My partner and I love this place and been going here for years. Every time, the ladies were kind and nice. We tend to tip ~20% after each service (occasionally higher when we get our favorite massage therapists) We went last night and the lady with the Zelle name "Li Zhao" was quite rude. Instead of asking if we want to tip, she asked if I had Zelle. I knew what she meant and said yes. I did a rough math estimate for 20% for both therapists and sent the money. She asked if it was supposed to split for two therapists. I said yes she then said something to her coworkers and acted like it was not enough until a coworker said something back. She then turned around looking upset but still said thank you. We left confused and felt like she was judging us for tipping 20%? In my opinion, tipping should always be OPTIONAL but I will always tip for services knowing it is optional. Also here's the math: the total was $254 and I tipped $50 which is ~20%. I did the math in my head so I knew I maybe short with some change. When I do the calculation on a calculator it should've been $50.80. I was short $0.80 but I didn't think that much would be bothersome??? Giving 4/5 for all the good experiences. However for the lady, 1/5 for greed. read more

I've now had a couple very mid experiences here, which is sad because I've been before when it was VERY GOOD. I want to give this a two star rating but being honest the work that's done is pretty good. HOWEVER, the lack of focus and evenness of the timing is BAD. Both times I asked for an extra on my hips and legs. Neither time did I get more than 10 minutes combined on my quads. This last time was quite literally a run of lotion on the front of my legs before some small presses on them. Maybe 5 minutes. Specifically today I stayed only a little on my back, then proceeded to give 45 minutes on my back. Hoping to bring attention to management so maybe employees can communicate better. read more

I called before going in and asked if they have a prenatal massage and she said they do have the service. I went in, told them I was there for a prenatal massage and I wanted them to knead on my knots, I didn't want to be rubbed with oil. She seemed to understand English. I went in then room and she asked me to lay on my belly. I pointed at my belly and said Im pregnant. I should've left then but I gave her a second chance. Of course she put a lot of oil and started rubbing me. I asked for more pressure 5 times and she would go back to her normal pressure. She would just repeat one pattern over and over again on my legs and hands and back. In the middle of the massage, she asked me to lay on my back and I had to remind her I was 8 months pregnant and couldn't lay on my back. She said but I want to massage your head. Im like but Im pregnant, I can't lay on my back!! I was not happy so I tipped her low. She said this was a $95 massage and I said you don't know how to massage a pregnant woman. She just looked at me like she was not convinced. Then she followed me all the way to my car to get more tip. If you care about your tip money, please deliver good service. If you don't provide prenatal massage be honest and let your customer know! Don't expect to be tipped if you don't know the basics of massage. read more

Susan was amazing. 1 hour for 67 minutes of pure heaven. The rooms are clean & individual. They rub you down with oil and then a hot towel.

The low prices and the massage was like a five-star service. The deep tissue massage went well, while I was in pain the therapist (or masseuse) assigned to me was able to fix the sore and tightness in my right hamstring (caused by the nasty sciatica and ongoing chiropractor visits), with her amazing body weight technique and a big stretch afterwards all in 90 minutes; felt better in the morning. However, prior to my massage appointment I was using the shower, the knob to turn on the shower head broke right off, needs immediate repair before another customer or massage staff uses it. Because it was Chinese (Lunar) New Year, I tipped my masseuse $40 for excellent service! read more

My bike was stolen right outside the storefront. The salon owner refused to cooperate--no apology, no help with camera footage - and suddenly "didn't speak English." Funny how they speak perfectly when it's time to charge you. If a place neglects basic business ethics, don't expect much for customers--or for sanitation. My first experience with Elegance Spa was going here with my boyfriend on our two year anniversary! We managed to get a couple's room. It was so comfortable; the beds being heated and the clean/pristine interior immediately put me to sleep. I got the Swedish massage 60 minutes with him, and the deep tissue 60 minutes with my mom. The workers speak Mandarin, and we were able to get situated pretty quickly. The entire process is really comfortable and customizable, you can let the workers know if the pressure is too much or too little and if you're ticklish! I'm pretty happy about this being close to home/in south side, but even if I didn't live nearby I'd still be willing to drive to get here!! read more

