The tomatoes are beefy enough for a good bite, but don't soak into the bread. And who can forget the eponymous pickles? Delicious. Of course, no meal is truly finished without a little sweet treat. And Mr. PIckle's Sandwich Shop understands that! Every one of their sandwiches comes with a gooey, soft, freshly-made chocolate chip cookie. I was hesitant to come here again after reading the reviews. I thought I've been here before and the sandwiches were good. This sandwich shop was on the way to the winery I was visiting. I ordered the Sammie size Mrs. Pickles without bacon on the crunchy Dutch roll. The crunchy Dutch roll was delicious. The top part of the roll still held its crunch, but the bottom piece of bread was all soggy and sandwich fell apart. There were more condiments on my sandwich than meat. It's been years since I've been to a Mr. Pickles and it's just as good as I remember it. I pass this establishment everyday on my way to work and finally make an effort to stop by for a sandwich. As soon as I saw pastrami on the menu I had to order one! CJ's Pastrami comes with mustard and pickles only. That's exactly how I like my pastrami sandwich. I grabbed a bag of Doritos to complete my order to go. I forgot they give you a chocolate chip cookie too. The only change is the price! The Livermore Mr. Pickles location used to be a shining star and a great value in Livermore. That has come to a hard stop. They are now terrible. Every since the store changed hands ~two years ago It's gone from great to pathetic. Because I have been their customer for well over ten years I am on their mailing list. Last week, I received an email that said I could come in for their "Sammie" meal for $7.99, which includes a sandwich, a drink, and potato chips, only to find out this location "is not participating." Yesterday, I went in to get "The Italian" sandwich, which was $10 and has become a $15 sandwich over the past two years. I asked, as I have for well over five years, to swap out the salami for a second portion of pastrami. The manager said I would have to pay an extra $1 to do that swap. I explained to her this store has been making that sandwich that way for me for at least five years, without nickel and dime-ing., She wouldn't budge. I walked out. I tried to remain a faithful customer to them but they have made their message loud and clear. They're not about providing a great sandwich at a palatable price, as they used to be. They're are about ripping customers off by way of pettiness and shrinkflation. Read on: Their portions have shrunk by at least 50% since they changed ownership. They will not honor the deals they send in their email (this was not the first time). The last straw was when they wanted to add that $1 charge for making a change to a sandwich that they have been making for years. I am NOT paying $16 for a sandwich! They have gone beyond absurd. Instead, I went to Jersey Mikes in Dublin, where they gave me a sandwich, with plenty of meat, for $9.50 (they were running a $2 promo which they DID honor). Great sandwiches, but they've become increasingly smaller. I've been ordering the same thing here for years (veggie wrap) and it used to be so big that it could be two meals. Now it is hardly one. In the past, the wrap was so stuffed with vegetables that I couldn't take just one bite from top to bottom - Now, I can easily bite into the whole thing, as it is about half the size of what it used to be. Stopped by here with my boyfriend who said this is the sandwich place to go to as a local Livermorian. I opted for the Mr. Pickles sandwich on dutch crunch with everything on it an it did not disappoint-- the ingredients were fresh, chicken juicy, pickles refreshing, and bacon crispy. Not sure what they put in their sauce but it is like crack and the pepperoncini is such a good addition to the fattiness of the avocado/mayo/cheesiness of it all. It is definitely a well-balanced sandwich, but it comes at a $16 price tag which I consider pricey. You do get a free chocolate chip cookie with each sandwich order, but the price keeps this from being 5 stars. read more

I've been here a few times and those former experiences were fine, I do online orders so I can walk in and right out and make modifications without having to hassle a worker in person and my order is usually correct except for this time. This time I ordered the Big Easy which is chicken salad, I go to pick up my sandwich which was simple enough and then get home and take a first bite to see I was given tuna instead. I just ordered a sandwich and side of potato salad from the Mr Pickles app. I'll say it again...The Mr Pickles app...and chose deliver. Delivery is by Door Dash. Awesome they delivery for everyone. Order arrives and no potato salad in the bag. It happens. I order from this Mr Pickles all the time so cool I'll just give them a call because I've never had an issue. Until now. Explain to the first person. They don't seem to get it. Another person comes on. They said oh just come in and get a potato salad and you can pay them. I'm like uh I already paid and it wasn't deliver. They tell me they don't do delivery and that Door Dash does. Thank you Captain Obvious. I called to place my order 45 minutes early. I would've gotten it in time if not for the problem of finding parking. Note - try to avoid mid afternoon on a Friday! Pro's the food here is really good; it's fresh taste great and isn't small but isn't a full foot long. Con's They TAKE forever to make your order. I ordered on the online app and it took 40 minutes to make 4 sandwiches. I mean they were a bit busy but what a wait. Also when i got there they took another 10 minutes. So 50 minutes on an order is pretty crazy. The food here is great just there wait time and price for what you are getting is a bit crazy; i get it times are changing just know what you are getting into when you order at Mr. Pickle's Sandwich Shop. This place will have people waiting inside and out side they get busy. They have a ton of orders. The food is good it's taste it's fresh. It's a good place to go. My favorite sandwich shop!! Every single time in town this place is a must! The spot has some parking available on the street and a small parking lot on the side with outdoor seating in the patio. Please do yourself a favor and do it simple- get the Mr. Pickles Sandwich on Dutch bread or sourdough, you'll thank me later. I placed an order today for the first time. A friend of mine had told me about how much she likes these sandwiches. Since the pandemic began I have not been eating outside of my home that much so I was looking forward to trying something from a restaurant. I placed an order for a Turkey Hot T, which is supposed to have "turkey, pepper jack, baja sauce and cranberry sauce". Well, I received my sandwich without the Baja sauce and the cranberry sauce! So it was just a plain TURKEY sandwich. What a disappointment!!! The Dutch crunch bread was very good, and the sandwich looked promising but without the sauce it was just a plain no frills turkey sandwich. Sad. The 2 other sandwiches I ordered were fine, and had no errors. Another comment is that I was hesitant to order because I read horror stories on Yelp about the sandwiches taking a lot longer to be ready. I want to mention that the app forgot to tell me that the sandwiches were ready to be picked up. So I entered the store 10 min after the originaly scheduled time because I had no idea if they would be ready or not. Today I ordered two Big Jakes and was completely disappointed upon unwrapping both sandwiches. Both had roast beef on them instead of turkey as advertised. We also had a few modifications to both sandwiches that were listed on the receipt, but not actually carried out on the sandwiches. For example I asked for no pepperoncinis on one of the sandwiches, but still got pepperoncinis on it. Then on the other sandwich, I asked for pepper jack cheese to be subbed in, and it was not. I don't like leaving bad reviews, so I'm going to give this 4 stars and note my experience. I received a buy one, get 50% off another sandwich promo today via email and proceeded to download the app in order to enter the promo. After entering the promo, the app came back as invalid code. I called the store and the manager said that he wasn't doing the promo. Fine, ok, I get it. I proceeded to use Door Dash to order from the same restaurant anyways in an effort to help local business owners. We ordered 2 Big Jakes (turkey sandwiches), but when we received the sandwiches, there was no turkey on either! Everything was perfect down to the salt and pepper. We go to Mr. Pickles ALL the time and this is the first time this happened so I will not leave a bad star rating. We reached out to Door Dash and they were able to reimburse us. Edit/Update: after posting this, I read some of the other reviews and some are very similar...missing MAIN ingredients! You are not McDonalds; I view Mr Pickles a local, small business. I'm sure it's not the establishment as a whole, (maybe the kids that are hired?) but you are seriously misrepresenting and degrading your brand by slacking on the quality of your service. read more
