, I wish it was a bit more educational. And then the issue with the payment. Customer service is top tier... Everyone was extremely nice. They greeted me as I walked through the door and immediately helped by leading to the room. They also checked in a lot during the process to ensure I was warm, water wasn't too cold, etc. There were many things put into my hair, however I didn't know what they used... I get it, company policy not to disclose the core shampoos, conditioners, serums, etc. However, I didn't know what was going on. They showed me my scalp and their observations but... But what was good or wrong with it? Was there too much keratin in my products or were there parabens clinging to my hair? They said "some build up, little irritation" and that was it. It was not informational whatsoever. So I didn't learn anything. Nor did they tell me what they were using on my hair and scalp to correct / help it. They could have been using a "one size fits all" approach. I also came here for my birthday. My sister purchased our gift packages and scheduled it over the phone with the salon. However, when we finished, they asked us for the receipt. Which I didn't have and I could not get a hold of my sister. They asked us to pay upfront and to call later to get a refund when my sister provides the receipt. Which is a weird process? If she called the salon to purchase the packages and scheduled appointments for us over the phone, then what else is needed? Overall, it was an experience for sure. I've been meaning to try this location for a scalp spa for so long, but it's so popular and books out so quickly!! It's right in my backyard, and since trying scalp spas in Tokyo, I wanted to support a local business and also experience the luxurious sensation of being pampered again. If you speak Chinese, great! I managed to wrestle in an appointment with Mandy on their booking website for intermediate head care (the scalp spa and a hair mask), but after looking at my scalp through their magnified view, she convinced me to try their Chinese medicine deal. I had a good amount of product build up and dry skin from not shampooing twice, and she taught me how to do the proper method (by using your hair and rubbing it against your scalp, instead of just scratching with your nails). She let me know that washing my hair once every two/three days was enough, though. It's so gross, but so satisfying to see your scalp up close. It's common to mistake dry scalp flakes for dandruff, but they are two different things and should definitely be treated with different products! Mandy let me know that it was important to go to scalp spas because after taking my hot showers, I was applying lotion all over my body to moisturize it but I was unable to properly moisturize my scalp as it was in need of some TLC. The massage was nice, and I was lowkey overheating during the scalp massage portion since the blanket she covered me with was heavy! She noticed that I was fidgeting, though, and she quickly took the blanket off of me. She used the medicine to rinse my hair and used a fine toothed comb to remove all the build up and dry scalp flakes from my head. At the end, Mandy showed me what my hydrated and rejuvenated scalp looked like. I was so happy!! There were no white flakes, no build up flakes, and everything looked so hydrated. She applied Olaplex hair product to my ends and used the Dyson blow dryer to finish drying my hair. I'm so satisfied with the service I received here, and she booked me another appointment two months after this one. Love love loved my experience here! I was able to make an appointment online just be sure for confirm your appointment when they send over that text message. My partner and I were able to be in the same room together which was nice. He got the beginner care and I got the special treatment for eczema. My favorite parts were definitely the neck and shoulders massage combined with the water fall around the clavicle area. They started with a brief whole body massage then moved to the head treatment.The only thing is the room is very bright but they put on heated eye pads on your eyes which is nice. I waited over four months for this appointment. I can clearly say that it was not worth the wait. I ended up getting this special treatment which was because I have psoriasis and I had a small flareup. I was told that they would put a special cream on the scalp afterwards but that never happened so I wonder what I paid for. For $170 that I paid which includes tip and 20% percent off this is definitely not worth it. if you come here, probably stick with the cheapest option because anything above that is not worth your money. The girl that was working on me the back of my head completely and I had to ask her to go back in and wash it. They also market the hell out of the fact that they use Olaplex, but the girls use some random cream that was on top, and I had to ask for the oil in my hair. My scalp feels definitely clean, but I think I can do all of this at home by myself. I recommend trying it out at least one but I don't think I'll be coming back here again. read more

