Went in for lunch today. The front desk employee seemed very busy and overwhelmed but managed to handle everyone's request. Service has always been great but today was a great enough experience that I needed to yelp about it. Financial times are tough so when fast food places send us coupons, we use them. This was the first time getting any from here, so I visited the closest one to me which happened to be the Montebello location. When you walk in, there are kiosks, but since I had a coupon , I wanted to talk to a live person. I stood around with the coupon in hand, waiting for someone to notice me since the registers were empty. Then up comes this young man who acknowledged me wholeheartedly as if he could sense my frustration. I gave him my order and some special instructions, and he understood and repeated everything back to me clearly and accurately. This young man was on the ball! Not your typical youngster who keeps a straight face, openly expresses boredom, and gives you the wrong stuff since he could care less since its not his order. I was beyond satisfied with the service. Food on the other hand, I couldn't take a picture because it wasn't flattering. Everyone can get it you just go to their website or download the app and fill out including birthday very simple. We arrival and look st the menu and see what my wife wants to order. My decided to get the Char burger combo and also Brussels spouts they have on the menu. They give us a buzzer to know to pick up the food. Couple minutes later it buzz I pick up our food. I use to come weekly to this establishment. I even went to to the original habit in Santa Barbara. There use to be long lines here in the Montebello location. Now, the food is not the same. The burger meal was over $14 and the burger was smaller and cheaper looking than a cheeseburger from McDonald's. We should've just went there, or better yet, In n Out. I've been to this Habit a few times before. My boyfriend and I loved their burgers and overall menu. We never had an issue until recently. My boyfriend and I had dinner there yesterday, and I ordered what I always order: The original char. After we get our food, we sit and enjoy our meals. As I take my fifth bite of my burger, I notice I couldn't chew something and pull it out... revealing an INSECT that appeared to be a COCKROACH! I spit out my food immediately, I was in complete horror. I immediately ran to the bathroom. Meanwhile, my boyfriend talks to a regular employee about the incident who then talks to their manager. As they are talking, my boyfriend overhears the manager say "Well what do they want me to do about it?" The worker comes back and my boyfriend tells her that regardless of whether we get a full refund or not, the issue needs to be addressed. The worker then gives my boyfriend a full refund of our meal, and a number to call to discuss about the incident. We leave the Habit, and on our way home we realize that the number they gave us is just a call back number to their Habit Grill location and that they didn't return our receipt. My boyfriend drives all the way back to the location to retrieve our receipt and was able to talk about the incident with a different manager who was more attentive about the situation. I will post pictures of the insect, viewers discretion is advised because it's absolutely revolting. We are extremely disappointed not only with the incident but with the way the situation was handled. The manager on site during the time of the incident didn't approach us at all to address the issue by finding the source of the problem, and she made an unnecessary remark. As for any manager or supervisor reading this, ensure that you attend to an emergency, regardless of your skepticism or if your shift is coming to an end. I've always appreciated the food, but because of the incident and the way that it was handled I'll never go to Habit Grill again. read more

tell the guy with the glasses working the register to tell me, the client, what's happening. I came to pick up the food that we ordered online. I went to the register and the dude goes to check on the food status and I'm just standing there waiting and thinking he's getting the last of it ready.
