Actually, they serve slushies which I'm not a huge fan of, but the bubbles were very much on point. I'll try the Thai ice tea or coffee instead next time. Total surprise with this place! After an awkward walk into Jeff's Kitchen which requires a reservation I saw this place on my Yelp app. First, the heat level here is awesome. I mean, medium gets the nose running and they don't lie. I eat hot oil and hot sauces like they are candy. I'm glad I went medium. Go mild to start if you don't have high tolerance, you can add more thai chilies table side. I had the Pad Khing with beef. Great ginger flavor, and the water cress and onion had the texture I was looking for. The sauce was bursting with savory beef ginger elements, what a lovely brown sauce. I picked up take out lunch yesterday from Haang's Bistro, which is located across from Bayside. This place gets an A+ thanks to their top notch service and super fresh ingredients. We had a few different dishes including the drunken noodles (which were good), basil fried rice with tofu (very good), pad khing (really good), pork spring roll (ok), and fresh spring rolls (incredibly fresh). My friend ordered medium spice on the pad khing and it was pretty spicy. I ordered mild spice on the basil rice and it was perfect for me. Overall, Haang's was great and we'll definitely be going back to try more fresh dishes. read more

I went to haangs on 9-4-2014 I ordered the spicy noodles mild w/beef, it was very good the meat was some of the tenderest I have ever had, especially from a Asian type restaurant. Seriously tender beef !!! Mild was just about right amount of spice, because the Thai spice builds the more you eat it, by the time I was 3/4 the way done I needed to stop, my tongue was burning (good burn) and I was sweating bullets. My girlfriend ordered the general Tao but mild, I would have liked it spicier but had excellent flavor, would definitely order either one again. For whatever reason they didn't have dumplings that day, but I have had them before and they are huge and Damn close to the best I have had, if not the best. First and foremost, I love their food here. It's always delicious! The lady who usually works the front is very very kind and always gets my order right. I called today and placed an order the same way I always do (tofu pad Thai, minus the tofu, only bean sprouts and noodles) the lady on the phone was rude and said "next time just say vegetable pad Thai". When I picked it up she gave me a completely different order than what I asked for... vegetable pad Thai, when that was never what I wanted. I called and explained and the nice lady answered the phone and said they'd fix it. Great! So I came inside and brought back the order and I could hear her in the back yelling about how she's never had this happen in all her years and she rather sound dumb than be wrong blah blah. She was saying all this right infront of me. I've been coming here for a while and I'm always polite and never once have had an issue like this until dealing with this woman. Very impressive pick-up protocol in place during pandemic. Restaurant completely closed off and staff well-protected. Food was really great and I will definitely go back. The chunks of meat in the General Chicken were HUGE. The 2 Thai dishes we ordered were too spicy for me. I asked for mild+ but they were more medium+. Horrible service. They wouldn't take a valid gift card, wouldn't give a receipt for a take out order. Said I had to wait until after. I told them ok l, I understand. But they kept on telling me and it was insulting. Plus I wanted to buy pho but they said because I was getting take out to be able to eat on their balcony) that it would be difficult. Hands down the best Thai food in Southeastern MI! This quaint little family owned restaurant is located across the street from Walled Lake and has become a staple in the community for years, mainly for takeout. Every dish is made from scratch by their only chef, including their famous egg drop soup (made 3 times a day according to our waitress). Take your pick: Pad Thai, Penang Curry, Drunken Noodles or the Pad See Ew, vegetable or pork spring rolls...you can't go wrong! I personally haven't tried their Chinese dishes but I heard their sesame chicken is to die for. Do yourself a favor and go check out Haang's Bistro. The best Asian cuisine around, hands down. There is no better. Their spiciness register is spot- in for Thai, where their medium is actually spicy! Loved their Pad Cashew and Hot and Sour soup. Also tried their crab rangoons and they weren't bad either! Wanted the dumplings but they had just ran out. They have so many great choices I had a hard time making up my mind so I asked the server and she gladly pointed out some suggestions that were the best of all tastes. They also have smoothies and bubble tea. It is a small location, across from Walled Lake beach so limited seating and carry out can be time consuming. However the food makes it worth the wait. They do not offer any alcohol so no Tiger Beer or Sapporo. Waitstaff is awesome and friendly, eager to help and please. If you're not a big eater, might want to split a dinner order as it can easily fill two of ya. Just a solid choice when needing that Asian cuisine fix!