Love this place! I did a couple's massage with my husband and we initially did 30 minutes to "give this place a try." The massage therapists must've known how much we enjoyed it because after 30 minutes, they asked if we wanted to continue. We didn't even need to think about it-- it was a hell yes lol. We both had such a hard time getting up from the massage bed because we just wanted to stay there, but we left very relaxed. I got Amber and she was great! I like her technique and I didn't really experience pain or discomfort when she got my knots out. I actually enjoyed my massage with Amber so much, I came back a second time a few days later. My husband got Angela and said he knew it was going to be a great massage as soon as she stepped on his back and cracked it, haha. It's been awhile since I was last here , booked online for an 11 am Thai massage. Once I arrived there was no receptionist at the front, I believe one of the masseuse left her session really quick to greet me & check me in; I had figured since her hands were shiny from the oil & she had come from the back . She seemed a bit confused at first until I mentioned having booked online , she apologized and asked if I could wait 10min since they were busy this morning., I had arrived 15min early for this very reason (blame my anxiety lol) Nonetheless it was totally understandable- I've been there, short staffed an all so it was no big deal. Paying before your massage is a thing & Apparently it's a $2 charge for paying card . Finally was able to get into a room at but I guess my masseuse I had originally wanted to book with wasn't available so I just opted for whomever was available- just would've been nice to know prior , it was a double bed which was weird since it was just myself - not sure if this was a different style of Thai massage but I mean it felt nice, just wasn't what I'm originally used to. The head massage was really nice though. After the sessions she had asked if I wanted to tip in cash or card , gave her the tip & her response was very displeasing,"oh usually a 90min it's $20 tip", I have never in my years of getting massages/chiropractor adjustments have I ever experienced someone so unprofessional demanding more money , it's very discouraging and unprofessional I had to chuck down a few stars for that very reason. Booked based on the reviews and reasonable prices. Lost a star due to the check-in process. Not sure if it was a language barrier or disorganization, but they couldn't find my appointment for a while. Then they found it, but the person I booked specifically due to researching reviews wasn't available for another 20-30 minutes. I thought that was an unreasonable amount of time to wait given I booked someone specific online. At any rate, Jessica helped me out after I mentioned I wasn't willing to wait, and luckily she did very well and listened to my needs. She gave a very good Swedish massage that wasn't painful and felt very relaxing. I'd be back, but I hope next time they improve the check-in processes and therapist availability. read more

Last-minute decision for a massage today. Called the top five place on Yelp. The customer service on the phone with clear and straightforward. They had availability within an hour. Was greeted upon arrival was put into a room that was clean and I was promptly greeted. My massage was phenomenal. I've gone here twice now and both times were fantastic! By coinsidence, I had Emily as my masseuse both times. The first time I did an hour deep tissue massage. I've had back issues for the past few years from years of sports and I experience a lot of pain in my lower back. I was in a lot of pain the first time I went and when I walked out I felt so much better. The second time I went I did a two-hour massage. Emily started with the Thai massage (stepping on your back), proceeded with deep tissue and then hot stones. I felt like a million bucks after! I was a little hesitant about trying the Thai massage since I've never had anyone step on my back but it felt amazing and I actually enjoyed it more than the traditional deep tissue. Not too bad for a nice full body massage. They were able to get us in for two massages super last minute. For a one hour full body massage it's $65 dollars. You have to pay up front before the massage. I wanted an individual room but they put me and my bf in a couples room. The masseuse were very nice and always wanted to make sure you are feeling okay. I always get medium pressure and I feel like it's the perfect amount of pressure. The spot is very clean, however my partner advised that his massage bed had hairs and he couldn't really breathe... so he needed a break for water. And they were kind enough to grab it for him. The massage was good but not great. I need to learn my lesson that getting last minute massages are sometimes not the best experience. read more

Horrible experience! Masseuse did not speak English so I was unable to communicate that my pressure should be less, and I walked out of there in pain and am still in pain 2 days later. Lack of communication led to a horrible experience overall, and even after I called the company to talk to them about my experience all they did was defend the fact that the masseuse didn't speak English. It is rare to find good massage places that don't charge an arm and a leg anymore. I would say this is on the lower end of cost. Very good bang for your buck. Was able to get a quick appt within an hour during late afternoon. The style of massages were all the same price. I wanted a deep tissue style but they only ask what pressure you want. There is no mention of what type of massage. Pay when you arrive for the massage and tip after you're done. The massage table is comfortable and warmed with an electric blanket. The room is really nice with decor and relaxing music that is the perfect volume. Level was still soft but also to drown out noises from around you. The lady made an effort and was really nice, but the massage was average. She didn't put as much attention or pressure to work my neck, head and shoulders where I have the most tension and knots. There was more effort on the lower body. I know the neck and shoulders was last but it was barely done. I have a stressful office work job and really needed this treat after waiting so long. Worst place to get massaged !!!! Here is a little more in-depth of my experience; I called in beforehand to see if there was any availability slots for one hour massage- lady over phone said yes so i drove over there as soon as i could. Front desk led me to my room, and whoever they assigned me did a horrible job on me. I didn't feel relaxed one bit. She just rubbed my legs and arms back and fourth and little taps here and there then called it a day. When i handed my masseuse her tip, she didn't like what i tipped her so she told her boss that the tip was too little. So the boss chased after me to my car and ask why did i tip so little, and ask was the service bad? If you're expecting a bigger tip for shitty service get the fudge crackers outta here. Called to see if they had a same day appointment. Lucky me they did! I did the 90 min. Swedish massage. The cost was $92.00. if you don't have cash they charge 2 dollars. They also ask you to pay 1st. It seems this is the standard at alot of places now. Always bring cash for the tip I guess. My masseuse came in and asked how I liked the pressure. The first 45 minutes we're spent on my back. This was the best part of the massage. The last 45 min. seemed rushed. The rubbing was very fast not slow and smooth. So that kind of killed it for me and the reason for the 3 stars. The massage should be consistent throughout. Would I come back? Probably not for 90 bucks. Bit of you need a massage asap give them a call. They can probably get you in. Just make sure to tell them if they are rushing you. read more
