They say if you want to learn about great places to eat... Listen to what others say. Well this little place is a hidden gem. When we first pulled up a pleasant face greeted us with a wave and a smile. We sat down and told our server ( who happens to be the owner's Daughter ) that we were from Brighton and had heard how great the food was from an aquaintance. We were thanked for driving out to visit. Our drink orders were taken and we were told about the menu. We ordered and our food arrived promptly. I ordered a spicy Tom Yum soup.. Yumm is exactly the word i would use to describe this tasty soup. My Girlfriend ordered the Curry Pad Thai. Now she is Thai herself and knows good Thai food. She also was very happy with her choice. At the end of our meal, the chef checked in with us and asked how the food was. It was so nice to meet the chef and our server Patricia. We will be back. Stopped in for take out last night while visiting some friends in the area... I tried the Masaman and came away quite happy... Very tasty ! Owners seem to genuinely care about their business and it's got a beautiful location looking out at the lake. I will certainly be back for a sit down dinner at some point. read more

The service and the food were great! I recommend sticking with the Thai food. The Chinese items were good, but all the Thai items were amazing. Pork Spring Roll and Pork Fried dumplings were excellent. So flavorful! The Tom Yum soup with shrimp was amazing. Everything was made lovingly by hand and you could tell. They also sell shrimp chips, which are better than the crunchy noodles they serve with the soup. The Beef Pho looked amazing, as did the Pad Thai. I ordered Mongolian Beef which was ok, but too sweet for my tastes. The Gung Bao Chicken was decent but nothing special. Definitely go to this place, but order the Thai dishes. We LOVE this local restaurant. I can't say much for the dine-in experience because we always get carry out. With four kids at home we opt for take out maybe once every 1-2 weeks. Our usual order is fried rice, sweet and sour chicken (with sauce in the side) for the kids, pad Thai with chicken, and Massaman curry. I've also ordered some of the soups and ALL of the food is hot, fresh, and delicious. I am especially a fan of the massaman curry. At other places the curry has day-old potatoes and it really takes away from the dish. At Haang's, the potatoes are taste fresh and make the whole dish AMAZING. I love their version of the pad Thai, it's not oily, just flavorful! My only recommendation would be to serve the pad Thai with a lime instead of the lemon but other than that keep up the great work! Excellent little spot on walled lake with a beautiful view, the inside seating area is small and cozy and outside they have lake view patio. Our server Patricia was very friendly that definitely added to our experience at the bistro. Food: We started off with the Tom kha gai soup which was pretty tangy and tasted delicious. I got a small hot and sour soup with my pad thai and it was good as well. The thai ginger n brown gravy chicken was alright nothing too special, still pretty good but didn't wow us. The pad thai on the other hand was also a little on the dryer side for me. Caution: these people dont mess up with spice levels, their medium is very spicy compared to other restaurants, i had to pause to gather myself back. So mild is the way to go if you like some spice but not something that makes your nose run! Also the bubble teas are pretty good, not overly sweet and the bobba were soft. Just moved out here and tried Haangs and i loved it! They have amazing pan fried dumplings that are the size of a small childs head. There sesame chicken, almond chicken is very good. Glad I went and cant wait to go back and try there Pho. read more

Usually I'm hesitant about going into restaurants that serve foods from a bunch of different countries(Thai, Viet, chinese), and sad to say I wish I would have trusted my instincts. Had the green curry and one of the noodle dishes. Taste was bland and mediocre at best. On the plus side, you get a lot of food for your money for the lunch specials and service was good. read more

The pad Thai here is amazing!!! I've called for in orders for pickup here maybe 5 times so far and every single time it takes less than 20 minutes for it to be ready. I've never eaten inside, and although it looks small I imagine it would be a pretty nice view as walled lake is directly across the street. New to the area, I'm checking out local restaurants. I ordered sweet and sour shrimp(carry out) from the Chinese menu(they also serve Thai food). The food was awesome and the two ladies at the counter were very friendly and welcoming. My kind of place!!! The only reason for 4 and not 5 stars is I want to try them again to see if the experience is the same(can't get much better)! Next time I'll be ordering from the Thai menu. First visit today. (lunch) Ordered the chicken pad thai. Hot. With the hot and sour soup. Very good. Did I say hot? For the first visit I should of ordered medium. My lips and tongue melted away. The hubby and I got takeout the other night and we were pretty impressed. He got the curry fried rice and I got the drunken noodles add peanuts. Both of our entrees were delish, but SPICY!! We both got our meals medium and we equated it to extra hot at other places. They do not mess around with spice here so beware. We will most likely get mild next time. I would recommend getting a spice level lower than you normally order and can always add more after receiving your meal. 3 of us here tonight. We ordered Sesame Chicken, Pad Thai and Gang Garee. I had never had Pad Thai before. I an not a big Asian food fan, but the Pad Thai was very, very tasty. My wife has the Gang Garee and loved it. My daughter had the Sesame Chicken and loved it. This was our second visit. We will keep coming back. ...but now I have TWO dishes I liked a lot...I don't know if I could try something else. I have a feeling I will get something I had before. Excellent food. I have a huge love affair with this restaurant- I had been to it's predecessor, Nu Pacific Bistro numerous times and was devastated when the doors closed so I am ecstatic that Haang's Bistro has taken over. I have never dined in since the ownership changed, but it offers a quaint, clean eating area with a friendly girl usually running the register. I have ordered carry out probably five times now and am never disappointed. My favorite dish is the Vegetable Curry Pad Thai, and even though chicken usually creeps me out, I'm not offended by their chicken when I'm feeling adventurous. I always get the same dish so I cant say much for the rest of the menu but if the pad thai is any indication, I would have to say the rest is awesome as well! read more

First of all let me say 5 stars for the service! This business truly cares about the satisfaction of their customers. I've been here twice now. The first time was a Saturday night & the carryout time was 40 MINS so I changed my mind but it was late & this is in the downtown Walled Lake area so I should've known. The lady at the counter had no problem letting me know the wait time though, which I greatly appreciate. Most places are hesitant to let you know when they are gonna take awhile simply b/c they are money hungry & don't want to turn away business. These people are HONEST, rare find. Came in tonight & was actually able to get some food YAY! Same woman from Saturday & she was still in the same bubbly mood; very polite & sweet. Let me know of a 20 minute wait time which is expected so no big deal. I came in at the time I was told & food was still steaming hot. I had sweet & sour chicken which was a good serving size for $10 (came with a pint of white rice) & also a banana rice cake. Couldn't pass that up & as I hoped it would, it tasted like my childhood! Love this place but most of all love the workers. Can't wait to try more entrees! read more

Had a terrible experience, the entrees came out in just ten minutes, but my husband's pad Thai came with a LONG HAIR in it. That made him sick, so he had to go outside. Neither the manager or the waitress felt the need to handle the situation in any manner. When I approached them, all they could say was: these things happen and I can't go back in time to fix it. She even tried to convince me that it wasn't any of the staff's hair, which was a ridiculous attempt. Only after 5 minutes of me explaining why it's so disgusting (!) I received an apology. Needles to say, we're not coming back, and will not recommend it to anyone. read more

Food was delicious. One of the best Asian restaurants in the Commerce, Walled Lake, Wixom area. Bubble teas are definitely worth it. Don't underestimate the amount of heat when you request your entrée to be spicy. Great patio seating with lake views.
