I have volunteered for this organization for the last 5 years and have had the pleasure of meeting some of the volunteers and board members. The fact that this person who left a review that was completely false! There is not 1 person who is a breeder associated with this organization! We bring these dogs into our personal homes with all their baggage and try to get them healthy and socialized with our own dogs. We do this because we care deeply for this breed of dog. We have owned this breed for years and know they are prone to have allergies to everything! Some dogs come into our homes with almost no hair, their ears and feet so swollen with yeast because of lack of care. It takes months to rehabilitate, re-socialize them into members of our families so we can find them their forever homes. Yes I've loved each and everydog that has come into our home and I work really hard at placing them into a home that is perfect for them! I would move into each home I've placed a dog into and felt very confident with their placements. I hear from almost everyone of the homes I've placed dogs into and have contact with the surrendering families if they want to know updates on their dogs I always will communicate with them. Until you can walk in a volunteer footprints to love unconditionally for months and then find them the absolutely best home placement for them than please say nothing! Everyone with Bulldoghavennw.org is a volunteer with their homes, family, time and love. Not one person is "hoarding" these dogs. Our end goal is to rehabilitate them and find them their forever homes. We don't get the perfect dogs into our rescue, we get the dogs who are needing extensive medical care and dogs who have not been socialize. We volunteers care so deeply for this breed that we give up our time, homes and families to help them. Please be respectful, just because you were not the right fit for one dog dosent mean you won't be a great fit for another dog. You may not get what you want, you get what you need. We adopted our boy Moo from them and they spoke with me prior to adoption for hours to make sure we were a good fit for the dog and visa versa. They are taking in dogs that are expensive to care for and have lots of health issues (it's the breed). Do your research before rescuing a bulldog they are amazing dogs but they do have a lot of special needs. They are couch potatoes but also have a lot of energy and are stubborn as a mule. But you will not find a better breed to be a Velcro dog. Bulldog Haven still checks in to see how he is settling over 6 months later. When we are ready for another bulldog we will be using them again. If you are not looking to add to your family please consider donating! They are doing thier best to help as many dog as possible and it's not cheap! Please be patient in the application process these things take time and they will get back to you! The staff are incredibly dedicated and passionate about what they do. Treehouse offers many services to help foster kids have a more stable and normal life. From tutoring and college preparation, to school supplies and clothing, to after school care and summer activities, Treehouse improves the lives of thousands of foster kids and helps meets economic needs that foster parents sometimes cannot. Like most nonprofits, Treehouse can always use help. My (former) workplace ran a clothing drive and then a group of about 10 of us sorted and tagged clothes for the Wearhouse. It was a fulfilling and heartwarming day of service. I would not hesitate to recommend the services this organization provides or suggest it as a nonprofit worthy of your support. My daughter has been attending since last year during COVID. The staff took precautions to make the…read moreschool a safe environment. I decided to have my daughter attend because she has traveled to most places in the US and to my home land the last couple of years. I wanted COVID to be a positive experience and not coup her up in the house. Since attending DLEC my daughter has learned her basic education her cousins are learning in Kindergarten. My daughter learned so much and worth the experience. I travel from Seatac and sometimes Auburn to drop off and pick her up but it's so worth it. She has even got accepted into her local school without testing to join kindergarten when she turns 4. I'm glad to have her start her education very young. Everyone thinks she's very smart and a fast learner, visually and physically. Also her social skills has improved so much. She's not shy around people and communicate with those when spoken too. Thanks to all the staff for making her beginning education experience so much fun and challenging during these tough time in our lives. I appreciate very single staff!

They have everything from vintage knick knacks to toys to books to small furniture. And clothes, TONS of clothes, all organized by size, style, season...you name it. They also have a large selection of household items, like dishes, bedding, towels, and small appliances. One thing I really appreciate is that they have dressing rooms so you can try things on! Some larger thrift stores have done completely away with this option, and while I understand why, I appreciate the ones who still have them. The line can get a little long at the counter, so keep that in mind if you're there on a busy day. But if you want a great thrifting experience, and to support a lovely small town business, definitely give Island Thrift a try!

She looked very visibly angry when saying this. I apologized and told her that I genuinely thought this was one of the racks on display in the store and backed off it. I hadn't been here before so I didn't know the layout of the store. She didn't say anything to me after that and hurried off away? I tried to go through the rest of the store but, after that the vibe was just off and I had to leave. Not sure if I will come back. At least not for awhile. Overall the store is very organized and clean. The clothing selection isn't the most stylish but, they can't help want gets donated to them. Would have liked it more if my visit had been better.

Look at the photos for the condition of a rug they sold. At the Shoreline store, I purchased a rug that was tightly rolled and sealed with tape, so there was no way to inspect it at the store. When I got it home and opened it, it was in unacceptable condition: heavily stained, paint marks, and a strong cigarette odor. This is not an item that should have been on the sales floor. I brought it back within a week with the tag attached and receipt in hand. The manager Leonora did not start by looking at the condition. Instead, she went straight to finding reasons to deny the return. First saying there was no tag (there was), then saying they don't accept returns on "furniture." At no point did she engage with the actual issue. When I tried to show her why I was returning it, another employee inserted herself and escalated the interaction. I did raise my voice out of frustration (my voice carries) but I made no threats and was trying to explain a legitimate issue. Rather than hearing the concern or working toward a solution, the situation escalated quickly. The manager told me to leave or the police would be called for CRIMINALLY TRESSPASSING, and that is exactly what happened. Police were called over a return. I tried to de-escalate and offered reasonable solutions (exchange or completing my purchase), but the manager declined and stayed focused on denying the return and calling the police to have us removed for CRIMINAL TRESSPASSING! Even the responding officer looked at the rug and attempted to find an amicable resolution. My daughter, who was not involved in the interaction, was also threatened with trespass, which was upsetting and unnecessary. This should have been straightforward customer service: 1. The item was not in acceptable condition and the condition was against their own donation policy. 2. It was packaged in a way that prevented inspection 3. A reasonable review could have resolved it Instead, it escalated into a situation involving publicly funded law enforcement over a defective item. As a nonprofit serving the community, I would expect a greater emphasis on resolving issues directly rather than relying on public resources to shut down a legitimate concern. For a place called Bella's Voice, it was surprising how quickly the conversation was shut down. The executive director has chosen to ignore my formal complaint.
