My wife was craving Mexican so we stopped here for lunch. It was packed but we were greeted and seated immediately. The staff was friendly and took our drink order quickly. Without missing a beat, another waiter brought the best salsa and chips spread I've ever had! The good. We ordered the fajitas mixtas and a chicken taco salad. Despite being very busy, our food came out in about 15 minutes, which was just enough time to sample all the awesome salsa. Both of our meals had a decent amount of fresh guac, pico and sour cream. The chicken and steak in my fajitas was tender and cooked perfectly. The bad. My only complaints would be the seasoning on the fajitas, which was ok but would have been better if it was just simple salt/pepper/garlic. Also, the parking in the stipmall is horrible, especially if you drive a truck or larger vehicle. This isn't the restaurants fault but worth mentioning. The ugly. Overall, we both enjoyed our food and the general atmosphere. The service was fast, friendly and efficient. I love this place! But everytime I come here the waitress' are so rude! Every time I come I ask for extra salsa and they give me one little cup. I speak Spanish, and I can hear them talk about me. It is authentic Mexican food with an extensive menu. In FORREST PLAZA across the street from Badcock furniture in Grovetown. First impression on walking into the restaurant is damn the furniture is nice. All the tables and chairs are made from sturdy, beautiful wood imported from Mexico through Texas. They've got the place dolled up for Christmas so go there while it's still decked out. Bless these people with your money not just bc they deserve it but, because the food warrants the praise. First time at this location and it was wonderful. This restaurant really cares about the customers. Most of the Mexican restaurants in the area likes their customers but here, they love their customers. Service definitely received the highest accolades as our waitress was tentative to our table of 9. It was already busy for lunch and she really was doing the best job I have seen in awhile from a waitress. The atmosphere is absolutely awesome as the music and people make this place more enjoyable. As for the food, the chips were fantastic to start with. They had 4 different kinds of sauce that can be used to dip with; mild, medium, hot, and spicy guacamole. And I ordered the Huevos Con Chorizo which was served with three hot and fresh tortillas with the meal. It came in a foil like how my Mexican friends in Arizona did it. Flour tortillas was absolutely scrumptious with the rice, beans, and eggs with chorizo. Made 3 small burritos and ate the rest of the meal by scraping each slivering food. If you look at my picture, I started to put the spicy guacamole sauce on my flour tortilla before I realize I didn't take a photo yet So delicious! Definitely give this place a try. Prices are very cheap for lunch menu. Especially during lunch. Also, had a few people tell me they have stuff not on the menu that you can find on their website and tell them. Tacos were fresh and the tortillas are homemade which definitely adds better taste to the tacos IMO. The margaritas are delicious but just be careful.. they are big! If you are looking for authentic Mexican food and drinks, this is your spot! I usually judge authenticity on my own experiences plus the support I see from the community the establishment represents. This restaurant is heavily supported by the Mexican community, which tells me this food reminds them of home, its as good as what they would prepare themselves. For this reason and for the unchanging deliciousness of their offerings this is my family's go to place especially on Sundays....because of the Posole. The restaurant has had a bit of a makeover in which they added more tables and expanded the bar. The location is super clean, nicely decorated and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. If I could only give half a star, I would. This place was totally disgusting I got a meal called the soldier, and it was kind of aptly named. It tasted like out of date MRIs. It had a rice face, with shrimp and beef. The price on the menu is $12. I ended up paying $18 for this dish. And I couldn't eat it. It was disgusting. The rice was gummy, and it had four shrimp. They tasted old. The beef was not very good either. The only thing edible on the dish was a salad, and that was not that good. The guacamole tastes like it came out of a can or something. It was gross. Somehow I ended up paying over $21 for this meal. The prices on the menu do not reflect what they charge. And it certainly was not worth even the $12. The quessabirria my friend suggested was not on the menu so there was a bit of a hickup getting things conveyed. The winter/server was amazing, I should have gotten his name, but I'm sure if they read this they'll know who the young man is. Normally its annoying when someone rushes off super fast before everyone can get a word in, however! As fast as he leaves he returns. He's quick! *Boom* you have water, drink, salsa, chips...etc. He was in cheetah-mode! But not overworked, or sweating. Which is something I look for and can often mean a place is understaffed. They have a beautiful fishtank there and I really liked the atmosphere. As is with many Hispanic cultures they're wonderfuly family centric, extremely hospitable cultures and that generally extends to their businesses. We went to the Mexican restaurant up the street from hereat first - seemed weird a crowd hanging out the parking lot. As we went in I noticed the place was packed and loud. As we