Love Habibi's but the last few times have been a left down. I first had the food at their Anaheim location but they closed that location down so I drive to Chino wherever I am craving it. The first couple of times were good but the man cashier is awful at getting orders right. Today I went in and ordered some loaded fries with 2 tenders. I asked for a mild and a hot tender (we previously met the owner and he said we could do this). He charged us for 2 complete loaded fries orders, I asked for a refund and just told them to refund the mild and keep the hot loaded fries. The cashier pointed fingers and blamed me for not ordering correctly. Then he finally agreed to refund one of the fries. When I got my order, the spice was not there and realized he had canceled my hot order. I specifically made sure to tell him multiple times to KEEP the hot. Sucks to have the cashier put the blame on you. I could feel the cashier getting annoyed at me. I was nervous to go tell them they got my order wrong so I instead asked if they could sell me some hot powder since my order wasn't spicy enough. They refused. I asked if they had hot sauce and they said no. They did nothing to help my situation. This is not the first time this same man cashier has gotten our order wrong. The previous time, they also forgot to include our waffle. I am truly disappointed. I want to give the other locations a chance because I really do like the food when they get the order right. read more

I've tried a lot of Hot Chicken places in my time and they all can't be winners. I've had some where the spice levels were way out of whack with what their signs were saying, either too mild or too spicy. I've had some where the portion sizes were on the dinky side. And I've even had one blind me when their napkins inadvertently soaked up up some spices and I wiped it on my eyes. But I think Habibi's is the most common problem from making a decent hot chicken tender from a good one, their tenders were a little dry. Not only that but they were a little flat, making them resemble more like mini-schnitzels or pounded chicken cutlets. That may have contributed to the dryness problem. Don't mistake me, the spice levels were good. The extra hot level, my default, was just at the upper range of what I like. Any more and I wouldn't have been able to finish because my mouth would've burned down like a forest fire. But it doesn't matter how good your spice levels are if the chicken pieces themselves are not super appetizing. To compound the issue, the fountain drinks had yet to be connected or activated so I was forced to drink bottled drinks. That's not something you want to do when you're fighting a losing battle with the volcano in your mouth cavity and require constant soda dousing. I'm still of the opinion if you're serving chicken this spicy, you need access to sodas like they were bubbling out of the earth itself. The staff was nice, the space was nice and comfortable. If they can fix the dry chicken problem and get the soda machine in a stable condition, they may have a winner here. But until that happens I don't think I'll be coming back. There are too many better hot chicken places out there that I don't need to settle for Habibi's. read more

We came here for dinner. It was completely empty during dinner rush hour. Seating was a free-for-all, but the service was kind - likely because it was empty, the food was brought out to us. Since the soda fountain was out of service (as the location is new), we were given cold bottles of water when we asked for water. Tables have ketchup, tobasco, and honey. Overall, the food was mediocre at best. The chicken was juicy, and the quantity you get for what you pay for is great, but the overall quality wasn't that great. The seasoning on the chicken didn't impart too much flavor, the sauce was bland, and the coleslaw uninspired. The fries felt like they were underdone, and weren't seasoned. The mac and cheese within the loaded fries would be your run-of-the-mill generic mac and cheese: overcooked and tasteless. Rounding up to a 3/5, since the honey helped make the food more bearable, the portions are generous, and the service is great. read more

Halal hot chicken? That's a sentence I never thought I'd utter, but I'm glad I did! I stopped by Sunday afternoon. There were only two people working (both BOH but one came out to place our orders. He spoke in broken English but gave us great hospitality. He even offered us complimentary sauces. We ordered Combo #3 (1 tender, 1 sandwich, and a side of fries), 2 single tenders, and 1 sandwich in spice level "Hot". I can handle my heat so the "hot" was just right. You could tell the chicken didn't have a marinade to it and that it relied heavily on the spices seasoning & sauce. It reminded me of Cane's so that was slightly disappointing - I found myself having to dip my chicken tender in sauce quite a few times. I will say that the combo was very filling and priced reasonably well. With a nice addition that they open late, I'm sure Habibi's Hot Chicken will be a treat to those who want a late night meal after watching a movie at Cinemark. read more

