We've been customers since this casual place first opened, usually ordering the salads and occasionally one of the sandwiches or burgers. I can reliably get fresh produce, nicely grilled chicken and meet my goal of trying to eat healthy, whole ingredients most of the week. If you want more protein, add some grilled Ahi tuna. They recently changed the salad line-up and serveware. Lately, my fave has been the Harvest Chop Salad. I like the cubed apples, golden beets and pickled onions. The dressing's always on the side for custom drizzling. Oh, the tempura green beans I occasionally get are consistently crispy and tasty, too. Best hot and dipped in ranch sauce. It's all about balance, tipping the scales more toward healthy than not. The Habit offers choices. Inside are mostly booths, comfortable, with seating outside under patio umbrellas. Busy at lunch, lots of orders to-go or being picked up. Ordering can be at the counter or at kiosks. Fountain drinks are readily accessible. The music, today a bouncy & nostalgic playlist from "Habit Radio" care of iHeartRadio, pumps through Bose ceiling speakers. Made me want to upgrade my home system. I like Habit Burger. They deliver a quality, tasty product. But on 5/17 they fell short of expectations. This is due to corporate decisions, not the friendly staff behind the counter. We usually order an ahi burger, but on that day I wanted a hot burger on a wheat bun. However, a whole wheat bun is not a menu option on the kiosk. So after ordering I immediately talked to a person behind the counter who wrote it on my ticket. But the cook didn't see the addition so I received a regular bun. I walked back to the counter, asked for a wheat bun. About Eight minutes later, still no replacement bun. I walked back again. The cook puts a naked cold bun in a paper tray to give to me. No sauce or pickles included. I go back, tell them I want a hot bun. He heats one, again a naked bun. I attempt to transfer some sauce and pickles onto the new bun. I wanted a hot, juicy burger. Not a cold dry bun with a now- lukewarm patty. I know, not an earthshaking problem. But a whole wheat bun should be on the kiosk menu. Corporate, are you reading this? read more

The people upfront took the order correctly, but unfortunately, the back never gets it right I just don't think they read the instructions. This spot is located in the Safeway or Lucky shopping center on the right hand side of N Livermore Ave exit off of 580. They've got kiosks for you to order at, like most places do now. We ordered some shakes, chicken bites, & sides of onion rings to go as we weren't getting any burgers today. The chicken bites here are pretty good for a burger spot. A little disappointed. My wife has the app and wanted to do the cheese burger BOGO, along with her sister. Mind you, she and her sister plan out everything in advance. For example, when we take a trip she always screenshots her boarding pass so she doesn't have to fumble with an app or a bad connection at the airport. Well, same for this BOGO. She and her sister screenshot-ed the BOGO code days ago so it would be at their fingertips when they went to order. Only to be told the coupon had expired! What? The promotion runs through today (21st). It was then we discovered the BOGO is only good for one hour after you look at it. She felt very cheated and very embarrassed. RANCH!!! They literally forget the ranch every. Single. Time. And not just as a side; but also as a dressing for my salad. That's so infuriating when you get an order delivered and have no dressing to put on your salad. Every single time we order from or go to this location, they screw something up. Every. Time. Last time I went in, I ordered my burger and a side Caesar. When I got my order, there was a Caesar dressing but no salad. I went up to the counter and said my salad was missing and she said, "You didn't order a salad, just a side of dressing." On their ticket when you order a side caesar salad, it is printed as "side Caesar" on the receipt. And who just asks for a side of Caesar dressing?! If she was unsure, she should have asked to clarify. Anyways, I reordered the Caesar SALAD. This time, we ordered for delivery and has specified "include napkins". They gave us literally one napkin and no straw for the drink. I looked at the ticket and on the bottom there is literally a checklist for utensils, napkins, and ranch which made me even more confused as to why they always forget the ranch. The best time to stop in at any Habit Burger is just after opening at 10:30. There's no line and the food will come out fast. I dine inside as I don't wanna mess up my car interior trying to eat a big fat juicy burger! I get the double Char Burger with cheese and extra grilled onions. Price with tax is over $8.00 bucks, but I suppose that's the price of a fast food burger these days .... just that this one from Habit is worth it. Forget that Whopper! Service is fast and efficient and my burger came out. It didn't look as nice as I've had in the past with all the meat and melted cheese pushing out proudly between the buns. This one was kinda all recessed back into the bun. Not the best pics, but oh well. The taste was just as good though as I've come to expect from this juicy morsel of a burger. The taste in the mouth is like nothing else ... no Double Double will top this! Here's a pro tip: to get the maximum beefy charbroiled taste, turn the burger upside down with the meat on the bottom when you bite in, this places the juicy flavored meat first on your tongue and you'll get better flavor that way, as opposed to eating regular with the meat on top of the veggies. As a UCSB grad, going to The Habit was part of the Santa Barbara/Goleta culture. Every time we get back to SB, The Habit was a required stop. Now that vibe (albeit more modern) is in my backyard. First, the burgers are awesome. Santa Barbara Char is my fav but they are all good. Second, what burger joint offers tempura green beans? The Habit! Good tasting and good for you! Fries are also very good. Third, where do you see a seasonal special for garlic roasted brussels sprouts? Didn't try them on this trip but will definitely return to check them out. I saw some prior reviews on the service. All I can say is that our service was 5 star. Very helpful and attentive staff taking our orders, and getting a pager to ping us when the meal is ready is like a higher-end restaurant. That sure beats someone yelling out an order number. First of all, let me just tell the owner that the guy who was at the cashier and took our order on Tuesday, 7/16/19 around 6:15 pm was absolutely must-keep. I believe his name tag said "Max". He was very nice and delivered a GREAT customer service. He smiled to customers, and was very friendly to us. When he wasn't taking orders, he cleaned up tables, and at one point I even saw him opening and holding doors open for senior customers. An absolute gentleman. I hope the owner reads this review. Now, let's get to the food. The food was good, consistent with other Habit Burger establishments. For the first time I ordered the lettuce-wrapped double char burger instead of the regular burger bun. Hey, for those of you paying attention to your calories intake, you'd save about 175 calories by doing this. And boy, my carbs-aware burger was delicious!!! And I could consume it without guilt. We also ordered tempura green beans which was delicious. Crunchy on the outside and still juice on the inside.