waiting at reception a FIGHT broke out in the back of the place. I told my wife we're outta here. We noticed Rinconcito down the street - a parking space at front of the door - walked in to an elderly man strumming a guitar singing Mexican folk songs! Several booths open - waiter says sit wherever you like. I noticed on the sign just inside cheap jumbo margaritas rocks or frozen! Extensive menu with very reasonable prices. The chips, salsa, and queso were a 5. The margaritas are strong but they use a mix instead of fresh squeezed lime juice. It is strong and rimmed with tajin, so I give it a solid 4. The lunch special was okay, but the price was outstanding. The standout was the guacamole salad. It had a nice jalapeño kick there just wasn't enough of it. If I could sub more guacamole for beans, I would. The chile relleno was good except for the ranchero sauce. That is just because I am not a fan of ranchero sauce in general but it was still tasty and the breading was not too eggy. They use real poblano peppers. Where can you get an entree for under $7 and it not come from a drive thru? The service was good. Attentive but not intrusive. This place reminds me of a place at 5 Points in Corpus Christi I used to frequent in the 90s only the food is better here. Authentic, family ran vibe. I'm going to dig deep on this one...deep into the pit of euphemisms to capture my initial response. Okay, so the theme for this review is, "What in the Sam Hill was that?". Normally I would be annoyed and angry with the food but this time it just made me laugh at the absurdity of what was called Mexican Food. So we ordered takeout and upon opening the containers we thought we got the wrong order and then all of a sudden no one knew who ordered what. Needless to say, there was a lot of confusion. Upon peering inside the quesadillas and referring back to the menu, we started figuring it out. Now I'm not new to the Mexican food scene, so this wasn't a novice mistake. I'm going to chalk it up to lack of descriptions on the menu and leaving too much to the imagination. For instance, my daughter got a kids meal that stated: Burrito, Rice and Beans. What she got was ground beef rolled up in a soft tortilla sandwiched between rice and beans. None of us can remember if it had sauce or cheese on top but it doesn't matter, it wasn't a burrito even by kid standards. I ordered letter "E." on the vegetarian menu which states: spinach quesadilla, potatoes enchilada, cheese quesadilla, mushroom quesadilla. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to pick one or if I got them all?! Either way, I assumed they came with beans and rice, like all of my other Mexican dining experiences. Well, you know what happens when we assume...you don't get rice and beans. In fact, you get a weird potatoes enchilada that is smothered with red sauce and literally has French fries inside. All I could do was shake my head and laugh. Please, whoever made this walk me through the thought process and how you felt that was a good decision. The other quesadillas had this icky white cheese. It tasted like the equivalent of melted Velveeta Cheese, only it wasn't orange. The mouthfeel was nasty, it coated my teeth...ewww! All I could do was laugh as my four year old is chowing down on the French fry enchilada. So, I'm going to move past that whole mess and go for the tortilla chips salsa. Don't let me down...don't let me down...WHAT IN THE SAM HILL?!?! Again, I pull out the same euphemism because it was that disappointing and all I can do is smh and laugh. The chips had no flavor/lacked salt and the salsa was watery and flavorless. Horrible. Awful. Laughable actually. I wouldn't try them again, rather I would ask them to try their own dishes and see if they feel it best represents "Mexican food." Clearly something is amiss. read more

Really it was the star rating and number of reviews that pulled us to Taqueria Mi Rinconcito, as we first got into town that evening for dinner. 4 stars and over 75 reviews must be good, no? You can find TMR in a little strip off of wrightsboro road, and it's not quite a hole in the wall, but you can lose site of it if you aren't looking for it. As we came in, chips and salsa hit the table almost immediately, followed by drink orders. Chips were nice, crispy and warm, but the salsa tasted watered down. I ordered the Chicken soup ($8.50) and one beef hard shell taco ($2). The taco came with beef, a little lettuce and cheese. The flavor of the meat really wasn't there, and adding a little salsa to it also didn't help, due to the salsa still being watered down. The chicken soup, which practically every Mexican restaurant I've been to has a soup that's bursting with flavor, but this one was kinda bland also. Inside the tomato based chicken soup was tomato, chicken chunks, cilantro, onion, avocado (I left this out), green bell pepper and a few jalapeños all over rice. It was a nice sized bowl, but I ended up taking this to go, and not finishing it. Customer service was just fine, and service was fast enough, with plenty of room to sit. There's also a full bar if you like, and while parking isn't expansive, you don't have to fight hard for a spot. Is Taqueria Mi Rinconcito a bad place? Nope. If you want a meal, they've got you covered, but I'm giving it 2 stars because I have had better. Can't say I'll never return, but it may be a very long while before I do. read more

I came tonight for dessert but unfortunately I was told they don't serve the changos that late at night so I decided on cheesecake but was talked out of it so I settled on a side order of rice and beans.