Tonight I thought I'd try something new but was severely disappointed. I arrived maybe a half hour before they closed (online they said they are open until midnight and the open sign was on and visible on the window as well) and immediately upon arrival I was met with a cold abrupt response. The guy working there was mopping and told me "Stop. Look down." in a really annoyed tone and I was like "oh okay sorry" and backed away a bit. Then I asked if they were open (bc of the giant glowing open sign outside) and he said "No we're closed. What? Did you need something?" Like excuse me? I was fully prepared to give you guys my business and to try something new but this interaction was super rude and distasteful that I just left. What do you mean "What? Did you need something?" It was as if I was bothering him for wanting to give this place my money and time. I wish I could convey the tone at which this was said to me but it was so abrupt and rude. I understand I arrived somewhat late, but don't have your hours online say you're open, your open sign on, your doors opened, and your employees running the place give unprofessional responses. I love this place! Best chicken! Best fries! Also the sauce is so bomb. They don't have that strong pickle flavor that most chicken places have in their batter- I don't like the powerful pickle taste. Keep that in mind. It was either too salty or lacking real spice depth, and the heat level didn't match what I ordered. The fries were okay but nothing special. On the second call, my mother spoke with the manager, Luis, who was rude and dismissive from the very start of the conversation until the end. Instead of trying to help, he repeatedly insisted the issue was the delivery driver's fault and refused to take any responsibility. This went back and forth for several minutes with no attempt at resolution. When we asked to speak with someone above him, he claimed there was no one higher than him except the owner, yet refused to provide the owner's name or any contact information. Only after we pushed back did he suddenly offer to remake the order and provide free food, but he still would not give us the information we were asking for. He then hung up the call without resolving anything. A manager hanging up on customers and refusing accountability is completely unacceptable. read more

Habibi's Hot Chicken is easily one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in a very long time, which is disappointing because the place has so much potential. Unfortunately, the food completely missed the mark across the board. The mac and cheese was shockingly bad. It lacked any flavor and, honestly, I'm not convinced there was any actual cheese involved because I couldn't taste even a hint of it. It was bland, flat, and watery. The "Texas toast" was just a plain slice of regular sandwich bread. No butter, no seasoning, no flavor at all--and it tasted stale. Calling it Texas toast is extremely generous. The chicken itself was another letdown. The batter and fry were terrible, with a coating that lacked structure and fell apart immediately. While the flavor was okay, the crisp was nonexistent, which is kind of the whole point of hot chicken. The fries were soggy and added to the overall disappointment. Looked nothing like the photos I seen online, the photos were extremely deceiving The only positives here were that the customer service was okay and the inside of the restaurant is very visually pleasing. The space is nice, modern, and clearly has a lot of potential. Unfortunately, that potential is completely wasted on food that needs serious reevaluation. He was very rude over the phone and refused to fix the situation. This employee needs to properly be trained to solve situations like this. He hung up on me after I asked for his supervisor's name. Ordered the Yoon's fries and flavor was great in fries, chicken, and coleslaw. However, for a dish that's called fries there was maybe a handful at most. For a large box there was maybe 80% coleslaw, a handful of fries and one tender chopped up. If you love coleslaw maybe this is the dish for you but I would think $14 is an insane price to pay for it. The mrs and i went to a location in Glendora a while back and it was amazing. This location opened recently much closer to us and we were still stunned by how great this place is. Starting with the food we got a combo 1 and shosho's loaded fries and not only was it very tasty, it had a great bit of spice, and though it looks a bit pricey, the amount of food you receive is more than enough to make up for it. One order of the loaded fries would be more than enough for 2 people and maybe even 3, we only got the combo for a bit more variety but we were more than happy with the price and the quality and quantity of the food. The staff was also very kind to us and brought our food to our table so we could enjoy while listening to some Bruno Mars which is definitely another plus from us. Overall this place was empty but we believe this place deserves to be much more popular given how great our experience read more
