We came in for dinner and there was no wait. It had been a while since we dined at Baja Fresh so we were curious to see their updated menu. They have a great $10 meal deal right now. We ordered at the counter and waited for our food to come out. We got our drinks and salsa while waiting for our food. Everything came out promptly. I got the shrimp tacos with rice and black beans. Very generous portion sizes, I wasn't able to eat everything. Overall very clean restaurants and great service! read more

Love Baja Fresh. I wanna say that the guy who handed me my order that I called in for was super nice and I always remember them always being so nice in the front and ready to assist. They also gave me all the sauces that I put in my order which sadly a lot of establishments just don't even bother to count or make sure anymore. Hold the beans! Get any meal WITHOUT beans or you'll get a bowl full of beans. Trust me. "Do you want chicken with your beans?" Hold the beans! Pre-pandemic, I used to eat at Baja Fresh at least a couple of times a week. It was my happy place. The salsa bar is gone (probably due to covid but they could get creative and find a way), the portions are greatly reduced, the food was bland and flavorless. My wife wanted to go to Lana Thai and I pressed her to go to Baja Fresh. I owe her a lunch and an apology. Two stars because the woman at the counter was friendly and helpful. This was our first time here and we were greeted by Leslie. She welcomed us as soon as we walked in and while we were looking at the menu she checked in on us. We ended up ordering a chimichanga meal and their 3 tacos special but I asked about the tortilla soup because I wanted to make sure it wasn't too salty or spicy. She insisted in letting us try it to see for ourselves. I tasted it and it was good but decided not to add it to our order. I'm glad we passed on the soup, because we were so full from what we ordered. Everything was so good and Leslie gave us amazing customer service! Hey guys! I'm normally not the kind of girl that comes on here to post negative stuff. This is actually my first review I've ever done a review before. My other half and I decided to go to Baja Fresh because we haven't gone in years. We sat down place seem clean and the staff helped us immensely. All of the sudden a cockroach came out of no where. I was completely disgusted and ask to speak to a manager. The young man gave me his losses phone number but of course it went to voicemail. I want my money back. I'll never go here again. We used to go here all the time on our lunch break. It was always good. Salsa bar had fresh chips etc. It has been about 4 years and wow what a difference. I would say the only hood thing good was the nice woman that worked the counter. The place was run down, no napkins available around the salsa bar, no utensils, no chips etc. No labels as to what salsa was what. Soda machine out of order. The shopping center is run down for sure. My burrito tasted like it was made with last week's ingredients. Needless to say, we will not be back. read more

Unfortunately I have to agree with alot of the more recent reviews here on yelp for Baja Fresh. It has gone downhill in recent years. The Dublin location has closed which I thought was a nicer spot. I think this Livermore spot might be close behind. The location is hidden away on the corner in the same center as Home Depot. The overall location is starting to decline with the parking lot somewhat dirty and unkept. I got the pork taco combo. Comes with 2 tacos, rice, beans, chips, salsa. Taco meat was pretty good, the rice and beans were bland. Service was a tad abrupt. read more

I had to get my birthday burrito and luckily there's still 1 in the area that I work in. It's basically near the office max/Home depot parking lot. The cashier was pretty friendly and patient with taking my order and the actual cook time was very quick, I should mention that it was in the morning so it wasn't busy at all. The burrito itself was very good and so of hit that craving lol. It honestly makes me miss going to Baja Fresh alittle and the ones around Dublin and San Ramon are gone sadly. But, if I see a good coupon or promotional I'll glad drive by this place and hit them up! read more

Visited in a long while and the quality went down significantly. In and out across the street drive thru line was way extended than usual and decided to go here for a take out. Ordered two burritos and a nacho cheese plate. I opened the nacho plate in about 5 minutes after receiving it from the counter and the Cheese was as hard as rock, it was definitely not made for my order but before. Burritos were warm as expected. I love me some Baja Fresh, I've been sad that so many of them have closed over the past decade or so. Unfortunately, this location makes me feel like that isn't such a bad thing. I came here on an early Friday afternoon on the way to Sacramento, wanting to get my Baja burrito fix and get my kids something they'd like. It's been a while since this visit so I don't remember if I mistakenly ordered my burrito with pico de gallo but I've never been a fan of their pico, so usually I order the burrito without and pour in their mango salsa instead. But, the burrito had the pico, which I only discovered when I left. Even if they'd prepared it properly it wasn't nearly as good as I remember from other locations. I got my older daughter a shrimp taco, and while she loves shrimp, she refused to eat it. I'm not a huge shrimp fan but I tried the taco anyway and it was one of the worst I'd ever tasted. My younger daughter got a cheese quesadilla and had no complaints so I ordered another for my older daughter since it was the only safe option. Service was so-so. I really wish this visit had been better but I don't think I'll be back. read more

