Tough to write a review from just one burger that my friend took out, but I have his experience to go from with it. So: He's on the road. We were discussing burgers yesterday and Habit came up. I'd never eaten at one. He wanted one. Perfect. Pulls in at 8:45, takes a few minutes to figure out the ordering kiosk. I will therefore note this is an issue to anticipate. The order itself didn't seem to take too long. As for what came home with my friend: * Intrigued by the dragonfruit limeade. Would be something to keep in mind if I find myself at Habit again. * I enjoyed my burger. The patty was the weakest part, very plain and underwhelming. But the portabello mushroom and associated toppings? Mwah. That all made the sandwich. But the best burger places know how to make the meat score points. * My friend got the tempura green beans. Apparently those were just OK, maybe not tempuraed enough. I noticed when looking at the sides, every dipping sauce costs money besides ketchup packets (m'eh) and none of them really looked that interesting to me. So the upsides? Good value, tasty mushrooms. The downsides? Limited selections, uninspiring burger meat. I'll call it a strong 3 stars and if I do end up here (or another Habit) I will reconsider. read more

First time at Habit. A friend recommended as we usually go to 5 Guys or Shake Shack. My son and I had a burger, fries and soft drink. Burger and fries were very tasty. Way better than Shake Shack and comparable with 5 Guys. The best part, this place was way less expensive than both other places. We dined in, the place was clean and staff was friendly. We came by last night and had a nice meal. We were greeted warmly upon entering, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We ordered a few burgers, fries, and onion rings. All were very good and were made fresh and hot. We decided to eat there ( we preordered ), and it had plenty of seating and a pleasant atmosphere. Today was my first time dining at this Habit Burger Grill location and I thought it was excellent! The restaurant is located in a strip mall on Rt 46 and Parsippany Road. There's plenty of parking and plenty of seating inside. Since I'd been to a Habit Burger in Florham Park and liked it, I had high expectations coming here. The food and the service lived up to them! I ordered a Charburger with cheese and a strawberry shake. Both were excellent! The burger was done just right and there's ketchup and peppers at the condiment table to add to it. Customer service was very good! The server who made the shake brought it to my table and said if I didn't like it, he'd make me another. When does that ever happen? Burgers are contentious and subjective, so keep that in mind when I tell you that in my book, The Habit isn't as juicy, beefy, or satisfying as Smashburger or Shake Shack, either of which I'd go to first. The restaurant is clean, and the service is customer-focused. I put them through their paces by changing my mind about wanting mayo after I'd placed my order. Indeed, they handled it without giving me any grief. If I'd liked the food more, I'd give it another star. But the onion rings were all inconsistent - some were only breading, others had stringy onion circles inside - and the burgers needed to be amped up on beef flavor by at least 4X. There was no hard sear, nor crispy bits on the edges of the beef that come from those Maillard reactions, which I really want from a burger grill. read more

Burger concepts are a dime a dozen with most focusing on how many toppings and condiments they can trowel between the buns meaning you'll need a pile of napkins and a power washer after you're done. I'm looking at you Five Guys. Sorry, but where I come from the beef makes the burger and if you want to throw some cheese on it, knock yourself out. The Habit Burger Grill gets it... simplicity rules. So, forget the landfill in a bag... grill up a tasty burger with some equally excellent fries and onion rings and you have smiles to spare. That wasn't so hard. I'm just hoping that their recent sale to YUM Brands (Pizza Hut, KFC, Taco Bell) doesn't unleash the corporate efficiency experts looking for scalps and savings. This store Staff at this store was really nice. You could tell that they really enjoyed working at this establishment. They greeted you as soon as you walked. Our first time visiting after seeing ad on FB. The place was clean and plenty of seating. The menu wasn't clear about the combos, some sandwiches didn't come with fries and drink which makes things more expensive when ordering each item separately. The crispy chicken sandwich, the meat was too hard and not what we expected and we weren't satisfied with it. The burgers were fresh and tasted great. The crispy green bean fries were kinda bland and didn't really have a flavorful taste. I like the options they had for condiments, but they were limited with drinks due to broken soda fountain machine, and no free water. It was good experience for the first time. Have to say that the folks running Habit care. I was turned off by an overzealous mayo lover that made my burger when I visited for the first time. I was offered a few char burgers on the house as compensation. I have to say if you ask them to hold off on the mayo and sauces you can tell that it is actually a solid burger. Beef was tasty and the burger was well cooked and it was great to experience the actually burger and not the mayo. Additionally, I have to say the onion rings are delicious! It's been a while since I had come here for burgers. Although there are a lot of different burgers around this area, I love how this place is cheap and can fill you up. It's also right next to a gym, so sometimes around dinner time it can get a bit crowded. A regular charburger is only $3.85 which includes lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and mayo. Adding cheese will cost a bit extra, but not too pricey. The burgers are super juicy and a great size. I also ordered the onion rings which are delicious. This is probably the best burger for your money. Our favorite is the teriyaki cha. It's a little messy to eat because of the sauce but it's so flavorful. We like that besides fries they have other options such as sweet potatoes fries and onion rings. Their shakes are ok, I like the ones from shake shack better. Placed my online order, and it was done in the time I requested. Picked up the order, got home, and sat down to eat with the family. Checked my receipt to make sure I placed the correct order for everyone. UNFORTUNATELY, my order and my wife's order had GRILLED ONIONS! Clearly, on my receipt, it says NO GRILLED ONIONS for every order on there, and two of the burgers get onions. So now I wonder where the disconnect is and if there is a system in place where these orders are being checked before they are sent out. Definitely a heavy charred flavor so if you're not into that taste then this is not the burger spot for you. This place has the juiciest burger I've had. I didn't expect too much because of their cheap prices, but they actually have one of the best burgers in this area in my opinion. I got Teriyaki Char Burger and my girlfriend got regular Char Burger. Her burger was just $3.85 and mine was $4.80 ($4.10 without cheese)! The onion rings were also good, with perfectly crunchy outside and soft inside. I believe this place opened up about 3 years ago, but the inside was still clean as new. Food: The burgers here are always delicious and quick. If you want to get food as soon as possible this is your place. I really enjoyed my burger from here. For starters, the staff here was absolutely nice and pleasant to interact with. Secondly, the burgers are mostly affordable and delicious. I loooove a flame grilled burger and that's exactly what they offer. Their burgers aren't cooked until you order and cooked to your exact liking. Did I mention that they flame grill them? They taste so yummy and fill you up. There's a million burger places around but none that I can really compare in regards to price and flavors imo.