I hate to write reviews, but if you've done self care (massages, facial, hair,etc..) I came in thinking I'll be relaxed. In this case I didn't experience what others felt for the price I paid. I paid for the special treatment and we started with the massage. The massage was very light and I've had better elsewhere. She wore gloves and the pressure wasn't great. Once we got to the head part, there was minimal massage and as she's scrubbing it was very spotty and didn't feel like it was the whole head. She washed my head 3 times and also soaked my head into the Chinese herbal with this package. I kid you not she used hot water and I had to tell her to adjust the water- she still continued to use hot water sadly. After, she wrapped up and I put my clothes on. We transitioned to the chair to dry the hair. I saw Olaplex on the counter and assumed she would use it for my hair. They promoted on their IG page with Olaplex.. she didn't use any. She got some serum in a jar and applied to my hair. As she was drying my hair, I counted.... she used hot heat and it was burning my head 4 times I began to tilt away multiple times. She began to giggle and said I don't like hot. It was so hot and uncomfortable. I was super bummed after the service. I waited for 2 months for this appointment too! read more

This was my experience as a curly girl. I booked this appt 2 MONTHS in advance online b/c that was the only time I could find was 2 months out. crazy. and even then I was having to refresh the page and check every couple days to see if there was an opening. Leading up to the appointment, I got text reminders which made me feel more confident in knowing that my appt was going to happen b/c I'd read stories where folks had thought they made an appt but found out they weren't actually on the books. I was coming from the 209 so I knew this would be a waste of time and gas if they cancelled on me. This place was SO far for me, my goodness. it was a whole day ordeal to get here. This place is basically on the outskirts of San Jose, almost going to Gilroy. lol. We literally saw signs for Gilroy on our way here. On our way though, we spotted a TJ MAxx and Trader Joe's a few blocks away. So if you're with someone, they can go there to hang out :) I arrived 20 minutes before the appt. The gal at the front desk was friendly and greeted us. She had my name down and took me in right away to the first room. Hubby stayed in the waiting area :) She instructed me to get undressed from the waist up and told me how/where to lay down b/c we'd be starting w/ a back massage. I was left alone for a bit, and had time to just relax on the table. I didn't know who I was going to get but I got Nicole. She was very kind and sweet. She told me the process she was going to do. Her back massage was relaxing. Then we got to the hair part! The camera was cool and she showed me areas where I didn't even know I had some dandruff. She also inspected my hair and asked if I had any hair concerns. I shared with her and she also inspected my hair texture and noticed my curly hair. I got the beginners package and she washed my hair 3 times, each time more vigorous with scalp massages in between. Y'all, I loved having someone else wash my hair and the massages were really nice. The water arc thingy wasn't as great as I had imagined it would be. I wish the pressure was a little stronger but it was okay. The whole time my eyes were covered with an eye mask that looped around my ears. I let her know it was a little too warm for me and she put a barrier in between. so much better. I couldn't see anything during this process so I was a bit surprised when I heard a loud "spritz" sound...over and over near the top of my head. I couldn't figure out what that was. I asked her, "what's that?" and she said "it's a hair growth serum", i go "oh, well, put it all over my head then :) " she goes "you have a lot of hair". I always take it as a compliment when a hair stylist says that to me. She showed me the "AFTER" in the camera and it looked so shiny! and clean. She airdropped the pictures to hubby before we left. Then, I got dressed and she took me to the waiting area where hubby was and sat me in the chair to dry my hair. By the way, they use Olaplex shampoo and conditioner which smelled amazing. I've used the Olaplex bonding #3 in the past which isn't that great smelling but I was pleasantly surprised w/the shampoo and conditioner. She put some Olaplex products in my hair, and was just drying w/the Dyson. Nothing fancy really, just so I wouldn't leave with sopping wet hair. As curly girls know, drying this way just to dry it will leave you with a frizzy poofy mane looking like the Lion King. Well, that was me. She did tell me that next time I'm welcome to bring in my own curly hair products so I can apply them. But, I'd need a diffuser which any curly girl knows is the longest portion of the curly hair styling process. They have brushes in a UV oven thingy that they use while they blow dry but they don't do a blow out and style like in a salon. They're just trying to dry your hair so you're not leaving with sopping wet hair. She dried it maybe 60% dry and asked if I wanted her to dry it more. I said yes. After what seemed like a while, my hair was maybe 85% dry when I left. I just threw it up in a bun when I left. My hair felt very soft to the touch. Also, because I was in the first room, I could hear other clients getting their hair dried by the hair dryer right outside the room. At first I thought they were vacuuming but quickly realized it was the dryers. So hearing dryers every now and then outside the door was a bit annoying. The spa music though was lovely and helped make the ambiance relaxed. Overall it was a relaxing experience. But because of the distance, I would maybe return 2-3x/year and would request Nicole. She was kind, patient, and sweet. read more