First time here and let just say I was very surprised at how good my food was. I had the vampiro tacos with asada meat, pinto beans and guacamole. The meat was well cooked but juicy and tender. It had a smoky open flame taste to it and it was well marinated. The the taco was not soggy. Cheese was perfectly melted on the tortilla to create a crust. The pickled purple onion on the tacos with the queso fresco complemented each other. The pinto beans were not overly cooked, burnt or extra salty. My wife had a salad half shrimp and half asada or steak and she loved her salad. She liked the way the shrimp were marinated and cooked. Big hefty portions. Service was great, very friendly. We stopped by after work on our way home and it was mostly empty. Very chill and clean place. I'd say family friendly. They have cheese quesadillas for the kids. This was my first time at this location and my second time ordering from Baja fresh. I was very happy with my taco salad. I ordered the option with no meat. It had plenty of beans cheese salsa and sour cream. I also asked for three additional salsa containers when picking up my order and I got them and I was very grateful for that. A taco salad needs to have plenty of sauce for optimal flavor. These taco salad is much better than the one from El Pollo Loco. Recently while at a friends house I got a cooking lesson on how to warm tortillas - what to look for to see if they were done properly and thoroughly. First thing I noticed of course was the beautifully prepared tortillas - then the large portion. I ordered the Baja burrito with chicken. I was prepared so quickly given it was Friday after work during a popular time to go. Right after you order head to the drink machine, go to the salsa bar and start making a sample of all the different salsas - they even have a mango one. Before you know it your food will be ready. Its fast... super fresh too... but what I liked best about this burrito is now 4 hours later it sits well with me. Some other more authentic Mexican places I simply can't go to. The feeling I have 2 hours later suggests the "hole in the wall places" make food with large quantities of lard and whatever else. Not here. This feels like simple, high quality meats without the mystery ingredients. I think a direct competitor to this place is Chipotle. I prefer the burritos more here. For one when I lift the burrito up it doesn't a bunch like at Chipotle. I never order burritos at Chipotle becuase they swim all over and so I usually get a salad or bowl to avoid the water mess I think from the beans. Again, here the burrito was done well without the assembly line mess I find at Chipotle. Ambiance: Its bright but not uncomfortably so. The theme is black and white, cheerful music plays and you have a choice of bar height and standard height seating areas. Music plays at a moderate level. The service: great :) Diligent young crowd works here. Friendly and fast. Polite - what a great crew. Clean restaurant... squeaky clean. The only place for improvement was the soda machine. One of the flavors was out of service and all of the sodas seemed a bit flat. There were bubbles but not as strong as they normally are from a machine. Its a subtle thing that most probably wouldn't notice. Also I didn't try the ice tea but I'm not sure if it was the freshly brewed type or the type mixed with drink powder. 8-( I love Baja Fresh with non-toxic, flavorful food! I had my first disappointing experience there. I ordered takeout. I ordered the grilled fish tacos with pico de gallo removed and asked for a container of mango salsa. I didn't spring for the guacamole pronto add on because the grilled fish taco comes with avocado. Instead, I got the breaded fish with nothing but cabbage and a container of pico de gallo. It's not bad but it's not what I asked for and Baja Fresh does not allow you to contact them about issues. read more

Haven't been to Baja Fresh since I was a kid, and I was pretty disappointed. The flavor profile is greasy and bland, and overall, much worse than any actual taqueria. The only bright spot was the seasoning on the carne asada, but the rest of the meal was forgettable at best. Somehow, after a 20 minute wait, my burrito came out cold, even though it was wrapped in foil. Seriously, how does that even happen? I recommend you save your money, and spend it at Chipotle if you want some actual flavor. read more
